Guest Reviews
- Sharon (10/5): It was perfect and we were all very pleased! - My daughter had the breakfast and was not impressed considering the cost. Our room was immaculate and very comfortable. We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for safe and secure accommodations and an easy-on and easy-off highway experience. The staff was great. We needed assistance in initially operating the elevator, but we did appreciate the safety feature. It was not intuitive as to how to ascend. As an elderly person, the shower was great once my daughter instructed me how to turn it on.
- Alaa (1/5): Will not recommend it to friends at all. Their policy is not flexible and old hotel - Bad and staff not friendly and not cooperative. Staff not cooperative.
- Todd (8/5): -
- Brigeen (7/5): Super clean, and convenient, with a great staff but old and tired. - Very convenient to downtown Boston It’s old and things are constantly broken like the elevators, the room locks etc..
- RunTravel4Life (10/5): Great hotel near transportation - Great location walking distance to restaurants. Close to freeway and metro. Beautiful decor and lovely atmosphere.
- Guest (9/5): -
- Paolo (7/5): - Posizione . Disponibilità del personale .camera ampia.
- B3228BAtaylorb (10/5): Great Hotel - Great services, beautiful rooms and well equipped fitness center! Would book again
- Jesse (10/5): -
- nicholasgL5370UH (10/5): Great stay - Great location and staff. I would recommend to anyone traveling to Boston.
- Olha (10/5): A very clean, quiet, and comfortable stay - The hotel was exceptionally clean, which was the most important thing for me. It’s also very conveniently located close to Mass General Hospital. I was staying after surgery, and this was my second time choosing this hotel for recovery. Our room faced the Whole Foods side, so it was very quiet and peaceful. The beds were very comfortable — I was able to sleep through the night even in my condition. The bathroom was spotless. We also enjoyed a lovely breakfast, and the parking was very convenient and reasonably priced. Everything was great, no complaints
- Harriet (7/5): -
- walterlN1365BF (10/5): A beautiful space - Outstanding accommodations. Polite and highly attentive staff, Room was clean, neat, and an inviting relaxing space. Look forward to staying again. My maximal recommendation.
- Mathilde (7/5): convenient location, functional rooms, staff could be more « caring » - convenient location for what we had to do - Very noisy heating system
- people at reception : at checkin, waited 10mn as they could not find our reservation which was fully in order. at checkout, nobody at reception desk at 8.20am for 10mn and got an unpleasant remark as I went to the back office to ask for a receptionist
- forced 25 $ location fee in the rate
- Lavar (9/5): -
- Pupo (10/5): -
- G2913ZLstephenk (6/5): Other hotels are better and watch for an added $25 a day fee - 1 Br Suite was kind of like a prison cell. Very dark and it was very difficult to get the temp right. The thermostat was way up by the front and the bedroom was a full 10 degrees different in the back. So, one room cold and the other hot. You needed to be an engineer to get the lights to work, one central switch by the front door to save on electricity like in Europe but there was one light in the bedroom that could not be turned off by any switch in the whole room. Lastly, they steal $25 a day (destination/visitor fee) and give you it as a credit. Only if you eat breakfast, use the bar or buy tons of unhealthy snacks do you get the money back. I don't do any of those things so used about $25 on bottled water through the week and lost $100. Basically, do not stay here... there are lots of other hotels that are better and don't sneak fees in to rip you off.
- Wilmer (10/5): -
- G3545QGpaulam (4/5): Beware destination fee add-on - Hotel was fine However they added a destination charge at check-out which was not disclosed either at the time of booking or during check-in. Their confirmation email mentioned a $60/day valet charge, but not the destination fee. It took me several emails to get it refunded.
