- Sandi (9/5): - Room 5 was very quiet and peaceful. Basic but functional for the purpose of the stay. Also bed very comfortable.
- nabila (7/5): Convenient place with communal kitchen facilities - Location and good size room Can get noisy and toilet space very basic
- Farjana (5/5): It was comfortable and staff was friendly - Good Wasn’t bin in the bathroom
- Mr Davion (9/5): - The size of the room, spacious and clean. The heating was perfect. Convenience is wonderful, there is a Co-op to buy the things you need and a fast food restaurant (Burgers, fries, etc...) Stay was too short!
- Gilbert (6/5): -
- sikandar (4/5): Uncomfortable - Location only No glass in room poor heating shower needs replacing
- Lois James (7/5): -
- Syed Shujaat Raza (10/5): -
- Richard (8/5): Was only that one problem - Quiet and quite reasonable rooms . Only problem is the lack of parking at the hotel . As above lack of parking
- Gilbert (7/5): Good, local space, with nice front office personnel. - The room is comfortable; however, the heating in the main room is not good comfort, nice bathroom space and overall good VFM
- Jannett (8/5): - So close to the city centre, Bathroom needs a tidy, and a lick of paint.
But clean .
- Paul (8/5): Good value - Clean efficient Hallway smelt bad, room smelt a bit, bed was a bit soggy
- Caro (8/5): -
- Gilbert (8/5): Good, VFM - Nice and clean Radiator in bathroom not on

- Gilbert (7/5): Goood value for money, close to the office, clean space and a very good welcome from the person at the front desk. - The space was clean, tidy and functional Too noisy
- Charley (1/5): We didn’t end up staying , we left after check out because of the room - Nothing Stains on bed sheets , room as filthy, room was not how pictures described
We ended up booking another hotel and leaving
We would like a refund. IT WAS AWFUL
even for a 3 star you’d expect a clean bed
Could you please contact me about issuing a refund as we are upset we had to pay for an additional hotel due to the state of it
- audrey (9/5): Excellent Stay at The Gables Leicester. - The cleanliness and calm of both the building and the room.
Self catering and seating area complete with TV and charging points.
The explanation upon arrival which on duty staff in Reception gave me. Well when I first used the bathroom the metal towel holder fell off the wall and narrowly missed my foot. I placed the metal holder on the toilet. Upon departure I reported this to the male member of staff at Reception and he assured me that maintenance work is ongoing and the matter would be attended to. I left a paper report in the room. Also internet connection was difficult despite being given the correct log in details. The self catering kitchen area upon previous visits had bread proidhe etc. Not so upon this visit. The tea and coffee canisters need to be replenished.

- kerry (8/5): Comfortable stay - Bed comfortable, Room nice and warm. Shower hot, Room nice and clean. Nice to have a iron and ironing board.
- niomi (8/5): - Very comfy bed, the heating was on and the room was nice and warm when we arrived. The shower was a very nice large shower The smell of the drains was very strong and filled the room, especially when the shower was used. It was not very pleasant at all
- Roksana (5/5): -
- Paul (10/5): Absolutely fine. Staff was helpful. Nice stay - Clean ,comfortable and inexpensive. Nothing
- Fredrick (10/5): -
- lynne (10/5): comfy very good value - staff were friendly
location was good
the price was very good i dropped a pill behind the bedside cabinet on finding it the dust behind it was very thick the bedside cabinets and the bed have clearly never been cleaned behind.
- Diana (8/5): -
- Jabbar (7/5): -
- Louise (1/5): Awful. - Room did not have any windows nor an internal lock. It was clean. The bed was comfy. But the stench of grease coming from the burger bar was repulsive. I had to leave and book a hotel elsewhere. As above
- Ruhi (7/5): - Location Not enough carpal
- munshi (1/5): -
- Mishal Shan (5/5): -
- Schofield (7/5): -
- Mark (10/5): Brilliant - Clean room everything I need central to where I was going Nothing
- Jennifer (8/5): Convienei - Bed and room good, bathroom clean and shower working well Milk for tea and more tea bags. Two cups and a glass would be good.
