Guest Reviews
- Evelyn (10/5): - Vinaka vakalevu for another fabulous stay at our favourite get away on the Coral Coast. Loved the sunset, the hammocks, the live music and the activities at, on and in the crystal clear water. We’ll be back! Sotatale!
- Carla (10/5): - Everything was perfect 5 stars!!
- Albert (10/5): - Accommodation was excellent, you cannot tell by looking at it from the outside. The staff are very friendly but service could be faster.
- Stacey (2/5): - When we arrived, the staff went to charge me even though I had already prepaid. There is no close parking to the rooms, which became a concern as my mother struggles with her mobility. There were ants crawling around the single beds in both rooms we hired. When we told the lady she swapped our rooms. It was dark and the lighting was not good so we had to find our own way around. Then settled one lot of our family only to fins the other room was riddled with ants. We had to wait for the staff as reception had closed for her to tell us she could change the sheet if we wanted. The blankets smelled. The toilets were hard to flush. The shower was pretty but hard to get warm. The beach access and pool was good.
- Evelyn (10/5): - Loved it! Superb little beach resort with a relaxed atmosphere, heaps of activities, and fabulous service. Our room was much more luxurious than we expected - a lovely stay.
- Ashneel (10/5): Great Beach house experience 👌 - Friendly staff.
Beautiful beach. Will return for this.
Limited food choice.
Bed not comfortable
- Shivninder (10/5): - What a hidden gem - must see. Beautiful beach. You can’t go wrong with this place.
- Denyse (8/5): - Stayed in a Frangipani room which was clean and well kept. I did not use housekeeping although we could get them everyday by hanging out a sign. As one person didnt feel the need. The outdoor bathroom was good, water pressure and temperature were good, but I didnt enjoy having to use it at night. Meals were very good with breakfast included daily - yummy scones, fruit, juice coffee, yogurt, cereals. You could buy a cooked breakfast for about $12. Lunches included wraps and burgers and sandwiches - price range $12 - 25 and dinner there were about half a dozen options each night available from 6pm. There is a bar on site and a pool. As an older person with poor balance, I would have appreciated a handrail to access the pool. Consequently I didnt use it. Live music on a saturday night and a mix of older and younger patrons and dorm and individual rooms. Note the frangipani room does not have a fridge. Great tours available through BASE who are based at the accomodation and also an ethical chop/cafe called the projects collective in based on the driveway of the resort.
- Adam (10/5): - Don’t go expecting your standard cookie cutter resort experience! Relaxed vibe all round.
Friendly staff, clean facilities. Outdoor ensuite bathrooms were great! Different dinner menu each day - with plenty of choice. No need to go off site for meals. Very family friendly.
We found it easy to organise activities and getting around was simple. Nearest ATM supermarket 15 min drive up road.
- Miranda (8/5): - Good fun resort with a nice vibe and lovely Fijian style buildings and grounds right on a safe beach.
- Tamsyn (10/5): - .
- Andrew (8/5): - Nice relaxed vibe, good value for money.
- Ian (6/5): - Android attractive beach side location behind a reef so no waves but surfing out at the reef. A relaxed laid back place, probably more aimed towards young people but just fine for others.
The rooms were very basic but ours had an outdoor shower which was great. No shelves or chairs so you just go there to sleep. Isolated location so nowhere else to go in the vicinity. Bus service to town...3/4 ok f an hour?
Really enjoyed our stay...swimming and lazing about..
- Carissa (10/5): - We had an absolutely amazing family stay at the beach house. Slight miscommunication with our rooms but the staff dealt with it professionally and ensured we were comfortable had what we needed. The kids loved the kayaks, snorkelling, table tennis and horse riding. We will definitely be back! Beautiful place, wonderful staff!
- Alexis (10/5): - Beautifully maintained grounds and facilities, private beach with snorkeling, swimming, surfing and sea kayaking off the beach. Wonderful vibe: young travelers and families, respectful and friendly guests. Very friendly and helpful staff. Stayed with family in Garden Hut. Very clean room, firm but very comfortable mattress (queen bed) softer twin mattresses (2) were adequate for kids. Free continental breakfast is sparse but adequate (toast, jam, bananas, coffee, cereal, yogurt). Heartier lunch is available for purchase. Pizzas were great but took >30 min to prepare (Fiji time!). This was the best place we stayed at in Viti Levu. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.
