Guest Reviews
- Valerie (9/5): À - A truly beautiful place, decorated with great taste in a calm Zen style that instantly makes you feel relaxed. Everything is well equipped for a comfortable stay. Breakfast is simple but satisfying. The garden is absolutely breathtaking, full of vibrant plants and alive with the songs and colors of magnificent birds – a little paradise.
- Leigh (10/5): The perfect place to relax and unwind - The location was tranquil, the perfect place to rest and unwind. We loved the atmosphere here and would definitely rebook in the future. The bed was comfy, we had all the facilities we needed and the place was very clean. The hosts left us loads of recommendations for the area which we appreciated. Nothing.
- Courtney (10/5): -
- Brad (10/5): Exceptional - It was such a spacious clean area
I would love to go back with my partner
We were left alone and felt safe and sound
So quiet and a beautiful area to revitalise
Out of the rate race
I loved it I can’t think of anything to improve on
I was super happy with it
- Angie (9/5): Cosy getaway - We loved the property it was clean and tidy, and the atmosphere was amazing, very zen.
The bed was super comfortable, and we loved that they had a French press and provided coffee with local honey as well. Everything was immediate access but far enough away from society that it felt intimate and private. The facilities were excellent, large bathroom etc. There was a folder that outlined expectations, rules, and things to do in the local area. They are "off grid" so it was helpful that they explained certain aspects like water usage, sewerage, recycling, etc. No TV and the internet provided sucks. It is really slow.
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional - It was perfect for me n/a
- Henna (9/5): Superb -
- Vanessa (10/5): Great place to get your zen on - The quiet location, ambience and styling of the cottage was perfect - so serene, relaxing and tranquil.
- Susan (9/5): Superb - Beautiful place to stay with my granddaughter. Lovely country location and the birds are something special. Lovely & clean, very comfortable and beautiful decor. Really is a nice place to relax.
- Melissa (9/5): A restful beautiful location with a garden to sit in and lovely views of the valley - Beautiful room to walk into felt so relaxing with extra touches like music and lighting
- Benjamin (9/5): Excellent.Exactly as advertised and just what we need - Location, tranquility, gardens, beautiful. Very comfortable bed. Books games etc very atmospheric Not a dislike but full disclosure … mobile reception was somewhat poor and wifi a little slow - if you want to maintain your online presence, take work calls or otherwise hog bandwidth, find somewhere else.
- Ainsley (10/5): Spacious, relaxing and well equipped space in rainforest paradise - What a magical wee slice of Tallebudgera paradise. The perfect spot for our week away. The cabin was large, clean and fully equipped with everything we needed for our stay. It was wonderful to wake in the morning to so much birdlife and to go to sleep in the evening listing to the frogs. The gardens are spectacular and well worth a wander. The location felt like you are tucked away out of the bustling Gold Coast yet in reality only a 15 minute drive away. There is a beautiful reserve only a few minutes drive down the road against the creek and we enjoyed seeing a wallaby and her joey each morning and evening traveling down the valley.
- Cody (8/5): Very good -
- Elisabeth (8/5): I was at the B&B to visit relatives near-by and it served that purpose very well. - The decor was intriguing and I kept wondering which country it came from. I know the hosts have to do it because they are off-grid in most respects, but it is a little daunting to have to read so many instructions. I also love silence, or to choose my own music. I was a little overwhelmed to be greeted by music.
- Vicki (10/5): A true retreat - It was amazing ,so peaceful so homely and comforting . Everything was better than the photo and the most restful place I have stay on my travels .I can not say enough about the place the host the gardens and the beautiful relaxing experience.. I recommend it to anyone who need an escape from the hassle and bustle .it was amazing, had a reading with Terrence and that was a highlight. All round a beautiful healing retreat and relax . I loved everything
- Seren (7/5): Lovely place and quiet - Very quiet The bed is very uncomfortable
- Gregory (8/5): This cottage is for nature lovers who want to enjoy a stay in the bush. - The place was clean and comfortable. The addition of a microwave oven would seem logical to me for less mess and less power usage over the 2 existing conventional ovens.
- Blackrose74 (9/5): A huge slice of heaven. - Absolutely everything! If you are looking to get away from the trappings of society for a few days then this is the perfect place to do so. Super relaxing with beautiful surroundings inside and out. Terrence and Arisa have created something truly special here. Absolutely nothing.
- Rheannon (10/5): Beautiful cabin in a beautiful location. Had a wonderful, relaxing stay. - Beautiful location, beautiful cabin. A lovely relaxing vibe and friendly hosts.
- Kevin (7/5): Good - Quiet, cosy, clean No TV! Should have been very clear about this and very poor internet connection so could not stream on phones. No fan in bedroom so hot trying to sleep.
- John (10/5): Luxury among the greenery - A beautifully appointed cottage in tranquil, luxuriant bushland surroundings. Large comfortable bed leading to a really good night's sleep. Luxuriant decor and fittings. A wonderful place to return to after a day exploring the region. Friendly, helpful host. Highly recommended.
