• Isabel (8/5): - very welcoming family. They help you with all your transportation related issues and take care of you. The hotel is bed and breakfast style. It served well as a place to rest for all the familiy after a long day skiing. Just walking distance to one of the sky resorts (2 minutes away) which make it very convenient. If you want to go to the supermarket you need to take a bus or private transportation. Make sure you know in advance how you can move in or out of the hotel. Waiting for a private car/taxi could be challenging.

• Shih-Fen (10/5): Wonderful and value for money. - Daily home-made meals (breakfast/dinner) are wonderful and change daily. The place is operated by a lovely family. They are helpful, friendly, and responsive. The location is 2 minutes from the ski lift entrance. It's not as well-connected to the town as other entrances, but if you opt for the breakfast/dinner package, and you just come for the ski resort, it's really not an issue. (We just ski, eat, sleep, and repeat) The dry room for equipment and jackets is very convenient. The big common bath is a big plus for us as well. The heater is a bit noisy. But we don't really need it (the comforter is warm enough), so we just keep it off when we are sleeping.

• Kazunori (10/5): コストパフォーマンスは最高です。 - 2026年1月の27日、28日の利用させていただきました。前日のご予約だったので、ほとんどの宿などが相手おらず。舞子と石打のスキー場に行くためにこちらに選びましたが、価格がすごい安かったので期待はほとんどしてなかったですが、ご飯はプラス1000円でつけられるプランでありましたが、朝食も夕食も価格以上のものが提供されたので、また機会があればやりたいなと思います。施設は古いですが、価格には見合っていて冬場です。ごい寒かったのですが、部屋の中は暖かく暑すぎるぐらいでした。で、チェックアウト後もリフトまで歩いて2分で車もそのまま置かせていただき、平日だったのもあると思いますが、スタッフの配慮もすごい丁寧にしていただきました。石打のエリアで止まるのであれば、今度は子供など連れてまたご利用したいなと思いました。設備などは少し古いですが、不備はなかったので問題はないと思います。ご家族での経営ですが、大変だとは思いますが、子育て含め経営を頑張っていただければなと思います。本当にありがとうございました。 ないよー

Such a cozy stay right next to Ishiuchi Resort, and super easy to get to from the Echigo Yuzawa train station (just a quick 5-min taxi). The room and ofuro were perfect after long days on the slopes. The staff were SO nice and very helpful with recommendations. Honestly my best stay in Yuzawa!

It would be great for family with young children stay on the first floor. Overall the noises n able to hear the chatting from next door; it just feel like in the same room. • yuki (8/5): あたたかく迎えてくれる宿 - ご主人や奥さんが親切でサービスがとても良かったです。部屋も共用部分も掃除が行き届いて清潔でした。お風呂も温泉ではないが意外と大きい。朝食のパンがふわふわでとても美味しかった。 最上階の共用トイレは男女が仕切りしかなく女性には不便だと思った。男性専用にして女性へは階下のトイレへ誘導する案内を貼った方が良いと思います。 朝食時に他の宿泊客と対面になる席に案内されたがコロナ対策のビニールの暖簾で仕切ってあって顔が向かい合わせで両家族とも気まずかった。布カーテンなどにすれば解決すると思います。

It snowed heavily when we were departing and the owners son haraki was kind enough to drive 6 people and suitcases ...2 seperate trips...from ishiuchi to echigo yuzawa station. A very very kind gesture indeed. We were disappointed to leave such a great location. Pillows were uncomfortable and toilet cubicles were quite small and un ergonomic.

• Graham (10/5): A nice traditional place to stay with meal provided for a good price. - Good location and friendly staff. Clean facilities and I enjoyed the traditional Japanese style room. I rented an e-bike at the Echigo-Yazawa station, so getting from the station to the hotel was easy. I had booked the option with breakfast and dinner, but was leaving the next morning at 5 am. The host made me a breakfast the night before and left it in a cooler for me to eat in the morning. I really appreciated this effort and the solid breakfast was highly appreciated as I spent most of the day hiking. Highly recommended! Nothing, I really enjoyed my stay.

• Hiroaki (10/5): ホテルの雰囲気と心遣い - 今回、愛犬と家族6人で2泊させていただきました。ホテルは国道17号からすぐの場所だった為、迷うことなく到着出来ました。ホテルのすぐ近くの自然ドッグランは、愛犬が普段、家の中で、たまにしか放し飼いしていないため、とても喜んでいました。ホテルの方も犬を飼ってみえるみたいで、配慮が良かったです。また、7時間の長旅でしたが、大きなお風呂にゆっくりと入ることができ、疲れがとれて良かったです。朝食のパンのおかわりができ、野菜、ハム、目玉焼きが出て、ミルクや自家製ヨーグルトも美味しく沢山いただきました。

Will return to Allumeur next time we visit Gala Yuzawa. - Allumeur is a very pleasant family hotel located close to the two major resorts - Gala Yuzawa and Ishiuichi Maryama. It is easy to get to from the Ichigo Yuzawa station via cab (2,500 yen) or via shuttle from Ichigo Yuzawa to Gala Yuzawa and then another shuttle to Hatsukaishi station or a taxi (1,500 yen). The hotel if family owned and the owners are very helpful and pleasant people, with plethora of useful information about the area. They even gave us a ride to the food store the first evening, as we arrived unprepared - 7/11 or Lawson stores are not as common in the area as one might expect. There are limited snacks available for purchase at the hotel. The hotel offers breakfast and dinner, as desired for additional fee. We had dinners four nights in a row, and the food was absolutely amazing - some of the best we have had in Japan. Dinner time is very convenient, as it coincides with the time the ski resorts close plus about an hour and a half to return to the hotel and change. The hotel has a room designated to dry the gear and clothing. It also has vending machines that never run out and are true saviors, as both my wife and I are beer drinkers. There is a ski lift at Hatsukaishi station, 300 meters from the hotel and two stores for ski rentals. The indoor/outdoor hot spring bath is about 10 min walking distance from the hotel. A free shuttle from Hatsukaishi station can take you to Ishuichi or Gala Yuzawa, with much larger lifts and more to do. If a car is available, transportation is much faster and convenient. The hotel has a relatively large parking lot available for guests. Of note, the only reliable places for ATM withdrawal using a western issued cards are the 7/11 stores, but again, not too many of them in the entire area. Overall, a perfect hotel for ski/snowboard fans who's priority is to enjoy outdoor sports. Everything was great.

• Brett (8/5): Great friendly staff in a well located traditional building. - Triple share room was cosy but tight for 3 adults. Shared onsen facilities were functional if not beautiful. Breakfast was pretty traditional without a lot of variety. Our stay was based around snowboarding in Yuzawa. Allumeur was a reasonable base for us to focus on the snow sports rather than the accommodation. Owners and staff are very friendly and welcoming. Tripple room was tight for three adults; but this is true for most of Japan.
