• Carolin (5/5): Viel zu teuer für was man bekommt - Die Unterkunft hat uns enttäuscht. Nur die Lage war super, direkt in der Altstadt. Das Zimmer war sehr kalt da es direkt draußen liegt. Auch sauber war es leider nicht, die Bettwäsche roch gebraucht und die Matratze war extrem durchgelegen. Alles insgesamt in die Jahre gekommen und wenig liebevoll gemacht. Viel zu teuer für die erhaltene Leistung.

• Idália Oliveira dos Santos (5/5): Boa estrutura, mas o serviço e a comunicação deixaram a desejar, gerando frustração com cobranças - La estructura del hostel es buena La estructura del hostel es buena, pero tuvimos problemas significativos durante nuestra estancia relacionados con la comunicación y los precios. Check-in: El recepcionista francés (quien solo hablaba francés) tuvo enormes dificultades de comunicación (no hablaba español ni portugués, y su inglés no era claro). Cuando preguntamos por el pago, que en Booking era para nuestro grupo de 3 personas, solicitó el cobro individual. Al cuestionarlo, solo respondía: "I am a volunteer." Resolución del Pago: Finalmente pagamos el valor original de la plataforma Booking (el correcto para las 3 personas). Se nos indicó hablar con otro empleado al día siguiente. El nuevo empleado, que sí hablaba español, nos dijo que el cobro adicional que nos intentaron aplicar era un "error de la plataforma Booking, que estaba loquita", y por eso no nos cobró el valor extra. Desayuno: A la mañana siguiente, un nuevo empleado ofreció el menú de desayuno. Al momento de cobrar, añadió $1.000 COP al valor individual, alegando que el precio del menú estaba desactualizado. Recomendación: Sugerimos mejorar urgentemente la capacitación del personal en manejo de precios, el conocimiento de las tarifas de la plataforma y garantizar personal con comunicación básica en idiomas relevantes (español/inglés) para la recepción.

• Mateus (5/5): Great location, but this is NOT a place to stay - Super convenient location, good breakfast options because it is a cafe, comfortable beds and clean place overall This is clearly a cafe, not a hostel. The access to the dorm was very easy for the customers and the door could not be locked because one of the employees was sleeping in there. No such thing as curtains for the individual beds. The worst part by far is the night support. Literally went out for dinner, never got a key for the front door (“just ring and we will open it for you”) and, guess what, I was stuck outside in the street with no way to communicate with the hostel staff. Because it was getting late and there are some homeless people nearby, I have decided to call an Uber and go somewhere else for sleeping. The Uber driver was such an angel because, on the way to the new place, he got mad with this situation and ended up calling El Yarumo to fix it. Not sure how he did it, but was much more helpful than the hostel staff itself.

Very safe since the front door always was opened and closed by the staff. No heating in the room. Clean but for us, who are old, rather small and uncomfortable toilets.

• Robles (1/5): Pesima - No se comprende por qué razón si se tenía una reserva hecha con número de confirmación de booking al llegar al lugar ellos afirman que no hay ninguna reserva, de manera contundente me expresaron que no me alojarían y lo más preocupante es que estaba en una zona y hora insegura y no respondieron de manera efectiva, me hicieron una reserva a otro hostal, sin embargo, al llegar al otro hostal no había ninguna reserva, muy preocupante la atención tanto de la dueña como la asistente, es de resaltar que no recomendaria en absoluto este hostal.

• Astrid (4/5): - Personeel was zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Er was een fout in de booking en men deed wel een effort om dit op te lossen. Goede locatie en wifi. Onverschoonde lakens, want er waren nog haren op de lakens te vinden. Hoofdkussen was zeer slecht, hard. Matras was ook erg onaangenaam, hard en dun. De kamer kon niet verlucht worden. De kamer was aan de receptie waar nog tot laat muziek op stond die je kon horen tot in de kamer. De douches en toilet zijn half buiten.

• Sandra (9/5): - The vibe in general is super nice and I loved the music they played during the day (indie/80s). Rooms were basic but sufficient and clean, the separate bathrooms were clean, too. Pretty relaxing stay in a fantastic neighborhood!! It can get cold during the night, but there is an additional blanket for that. The rooms are not very soundproof but i didn't mind.

• Sarah-Maria (8/5): It was great! - The employees are soo friendly, we felt directly welcomed. Everything was clean and since it‘s a small hostel, you easily meet people. Just make sure you bring some warm clothes with you, since Bogotá is at 2600 meters above sea level and it‘s getting really cold during the night. Thankfully we got more blankets for the second night, they helped a lot!

Lage ist angenehm und sicher. Betten eher kalt und ein bisschen unbequem. WLAN hat nicht funktioniert. Man darf nicht in der Kueche kochen.

