My wife needed a couple days of rest and relaxation and it was the perfect place. The cabin was very clean well kept up with all the amenities and very cozy. We will definitely be coming back.
- Z6122NJsethm (10/5): Cozy Comfort and Great Conversations in the High Peaks! - The Bark Eater is a very special place in the heart of the High Peaks region of the Adirondacks. This farmhouse has been meticulously restored and decorated with a real aesthetic touch. The owners, Meghan and Tyler, are very warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the region. Their daily breakfasts were a highlight of our stay, in preparation for our hiking and cross-country skiing adventures. The guest rooms are spotless and a great place to relax after a day of exploring. Ours, the Birch Room, had amazing views (6 windows!) of the fields and mountains. We felt like we could spend the cold winter months warming ourselves in the sitting room by the well-stocked wood stove. Also, there are hiking /skiing trails on the property, and one day we explored them for two hours and loved it! We will definitely come back!

- roberthE5696WA (10/5): Outstanding Stay in the Adirondacks in Late October - Always wanted to hike in the Adirondacks and chose the Bark Eater Inn merely because of its proximity to the chosen trailheads - what an excellent choice! This historic inn, once a stagecoach stop in the 1800's, exceeded expectations for our 3-day stay. Walking in the door, we were greeted with fragrant scents of herbs and history. Our hosts were warm and friendly and a shout out to Tyler for suggestions for activities and evening dining. Our first floor Maple Room had its own bath, a plush, comfortable queen-sized bed, and outstanding views from the covered porch. Breakfasts made from locally sourced ingredients were delicious and filling. The fare included sourdough French toast, oatmeal and apple crisp with eggs, and Wynde Kate's wonderful shakshuka. After hours on the trails, we recovered in front of the woodstove insert in the evening. Go, don't even hesitate!!

- Navigate726240 (10/5): A Special Place - We had a small wedding at the Bark Eater in May 2025. Meghan did an amazing job not only planning the event but officiating the ceremony. My wife and I highly recommend the Bark Eater not only as a place to get married but also for a vacation stay while enjoying all that the Adirondacks High Peaks region has to offer. We have stayed there several times over the years while cross country skiing in the winter, kayaking in the summer and hiking all year round. And it turned out to be a special place to get married. Meghan and Tyler are warm and hospitable hosts, make fantastic breakfasts, and are happy to share their knowledge of places to go, things to do, and local restaurants for dining. The rooms in the Inn are very comfortable and there is a shared living room with a fireplace that's just great in winter. We highly recommend the Bark Eater!

- actaeai (10/5): Retreat Facilitator Review - The Bar Eater Inn is one of my favorite places on earth and I keep coming back for more. It is cozy and warm like a friends home, and as clean, beautiful, and comfortable as a fancy resort. The linens are so luxurious, you just soak into the bed and get incredible rest there. The gardens continue to blow me away year after year with the incredible variety and color and thought out design. Meghan and Tyler and the whole team are incredible hosts. This time I was here facilitating a small group retreat, the August Herb Camp. With all of the physical details taken care of and knowing Meghan and Tyler were holding space for me allowed me to focus entirely on my own classes and facilitating the event, freeing up so much mental energy for me. It allowed me to be able to drop in with my group and relax much more than when I have hosted similar events at my own farm. Everyone had a great time and can't wait for next year. I think the Bark Eater Inn was made for small group adventures and retreats, offering both luxury accommodations and camping options, the trials and pond to explore, the magical gardens, the commercial kitchen our chef was able to use, the dining and living room shared spaces for gathering and classes, and the yurt which was amazing for Meghans yoga and breathwork sessions we hired her to teach as part of our program. It really has got it all.

Our room was lovely and super comfortable. The Inn sparkles and is super clean. The breakfast each morning was beyond delicious. We felt like we were staying with friends in the beautiful home. It was so serene to wake up on their beautiful property with the view of the gardens and the mountains. The colors were at peak this time of year and the restaurants they recommended were excellent. We will return again and bring our friends and family.

- 335audricj (10/5): The BEST EXPERIENCE one could ever ask for! - This is the kind of place that is rare to find these days when looking for a truly wonderful and peaceful get-away experience. Meghan and Tyler (the caretakers & hosts) have created an environment that truly met all my wishes for a place I felt totally welcomed and at ease. What more can I add... well plenty. The property, the setting, and the scenery beyond is just stunning. The room ( I happened to stay in the "Cedar Room") was impeccably clean when I arrived for my three day stay. The included breakfast can't be beat... no need to waste any time or money seeking a great satisfying breakfast anywhere else. And breakfast time is a good time to get to know about some of the other guests, that also feel the same way I do about Bark Eater. I was also impressed at how quite the night was, and the comfort of the bed. The Bark Eater's expansive open "Meadows" area, with seemingly a couple miles of easy trails to explore, is a great feature that you just won't find anywhere else. Best of all... the hosts (Meghan and Tyler) are very kind, accommodating, and interesting people! They work very hard to make this place as special as it is! I highly recommend Bark Eater when visiting the High Peaks Region of ADK.

