- Celeste (9/5): - Location was fantastic, room was clean and comfortable with shared bathroom facilities which were also clean.
- Kerrin (10/5): Loved it! - Convenience, location, friendly staff and great food!!
- Luu (7/5): - Location Shampoo not provided.
Recomendo! 👍 Um pouco de barulho vindo da rua

- Warncken (4/5): - Location was close to beach. The room was different to what was advertised . Very small with just an ensemble bed. And a sink.
Very loud wirh people coming in and out up until midnight.
- Jan (5/5): -
- Adnan (8/5): Enjoyable yet challenging - I must formally acknowledge that the failure to upgrade this room was entirely my own administrative oversight. The property does, in fact, accommodate three people; if one interprets “accommodate” in the most legally defensible sense of the word.
The sleeping arrangement consisted of a twin and single bed configured in what can only be described as an optimistic bunk-style formation. This may well suit three moderately sized Europeans. It is, however, a more complex proposition when one member of the travelling party measures 6 ft 5.
Following robust feedback in the Twisty Di** WhatsApp group, I have reflected deeply on my performance as Trip Organiser. While my historical record in this role has been strong, this booking will be remembered as a humbling chapter in an otherwise decorated career.
Lessons have been learned. Height and the aforementioned 6 ft 5 individuals last minute decision making will be factored into future procurement decisions. N/A

- Kimberley (6/5): - Value was pretty good. Location was excellent. Staff were lovely. Pub food was tasty. Discount at restaurant when you stay which is fabulous. There are no tea/coffee or toaster facilities in the room. Rooms are up multiple flights of stairs with no disabled access to rooms. Hard for people with mobility issues. Not a fan of shared bathrooms, but they were clean. Would be great for younger family.

- Malin (6/5): It was a good place to stop and rest at. Food was good and staff helpful. Great location. - Great location! A bit noisy and the windows in our room would not stay open.
Bedding on top bunk had sand all over it.
Otherwise good.
- Lynne (6/5): - The room was good value for money if rather small. On the night we stayed, which was a Saturday, there was a very loud disco, but it did finish before midnight as promised.
- mark (3/5): Is this a guest house or a halfway house for disadvantage who have no alternative, is it a step above being homeless but - A unique opportunity to stay above a pub in the heart of Apollo Bay , close to beach and main shopping area. Being blessed with a historic rooming house it should be a no brainer to clean, toilets, showers, hallways and perhaps throw away broken bits of furniture and fixtures. Lazy attitude towards this accommodation aspect of the business if I was to suggest anything please get another service provider to look after this accommodation and maybe get a new playlist for the pub.
- Rahul (6/5): Location is good - Great location Washroom an room should be more hygiene
- Krutika (1/5): - Location The bedsheets were not cleaned... there was something like blood stain on the bedsheets.... the ladder for the bunk bed was broken and ended up hurting one of the person in the family... and it was a major safety hazard... the TV even though shown in pics and all were not working... it wasn't explicitly mentioned but bathroom and toilet was shared with just 2 available over 8 rooms with family bookings... the bunk beds slats were moving and was again quite dangerous for the person sleeping under not knowing if something might fall
- Joseph (5/5): - Staff were nice. Loud at night, not enough sound proofing. Bad value.
- jean paul (5/5): Très moyen - L'emplacement La chambre a besoin d'être rénovée : mobilier, moquette, fenêtre...
- Nathan (6/5): - Great location, small space. Expensive for what was essentially a closet room
- Mallory (1/5): Horrible, stay anywhere else - We didn’t like anything. Dirty bed, old bed, holes in mattress, loud, dirty bathrooms
- Oliver (6/5): -
- Daniel (2/5): Nie wieder. - Lage Laut.
- Bryson (1/5): Overpriced thumbs down accommodation - Location OK No tea and coffee making facilities are available.
No TV controls and extremely small screen
No ensuite.
Shared toilets dirty and disgusting
Taps faulty
Noisy till midnight
Crampy room
Staff are more interested selling beers
- Danyel (6/5): - View of the ocean Cleanliness
- Claire (6/5): - Good location, great price in comparison to other options in the town. The cold tap in the womens shower didn't work, and the hot water was very hot, so I couldn't use the shower.
- Otto (10/5): - Excellent
- Greg (10/5): Fun n relaxing too - Central to town, great friendly staff n pub plus entertaining live band
- Aitor (6/5): Enough for a night - Good location, good food downstairs. Good enough for a night. Confortable beds, heater, tv in the room. Bathrooms are old and in poor condition, but we didnt need more for a night.
Music and noise from downstairs until the music is turned off.