Entry to the next room is close to mine.
- Ethan (8/5): -
- David (10/5): -
- Mrudula (4/5): - Bathroom radiator was dirty, floor not clean, very noisy room as all noise from outside came through.
Website indicated kitchen but did not say shared. Kitchen fridge was disgusting, deep freeze had open frozen meat and loose vegetables - perfect for bacteria.
- David (10/5): -
- Harbhajan Kaur (8/5): - It’s a good hotel in the centre of the city . Very clean. I had the room on 2 nd floor and strived bit late from meeting. There was a gentleman outside the door smoking who got me-in and checked in. I asked for fire door etc and he told me .
The room was clean , there was a kettle but no tea cups saucers ! No bins in the room or toilet. There was only one plug right under the table which was difficult to get to. Soap dispenser in shower was not working. If you can sort these little things , it will qualify for excellent. Thanks
- Michael (6/5): - It's relatively cheap so I wasn't expecting the Ritz and that's fine. Importantly, the bedding, towels and shower were clean enough and on the surface things were OK.
However, the kettle was extremely grimey inside to the point where I didn't use it and I'm not that fussy. Looked like some food residue left in there where a previous tenant has boiled something other than water and the it's just been giving a rinse.
Shower gel dispenser was empty which was annoying and the place could probably do with a deep clean every so often. The room was also pretty baron and depressing in terms of decor, escaped for the evening to a localish pub down the road and couldn't wait to get out in the morning.
If I stay in Leicester again I'll choose somewhere else for similar value but I would stay again if this was my only option given it's low price. I just wouldn't really look forward to it.
Staff at check-in were helpful though and there for what I needed. Also able to get a parking spot without having to pay a charge which is also a plus point.
- Caro (2/5): - Clean enough room, pleasant staff member, but omg awful room, depressing, noisy, terrible bed, lumpy pillows, rough towel, so basic it felt like prison. I’d rather nick something from the co-op next door and spend a night at wormwood scrubs.
- Caroline (6/5): Basic room for a basic price - Easy to find but very little onsite parking. Reception staff were polite. Room basic but reasonably clean. Could do with a lick of paint and a bit of maintenance (shower dripped all night), towel rail loose on wall. But bed was comfy and good local info in the folder. There is very little sound insulation! Got woken up at 6am on Sunday morning by two men having a very loud conversation which went on and on! Woken up a couple of times in the night by other guests too.
Overall, you get what you pay for; it was a decent enough bed for the night but glad it was only one night.
- Isla (10/5): Great deal, wonderful location, residential area. Walked in and out of Leicester City Centre - Location, facilities, CO-OP below. Parking either at the property or side street, 50 yards away.
Staff lovely and accommodating. Trouble with TV controls. Needed batteries.
- Bogda (6/5): - Location. Shared kitchen / dining room. Good sized bedroom. Had to ask for towels as none in room.
- Izmir (9/5): -
- Steve (8/5): Good value and mostly positive experience. - Pleasant and polite staff.
Room was clean and tidy.
Good location Quite a bit of traffic noise.
Dan did not work.
- Guest (7/5): - Comfy bed. Nice shower room.
- Huxley (8/5): -
- Piotr (5/5): -
- Vanessa (6/5): - Concept of aparthotel Spiders and cobwebs throughout building especial in staircase leading to room.
- Chris (10/5): -
- Max (2/5): Nightmare. Worst hotel experience I have ever had! - Absolutely awful.
Upon checking in I realised my room (room 9) was directly above the kitchen of the burger place next door, the ventilation system for which is right underneath the floor, with the venting right next to the room window! The entire room absolutely stank of stale burger grease and the air was thick with oil.
Both the wooden floor and the pages of guidebook on the bed were stuck together with grease. The ventilation vibrated the entire room, and was incredibly loud. There was constant banging and crashing from the kitchen below. The whole first floor wing of the building was incredibly warm, presumably from the kitchen below as it wasn't a warm day.
