• Alia (10/5): Ahmad è l'anima di Al Salam Camp e attraverso i suoi occhi è possibile conoscere la meravigliosa Luxor da prospettiv - L'ambiente è curato e pulito, lo spazio in comune è molto piacevole ma il pezzo forte è decisamente il proprietario Ahmad che ci ha aiutato ad organizzare tutte le attività a Luxor e gli spostamenti in Egitto. Ahmad è una persona gentile e ricca di storie da raccontare, ma anche un buon ascoltatore e disponibile per qualsiasi esigenza. Ci ha permesso di vedere lati di Luxor che non tutti i turisti hanno modo di osservare e nel suo piccolo aiuta la comunità più in difficoltà. La posizione è ottima, essendo vicina al centro città ma comunque distante dal caos e dai rumori. Nonostante il caldo, la nostra camera era dotata di una ventola che ci ha consentito di riposarci senza problemi. I pasti presso il camp erano molto buoni e abbondanti, a prezzi onesti. Abbiamo soggiornato presso il camp per 3 giorni e siamo stati dispiaciuti di andarcene, l'atmosfera era amichevole e di casa. Consiglio a tutti di fermarsi qui, il rapporto qualità-prezzo è ottimo! Torneremo sicuramente a far visita ad Ahmad, ormai diventato un amico. Nulla

The Host Ahmed was nothing short of the beauty and calm his place offered. Very kind and generous as well as mindful. He was great at facilitating activities as well as making one feel right at home. Partiamo subito che la location spacca, ti trovi in un campo di fronte al Nilo, casette blu pieni d gieroglifici nell’ edificio principale con palme e chilling area davvero speciale dove puoi incontrare chiunque da qualsiasi parte del mondo. Molto vicino a tutto ciò che desiderate come ristoranti o barche che vi portino alla east bank, se cercate qualche esperienza in più come Mongolfiera, Cavallo, Biciclette… che comunque considerando che siamo arrivati alla valle dei re con quelle, convengono e rimane sempre un’avventura in più nel diario di bordo. Camere molto ben tenute, c’è l’opzione di prendere una camera con bagno privato e una con bagno pubblico (condivisio con i residenti del campo). Ma la parte più importante è l’host del posto che con i suoi racconti ti fa innamorare di tutto ciò che ha da dirti sul suo passato il suo presente ed il suo futuro, vi sentirete davvero benvenuti nel suo umile regno con qualsiasi aiuto e soprattutto “storie”! Possibili. Consigliatissimo per viaggiatori in solitario o per persone anche in gruppo che hanno voglia di incontrare qualcuno che sta percorrendo la tua stessa strada in un posto magnifico come l’Egitto sentendosi davvero i benvenuti! The host was very helpful and my room was upgraded to one with a private bathroom. I didn't have the meal plan so didn't experience any refreshments. This property is a bit out of the way but since I literally only went here to sleep one night I didn't explore the area. The advertised write up isn't quite accurate. There isn't a hot tub, and my booking said I had a 5 bed bungalow..........nooo it's a bungalow with 5 bedrooms with shared facilities. Towels not provided and the toiletries were a bar of soap. Unfortunately local wild cats were playing/fighting on the roof so sleep was disturbed and the bed/pillow was not very comfortable. Oh well some you win some you lose and to be fair it did the job for one night.
• Rene (9/5): Schöner Urlaub für einen günstigen Preis. - Mir wurde für einen geringen Preis ein Einzelzimmer gegeben. WLAN war gratis, Frühstück nur 150 Pfund. Besitzer, Lagerfeuer. Ahmed vermittelte Taxi und Ballonfahrt. Die Ballonfahrt wurde leider kurzfristig vom Veranstalter abgesagt, Ahmed hat mir aber garantiert, dafür zu sorgen, dass ich diese nächstes Jahr gratis nachholen kann.
• Roselynd (3/5): - Aanvankelijk was de host vriendelijk, maar toen we fietsen hadden gehuurd voor 1/3 van de prijs die hij vroeg bij een andere fietsenmaker is hij heel agressief uitgevlogen tegen ons, wat behoorlijk schrikken was. De daarop volgende dagen voelden we ons heel onwelkom en onveilig in de tuin en de gemeenschappelijke delen. Hij heeft absoluut op een verkeerde manier gereageerd op iets wat geen probleem zou mogen zijn en weigerde ook zijn verontschuldigingen aan te bieden, heel onprofessioneel voor iemand die een guesthouse uitbaat. De locatie daarentegen was heel fijn en rustig, dus jammer van zijn gedrag, anders was het een aangenaam verblijf geweest.