- Ajit (8/5): -
- Carl (6/5): - No remote for the tv
- Brenda (8/5): -
- Ravi (1/5): -
- Mondostraw (8/5): Adequate for a night stay. - Great location but they need better beds. They did not seem very friendly. Better reception. Better beds, perhaps a TV.
- 바람 (1/5): It must be the worst one until my becoming Genius Level 3. - Only the location was not bad. No drinking water, no coffee pot with instant coffee. No pillow covers. Unkind staffs
- Vivienne (5/5): - Very good location Noise from bar til late
- Lorraine (4/5): Rooms are clean but outdated as are the toilets/shower. Beds were uncomfortable - Room was clean Noisy. Toilets were old. One staff member in particular was unfriendly.
- browne (6/5): - The venue had good food at reasonable prices. The bed was comfortable, room was small but good for the price. Nearby parking was great for easy access to the back entrance. Friendly staff. I spent a full day fishing and was looking forward to soaking in the bath. However, I was a bit disappointed as there were no bath plugs. It was late so I didn't bring it up with staff. Note to self, make sure you find the plug when you arrive.
- Caroline (7/5): -
- Sikhamoni (1/5): - Location No staff..no service....no hand wash nothing even in the toilet...even after giving this feedback we were not helped.Pathetic place to stay
- melanie (6/5): - i feel like this place was overpriced for what it was. its literally just a room with a bed, window and sink. oh and it did have a heater, but we didnt use it. the shared bathrooms were very average.
- Dinesh (1/5): -
- Tricia (5/5): Was ok , it was a bed for the night - Left to early for breakfast Room was quite dusty , bed was ok , could have provided 2 glasses to have a drink of water, bathroom was ok and toilet
- Thamiris (6/5): - Location Room
- Robinson (1/5): Nothing positive to say. - Nothing Tiniest room I’ve ever seen. Impossible for two to be comfortable. No room to connect CPAP. Bed very uncomfortable. No internet in room. Explained situation to staff and that we would need to check in somewhere where we could use the CPAP. The staff member said that they would arrange a refund but the refund never arrived. We were ghosted after that. We were lucky enough to find alternate accommodation. Stayed extra nights at great ocean view motel. It was similar in price but a great stay!
- georgia (1/5): -
- Jarmanjit (1/5): Bad -
- Lee (8/5): Very good -
- Robyn (3/5): Can Do Better For the Price - The location is good in the town. The pub area was cozy with log fires and a good atmosphere. Food was good pub food and the staff were efficient. However,
the accomodation was poor and not good value for money. The room was nothing like the picture. Literally a bed in a room, which you could hardly walk around. At least the sheets were clean. One pillow each. Sticky tape on the blind to stick it to the windowsill to cut out the light at night.Carpet dirty. Shared womens shower was dirty and shower a dribble of boiling hot or ice cold water. No bathmat and freezing. Ladies toilet had no soap in the dispenser or anything to dry hands. One thin towell each. Nowhere to make a cup of tea. Way overpriced for the money of $130.
- Leigh (3/5): Poor -
- Lee (1/5): Overall poor experience, wouldn’t recommend - Nothing Property in poor condition and pictures are a misrepresentation of pictures displayed
- Cathy (1/5): Bad - It was very back packing accommodation.
- Lauren (6/5): Cheap, great location. - Location & Price were great. Staff were very friendly and the room was a decent size with sink and queen size bed. The Brewhouse was really great! You stay here for the price and location. Bed was fine, pillows a tad flat. Was a bit noisey around til staff completely went home for the night. Bathrooms are more old than unclean. Couldn’t open a window in our room.
- Erin (7/5): Good - Value for money, decent size, hospitality, sink in room Bathroom cleanliness, water pressure in shower, no microwave/kettle
- Mark (8/5): Great low cost location for us on a Great Ocean Road experience - Friendly staff - good budget accommodation - old style hotel with simple but comfortable rooms and shared bathroom facilities but plenty available and clean Would have been nice to have WiFi but hardly essential
- Srishti (8/5): Very good -
- Ben (7/5): Good -
- Jackie (7/5): Great for one night. - Very friendly staff, great location. The rooms were very basic but clean with clean linen on the beds. Good value for money. The communal showers and toilets were grim and not very clean.
- Sarah (6/5): Staff were friendly, great location. - Close proximity to the beach and shops. It’s a little bit old and run down. Bathrooms/toilets need renovation.
- Daisy (7/5): Good -
- Manthan (8/5): - It was very clean and the room was spacious, although there was some noise from the bar downstairs, overall experience was good.
- Mattia (4/5): Disappointing -
- Raylene (3/5): Poor -
- Hayley (5/5): Fine for a quick stop but don’t expect to feel refreshed. - The staff were great The bathrooms were not good and all soap dispensers in the showers were empty. Felt dirtier after my shower than before which is very disappointing.