- Ann (10/5): - Loved having coffee on the beach. Quiet. Lovely beach front. Free kayak use in the bay in fridge of property. Felt safe. Delicious dinners.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - This is my third stay here. As usual. Food was awesome. Staff super friendly. Just a great place for young and old. Will be back. Thankyou Fiji Beachouse.
- Chadi (10/5): - Excellent. Food was delicious.
- Karen (10/5): - Absolutely beautiful location, couldn’t ask for a better one. A very relaxed resort not your typical high end resort, but a more localised tropical vibe. There were activities to choose from if you felt inclined and staff were more than happy to suggests localised attractions to visit. Staff were very friendly and competent, nothing was too much trouble. The menu for lunch and dinner offered a delicious variation each day and each meal was outstanding in freshness and flavour. The included continental breakfast was enough to start your day and the bottomless coffee pot was fabulous. My only critique which is only a small one and relevant to our family is it would have suited us to have a small children’s basic menu to choose from, it didn’t need to change daily just have a few standard kids meals.
We were a family of 3 adults and 2 children (9&7)and stayed for 6 nights. Outdoor bathroom was a highlight.
We would definitely stay here again.
- Leanne (8/5): - This property is not your typical resort but a more rustic smaller resort. Rooms are basic but comfortable with the bathroom attached outside. There are no TVs or fridge n coffee making in each room but the kitchen is very accomodating. There are many experiences on offer, and a good but limited menu changing nightly. I caught the bus everywhere and had no problems with transport. I travelled alone and felt very safe at this resort and was treated well with staff and fellow travellers . Lovely little budget resort!
- Stephanie (10/5): Would visit again in a heartbeat! - Great location, it was the perfect mix of resort amenities and tropical paradise that felt like you were one with nature. You walk through a beautiful garden to get to your room, and our unit had an outdoor bathroom with jungle! The tide can get quite low so the area isn't always ideal for swimming, but when the tide is high you can snorkel and kayak (free rental). While the mosquitos weren't ideal, they were pretty much everywhere we were on the island so just be sure you bring repellent for the morning and evening meal times. The staff were friendly and the food offered, while somewhat limited, was a great price. The large number of hammocks overlooking the water are perfect for individuals or couples to relax, and we would happily return to this specific resort any time we visit Fiji for at least a few days of our trip. Had we stayed longer than just one night/day, we would have been able to enjoy some of the tours they offer at very reasonable prices.
- Mark (2/5): - Staff verging on rude. 2 rooms AC didn’t work, 3rd room AC wkd. Resort overpriced for what you get. Rms have no fridge, no kettle or tea or coffee. Body wash was empty. They don’t provide conditioner. Room was not serviced during our stay. Breakfast is corn flakes, weetbix, tea, coffee and toast. Kitchen runs out of dishes. Dinner hours 6pm to 8pm I ordered chicken curry at 6.30pm after some time a staff member came to our table to advise that they had run out of chicken curry. There was still 1 1/2 hours of dinner service left! I changed my order to steak and chips & received a small piece of fatty, grisly steak. My ptnr ordered marinated chicken and received the 2 smallest pieces of thigh the size of 50 cent coin! We had to order a bowl of chips after finishing our meals as we were still hungry after the tiny portions. We didn’t appreciate the many dogs and cats roaming free around the resort particularly when trying to eat.Housekeeping barged into our room at 9am without knocking on day of departure. I asked for banana the reply from the staff member that I was interrupting whilst she was texting on her phone was that is all my dear. Another guest asked for banana after me & guess what they brought him out bananas! Everyone should be treated equally, but not here at Beachouse. You also need to check your bill as they charged us for 7 wines at full price that we had in happy hour. Happy Hour price on blackboard at bar for wine is $6.50 but when you come to pay it’s $7.
- Nazil (10/5): - Excellent 👌
- Lynnaire (8/5): - I like the layout of the accomodation amongst the beautiful lush growth of the gardens. I enjoyed the outdoor bathroom the comfy clean bed and having a fan or air con option. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. Beautiful beach to enjoy and gaze upon, good for the soul.
- Jennie (10/5): - We stayed at Fiji Beachouse for five nights and were not ready to leave. The resort has an awesome view out to sea, and well-maintained greenery across the property – complete with beachside hammocks and chairs. The included breakfast was a very basic continental (toast, cereal, 1-2 types of fruit) and you could pay for a hot breakfast. We ate a few dinners at the resort, the food was good and there are also a few restaurants in the nearby towns (10 minutes by car). They also did a happy hour each day which was well priced. Our room was basic – neat, clean with a cute outdoor bathroom. We also did a day trip out to one of the islands which was beautiful and had some amazing snorkeling. They organise many outdoor adventures onsite – from horse-riding, fishing and boats out to surf breaks. We would definitely stay again.