• Katharina (10/5): Great stay - We had a fantastic stay at Yarumo Café & Hostel! The rooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable, and the kitchen was well-equipped. Manuel and David were incredibly helpful—always ready to answer our questions about Bogotá and full of great local tips. We also asked them about other places to visit in Colombia, and they had great recommendations for each city. They even waited with us until our taxi arrived at night when we had to leave for our bus, which we really appreciated. Highly recommend staying at here!

• Samuel (10/5): Fantastic magical place! - I stayed at this hostel and it was an extraordinary experience. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming and friendly. The staff was amazing, always willing to help and make me feel at home. The facilities were clean and comfortable, which made my stay even more enjoyable. The location is perfect, close to everything I needed to explore. Also, the activities they recommended me to do in the area allowed me to meet other travelers and create unforgettable memories. This hostel definitely changed my perception about accommodations and I can't wait to go back. I totally recommend it! Nothing.
• Alex (4/5): Awful conditions, would not recommend - Receptionist spoke English and helped me with what he could, a towel when needed, and checking instructions in the night. I was accommodated in a room with 4 beds. First night lucky to be alone, second night just one more guest. First night there was no water, even for toilet, not only for shower or hands. It seems there is a problem in Bogota and they cut their water in rotation. Awful not being able to use normally a toilet and a shower. The room was extremely noisy, u could hear the traffic, people coming and going from hostel, airplanes in the night, everything. Furniture broken and only, door just to be there, 0% sound or temperature insulation. In the night is freezing cold in the rooms and without any type of heating. Bed mattress uncomfortable. And toiles are being jammed when used.
• Josefina (9/5): Great location, super friendly staff, highly recommended - The location is great in La Candelaria. And the staff! They were really friendly and helpful with amazing recommendations for everything, special thanks to Manuel! The room was comfortable, we had everything we needed and there was hot water in the shower. The windows facing the courtyard; you could hear everything happening there. Quiet time starts at 10pm and people respected that by not partying or playing music, but unfortunately even normal speech can be heard in the rooms. Nothing that can’t be solved with earplugs though :)
• Taylor (9/5): Kind staff & great location - The staff were wonderful!! Everyone was so helpful and lovely to chat with. The location is amazing in a great part of candelaria. The hostel is also a cafe so you can get a coffee and/or food there. They provide laundry service and our clothes were returned clean! For my preferences, the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Not the hostel’s fault, but it should be noted that Bogotá has a water crisis and running water is only available every other day. There is a kitchen in the hostel but it can only be used at certain hours since they also use it for the cafe. Overall a very nice place.

Kitchen is available but only for basic stuff, like warming food or using fridge. Shower is hot but the bathroom is cold (no door to keep it warm). Wi-fi is not that good in the dorm.

• Gavin (10/5): Exceptional - Exceptional staff who made my stay amazingly pleasant (the owner is fortunate to have such incredible staff who lift the rating from 9/10 to 10/10)!, facilities were perfect - modern, comfortable & clean, location was excellent & within short walking distance to all local restaurants & amenities! Overall, this was excellent value for money. I would strongly recommend this property if you're staying in Bogotá ☺️🙏🏽 Nothing.
• Aljaz (8/5): Decent average place (definitely not superb), great location, nice staff - Great location, walking distance to plenty of attractions in the area + plenty of restaurants. Manuel at the front desk was very nice and helpful. Quite outdated, I guess I got an older room (not as on the picture when I booked). The mattress on the bed was completely overused and should be replaced. The door has a 2cm opening at the bottom with cold air entering the room (easily fixable). Showers and toilets are outside, there is no door keeping them inside so it gets chilly at night when you go shower. Staff handed me a tablet at check-out and asked me to rate the facility with 10, which I found absolutely inappropriate. I declined as I like to rate my stay independently. I think many guests just do it when asked, hence the very high rating of this place (just my thought). I've stayed in dozens of hostels around the world and this is an average 7.0 - 8.0 place, really nothing exceptional here and certainly not a 10 place.
• Justin (10/5): Exceptional - The location was fabulous. Close to the plaza de bolivar, the monserrate, supermarkets and restaurants. Really convenient to commence your journey from here. Also the accommodation was clean and the staff was nice.
• Smejkal (10/5): Exceptional - The hostel si located in really good area for exploring the historical part of Bogota, very clean, staff si Super friendly, you can feel just good vibes, maybe a little bit more expensive than other hostels, but 100% worth it. Hard to leave the hostel.

• Jrnewmann (7/5): Good not great - Comfortable, calm hostel with good wifi, excellent location, hot water Loud music throughout day and into the night despite no one around, outrageous prices for food and drink, "24 hour" front desk is not actually staffed and there is no way in the front door if nobody answers. The beds are also uncomfortable and the bathroom is kind of far from the rooms.
