- Lauren (9/5): Fabulous! - I have been to this pub many times over the years but never had an overnights stay. Even though the place was absolutely heaving, they managed to make sure we got a table for our dinner! Staff, as always, are so attentive and will make you feel very welcome! Breakfast was great! Lots of options and the service was excellent!
- Sabine (9/5): - Die Lage ist perfekt wenn man runter auf dem Weg zur Fähre ist. Es gibt ein tolles Restaurant, das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück war mega klasse. Es sollten Parkplätze vorhanden sein die nicht reserviert werden müssen. Diese Angabe ist nur zeitweise richtig. Obwohl ich auswählte, dass ein Parkplatz benötigt wird, konnte nur einer etwas entfernt vom Hotel gefunden werden. Den Wagen mit Reisegepäck lassen wir gerne direkt an der Unterkunft stehen. In meiner Buchung gab ich an, dass wir abends gerne essen möchten. Die Antwort war, wir müssen einen Tisch reservieren. Dazu musste im Hotel angerufen werden. Mit der Antwort hätte die Tischreservierung gleich erledigt sein können.

The room was spacious with a very comfortable bed and spotless bathroom overlooking the local countryside. Lovely breakfast included with the option of lunch and dinner in the restaurant. Good veggie and vegan options. A vegetarian/vegan Sunday roast would be great.

- Angela (8/5): Dog friendly staff and great food. - The hotel accommodated our request to bring our dogs at short notice and we were made to feel very welcome in the bar. Staff are very friendly and made a fuss of the dogs. Food was excellent as usual. Room was comfortable. We could adjust temperature to suit with a radiator and a window that actually opens unlike some other hotels. Bed was large and comfy but we could feel it was two mattresses pushed together so not ideal if you want to sleep in the middle of the bed. I understand that you charge for dogs and we are used to paying a charge for dogs in some other hotels but not all. Some accommodation provide a welcome pack for dogs e.g. poo bags, towel, treats and a bowl. We don't expect anything, but it would be a nice touch. We aren't messy guests, we are always respectful of our accommodation and take care to avoid mess. Our dogs are not big shedders so there shouldn't be an extraordinary clean up required after our stay. I appreciate some dogs might be more messy. The charge of £10 per dog would make us favour somewhere else. We appreciated being able to bring our dogs at short notice but the 'dog tax' for one night stung a bit.

They clearly are well led and therefore happy. Clean and tastefully decorated. Large room with lovely views of the hills Food was good and very promptly served. Great storage for our bicycles. Only very slightly dowdy carpeting and some doors needed attention. But overall hard to find anything I didn't like about this great hotel.

- Ailish (10/5): Lovely accommodation, in a very interesting little town with lots to do. - As we were staying in one of the self-catering cottages we didn’t take the opportunity to eat very often in the restaurant, but when we did, the food was delicious, and well presented. Service very friendly and attentive but relaxed. Next time we’ll use the restaurant and bar more as it is so pleasant.

- Susan (8/5): Pleasant stay - Very confortable room, well serviced daily. Slight irritation - there was no electric razor point in the bathroom. We used a socket in the bedroom, with adapter plug, to charge toothbrushes. Simple breakfast menu although it was adequate. Helpful chef though, who was willing to accommodate requests where possible.
- P&l (9/5): Brilliant country hotel, well set up for cyclists - Really good hotel for cyclists, and nowhere is too far to walk in Innerleithen. Great lock-up at the rear of the hotel for bikes. Rooms were super-comfy, large, good shower etc. Breakfast was really excellent - everything we had was awesome. The staff were all chatty and welcoming. Went round the corner for a curry and next door to the micro-brewery bar for beers, so couldn't comment on the food/drink service. Highly Recommended Nothing really at all. Didn't eat dinner here as we went out for a curry, but if dinner is as good as breakfast, you'll be fine.
