No where no put your clothes or anything else for that matter. No cable TV hooked up so no watching anything through your phone onto the tv in english Felt like it was being renovated and wasn't quite finished yet.

• Jennifer (6/5): - It was sufficient for our needs, but it wasn't located near anything else. It is "budget friendly" because everything is carte blanch. The breakfast is overpriced, but we were able to get coffee and a croissant for $3.50 each. Our room was too small to leave our luggage open, and the bed was pushed against a wall, so one had to climb over the other. The A/C seemed to turn off at night, and we woke up sweating. It was an easy walk to the train station, but there was nothing to do near the hotel. Most of the staff was very friendly, but not all.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Decent place - Nice place to stay. The price was good, which made uk for the slightly out of town location. However, only 5 mins walk from Dampoort station. Room was an adequate size, big enough for 1 person and was clean.
• Kevin (10/5): Budget price great hotel - Great budget hotel just outside main city centre perfect ideal fir seeing the sights and a stone throw from train station. Rooms are small but are well maintained comfortable and clean great for price point. Checkin was simple easy and hassle free only feedback that i could give was you should be able to prebook parking with a code the street outside is full and costs so need to either have pre booking or place to temp park while you get access to carpark. Other than that small issue the hotel was ideal for the money and staff were spot on .
• Martin L (4/5): - Very basic room(s) and if not in a wheel chair accessible room your queen size bed is "one sided", with a single heavy duty duvet. No actual heating other than air conditioning and a totally unheated "wet room" with no shower curtain. Cannot open a window for fresh air (even on first floor). No shelves, just a few wall mounted hooks to hang clothes on cheap plastic (children size) hangers. Lobby totally full of teenagers (and actually exterior advertising inviting them in). This is not a serious hotel for adults and far from "budget". Parking charge €18 for a night. However staff service minded and breakfast better than expected, although limited choice.

Overall, the experience at the Ibis hotel was pleasant. It is located within walking distance from the train station and easy to walk to the city center. I would recommend this hotel, and would choose it for future bookings.

• Anh Khoi (10/5): Great service - The hotel is located about ten minutes away from Gent Dampoort train station. The facility is modern and squeaky clean. Although the hotel is close to a business park and a busy roundabout, you barely hear any noise from your room. Moreover, the presence of rental bikes helped me given that public transit in Gent is disappointing. For ten Euros a day (plus a fifty Euros safety deposit), I managed to visit all of Gent's major attractions with a rental bike from the hotel thanks to Gent's bike infrastructures.

Our room was small but ideal as a place to put head down after big day walking. The staff were always friendly and always staff cleaning the main areas of hotel. The gym is small but adequate - cost euro 5 to use. The breakfasts seemed very popular and good value judging by the amount of people dining there from early in morning. All in all a really good budget hotel. The only negative is that there are roadworks happening outside so a little noisy and dirty but we were advised of that in an email prior to our arrival Would stay again if I re-visited Ghent. • Integra (4/5): - Dystopian Prison Complex Vibes In an industrial area surrounded by construction, there are facial recognition cameras everywhere scanning everything. They are cashless meaning they want to charge your card for everything including city tax which is a hassle for international folks who dont want extra service fees to pay €3,5 for city tax, and they charge for everything from luggage storage (€2/hour) to hot water, paper cups, there are no free beverages or snacks or anything, no water no coffee no tea. the gym costs and extra €5 etc. all doors and elevators require card scanning, and there are so many doors, some doors are broken bathrooms out of order etc. Staff is somewhat rude. Window view is of industrial construction and window cleaners looking inti your room etc. It is very far from eveything one must either order a taxi or hike through construction to reach busses
• Mary-Martha (8/5): Social atmosphere - We had a great time playing games borrowed from the lobby games library. The hitel creates a very social atmosphere that we really liked. We could have used a couple more amenities in the room such as a glass to have a drink of water to take medications and there was not a chair to sit on or a bench to place our suitcase.

• Clariza (8/5): - I chose this place due to its proximity to the train station. The walk to the town wasn’t so bad at 20 minutes walk. The place looks new and nicely decorated. There were a few “bad” things about this place: # 1 : there was no luggage room. You had to leave whatever luggage that you don’t want to carry around to -1 locker room to which you had to pay € 2.00 each. We had to € 4.00 total as one of the luggage wouldn’t fit and left it with the front desk. # 2 : the garbage in the bathroom was full upon coming into the room. Also, the bathroom could have been cleaner especially the shower.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was basic but that was expected. It was clean, smart and minimal. No wardrobe, but who cares for a few days. Station 5 minute walk away, 5 minute train into Ghent central station. We were really impressed by the place

• Thomas (4/5): - Looks like a warehouse district being revitalized. Room cleaning came early the first few days then stopped, We have to ask for service after a long day out. Then the hotel started the noisy parties for the weekend and it was booming.

It was 18 Euros to park in the hotel car park overnight & you could only park on the roads nearby for 4 hours at a time. I had to park my car 2 miles away overnight to get free parking. I wasted an hour walking there & back.

I think that other reviews may not have considered the fact that this is a budget hotel so the room is essentially just a bed and a bathroom, but that was all we needed for our travels. • Rachel (8/5): Good for a one night stay. - Staff were very friendly and helpful. No on site restaurant - 10 min walk to find somewhere to eat. Buffet breakfast was very good. Bedroom was TINY! Double bed against the wall. Comfortable enough. Just enough room to walk down the side snd across the end. Bathroom also very compact but reasonable size shower. Parking was secure underground. Good location. 15-20 mins walk into centre ( less if you walk fast rather than stroll!) Bus maybe 5 mins from hotel.

• Andrea (8/5): Okay location, comfortable enough but small - First time at IBIS Budget. This hotel is situated about 15 minutes walk from the centre in the Dampoort. Dark route at night along canal to the hotel. Its not well lit. The room was very small, beds comfy and clean. Our window was sealed shut but there is air con and heating system. Still, we would have prefered fresh air. Only 3 hangers for our clothes, kept clothes in luggage case which was not ideal. No storage for clothes. Very small space, would not suit family in our particular room. No coffee or tea making facilities. Cleaners were available daily but we didn't require them. Nice hot shower but gap at bottom ensured our floor was submerged in water everytime we used it. Breakfast available at 10euro which I feel is very expensive. We found fresh pastries and salads etc at Carrefour supermarket across the road slightly. It's handy that Dampoort station is 5 minutes away where you can take trains or buses. Good prices for the train.

Takes far too long even if people already have bookings. Staff opened a second checkin station but then asked people further back in the queue to checkin first. Very frustrating for many of us already in the queue.

• Nick (10/5): Unreservedly recommend this hotel - Great budget hotel to stay whilst exploring the beautiful city of Ghent, of which the centre is less than 20 mins walk away via charming streets. Staff extremely helpful & courteous, and the ingenious 3rd bed system makes it an economical stay when you are a family of 3. Plus there is parking in the basement at a very reasonable rate - what is not to like?

• Piet (8/5): Basic but clean - The Ibis Budget Ghent Centrum Dampoort isn't actually in the centrum, it's at the Dampoort which as the name says is one of the (ancient) entry gates of the city. Still, it is not that far to the centre of the town. The hotel is - very - basic, as can be expected of an Ibis Budget, but it is clean and you get the standard Ibis quality, so no surprizes. The price is OK, though I would have preferred it a bit cheaper especially as it is off-season now.
