Guest Reviews
- Maya (8/5): Gorgeous space. Suited our needs and great value for money. - Lake views were top notch. Comfy warm rooms. Loved the fire place. Happy to provide feedback individually.
- Kirsty (10/5): Relaxing, peaceful and very comfortable - Great setting with views to a very peaceful and tranquil lake with beautiful gardens Nothing, we loved it
- Moira (8/5): Perfect location close to Pemberton - Amazing location, very good for young families Could do with a really good deep clean (floor scrub - invest in a rotowash machine!, rug shampoo, clean the blinds, spider webs etc)
- Lynn (8/5): -
- Susan (8/5): Chosen for position and price. Matched our expectations. A lovely holiday. - Not far from town. Quiet, lovely outlook. Plenty of space and well set out.Not too close to others. No reception for phones. Barbecue was dirty but was attended to.
- Koala58 (9/5): Tranquillity at its best. - Location is excellent. True tranquillity yet close to Pemberton, shops and coffee/bakery outlets. Chalets are spacious and surprisingly cool during the hot days even without any air-condition fitted. Terrace is looking at the lake and chairs and sofas at the back porch are very comfy for the relaxing experience surrounded with the wildlife (mostly birds). End of summer is probably the best time of the year. Not too hot, not too cold. And surprisingly not many mozzies for the chalets next to the lake. Bed was very comfortable for our taste and if too cold at night electric blanket is there if needed. We did not need to use it as that duna was a great cover. We used our kettle and coffee but there was Nespresso machine with frother and coffee pods and tea and sugar sachets available including the milk in the fridge. Flat TV in front of very comfy sofas and wood fire heater in the corner for a really cold nights. We did not have to use it. TV channels available through Fire TV streaming dongle. All the rooms, kitchen, bathroom and toilet were clean spotless. We would stay longer if we could but for the next time we will try to do that. WiFi was easy to connect to. Our chalet was No 4 the last one from the gates. There is no extraction fan in the toilet. For one couple it is OK but if this chalet is shared with other couple it would be a bit uncomfortable. The only way to vent the toilet is to open the toilet door and close the bathroom door and use the bathroom extractor fan to vent the whole lot. As for us it was OK.
There was a TV and FireTv remote on the table. TV remote was OneForAll learning remote and the booklet with the instruction and codes for the TV models. Unfortunately none of the codes worked with Thomson TV but at least the FireTv remote was original. I found only one code which is not fot his TV but at least accepted a couple of functions. Pressing number 0 on the OneForAll remote would turn the TV on/off. Otherwise you have to use the manual side buttons on the TV to change the volume and turn the TV on/off.
The other thing which is not the fault of the property is the whole Pemberton area was infested with horse flies and they were attacking and biting relentlessly during the day which took off some pleasure of sitting on the back porch and enjoying a quiet drink.
All this was a minor inconvenience and we are looking forward to stay again in these beautiful chalets next time.
- Karin (9/5): - Peace and quiet. There lovely surroundings with the birdlife and majestic trees plus the lake! Good facilities and a good layout. The bathroom fan s didn't work but wasn't a major issue. Some doors had been slightly damaged and others were hard to open easily. However, it didn't detract from the pleasure of staying here. Wish we had had at least another night here.
- Pascal (9/5): -
- George (7/5): Not bad but bad but could be better - Lake view, close to town, peaceful Small kitchen, lack of conveniences
- Kinley (9/5): -
- Corey (10/5): Stunning - Property has recently been purchased by new owner. He is one of the kindest and caring most friendly hosts i have ever had.
Has big plans to make stays even better andnew additions he mentioned to me which would really be amazing. Not a dislike but cabins could use a thorough clean and clense. As i mentioned its a new owner 3 months in and anything i bought up with him during my week long stay he was onto straight away
- sue (10/5): Good value - View Sofa

- Judy (9/5): Absolutely brilliant. Comfortable, clean, quiet. Lovely place. - Single room had no hanging rail in the robe. Suggest if possible to place the microwave lower as it is above a lot of people's head height and when taking food out of it, is easy to spill possibly causing burns
- Jo (9/5): -
- Wayne (9/5): Beautifull location and very relaxing sitting outside late afternoon with a glass of wine. - Beautifull location, very quiet and relaxing. Fireplace made it very comfortable in the afternoon and evening.