The best thing for us was the property which includes a forest, fields of wild flowers and a pond. Can't ask for much more. Breakfast was great as well. As usual, innkeepers Meghan and Tyler couldn't have been better hosts!

Along with the bride and groom, both sides of the family gathered at the inn where Meghan and Tyler made us all feel most welcome. The breakfasts on both mornings were absolutely delicious and modifications were even made to accommodate a dietary restriction. Our beds and pillows were very comfortable, which made for a good night's rest. The grounds are absolutely beautiful with an abundance of perennial flowers, annuals, and hydrangeas - some of which were the biggest i have ever seen. Most ingredients for the breakfasts were either grown in their green house or sourced from nearby farms. If you are looking for a bed and breakfast for a getaway, special celebration, or a quiet retreat, Meghan and Tyler will do their best to make your stay a happy one.

- G3574RWsarah (10/5): Quiet, cozy and luxurious destination. - This was our third time at Trillium Cabin, and as always, we had a wonderful vacation! The expansive grounds of The Bark Eater are gorgeous, we explored its fields, woods, and waters, and didn't have to leave anywhere to be immersed in nature. Trillium cabin was a cozy, comfortable, private cabin. Dinners at 46 restaurant a stone's throw away were delicious, and the cabin's little kitchenette was perfect for breakfasts and quick meals. Coffee on the deck, listening to birds and frogs was magical. We'll be back!

The Inn is surrounded by Mountain View’s and February snow covered fields. Upon entering this beautifully restored, immaculate, tastefully, decorated Inn we felt right at home. Luxurious bedding was a delight. The farm to table breakfasts were a perfect start to the day. The love and care of the property to ensure guests have a restorative stay was achieved for us thanks to our gracious Inn Keepers, Megan & Tyler. We will be back!

We took over the whole house, and could not have enjoyed ourselves more. Bedrooms all were clean, Comfortable and beautiful. The morning breakfast buffet was farm fresh and expertly prepared. The young owners of this beautiful spot know their stuff! Can’t wait to return in the summer. This place is ideal for the lake placid summer horse show crowd. Our host even lead a yoga class for us - This place is Sensational!
- travelingherbfarmer (10/5): World Class Inn - This place is world class. Honestly, I don't know how they do it! It has all of the comforts, style, and luxuries of an expensive 4 or 5 star hotel with the warmth and mountain town charm of a mom and pop run bed and breakfast. Upon arriving here you immediately feel right at home. I have done a ton of traveling and that is a rare and beautiful feeling to arrive somewhere and feel so welcomed, comfortable and settled right from the start. The bed linens are outrageously comfy white clouds of comfort. The breakfast of local foods both days was incredible. The views are some of the best in the ADK. They really thought of everything. My family took over the whole inn this weekend for our gals trip and it honestly lends itself very well to a whole group experience. We even booked the inn keeper Megan for yoga and breathers classes while we were here which were great amazing. My only tip would be to book it for an extra night than you think you will need because you won't wanna leave. Can't wait to plan the next trip here! Thank you for everything Barkeater staff. ❤️

Yummy breakfast prepared by warm and welcoming staff and innkeepers. Convenient to great restaurants in Keene and Lake Placid. We will definitely be back.

Between the gorgeous landscape, the warmth of the staff, and the inspiring garden we could not have asked for a more perfect place to celebrate our special day. Meghan went above and beyond to make sure everyone was comfortable. She thought of and attended to details I never would have on my own. We highly recommend it! We can't wait to come back to celebrate our anniversaries for years to come.

The hosts: Meghan & Tyler are welcoming, friendly and really great people! Plus they’re such good cooks too, as our breakfasts were delicious! We stayed in the Birch room and enjoyed the size, the comfort, the light, the views & the peace & quiet! There are so many gorgeous areas to explore on the property and found that our daily morning walks through the pollinator garden, down the stream over the bridge & through the woods were refreshing starts to our stay! Loved every moment spent here & would return in a heartbeat!

A Place that provided a local grown fantastic breakfast and comfortable accommodations away from busy life of a town or city. A small privately owned place owned by young couple that believes in living a life in harmony with all life on our planet.

- Ariel (10/5): Beautiful, relaxing, and delicious breakfast - We stayed at the Bark Eater for a long weekend, and it was absolutely wonderful - definitely one of the best places I've stayed, and we travel a lot. Meghan and Tyler are warm and welcoming hosts who make you feel at home, and give you lots of space to go about your business. We loved the room and the bed, the delicious breakfast every day, living room with cozy fireplace, and the trails around the B&B, which were lovely for a morning walk. I would highly recommend this B&B for anyone looking to relax and be taken care of on a beautiful farm property.
