Dick and staff were really helpful with accessibility for my elderly Mum. Perhaps a comfortable area to sit when the weather is having a typically British rainy moment but in dry weather all outdoor areas were lovely

- Stephen (10/5): - The End Of a Perfect Day When I asked Grok for a list of good B&Bs in Bradford-on-Avon, this was one of the two recommendations. Grok nailed it. We booked with the Widbrook Barns B&B for one night as part of a two-day stay. We were amused that all of the rooms are named after children's books. We stayed in the Lion, which was next to the Witch, and the Wardrobe. The setting is quite idyllic, and has many spots to sit outside and enjoy the remains of the day. When we arrived, we were greeted by Dick, one of the proprietors, who greeted us like old friends. He was kind, helpful and funny, as he filled us in on the things we needed to know. The room was faultless. I rarely get to say that. The rooms were spotless, the walk-in shower was glorious. It was almost impossible to leave after a long day's sightseeing. The towels were huge and everything was generally excellent. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well... ...until it was time for breakfast, which was filling and very nice, with lots of choices, ranging from poached eggs to wild-caught kippers. No complaints there either. Since we would be out all day before catching a train home, I had asked them if I could leave a bag with them. This was not a problem. Highly recommended. We shall definitely return if the opportunity presents itself.

- Alexandra (10/5): Lovely stay in beautiful location - The room was lovely, clean and comfy, with all that we needed. The breakfast was amazing, so much to choose from and freshly cooked. The location is perfect -We stayed the evening before a day in Bath, so walked along the canal path into town and then stopped on the way back at the Boat House pub for a drink on the waterside. Car journey was about 20 minutes into Bath in the morning. Had we stayed longer we would have made use of amenities at the Barns, such as the small kitchen with microwave and cutlery for snacks, and beautiful seating areas in the garden for sitting out in the sun. There is ample parking and even an electric car charger, that you can ask the owners to use for an overnight charge. Nothing to not like.

The courtyard is very pretty with lots of external seating areas for relaxing and the breakfast was lovely. We didn’t use the self catering kitchen but what a brilliant idea and the bike lock up was fantastic. The hosts were fabulous, friendly but not intrusive and full of local knowledge. A really great stay all round.

Room was spacious and very comfrortable. Beds were comfortable kit wasn't until we were leaving that we found out that they had a small kitchen facility which we were free to use to prepare our own evening meals. This woul help save us money rather than eating out.

Fab breakfast, with loads of choice. Our only disappointment was the limited time available and awful weather, which meant we couldn't explore all of the facilities and countryside walks available. We will be visiting again to put that right!

- Natalie (10/5): Superb excellent - Stayed at Widbrook Barns for a short 3 night break with my mum to explore the area. We loved it here - great location, so quirky, room was spotless, everything we needed. The owner - Dick - friendly and down to earth what a character. Breakfast was varied and exceptionally well cooked. Would definitely stay there again. Nothing just perfect.

From the moment we set foot on the property we received a warm greeting, followed up by receving all the information that we needed regarding where our room was, the facilities around and things that we could do in terms of places to eat and areas to visit. The room was really lovely, very clean and had all the amenities needed. The breakfast was also very nice and generous and had a variety of options which was really well received. I don't think there is anything that didn't go well, we are pleased with the whole experience.

- Ryan (8/5): Beautiful place and wonderful host with great wide open space outside - The welcoming and accommodating our dog was great. We must’ve had last room as we had twin beds, it was spacious room, clean and relaxing. The showroom was exceptionally clean. The breakfast was plentiful and appreciated the vegetarian option of the full English. The atmosphere around the place was pleasant and peaceful when sleeping at night. Having a shared kitchen comes in handy. There isn’t really anything to advise here, other than minor point there supposed to be shaver socket but we looked around it could not be found. To be fair we could ask, I’m sure it be sorted. The room connects to another room that has kitchen. You can see light through key hole, as my bed was in front it made me feel uncomfortable so I covered it temporarily. Maybe something can be offered to cover the key hole. I’m not sure what it feels like to stay here on hot night, our stay was comfortable over night. You can hear other guests in the room but they were quiet overall. Decent and affordable place to eat is 20 minutes away so sure to have transport or eat at closer place which is pricy.