- Knud II (10/5): - On the ocean, nice setup. Meals were very reasonable. Staff was excellent
- Georgia (6/5): - Lovely friendly staff, helped us find a trustworthy hire car company. Bathroom wasn’t clean from the previous guests
- John (10/5): - Great facilities accommodations and food choices. Friendly atmosphere. Worth the money
- JAMES (6/5): - At night you can hear music till late, but staff is very friendly and helpful. Need more lights on the pathway and entrance. At night its very hard to see. Beach is beautiful. They have a lot of dogs and dog poo is on site grounds.
- Robert (8/5): - It is expensive for what you get [eg no kettle in the room], but it is adjacent to much more expensive Resorts, so, by comparison, it is good value. Rooms have a great outdoor bathroom. It is good for a peaceful and pleasant stay on the beach [not busy like the nearby big fancy resorts]. Restaurant/bar is ok. A very pleasant beachfront setting. I would stay there again.
- Matthew (6/5): - Staff were a bit rude and very loud
- Layla (10/5): - Lovely staff and relaxed down to earth place to be
- Vaitele (8/5): - My short stay was good, service and food was good. The aircon was loud (something inside needs to be fixed) but without it on it was too hot in the room. Overall we enjoyed it and will come back again. Vinaka
- RAVI (10/5): - n/a
- Daphne (10/5): - This resort is relaxing with a beautiful beach, hammocks a plenty, beautiful staff, wonderful massages by women who own that part of the resort themselves. Truly an amazing place.
- Clelia (10/5): - A very much better than expected backpackers. Staff and guests very friendly. Ocean divine at high tide. Facilities very good.
- Samantha (10/5): - The room (Garden suite 15) was excellent. The outdoor bathroom was beautiful. The whole property of the Beach House is delightful, from the plunge pool to the sprawling beach, to the hammocks, to the open air dining...it was dreamy. Loved every minute of our stay and wish we'd been there for longer. It has a breezy and fun vibe, which reminded me of of a hostel, but with some luxury.
- Gitin (10/5): - Great place with great people running it.
- Ignatios (10/5): - Beautiful property to stay near the water
- Fiona (8/5): - No kettle and no chairs in or near the garden huts. It would have been nice to sit around the garden area rather than go to the beach area
- Heather (8/5): - Oils have done with a couple of chairs in the room and no tea or coffee making option in the room
- Kendra (10/5): - 10/10 experience for our 11 nights stay. We absolutely loved it
- zarina (10/5): - Best place
- Amber (4/5): - The Beachouse was ok. We went in knowing it wouldn’t be luxurious. We had rats in our room and didn’t realise until the second last night. We were offered another room and they tried to charge us for that. In the end they decided not to. Food is very expensive so if you are on a budget go shopping before you head there. Overall a nice place but not really suited to children. Snorkeling was average. I’m glad we had a hire car so we could go and visit places in the day.
- Robin (10/5): - warm welcome, nicely isolated but handy for public express bus to/from airport
- Larry (8/5): - Had a nice relaxed vibe to the property. Closeness to the beach was wonderful. Just stayed one night to break up the drive from Suva to Nadi and would stay longer if I was in the area again.
- J (10/5): Kick back heaven. - Wonderful place to chill out. Excellent staff and super friendly. Daily menu changes and great food at a good price. A long happy hour makes it a great place to kick back.
Weather was rubbish this time so will need to return to testthe sunshine.
- katherine (10/5): - Nice staff
- irene (4/5): - I would not recommend this property. It is in the middle of no where. My bed had tiny bugs all over it. This is a VERY basic accommodation.
- Esteban (10/5): - Super friendly and amazing staf
- Rachel Susannah (10/5): - Beautiful, budget friendly accomodation right on the beachfront. The staff are lovely (especially Rosa), the food is great and the property attracts amazing travellers from all around the world.
I would love to visit again.