- Sue (10/5): Exceptional - It felt like home
- Mandy (9/5): Special cottage with a lot of soul!😘 - The cottage is absolutely gorgeous & has so much soul! Thank you so much for the beautiful music & diffuser, & all your little special items in the cottage & gardens. The main bed sheet was covered in dust & sand.
- Max (4/5): Not a nice experience - With a good cleaning, throwing out some of the mouldy smelling furniture and some repair work it could be a charming place. Quite dirty, dusty, old and shabby. The musty, mouldy smell was overwhelming, so we had the doors/windows open at all times, which was not very comfortable at outside temperatures of 11°C. Due to old age most windows couldn't be opened.
The insect mesh at the windows/doors had huge gaps. Fortunately we had our own mosquito net with us.
After a long day hiking I drank a lot of tap water, when we arrived. Only on page 11 of a long booklet in smallprint, after explaining the owner's belief system, is mentioned that the tap water is just collected rain water. No mention anywhwere else.
The pillow/bed linen stank.
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning cottage, friendly hosts, lovely garden and surroundings in nature.
Physio treatments available on site
- Brealey (9/5): Peaceful cottage, just off the coast. Easy to get to and food shops a short drive away. - Lovely quiet location, great organic breakfast. Nothing
- Tim (8/5): Very good - The perfect place to chill out.
- Philee (9/5): Wonderful place. Breakfast could be much better - Wonderful location in the Tallebudgera valley.
Lovely hideway with a lot of atmosphre and privacy. Very comfy bed. We stayed here for 4 nights and breakfast was included. But there was almost nothing to make yourself a nice breakfast. Some toast, a couple of eggs, marmelade and fresh fruit (there were only 3 lemons in a bowl!!), would have done the trick.
- Rachele (8/5): Very good -
- Lorena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roberta (10/5): Great long weekend getaway - Very clean and the design of the home was great. There were a lot of things to explore inside and outside the home. Great for those wanting to take a relaxing break and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. No issues at all
- Gary (9/5): Beautiful & tranquil retreat - This is a beautiful place....very peaceful & quiet. A real "back to nature" experience with luxury touches. A great couple's getaway. If you want to prepare your own meals, they have a wonderful kitchen set up.....but are in desperate need of a new cooktop.
- Isabelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Benson (8/5): Very good - A luxury stay. It has almost everything we need. very large living area, bathroom, outdoor area and beauty in gardening and mountain view, It is quiet and a good place to relax. No laundary service, may be due to limit of water supply. the room deco a bit too busy for us. to some people it may be too far to drive or too far away from a town center. no grocery store near by. you have to bring in on the way back which is not a problem to us.
- Hillman (7/5): Good - Loved how peaceful and quiet it was No Tv
- Chrissie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tyler (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (8/5): Bird lovers Paradise - Beautiful bush like setting with daily visits from the amazing Birdlife. Oven was difficult to work which made cooking frustrating.
Dishwasher was out of order..
- Jennifer (9/5): Very pleasant and relaxing - The cottage was well-located in a quiet, and very attractive area, surrounded by a wonderful garden.
It was charmingly decorated and very comfortable for our needs.
The property was within easy reach of Burleigh Heads and Tallebudgera by car. Our hosts Aisa and Terrence were also very helpful.
We would be happy to visit again.
- Sarah (10/5): Peaceful, relaxing and unique. - Beautiful gardens, tranquility, privacy and unique decor. Very special accommodation. I took my 12 year old daughter. Not suitable for her but we still loved it.
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Kerrie (10/5): Hope to be back again one day, thoroughly loved the cottage and it's surroundings. - Loved the location, very idyllic. We saw a small kangaroo in the back garden, wallabies down the road, cockatoos and brush turkeys - was really lovely being around the natural surroundings.
The cottage was peaceful and relaxing, we definitely felt a wonderful ambience there.
The breakfast - fresh bananas, real honey and homemade muesli was delicious.
Arissa and Terrence were wonderful, they have put so much thought, attention to detail and love into the cottage and gardens. You look around and there are ornaments or artifacts which are detailed in a manual for the cottage so you can read up on where they came from and the meaning of them, if you want to. That for me was really beautiful to see. They also provided great alternative wellness services.
Hoping to return one day. I don't think anything could have been better. I guess one thing would be the internet was a little slow at times but that was not the purpose of our trip - it was to get away from that!!
It was just unfortunate for us that we didn't have a rental car. Originally we were just planning to stay there the whole week (for us, we definitely would have been content to have stayed in the cottage away from civilization and just reading, relaxing etc), so would have got an Uber, but our plans changed last minute due to family we were visiting, so we needed to be more mobile.
I think you could easily manage to stay there for a relaxing getaway and go there by Uber etc. From Elanora it took us around 15'ish minutes. But if you are planning to go exploring to the coast, or day trips out then hire a car.
- Ivan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (10/5): Amazing spacious cabin with all the perfect touches. The hosts are very helpful and easy to contact - Everything was perfect and exactly what I was hoping for.