My only hope was that after the burger place closed at 2am they would turn off the ventilation... 3am came and it was still going. After 3 hours of trying to sleep in that hell hole I decided to end my stay in Leicester early. I threw my key card in the box at reception and made the 2 hour drive home, leaving my friend who I'd booked a different room for. Completely ruined my weekend plans.
How anyone can think this is an acceptable place to have a anyone (let alone a paying guest) sleep is absolutely beyond me. I'd go so far as to say environmental health should investigate, because I'm not convinced it is even safe.
I'd like to request a full refund for my stay, as well as my friends room which I paid for.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable bed - Good communication regarding check in and friendly greeting at reception. Comfortable bed. Building a little tired, but reasonably clean (a few cobwebs around the ceiling). Replacement window in the room but original old window in the bathroom. Needed the window open at night (no air conditioning) and on Saturday night there was some road noise. Only three pillows, but we did not ask for an extra so another my have been available on request. Bedding was clean and good quality. We did not use the shared kitchen and lounge facilities but they appeared to be quite spacious and clean.
Parking is very limited (three spaces) and based on previous reviews we decided to park in a nearby street rather than get hemmed in. Used as a base to attend a one day cricket match: a 40 minute walk to the ground.
- Lauren (8/5): Good value for money. Get what you pay for - Cheap you get what you pay for. Comfy beds and clean. Staff are helpful and nice Was very hot in the rooms and some of the fans don’t work but the man on reception was able to fit it for us
- Emma (2/5): Avoid at all costs - I booked 4 rooms for staff memebers.
They reported the rooms were dirty and smelly. One staff member said he was itchy after sleeping on the bedding too.
It is advertised as having parking however this also was not the case.
- simon (2/5): worse night sleep ever - worse nights sleep ever. window view was a massive aircon duc pipe and very load all night long
- Louis (6/5): -
- Nina (4/5): Cheap and convenient but wouldn't stay again. - Convenient location. Comfortable bed. Room was 2nd floor (no lift) - very small window so stuffy and claustrophobic and too warm. There was a fan but it didn't work. Only tea and sugar - no milk or coffee with the kettle.
- Jannett (8/5): - Good location, comfortable bed. Lovely shower Bathroom could be cleaner,
- Tavinder (6/5): - Bed very comfortable
- Bruce (10/5): A good stay with decent room. - the room was clean and bright. Had a desk, comfy bed, good shower.
it was much better than some of the reviews. Maybe I was there at a good time during summer holidays and not so busy. But I liked it and would visit again.
Easy to access. Two different people on reception at different times. Guy was good and helpful, lady not any kind of communicator. but at least there was someone there when needed. Really nothing to complain about.
- Fraser (8/5): Very good -
- Ateka (5/5): Passable -
- Mo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sirah (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely reception at desk very nice
- Marc (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mala (5/5): Passable -
- Lisa (8/5): Clean, comfortable and good value for money. - It was very warm in the room and the window when opened got all the smell from the burger shop below which wasn’t the best. Air con would be good.
- Barber (10/5): Excellent value for money - Greeted by a lovely young man who was very helpful. Then did his best as it was a very hot day and changed our room to one that wasn’t in the sun as much. The room was of good size, clean and very accommodating. Then the bed. The bed was sooo comfortable. We actually took the make of mattress down to look into buying one. It’s a very good quality mattress. Nothing not to like. Great value
- Kevin (7/5): Good -
- Jannett (8/5): Very good - Location, comfortable beds, brilliant shower. All ok
- Anna (10/5): - Very cozy, comfortable and very clean place. Service at the reception at the highest level.
- Bakhtiari (9/5): Very satisfied - Welcoming staff, easy to check it and check out, clean, comfortable bed, very good shower, good facilities including communal lounge and kitchen. Next to Co op store for shopping essentials, food and drink.