Beautiful view over the lake is peaceful and perfect for recharging your batteries.
The log burner fire makes the chalet cozy.
The electric blankets on the beds is a welcome touch.
Thank you Peter and Debbie for your warm welcome and great hospitality over the years! Barbecue cleaner (Barbie Mate Tool) would have been good for cleaning the bbq plate.

- Roslyn (10/5): Highly recommend this property. - This property was amazing. I loved staying here & would be back in a heartbeat
The scenery out the window every morning was just so relaxing & peaceful. The fireplace gave it a very cozy ambience & there was a good supply of wood available at your convenience.
Check-in was easy with Peter giving us loads of information on what to do around the area.
I would highly recommend this accommodation & the township of Pemberton is just gorgeous. Nothing
- Leanne (8/5): -
- Nick (9/5): Fabulous place, already planning another trip next winter. - Beautiful, peaceful rustic setting. Incredible views over the lake.
The property had everything we needed and being so close to town meant a short journey for buying additional supplies. Hardly a gripe but the kids were mildly irritated that the wifi strength couldn’t support their online gaming 😂. Not an issue for me personally.

The log burner fire was so warm and made the chalet snug and comfortable. Nothing more we could have needed.
All good 😊
- Sherrill (9/5): Debbie and Peter were very accomodating, especially when my husband had a fall. Thank you both. - We were self sufficient and did our own cooking - pretty sure that there were no dining facilities on site. Beds were the best we have ever encountered...si very comfortable and luxurious. The lighting is very dim and could be improved. The frypans were old and could do with being replaced.

- Larry (7/5): Good - Magic location. Good bed and generally good facilities. Fantastic view from windows in the lounge and bedroom. Very peaceful. When it rained there was a large muddy puddle at the front door. Gutters need cleaning. Lighting is inadequate for older people.
- Anonymous (8/5): Overall we enjoyed our stay and would be happy to return in the warmer months. - The setting was very attractive and relaxing.
The chalet was a good size for a couple, for 5 it would have been very tight.
Very comfortable bed. The wood heater didn’t give off much heat, even when fully open.
- Peter (8/5): Very good - Beautiful location above the lake. Generally well fitted out with what's needed. May benefit from an electric fan heater so that the fire didn't need to be burning all the time.
- Danielle (9/5): Superb - Having to chop wood with a blunt axe...
- Mark (9/5): Very enjoyable - Very scenic and the peace and quiet Nil
- Tina (9/5): Comfortable, Cozy and Quiet Chalet with gorgeous view over a lake. - A wonderful little spot just before you arrive into the town centre of Pemberton. We come from Perth and came down to the area as we were racing in an off road rally event held in Manjimup. This spot was perfect as we were only 21 minutes from Manjimup town centre.
We let the owners know that we would be arriving late and they kindly lit a fire and left the lights on for us.
We stayed in the first Chalet 'Shannon' as you come in on the driveway.
The Chalet was adorable. Pot belly fireplace. Little kitchenette with good sized fridge and microwave and all the utensils and crockery that comes with apartment style accommodation. Good sized bathroom with very lots of hot water to get the day started right on a chilly winter's morning.
The bed was very comfortable and super cozy with electric blanket to keep warm on the couple of very cold nights that we stayed.
I loved the outlook onto the lake. Just gorgeous.
The whole property is quiet and serene and we saw a few fairy wrens on our back verandah which added to the lovely country atmosphere.
This accommodation met our needs perfectly.
Thank you to the owners Debbie and Pete for providing such beautiful accommodation.
- Rebekah (6/5): Love the doggies greeting and the beautiful green slopes and the lake - Loved being away from the city and among the trees again. Frustrating having no internet when we were led to believe there was wifi. Sure there was but signal so weak we couldn’t use. We did have some work/study to do in family down time and also for planning around weather. An unfortunate need these day that confounded internet! Lol
- Ron (7/5): Good - the location was great The bed we slept in was bowing in the middlle so felt like we were rolling into each other,
fan in the bathroom was not working so the mirror fogged up
The offcuts of wood that were supplied burned away very quickly so even when the heater was turned down for the night it did not burn all night.
- Joshua (8/5): Very good -