- Mahshid (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hayder (8/5): Relaxing peaceful stay - Beautiful place and surroundings nature
- Karen (10/5): Lovely - Terrance and Arisa are such gracious hosts.
The studio was a perfect retreat in a beautiful location. Comfortable and easy. I loved the rainwater shower and little courtyard at the back.
- Bibek (10/5): Fabulous would definitely go back again and again :) - Loved the privacy as it is surrounded by trees, natural lighting was amazing due to the number of windows they had, fine unique decor, serenity, indoor plants, spacious, lovely hosts The bedding could have been cleaner and pillows more comfortable
- Jazmyn (8/5): Very good -
- Kopp (9/5): Superb -
- Judith (9/5): Wonderful, peaceful time. definitely will return. - The location was beautiful and the cottage was warm and cosy as stated. Loved the fact that it is an ecofriendly environment. A couple of minor things: no scissors or bread knife.
the bath towels smelt musty.
- Catherine (7/5): Good -
- Robin (10/5): Peaceful and relaxing - The peaceful location was great. Well furnished. Nice vibe. It is a long way from anywhere. Adds expense with Uber or food delivery. Best to have your own car.
- Keith (9/5): location location and location -
- Wayne214 (10/5): quiet, peaceful, relaxing - the location was beautiful
- Genevieve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabeth (9/5): A peaceful week. - Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The owners have put enormous effort into creating a special space with many thoughtful extras. The cottage has its own private garden and the area is quiet and peaceful. We were particularly impressed with the clear communication from the owner. Many thanks. Remember to bring warm clothes … the hinterland is much colder than the coast.
- Hermes (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely people and wonderful place! It was better than I expected
- Karen (10/5): Beautiful, relaxing, rejuvenating weekend away surrounded by nature - Beautiful aesthetically furnished and cosy cottage surrounded by nature and wildlife. Loved the iPod playlists and ylang ylang essential oil diffused. Comfiest sofa I've ever lazed around on. Wonderful book and card selection. And fresh organic coffee (I love my coffee). And Arisa's beautiful artwork was amazing 🌲🪴🌺🪷 Having to leave! 😪

The decor was beautiful and interesting, the place was very peaceful and tranquil, the view was stunning from the deck, lovely hosts, simple organic breakfast. Cannot fault Cosy Cottage at all. Nothing, everything was lovely.
- Matthew (9/5): Superb -
- Scott (9/5): A breath of fresh air - The cottage is a work of art. Loved all the wooden furniture & collectable ornaments, especially the life-like hand carved Buddha & impressive, natural dining table! There's even real, healthy indoor plants, which is unique. This connects the indoors to the outdoor garden, where one can sit at various places & admire the oriental stone idols, or just breathe in the wonders of nature. It's a quiet environment, comfy bed & the hosts have graciously provided whatever they can to make one's stay comfortable. Plenty of space inside & out & handy to the coast & walks, etc. Very satisfying weekend escape into a more natural environment.
- Terrence (7/5): Nice peaceful location, but slow wifi - We stayed in the cottage for 3 nights. It is a peaceful, relaxing location away from neighbours (although close to the hosts house). There is plenty of birdlife and even a kangaroo. The cottage is comfortable, with plenty of space and a decent shower. The muesli provided was delicious, as was the Oat milk. The wifi was poor, very slow when it was connected, and it dropped out frequently. There was a thunderstorm the first evening, so we thought that might have been the cause, but it was the same the following days when the weather had improved. We asked the host about it, and he only pointed to the router located in the cottage, saying it's the best location and he has no trouble streaming in his house.
- Genevieve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sherie (10/5): Tranquillity. - The accomodation was 5 stars! The owners were lovely and the property was an absolute pleasure to explore! The wildlife was abundant too. Honestly there was nothing there not to love!
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dennis (8/5): Very good - A microwave would be an advantage. Possibly a little too close to the existing home.
- Michelle (10/5): The garden cottage is an oasis filled with thoughtful detail to welcome guests and provide restorative comforts in a bea - Its peaceful and welcoming surroundings.
- Adam (8/5): Very good -
- Wendy (10/5): Exceptional - Idealic setting, tranquil and relaxing with all amenities thoughtful provided by hosts who are warm and welcoming. 'Serenity' N/A
- Philomena (9/5): Superb - Peace and quiet; beautiful gardens and walks. With increasing petrol costs, closer services would have been good.
- Jack (9/5): Different experience but will stay again. - Peace and quiet. Gardens. The cottage, it was different. No TV or microwave. But we got over that and enjoyed each other.
- Dhyan (10/5): wonderful experience in a special location - Location amazing
cottade beaautiful
very helpful guidebook produced by owners
- Gordon (10/5): our visit was amazing. Being able to escape the GC rat race to the tranquility of the valley was wonderful. And our hos - so peaceful and wonderful surrounds. we breakfasted in the gardens and had a nightcap gazing at the stars. nothing, it was brilliant.
