Jack (6/5): good for one night - The pool was a great bonus. The room was a good size with plenty of space to move around. There was a nice private seating area at the front of the unit - it was a little too warm to enjoy and we escaped into the airconditioning. The 2 pool areas were appreciated as one area was a little loud and we were able to enjoy the 2nd pool and its amenities. The unit had only a small window so the room felt a little dreary. I am not sure why, but we expected a mini fridge which would have been a welcomed addition. I think we were disappointed in the nearby beach - which was nearby however it disappeared at high tide. We were able to go drive to the main beach, however would have loved to have just walked. The hotel is located in a gated community - which meant there wasn't too much happening in the area - one had to travel 30 minutes for character, selection of restaurants and public life.

Very close to beach and great location! Had dinner the first night and fried plantains and yuca seemed to need to be cooked on higher temp as very oily.

Victor (9/5): Very nice location, close to the beach, friendly and helpful staff. - The property is lovely. I liked the gardens. Lots of colorful plants and flowers. It’s an enclosed compound. The front gate is padlocked at night. One morning, I went to catch the sunrise over the ocean. But I could not find a way out. I finally found another door but when I exited, I feared that I wouldn’t be allowed back in. If there was a security guard on duty, this person could not be found. I understand the need to protect guests and property against theft, but I didn’t like being held prisoner inside the compound either.

Scott (8/5): Coronado 1 night - I arrived very late and didnt stay very long. The place is old. The service and food was excellent. One temperature of shower water. I will stay there again when i stay for a few days in coronado.
Jitka (8/5): Overall the stay was convenient on our way to Panama City and we had all we needed. - Their garden is lush and colorful and the children loved the pool. The room was a good side and the staff was friendly. We only stopped for one night, but had dinner and breakfast there and didn't have to drive to another restaurant. Also the closest beach was very nice for a couple of hours in the morning. We had to wait for our dinner a bit longer that we would have liked and there was not such a big selection.

Very good host.Very accommodating. There was no refrigerator. There were ants and iguana in the room. Our last day, we ordered a bacon cheeseburger, we got a hamburger with ham and uncooked bacon. We had to take it back twice to get it to that point. There was a large group there and that seemed to be the priority

But if you're ok with a nice room, clean pools, they have 2, small outdoor restaurant, well manicured tropical landscaping, Las Catalinas Coronado is for you!

Vore (8/5): Very good - The manager bent over backwards to assist in any way possible. The bed was comfortable. The room was very clean. There is some tree that is over the awning and roof of the room. It kept dropping things onto the tin roof and startled me many times. It is a beautiful tree, just noisy.
Jessica (8/5): Wonderful relaxing stay. - The big comfy room and bed, it was clean and the air con was lovely. I loved the hammock on the deck, the pool was fun and clean. The restaurant attached is delicious and so well priced, I ate here everyday and really enjoyed the meals, Roberta at the restaurant was a wonderful person who took care of me. Beautiful tropical gardens located on the property. Just the shower pressure was really bad, so bad that you couldn’t have the shower head on and sometimes it would just be a slow running pour from the tap and I’d cup my hands to fill up enough water to wash an area on my body.
Knowles (10/5): Place where they treat you like family. - The staff was fantastic. Food was also fantastic. The front desk clerk, Marcella was exceptional. She went above and beyond her duties. Which I truly appreciated because I had a long day of travelling.. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice get-a-way. The only thing I didn't like was on my last day there the shower stopped working after I was already latter up with soap. I couldn't rinse of properly.

Polina (3/5): Unfriendly reception staff, no water in the bathroom - The ground and the location is close to the beach, about 10 min brisk walk No hot water in the shower, water pressure is really bad and on the last day when checking by out right when I needed to take a shower there was no water at all.
Marek (9/5): Basic, clean accommodation close to the beach - Overall very positive experience. The room was simple and pretty small, but very clean. The staff was very friendly. The hammock on the porch was a super cool addition. It's located a 5-minute walk from Playa Serena. An on-site restaurant is very recommended. They serve tasty food at a reasonable price. The price could be lower for what you get.
Matthew (1/5): False advertisement - Pool. Staff was somewhat helpful, issues were not in there control. The listing does not match what we were given. It is just small bedroom with a private bathroom and nothing else. The listing stated large closet, coffee pot, mosquito net, and refrigerator, none of these are accurate. If you want coffee, you need to pay for it.