- Sean (2/5): Avoid this place - the way the place was advertised it seemed like a reasonable hotel but was nothing more than a hostel
- Naeem (6/5): - The room was a good size, location was great.
The amenities could have been better and I think a mini fridge with water bottles would have been ideal as we stayed during one of the hottest nights. A fan was provided but AC would have great. Window didn’t open fully so we were left uncomfortably hot. The lobby was a bit dated and the stairs leading up to our room smelt musty and wasn’t very pleasant.
- David (8/5): - The rooms are very good, Kitchen area has everything you might need, nice dining area, friendly helpful staff. There is a Co-Op built into the building, so perfect for buying fresh food etc.
The thing that means, I cannot give a great review, is I was allocated bedroom 9, which has the fan for the pizza ovens, for the restaurant below, the fan is incredibly loud & is not turned off overnight. I am lucky & can sleep thru anything, but I am pretty sure, most people could not!
For me the property was great, close enough to walk into the city, but there are plenty of buses, if you are less able.
- Samantha (8/5): Good place to stay for a simple, comfortable room - Comfortable, simple room - nice shower and excellent location.
- Sean (10/5): - GREAT AS ALWAYS
- David (7/5): Good -
- Construction (7/5): Good -
- Richard (9/5): Clean and adequate no complaints - Quiet and clean Could have done with another pillow each and no parking
- Paul (6/5): Good value but need better / firmer matterus so poor sleep - Very good value and lovely big bathroom and shower Really need to have a firmer matterus for my back the bed was soft and very hot in the room ( no obvious AC )
- Iain (10/5): - Communal kitchen and dining/sitting room with a co-op round the corner, or restaurants/cafes a few hundred metres away. Very clean and low cost rooms.
- Fernando (7/5): Good -
- Fernando (7/5): Good -
- Chikuza (8/5): Very good -
- Megan (9/5): Great value - Comfortable bed and great shower. Limited parking on site.
- Atul (7/5): Flexistay London Road, Leicester - Well located with clean room and reasonable kitchen facilities. Costa is always friendly and helpful but only works in the evening in Reception. Sadly, Flexistay has deteriorated under new management. Rooms look tired but clean, mattress was too soft, shower was OK, kitchen facilities have decreased (coffee machine not functional) and general attention to detail is lacking! E.g. a couple in a double room only given 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel. Common sense should prevail.
- Elizabeth (4/5): Disappointing - Room not as on photographs. Disappointed. More basic than advert indicated
- VAISHNAV (8/5): - Happy
- Howard (10/5): Great place for a couple of days - Hotels are really all about the staff. In this case the staff could not have been more helpful pleasant or welcoming.
- Jasminder (8/5): Pleasant stay, would visit again! - Because of delays of our flight we got there later than expected, but the hotel staff were very accommodating and received us really well. The room was clean and so was the bathroom. We were provided with a little heater as the central heating was not working, so that was a added bonus. Would definitely stay again. The only downside is that the parking at the location is very limited but there are streets close by where you can park for free.
- Neil (8/5): Very good - Convenient for Leicester Demontford hall just 20 minutes walk or a handy bus stop right across the road. There is a well stocked shop and a takeaway attached to the hotel. Accommodation is quite basic but enough for my needs with clean rooms and showers and a communal kitchen/dining room.
This is the fourth stay I've had here and I will return. They used to have an excellent coffee machine in the communal area but it hasn't been working for the last two stays.
- Denias (9/5): Superb - Environment and staff
- Keith (6/5): - Room clean and more spacious than expected. Staff seemed polite and helpful.
Hotel quiet but on a busy and very noisy road. Traffic noise through the night.
No net curtains. If you want privacy you have to pull blinds down and lose daylight.
On-site car park is a joke: only two painted spaces. Up to five cars jammed into a tiny area blocking each other in. You will be parking in a nearby street, where it was easy to find a space.
Kitchen/dining area looked clean and well equipped, probably little used. There's a co-op store and burger place under the hotel for obtaining food.