- E3512BImarks (6/5): noisy - light sleeper so take this with a grain of salt, but the windows, doors, and floors are pretty thin and don't do much to block out any external sound, so it doesn't really matter where you are in this hotel, you're going to hear *something.*
the freeway side is clearly the worst - they're thoughtful enough to provide earplugs and a noise machine but your single-pane window is 50' from the last remaining elevated piece of the central artery: you're going to hear it.
the other side is much better but beware of the whole foods loading dock on north side of the building if truck backup beepers can wake you up, the middle of the building if elevator dings can do the same, and anything but the 6th/top floor if you want to avoid noise from people walking on the hollow wooden floor above you.
the staff are really nice and do what they can but it's pretty obvious the hotel was built on the cheap and there's not a lot they can do.
- Nevin61 (10/5): AC HOTEL BOSTON DOWNTOWN and STAFF. - The property itself was beautiful—clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully maintained—but what truly made the experience exceptional were the people.
Jeffrey and Elizabeth A. Beutel deserve special recognition for their professionalism, warmth, and genuine hospitality. They were attentive, friendly, and consistently went out of their way to ensure everything was perfect. Whether it was offering helpful suggestions, checking in to make sure I had everything I needed, or simply greeting me with a smile, their kindness made a lasting impression.
It’s rare to find a team that blends efficiency with such heartfelt service, and this hotel truly sets the standard. I highly recommend staying here—you’ll be treated not just as a guest, but as a valued friend. Five stars all the way!

- gabriellehT3722QU (10/5): Great staff - Staff are fantastic. Front desk to valet to housekeeping. Glad they have a virtual tip open.
- Jeb (8/5): -
- Awilda (9/5): -
- Brajon (10/5): -
- Michael (10/5): -
- Jessica (5/5): It did the job, with the extra costs I would have probably paid more to stay closer. - Nice aesthetic, good sized bathrooms Mattress not so comfy, blocked toilets multiple times, confusion about the 25 dollar food and beverage credit
- Eduardo (10/5): -
- mroscoe931 (10/5): Clean, upscale , great location - The rooms are great size, very clean and comfortable for a boston hotel room. Centrally located with easy access to most neighborhoods within the city. Very competitively priced
- Aldo (9/5): Cómodo con buen precio - Muy limpio y el cuarto estaba siempre muy limpio cada que regresábamos en la noche Un poco más de disposición para atenderte más rápido en el Lobby
- Jean Junior Francois (10/5): -
- rexm495 (10/5): Enjoyable Stay - In town for a business trip. Fantastic location. Nice rooms, excellent staff, good breakfast. Overall an enjoyable stay. I stay at either Marriott or Hilton brands for the points. This was the first time staying at an AC Hotel (Marriott). I will be back again next time I'm in Boston.
- Michele (9/5): Comfortable and near the venue. - Very nice room but dark. Very European nice style Area limited, very hard to locate, gps kept having us make u turn. Parking across street great value, but hard to find initially.
- W6253DJpriscillat (4/5): Hidden fees be aware - Be careful when you booked a room there the parking is an extra $60 and they have hidden fees that they charge on top of the room. Very disappointing I don't think I will go back just for that reason.
- Assel (10/5): -
- Diane (8/5): - Location
- R6537LVglendar (10/5): Good experience - Good location in a separate enclave with good restaurants, cafes handy. Good sized separate dining room for breakfast, nice bar and casual eating either from the bar menu or bring in. Next door to a fantastic supermarket ‘Wholes Foods Market’ where you can buy ready made food and eat on their premises. Easy walking to subway. Good value all round.
- Juliana (6/5): Pricey, some issues with cleanliness, but - It was comfy and dark for sleeping It was dirty. There was a shirt left by the couch, the were some dust bunnies behind the chair, hand prints on bathroom door and the sinks had hair in there and were dirty. I asked for a special gift since it was a special trip. They said they’d put chocolate strawberry’s , which is I get is above and beyond. But there were no strawberry’s. Just don’t say you’ll do it you don’t.