- matthew (8/5): - Beach
- Verified traveler (8/5): Some good, some not so good…. - This is by far one of the best options on the coral coast. It’s an inviting property, and the hospitality here is huge (I was welcomed with free warm scones and coffee). The rooms are spacious, but the AC is weak due to the open-air concept with the glass shutters (you can’t fully seal the room from the outdoor heat). There were some insects in the room (tiny ones) and a couple mosquitos, but this is a very tropical setting. One resident gecko in my room (HUGE!) kept the insects at bay. The outdoor shower and washroom were lovely (but be aware, the whole world can hear your bathroom noises!). Internet was weak and largely not useful. Beach was great, but the pool is overrun with kids so not ideal - would be good for them to introduce adult only hours. Overall a decent stay with only minor hiccups. Note that you can take a bus DIRECTLY from Nadi Airport to this hotel - it leaves from outside International Departures and costs FJD$12 directly to the resort entrance - super easy. The bus is called “Sunbeam” and they are very familiar with the Beachhouse stop!
- Jess (8/5): - Really lovely rooms with outdoor bathrooms. Nice grounds with lots of hammocks to relax in. Pool is very small. First night there was loud music from the bar until 12am. We asked to move to a quieter room which thankfully by the end of second day they were able to do. Easy to organize boats to local surf spots.
- Greg (10/5): - Boat staff were great!
- Rosalie (8/5): - It was a great stay and experience
Just don’t keep any snacks or food in the room because there are animals that will get in and eat it.
Didn’t realise there was no hot water but the cold shower is actually quite nice when it’s always so hot and muggy in Fiji. Overall really happy with the stay.
- Cade (10/5): - The Beachouse is an excellent place to stay in Fiji. We stayed in a garden suite, it is very basic accommodations, but this wasn't a problem for us. The area is also quite remote, and you will have to travel by car or bus if you want to go anywhere other than the resort. The property itself is beautiful and the staff were excellent.
- Alden (10/5): - Nice hidden gem, friendly atmosphere; guest & staff.
Very warm setting, felt relaxed our entire stay. no pressure hustling for services/selling of goods !
- Richard (10/5): - The second you walk on the property they make you feel like family. Nice beach and commons area. The food was delicious. Playing rugby with the boys 8n the village was also really fun.
- Aleks (10/5): - I loved everything about my stay at the Beachouse! Stayed in the garden 2 hut it was very comfortable with beautiful bathrooms outside. The grounds, the people who work there, the food was amazing, just wish it was a little different breakfast but you can buy additional eggs etc, which is not a problem, overall it was a great stay and if back in Fiji I would stay again!
- Holly (10/5): - The beachouse is a beautiful property right on the water! It is easily accessible from Nadi with a local bus from the airport. There is plenty of hammocks and chairs to lounge by the pool or beach. There are free kayaks to take out or paid day tours. Breakfast is included and was simple but good! The lunches and dinners tasted great and used lots of fresh local ingredients.
My only recommendation is to have lockers in every dorm room. My dorm of 6 beds only had 2 lockers so only 2 people could lock their stuff. It felt very safe and my bags was fine without being locked up but I would have preferred a locker for every bed to have peace of mind.
- shaun (10/5): - Nice chilled vibe liked that it is a smaller property and not a busy resort. Really enjoyed the food lots of healthy fresh options to choose from. The coffee shop had excellent coffee and also a nice chilled vibe and also was able to buy some nice good quality gifts.
- Angela (10/5): - Amazing wee spot highly recommend.
Stunning location, friendly staff.
Delicious daily dinner menu giving home cooked vibes. Complimentary kayak use and games. Great spot for families.
- Margy (6/5): - Basic facilities at room , needed kettle and somewhere to hang clothes
- Kristie (10/5): - This is a very chill spot in Fiji. My favorite part was the hostel bathroom which was outside and amazing. The property is beautiful and right on the beach. The staff is fine. Not as friendly as other places I stayed in Fiji but fine. I only stayed 2 nights but I say if you want to do excursions 4-5 nights be best.
- Leo (10/5): - Beautiful property, awesome quiet and private spot. Chill atmosphere, good food/drinks (reasonable prices), lots of activities (surfing, fishing, hiking, snorkeling, boats trips...). Great spot to relax, family friendly, good for all ages! I'll be back.
- Lubos (8/5): There are better places in Fiji for lower price. - Nice place with a great beach. The breakfast is very poor, I would not call it breakfast. Toast with peanut butter or cereals with milk, nothing else. Not the best when you don’t eat sweet. No warm or hot water at all.
- Tanya (10/5): - Rustic fiji hospitality
- Sissi (8/5): - Beautiful place and beach, nice atmosphere with pool, hammocks and relaxing spots. Tours offered from the hotel (extra costs apply). The food sold by the hotel is affordable and good. They put all your food and drinks on your room to pay at the end, I preferred to pay by day to have a better tracking (and caught up a couple of mistakes).