Carl (10/5): - Las Catalinas Coronado was a very pleasant. The staff were friendly and were more then accommodating when it came to putting up with our lack of speaking Spanish. With the help of Google translate we both made it work. The room was small but nice and clean. There was a patio area with a hammock out from that was private and peaceful. The entire grounds were somewhat of an oasis and the pool area was private and had a kitchen area that was open to all to use. It helped we were there during the off season as there were only a couple of other guest there beside ourselves. It turns out we are not big fans of the Coronado area, but I would stay at the Las Catalinas again.

Fernando & Ian were wonderful hosts! It was lovely being able to stay so close to the beach and relax on the property.

Verified traveler (6/5): This is a Hostel not a Hotel - As long as you're aware of what you are booking, this is an acceptable accommodation. This is more of a Hostel than a Hotel. The "living room" is shared space as is the kitchen and seating areas. There is no one to check you in but a friend of the owner who was working in the garden gave us our key. There is no maid service, and the rooms are sparsely furnished. Our room had an uncomfortable queen bed pushed into one corner, and a dresser with squeaky drawers for clothes. The bath had one towel rod that kept falling down, no amenities such as soap or glasses, and no hot water. There were no electrical outlets except for one extension cord by the door to the unit with a plug in on top of the dresser. On the good side, the WIFI was good, and the AC worked. The pool is small but clean, and there are shared cooking facilities and tables outside.

Verified traveler (4/5): Las Catalinas Coronado isn't Beachfront. - I booked Las Catalinas Coronado so that my family and I could get to spend a relaxing afternoon together before school commence. To my dismay, the property was located on the other side of the street with private property with the beachfront across from it. There was a side alley from where the private properties were located where people access the beach, but it went right into the water. In order to go to the beach we had to get into our cars and compete with other locals who were also looking to enter the beach. It was a big disappointment. Although the room itself was ok and clean, there was no toiletries in the bathroom for showering. I was expecting more from this place.

Stephen (8/5): Residential - The place was nice and extremely comfortable. Jose, the groundskeeper, was really helpful and polite. I had the place to myself the entire five days. The pool was nice and the beach very accessible. I would not recommend this place without a car, which I did not have. I walked four miles roundtrip everyday for food and other provisions. Closest restaurant and store - 2 miles away. The homes along the beach were upscale and impressive. Very safe area.
Howard (10/5): Great Little B&B in Coronado Beach - Lovely little B&B in Coronado, just a few minute walk from the beach. Comfortable room, great pool and lots of nice landscaping and shady areas on the grounds. The manager, Yuri, is extremely helpful and nice. Makes great breakfasts. Even gave us a ride on a few occasions, as taxis a bit difficult to get in this area. If you are looking for a laid back, relaxing break from Panama City, this is a great place to chill for a few days.
Marvin (10/5): Great B&B, great staff, great location. - We stayed in Las Catalinas this trip. We enjoyed our time there. Yuri, that manager was great and makes fantastic banana and chocolate crepes for breakfast! The staff is very friendly. The gardener came to get us to show us a green iguana in one of the trees on the property! The B&B is a classic Panamanian home with several guest rooms in various parts of the home. The grounds have many fruit trees, a pool, bohio area, and a large cage, the home for four beautiful and friendly yellow front Amazon parrots. I was let inside to feed and interact with the birds. The inn is also about one block from a great beach. We walked a long way in both directions. We'll be back, for sure.
Nelson (10/5): Nice affordable and close to the beach and friendl - It's a very good B&B nice and quiet for a very affordable price with breakfast and close to everything. What we like the mos was Playa Serena that was within a short walk from the facilities .