- Jacqueline (6/5): - Food was good when I finally was able to order it Lightning/ bartender being there when the bar opened/ high valet price/ frosted glass door to the bathroom/ pull out couch very uncomfortable
- andrewwU9742CB (4/5): Cold water in shower. Very dark room. - Cold water in shower. I stay 75 nights a year in Marriotts and almost never get a hotel that doesn't have hot water. Very dark room. I would look elsewhere for a nearby hotel in Boston to airport.
- Sydney (6/5): - The property was nice, clean and modern. The room was basic though and pretty small. The shower was awesome but the room was underwhelming for how much we paid. The staff was friendly and accommodating.
- Mazen (10/5): -
- 919alisak (10/5): Great location and hotel - Great hotel, very stylish. Clean, comfortable beds. Great location. Friendly staff. Loved the art work and live music.
- Gisela (9/5): - Front desk people were very helpful & courteous. The room exceeded our expectations. Being close to the highway, could hear vehicles go by.
- Asheley (10/5): - Clean room , staff were very welcoming. I recommend.
- Heather Lynn (8/5): - It is called downtown, but it is not downtown
- Janice (8/5): - Front desk staff was excellent. Breakfast buffet was horrible and very expensive for limited menu.
- Tamika (10/5): - Great
- Christopher (10/5): - My teen and I stayed at AC Hotel Marriott Boston Downtown and couldn’t be happier.
The location was really good; walkable to Chinatown, Boston Common, and more and, easy for Uber/Lyft. There are bus stops nearby (the bus stops on Washington Street and Union Park were super handy) and the Whole Foods right behind the hotel has hot buffet, pizza and other hot/cold food to take away.
Our room was quiet, comfy, and well appointed. The resort fee gave us extras: tickets to the top of the Prudential Centre, a full day of bus/train travel on top of the $25 to spend at the bar/restaurant. We used it for drinks and had such a nice evening winding down after exploring the city.
The staff were friendly and helpful, with the bar team making special off-menu mocktails for my teen.
Overall: For the price, this hotel exceeded our expectations which was a great result. Great location, fantastic staff, and perks that made our stay even more enjoyable. Definitely recommended!
- oliviatC5478HT (10/5): Definitely will be back to the AC Hotel in Boston - had such a wonderful experience at the AC Hotel! The atmosphere is modern, stylish, and welcoming, but what really stood out was the service. Kristine, the bartender, went above and beyond to make the evening special. She’s warm and attentive and makes a great martini!
- Carrie (10/5): - Beautiful property.
- judith (10/5): - It would bew so much better if the room had enough lighting.
Breakfast very ordinary for quite a lot of money.
- HELENA (10/5): - Good
- ashleybE3073LI (10/5): Amazing experiencing in boston! - Christine was the best bar tender ever!!! She made our experience 10/10. We will definitely be back thanks to her! She had so many great food/drink recs that made our trip so amazing.
- michael (4/5): - This hotel is surrounded by multiple highways and is incredibly noisy
- John (9/5): - Exceptional Euro style breakfast.
Next to Whole Foods was a plus.
Included Transit Pass was a bonus. Not the most convenient location for public transit.
- Flyer68303455777 (10/5): Excellent service, spotless clean, every request handled right away. No muss no fuss friendly and warm accommodating. - The staff at this hotel including Christine, Steve, Sindy, and Rachel go above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of. They are kind and friendly and make every request seem like it no big deal to take care of. Outstanding service, great gym, lots of stuff to do nearby. Great restaurants too. If you are going to visit Boston, stay here.
- lmj121804 (10/5): Awesome - Wonderful hotel. Very clean rooms. Wonderful helpful staff. Shoutout to Christine, awesome bartender!!!! She made me some of the best martinis. Every employee I encountered was kind and courteous. Would def stay here again!
- Cla13bdAD (4/5): Not worth the money - The hotel location is convenient, walking distance from Boston Downtown, and the staff is friendly. But it is far too expensive for what you get: rather basic services, rooms rather small, and an unacceptable level of noise if you are on the road side.
