- Davis (6/5): It was very nice to stay in this historic home and learn a bit about the original owners and how it - Breakfast was delicious! The dining room was very cheerful and warm. The home's location was great and we enjoyed walking around Old Salem and taking in the local Famers Market and restaurant nearby. Because the spring pollen was just finishing, there was dust and debris all over the porches and outdoor sitting areas. It would have been nice to sit and enjoy the lovely weather if they had been cleaned up.

- Susanne (9/5): Overall, our visit to Old Salem was wonderful! It is such a fun and educational destination! - Breakfast was delicious, hostess was very friendly, location was great! The room was on the third floor. The stairs were hard to manage because they were steep and narrow but we chose a room with two beds. The room was hot so we opened windows to cool it down and used two fans. The shower had a high wall to step into. Booking should mention these features for people over 65 or with mobility issues.

The room was nice, bed was comfortable. We are in town frequently and will definitely be back. There is really nothing I can say negative about our stay. It’s a historic property so there were some things that were broken, but nothing serious.

- Brian (10/5): - Perfectly situated in Old Salem, this cozy B&B is perfect for a stay in Winston-Salem. The rooms are nicely decorated and spacious. Plus the manager, Sherry, is very attentive and a wonderful cook. Bed’s are a bit firm but not a deterrent.

- Suzanne (10/5): Lovely B & B - The proprietor chilled our wine in a bucket with ice and also provided to glasses. Breakfast was very good and quite substantial. The inn was close to the restaurant we chose and also close to the art museum we visited. Some hotels and inns now have smart TVs. I wish the Zevely had a smart TV.

Our room was cozy and the made-from-stratch breakfasts served by the innkeeper absolutely delicious! And she was delightful, so welcoming and full of stories, but still giving us privacy to soak in every morsel of Old Salem charm in the home owned by Dr. Zevely. We're going back as soon as possible!

- Lloyd (9/5): It was very pleasant and quiet. Loved being able to "ground" on the brick floor. - I am used to having eggs and meat for breakfast and not so much carbs/grains. But it was good. The price is a bit steep for the accomodation.
- Jimmy (10/5): - This bed and breakfast is located in the heart of Old Salem. The inn is in a 150 year old home and is very charming. My wife and I enjoyed a nice romantic weekend getaway here. The inn host was very friendly and made us feel very welcomed. The complimentary breakfast was very good. There’s a lot of nearby historic sites to view, and some really good restaurants located very close by. I highly recommend staying at the Zevely Inn.

- John (10/5): An Unbelievable Stay at a Historic Inn - We had an outstanding stay at a Historic Inn (c. 1744). Inn Keeper Cherie was most helpful and a delightful hostess. Breakfast was outstanding. Located in Historic Old Salem. We will definitely return when we have more time to tour the Old Salem community and to become more schooled in the Moravian culture.

We stayed in the Winter Kitchen Suite, which was well-appointed. As with some old buildings, not absolutely everything functioned perfectly (for example, doors were a challenge, but we figured them out). Cherie, the innkeeper, is also the chef, and she makes the best of a tiny kitchen. We enjoyed our stay. Recommended!

Cherie, the innkeeper, was so warm and genuine. I feel like I made a new friend in her! She moved our room to a lower level (and much larger space) to accomodate my mom's mobility issues. Her breakfast was delightful, and our room was clean and inviting! I would DEFINITELY go back! In all honesty, there is not one single thing that I could reference as a "negative".
- Carrie (10/5): - Our first visit to Winston-Salem. We were greeted by Cherie upon arrival. She was fantastic! She showed us our room and showed us the house. She gave us dinner suggestions and we went to a brewery/pub called Foothills- excellent wings and beer! The Inn is very quiet, and clean. The outside sitting area on back of house is comfy and serene. The historic bldgs in that area are quite fascinating to see(all walkable area around the Inn) The BREAKFAST that Cherie made us was absolutely delicious. She served our coffee and our meals to us which was not expected but a great touch :) But the way we just felt like we were at home there, and the conversations we had with Cherie during that brief stay was something you won't find at a hotel. Should we ever come to Winston-Salem again we shall definitely choose the Zevely to stay at again!

- Charles (10/5): Surprising gem - Charming and in a beautiful location. While the room was small, it had every amenity to be comfortable and opened onto a beautiful porch overlooking the garden. The breakfast was fantastic and the owner could not have been more accommodating or friendly. We loved staying there and will again!
- Tena (10/5): - Lovely antiques , reproductions in beautiful home. Old Salem is a gem of history and atmosphere. Disappointed my stay was not longer.
- Nancy (8/5): Interesting to learn history of this area and if you love old buildings this would be a fun place to stay. - We loved the location in Old Salem. The breakfast was good and the host was accommodating to our schedule. The stairs to the third floor were very steep. The extra bed in the room was uncomfortable- it was a very lumpy mattress. The tub/shower had a high side- difficult to get into. None of this was expected. As a 70 year old I probably would have chosen different accommodations if I had known.

- Cathy (8/5): - Our room was beautiful. Clean and comfy bed . The Innkeeper was very nice and asked about out dietary needs . My granddaughter was gluten and dairy free and Ms. Cherie was very accommodating! The weather was very warm and there was no air-conditioning . There was a small sliding screen and a dyson fan in the room .

- Tom (6/5): 19th Century accommodations here in the 21st Century. - This inn is located right in the middle of Old Salem. It was very safe, and at night you felt like you were walking thru a 19th Century neighborhood. The inn itself was just as advertised: old but in great shape. We stayed on the 3rd floor. Just be aware that it's an awkward hike up to that floor, with steep stairs in a narrow stairwell. Also, there was no AC in the room, and all the heat from the floors below rose into our room.

Thanks so much for looking after me during my short stay. My room was a good size with a comfortable bed and cable TV. Cold outside but nice and cosy inside with plenty of space.