Rooms had the absolute bare minimum which is fine. I liked that they had ceiling fans in them.
- Borad (6/5): Pleasant -
- Greenway (4/5): Disappointing - If you are not there to party don't stay there !
My mistake
- Danielle (10/5): Exceptional - Value for money and comfortable Shared toilets to be clean regularly
- Phil (4/5): Disappointing -
- pierrot (4/5): - Main Entrance to Room no good at all and toilet and shower not clean at all
- Mary (7/5): Good -
- Kerrie (2/5): Very disappointed and upset as expected more - Close to everything but that's easy because it's a small town. Rooms are upstairs but can only be reached by an outside metal staircase, I felt uneasy using these and unsafe at night. The rooms were very basic but neat and clean. Shower and toilet very old and original, toilet OK and separate to shower. Shower looked OK but the water was variable, very hot one second and cold the next and all stages in between, not good for the price charged. Way too expensive for what you get.
- Brinley (7/5): Good -
- Michelle (7/5): Good - Close to every thing very comfortable bed just needs a bit of an upgrade but we only wanted a bed so it was fine The only thing we didn’t like was the noise in the bar Friday night it went till 2.30 in the morning
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Jeffrey (8/5): - Friendly staff Quiet and safe. Very clean .
The rooms had a comfy bed and water taps and a support for cases. However there was no chair. Also a tv would have greatly increased the comfort of the room for minimal cost .
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very basic. No mirror, tv, fridge or even chair in the room, just a bed.
- Adriana (9/5): Superb - Nice location. The rooms are basic with the beds and a sink with vanity. It would be nice to have a kettle in the room or in the area next to the community fridge.
- Kate (10/5): Friendly and helpful staff and convenient place to stay - We ended up staying another night because the atmosphere is so positive, we had a great 5 day trip - the convenience of being on the main road full of great places to eat and having the best pub in town at our doorstop was great. A special shoutout to Jacob, Jamie and Chris (the amazing and most contagiously friendly staff i have ever had the pleasure of coming across). The facilities were always clean and i can’t wait to come back again No negatives, i loved the property
- Alberto (4/5): Disappointing -
- Gravelhillbilly (5/5): Only accommodation available in town - Location and free parking. Good food. Apollo Bay was very busy as high season and a beautiful location. This was the only property available when I booked several months before the trip. Room was very basic and shabby. Shared toilet and shower but I knew this when booking and could put up with it for one night.
- Susan (5/5): Passable - It was value for money and when I booked, I wanted somewhere to sleep, not relax in. Our room had a double bunk and single on top small night light and table. We knew it was a luxury spot so it was value for money, clean and bathroom and toilet clean x 2 of each Price
- Kelly (8/5): - We really enjoyed our stay. Was great having the restaurant downstairs and the food was delicious. It was a basic room, but that's all we needed for overnight. Spectacular view of the bay.
- Marie (6/5): Pleasant - Close to everything You get what you pay for
- Carlos (7/5): Good pitstop in Apollo Bay - Good location, at the very end of the beach esplanade. We got a family room, so we had plenty of space. Not the newest furniture, but in very good condition. Shared bathrooms were also quite clean. Towels are included. There’s plenty of public parking places, but they also have private parking right next to the hotel. We stayed there on a night from Thursday to Friday. Music stopped at 22:30h. Not sure if this might be a problem during the weekends.
- Sam (3/5): Priced low for a reason, but the facilities are not really fit for hire unfortunately. Friendly staff, good meals but th - Location was good, staff friendly Bathroom was very unclean, a broken soap dish in the bath that was razor sharp (didn’t notice and our 3 y/o cut himself on it). Room was bare, no tv, no fridge or any facilities.
Only external stairs in use (internal only for emergency, so after our meal we had to go outside in the rain and up a sketchy steel staircase to get to the room).
- Chui-Man Mandy (4/5): - Good for one night stops along the great ocean road, rooms are above the bar — so noise is as expected, but it stopped around 10pm. Washrooms and showers could use an upgrade though. Overall adequate for a budget stay.
- Jamie (8/5): Very good -
- K8sw8ing (8/5): Great beer tasting, old pub experience. - Location in central Apollo Bay.
Awesome beer selection, esp the dark beers. Worth staying on site to be able to do more tasting.
Comfortable bed.
Good value. It's an old pub - so small rooms, old shared bathrooms etc. Window didn't open. Limited access to one side of the bed.
Fairly early bar closing on the night we were there.
- Jeanne (6/5): Pleasant -
- Karen (7/5): Good -
- Sarah (8/5): Very good - Close to everything we needed. Room wasn’t too flash, just a bed but exactly what we needed for a pit stop over the Great Ocean Road. Staff was lovely.
- Gupta (5/5): Passable -