Not worth the money.
- maria (10/5): Act of kindness - Our hotel stay was comfortable and convenient but what really impressed us was that the housekeeping staff, specifically Sonya, was SO kind. My husband hurt his back and was stuck in the room all weekend. Sonya got him ice and told another staff member to check in on him should he need anything. Such kindness goes above and beyond one's job description. It meant a lot to my husband. Please pass along our thank you to Sonya!
- Laura (10/5): - Best eggs ever.
- SavvyTravelsUSA (6/5): Nice Hotel - Crazy ‘Resort’ Fees - Charging a $25 resort fee, then be ‘given’ a $25 'credit' to use in the hotel forces you to eat or drink in order the hotel. Or lose the $25 completely.
I've been a Honored Guest member since 1986, now travel for leisure and have never seen anything like this.
Marriott can do better than this. They used to be the best because they were the best! Now they're just like all the other hotel chains.
Hotel was clean, pleasant staff. We parked an easy block from the hotel to avoid the crazy parking fee that the hotel charges. BTW our 2 martinis we bought at the bar were $50. 😕
- Scott (8/5): - Nice hotel a bit far from the action
- Jeffrey A (10/5): - Room was clean. Everything you expect from a Marriott
- Shaun (10/5): - Had a great time. Front desk staff when we checked in was AWESOME! The bar staff was amazing as well. Rooms were beautiful. Just a great experience.
- 677tamikay (10/5): Friends Vacationing - Since checking into the hotel, the staff has been very hospitable, kind, professional, and accommodating. Thanks to Sindy for bringing me up to speed with MARRIOTT points and all the cool services this hotel offers.
- Sarah (6/5): - Usually love this property.
- Melissa (10/5): - Nothing it was great!! I 10/10 definitely one of the nicest and cleanest hotels iv been too.
- Anthony (10/5): - Everything was clean and neat! Staff was excellent
- Diana (10/5): - Location was good, easy for Uber pickups. Felt the breakfast was overpriced and didn’t feel the $25 they charged and then there really wasn’t much to be able to use it for.
- Cory (10/5): It all good - It all good
- Anna Paula (7/5): Custo benefício ok - Confortável Limpeza
- Tony (10/5): - Fantastic stay, staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfy.
We had one issue with an incredibly rude staff member - the barman on Saturday night at about 10.45pm. He was awful. I didn't want the rest of the team marked on his unpleasant manner.
- Patricia (6/5): -
- Lesley (10/5): - Overall, it was an incredibly positive experience. From cleanliness, to the hospitality, to the surrounding area. I will definitely be back!
- S9428BNmariusa (2/5): Atrocious experience - We chose this hotel as our flight got diverted to Boston unfortunately our experience was massacred by this hotel management which let us to wait 2 hours with children and elderly to take our rooms. On reception was only one receptionist which was doing her best mention she call her manager after nearly two hours Damien arrived have the audacity to say they done the best not been aware so many people they will come . Completely false the passenger when they choosing the hotel on app after delayed flight the hotel is aware and needs to accept the availability and should be prepared. Maybe next time
- Abel (10/5): - As described
- andreacN4447OL (10/5): Great hotel! - Great hotel! Rooms and facilities were very clean and well-maintained. Staff were super friendly and accommodating. Also in a very walkable location.
- James (4/5): - The night worker, a young black guy was excellent, extremely professional and took really good care of us, which made me think the entire staff was like that. The day time staff was the complete opposite. Dismissive of needs, not professional, and not helpful. Your room is only cleaned every other day. I would not stay there again.
- dlim38 (8/5): Nice hotel, friendly staff - Good business hotel and friendly staff who saw to our requests. Location is not the best for public transit but the hotel in centrally located so that Uber rides are quick to different parts of the city.
- Rebecca (6/5): - Clean breakfast was underuse.