Breakfast was included.
Staff seemed busy and not so warm when we arrived. Got to know them better later.
We took a small room (Frangipani) with no air conditioning and that was a mistake :-) some shelving would also be appreciated.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean, quiet and well maintained - We had a great stay. The site was pleasant, clean, quiet and well maintained. The staff was helpful and it was very pleasant to be able to stay on the beach after we checked out. I didn't know that the resort was by a tidal beach and the tide was out when we arrived in the afternoon, so we really appreciated to be able to stay a bit longer on the beach the next morning, to make the most of swimming and relaxing. The dinner food (kokoda) was good and breakfast was quite sufficient.
- Philippa (10/5): - An absolute gem!! There is no other place like the Beachhouse in Fiji. Less commercialised than many of the larger hotels, you get a stronger sense of the Fijian way of life staying at Beachhouse.
- Neil (10/5): - A really nice chilled-out place.
- Sema (10/5): - Absolutely loved beach house, wish we had booked more nights. This is our new favorite place in fiji! We stayed with our 3 kid's, 12,9 and 7. They did not want to leave. It's a very basic place, nothing fancy, just a room with bed and night table. Outdoor shower was definitely a memorable experience. Nice small pool, very lush and beautiful gardens, lots of local flowers. The best part was the beach. Beautiful white sandy beach. Just breathtaking views, lots of beautiful corals and marine life to see and explore. Breakfast was basic continental, cereal, toast, fresh fruits and tean and coffee. You can order from the menu too. The food was ok. They didn't have their meat supply on time,so only meat dish was fish and chips for dinner and chicken burgers for lunch. We found the staff were unattentive towards our family. We have visited a few resorts on this trip and by far this ine had the most unfriendly staff. Having said that,we had a chance to meet the owner, very nice, friendly and down to earth person. He has definitely done a fantastic job of keeping this place in a very local way. Majority of the staff were people from the village. Please so buy souvenirs from the ladies by the beach, they work very hard.
We will definitely be coming back to this gem. They had snorkeling, kayaking, surfing horse rides ( extra cost) local tours and lots of great activities. You will never be bored.
- clare (10/5): - On beach, excellent for traveller looking for value for money,,Friendly vibe
- Breanna (8/5): - Loved our stay here. Delicious food, great people and lovely location.
It is unfortunately not beginner-friendly for surfers. They were unable to hire out beginner boards- using foamys only for surf lessons.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - There's differentiation between local and overseas guests. Locals are spoken to rudely at times. Sala was excellent, but she definitely needs assistance because guests waited whilst she is multi-tasking herself. The place was awesome as usual.
- TIM (10/5): Excellent casual resort with backpacker feel - I loved beachouse. Great vibes, location, loads to do. Only criticism is the rooms could be slightly more comfortable though they were fine, and the outdoor showers are v cool
- Leanne (10/5): - Loved our stay at Beachouse. Super friendly staff, lovely food, lots to do or just relax...would definitely stay here again
- Narmadha (8/5): - Great location with activities to do outside such as the pool, kayaking, snorkelling just off the beach. The outdoor yet private toilets were fascinating.
I know it's supposed to be a basic room with no frills but a tea/coffee making facility will make the stay even better. We had a double and 2 single bedded room. The single beds for the kids didn't have a pillow case or sheets. It only had the fitted sheet. Looked like it hadn't been made up properly.
- Emily (10/5): - Excelent staff, fantastic eco friendly place, loved, loved.
Food is really good.
View is amazing!
- asish (10/5): - Nice beach ..very friendly staff..Bruce was owesome
- Verified traveler (4/5): - We had terrible nights each night we stayed there. Management did not control the people after the bar closed with parties continuing until 4am in the accomodation.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff, great location. Restaurant seeves goid food at decent prices. Broad range of activities and beautiful grounds.
Rooms were basic and clean.
- Lynette (6/5): Backpacker heaven - Beautiful location. Basic accommodation & facilities
- Dan (8/5): - Lots to do in and around the hostel, lots of day activities available, well priced drinks, good vibe for meeting new people, breakfast was enough to keep you going!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - friendly atmosphere, snorkeling was poor off the beach
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This fijian family run resort is warm welcoming & relaxing with lots of interaction between staff & guests. The outdoor bathrooms are a private oasis of luxury. There's daily activities available or relax the day away in hammocks along the beach or lounge around the pool. The food is delicious with a great mix. The Beachouse is a moderately priced gem to stay in, we look forward to returning again
