The room allocated was very nice, spacious, comfortable and cleaned on a daily basis. All the staff I encountered were very friendly, helpful and professional. The breakfast provided by the hotel was very good with hot and cold option. The staff were all first class. The area around the hotel (marina and plaza) are beautiful. A number of different eating out options available in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. I used both the pool and the gym area and both were very good. In order to see the sights in Muscat you will need access to a car or order a taxi (can be expensive. Ask the hotel for options). I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone coming to Oman for a relaxing holiday.

- Christopher (6/5): Great location, but very much over-priced - Great location in Al Mouj, surrounded by cafes and restaurants. Very comfortable room, but overpriced. Asked for sea view, which OK but was slighlty spoiled by construction in front of the hotel. Long wait for check-in, despite phoning ahead. Took forever to get housekeeping to bring some small items. I don't know why the roof-top pool closes at 6.00pm - just when the sun is setting and you can great views, they start clearing the sunbeds and move you out. Breakfast is fine but be prepared to wait for any cooked eggs. Overall slightly disappointed especially given the cost.

They were accommodating and the place is located by a beautiful Marina with lots of restaurant options. I highly recommend this place. Would definitely stay here again!

Also if you want close to the airport (not too close, no noise or anything). And it is on a harbor. But it is far away from everywhere else--20 km to the main sights of the city. But for a luxurious but still boutique-y feel, it is great. It's dry, but the Kempinski a short walk away has restaurants with alcohol and bars.

I was told that I could not smoke a cigar in the lounge upstairs because it was for "women and couples only" This is the second time that I have stayed here and both times I feel like I wasted my money.

- Marie (6/5): Discriminatory hotel - The hotel itself was nice enough but the attitude of the hospitality staff (except for the Indian staff) was terrible. At such a nice hotel I’d expect the same level of service to all international guests and not just to a certain ethnic group. I was really disappointed because it was the last day of our honeymoon and we’d just wanted a nice easy night staying near the airport for our early morning flight. I’d recommend foreign tourists beware.

- Lesley (10/5): A little bit of luxury - We had a room with a Marina View. It was very comfortable, clean and with air conditioning that was easy to operate as long as the window was shut. We were there for the Marathon which was postponed but it is in a very good location for the start. The water sports - Seaoman is also nearby, but book ahead for the snorkelling. There is also a shopping mall about 5 minute's walk with a reasonably priced supermarket that sells real milk. The room provides a kettle and coffee making facilities and a fridge. The hotel dining area also looked very nice although we didn't eat in as there were plenty of other eating places nearby.

To start we had to book 2 rooms for our family of 4, when we arrived they stated that they could not give us adjacent rooms because the names in the reservations did not had the same last name although the rooms were booked together. One of the rooms we got smelled heavily as smoking room. The facilities in the hotel are ok and the price you pay mostly is for the location in Al Mouj. The restaurant is great with great service.

- Maimuna (10/5): - My favourite thing about the hotel was the area it’s located in. Simply amazing. My stay was nice and comfortable. Room was spacious and clean. Pillows were too soft. The AC blows against the window so the blinds make a ticking sound against the wall, was a bit annoying so I had to prop a pillow against it. Staff were friendly but not overly helpful, I asked for trolly to be delivered but ended up taking down my own luggage. All in all though would recommend staying at the hotel.

- Rebecca (8/5): - Very nice hotel in very nice new marina. Meet Oman families who live in the neighborhood. The Mysk “chain” is Arabian-owned and does not serve alcohol. Actually nice to not hear drunken guests! We did miss our evening glass of wine but got used to it. There are ways to get alcohol in Oman if critical. Oman is a beautiful country that respects its natural beauty and not just $. It is the Switzerland of the Middle East. Mysk reflects that philosophy.

Staff was friendly, but with the exception of the front desk staff, poorly informed as the workings of the hotel. Concierge was not helpful, restaurant staff was very nice and attentive, but tried to charge us three times one morning for breakfast. When I tried to enquirer as to where to grab food before the restaurant opened on the first day of our visit, I was told to use the pool bar. It never actually opened that day. Once again, beautiful, clean hotel...staff needs a bit of training.

If you are renting a car the parking lot is very small and some nights we had to park nearby in street parking. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