• Joel (10/5): Great backpacker chill spot - Al Salam camp is a beautiful little place, with nice artworks on the walls, comfortable outdoor seats to socialise and lots of plants around. We spent many nights having great conversations with the owner Ahmed, and I think staying here helped me learn more about the real egypt. Ahmed also helps with organising any activities or transportation that you need and for a fair price. Theres a small market next door as well with nice men that charge egyptian price. Theres also a restaurant next door with good egyptian food for around 150LE. Ahmed can provide a good breakfast in the morning for 100LE Al Salam camp is out of town a bit but not too far that its annoying, just enough that you can walk into a field around the corner and watch the sunset in private over the nile. My room had hot water and a fan, overall great value. Keep in mind, booking.com says the double room has two double beds, but it is actually just one. I came with my friend and Ahmed just changed us to the room with two separate beds for the same price.

La propreté des lieux, fourmis dans la chambre, evacuation de la douche bouchée (qui à été résolu directement). Le matelas est très usé, si vous êtes fatiguer ça fera l'affaire.

Ahmed was so nice and helpful, we had super interesting conversations together, he organised a tour with guide and driver for me, and when I got scammed by an alabaster shop he asked the driver to take me back to the shop in order for me to get my money back ! 100% recommended

He could provide us with good tips and likes to talk with his guests. His son is really hard working and keeps everything clean. The yard is really beautiful and feels like an oasis. He helped organize tours and give useful advice to navigate the area. The property is in a quiet area of the west bank, is a 5 min walk south from the ferry and close to the nile. If you choose the huts as budget option don't expect much comfort. The rooms on the other hand are very nice and comfortable with Western style bathrooms, very worth the price. The yard has several benches and tables to comune with other guest or just sit alone and relax. Everything is clean. I would for sure come again when I'm in the area Did I mention that the host was very helpful?

There is also possibility to borrow bicycles or book hot air baloon for good price, although we didn't use that possibility. The place has very relaxing vibes. WiFi was ok. You hear every sound from the common yard, so if you would like to sleep longer, take earplugs ;)

If you wish to avoid street hustles you should always ask Ahmed for guidence. We even rented bikes through him and got a way better price than the streets offered. Al Salam Camp gives you the feeling as you are a local there yourself. And Ahmeds omlette is glorious, deffinetly get breakfast there.

The owner is also nice, after the first night he let us change from the hut to a real room for free. Good, cheap restaurant next door, Rustic House. There was no sheets in the bed, only a blanket which clearly hasn't got washed in a while. Overall everything is a little bit dirty.

• Willibrordus (8/5): Really nice spot, but beware - Don't let the cheap prices of the rooms fool you, they are really nice. The luxurious rooms with private bath are excellent, but I liked the small huts with shared bathroom even better: what they lack in comfort they make up for in charm. The courtyard is very pleasant, breakfast is simply good (they know how to make a good omelette!) and the location is pleasant: last guesthouse on the street (well, sand path actually), so a little isolated but you could consider that a pro. For those who like horse riding: do check out the stables just around the corner! The owner, Ahmed, is a bit grumpy but he's a great guy. But beware, he isn't making much money on the rooms, so he earns money on the services he is able to provide. So far so good, but make sure you negotiate well with him, because he has tricks to talk you out of just a little bit more money than you intended to pay. It's not maliciousness, once again: he's a great guy. But when making deals with him, take a firm stand (but not too firm, you must give the man a break).

• Russ (10/5): Exceptional - Ahmed was so nice and helped us with everything we needed. The little camp is the most relaxing place in luxor, will definitely go back

• Diana (9/5): Comfortable budget stay! - We stayed at the private room, it was big and very comfortable. The location is very close to the nile, around 15 min walking from the public ferry. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast every day, was more than good for the price. The garden was peaceful and there were a lot of baby cats around 😊. The wifi worked wery well. It was clean. Bathroom and shower with hot water, just be sure to bring toilet paper. There is a minimarket 7-10 min away, with local prices, very fair. Restaurants are also close. As most of places in Egypt, there are powercuts daily... I had some and allergic reaction while sleeping the first night, mosquitoes or bedbugs? But my boyfriend didn't. Overall, it's an amazing place for a low price!!
• Claudio (6/5): Pleasant - The location is very closed to the pier so any destination is easy allowed; the staff is very friendly and available for any need The room is very small; the bed is strong so if you suffer of pain at your back ; it is not comfortable; but I was ready to meet some issues ; anyway the price is cheap an it is the best price you can get in Luxor in the good location like this

Really cheap so don't expect a 5 stars hotel. Recommend this hostel. Went biking to the kings valley, best option for me Mattress a bit hard