- HansO91 (10/5): Consistently Exceptional – My Home Away from Home in Boston - I travel frequently and have had the pleasure of staying at countless Marriott properties over the years, but the AC Hotel Boston Downtown on Albany Street holds a special place in my heart. As a Titanium Elite for Life member, my expectations are understandably high—and this hotel continues to exceed them on every visit.
I come here often because my grandchildren live nearby, and this has truly become my home base when I’m in Boston. What sets this hotel apart is not just its stylish and modern design, but the exceptional level of customer service and the consistently warm, professional, and attentive staff. Whether it's the front desk team, housekeeping, or the folks managing the lounge and bar—everyone greets you with a smile and genuine care.
There’s a noticeable attention to detai* throughout the property, from the immaculate rooms to the thoughtfully curated amenities. Every stay feels personalized, and the team often remembers me by name, which speaks volumes about their dedication to guest satisfaction.
In a city full of hotel options, I continue to choose the AC on Albany Street not just for its proximity to family, but because it offers a rare blend of comfort, consistency, and top-tier service. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Boston—whether you’re here for business, family, or just passing through, this property never disappoints.
- Wendy (10/5): - Friendly and helpful staff, clean hotel, close to transportation
- yaniselm2017 (10/5): Nice stay, good area, professional staff. - I had an exceptional stay at this hotel, perfectly situated in a fantastic location. The staff were warm, professional, and went out of their way to ensure my experience was smooth and enjoyable. A special shoutout to Steve—his kindness and guidance truly made all the difference and helped me make the best choices during my visit. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. For me, it’s a solid 100%.
- Barbara M (6/5): - Everything in the hotel is dark brown - dingy and depressing. Rooms overlooking a busy and very noisy freeway. Difficult to access clean towels or hang them to dry. If you are traveling with children, the breakfast is not something most kids will eat.
No pool or amenities but a $25 charge per room per day for a “resort fee”. We finally found out we could use it toward our $21 per person continental breakfast.
The $65 a day garage charge is obscene but unless you go across a very busy freeway, this is the only option.
Will not be returning to this hotel. As long time Marriott rewards customers, we were very disappointed.
- LoisK65 (6/5): Not impressed... won't be back - It has a nice aestethic but for the money I was not impressed. I never once saw housekeeping. I found that very odd. When I asked at checkout, they said I should have been told that housekeeping comes every other day. They did give me some points to make up for this but, overall I expected more than every other day housekeeping for the amount of money I was spending. There were tons of extra "tax" charges on the bill too. Also the front desk was very chaotic and had one person working. Not impressed at all. Will not be back.
- spowers7 (2/5): Not great - When we arrived at the hotel at 3 when the room was supposed to be ready, they told us we needed to wait. We didn’t get into our until 4:45. We were there as part of a room block, and the wedding was at 5:30, which we were late for because of our delayed check in. It was clear that several people in front of and behind us had issues with delays, dirty rooms, and it was kind of chaotic.
- Yoana (10/5): - The hotel for been close to the express way it was quite and nice
- Juan Carlos (10/5): - Excellent
- karla (10/5): - Hotel well maintained and good customer service.
There was a whole foods behind the hotel very convenient.
Good hotel for a weekend trip.
- Rosemarie (10/5): - The hotel was close to dining options and we walked into downtown Boston/Fenway (about 45 minute walk). Parking is expensive at the hotel so we parked one block away under the highway for $20/24 hour period.
Our room was spacious and we slept well - ask for the side away from the highway which is much quieter.
Steve at the front desk provided excellent customer service.
- R1766KVjimm (8/5): Good location and Accommodations - This is in a good location if you want to get to Fenway, Downtown, or to and from the airport fairly easy. The hotel has good accommodations like gym, meeting rooms, and lounge. I wish they had a complementary breakfast but they do offer a paid breakfast. The rooms were clean and spacious. Part of the rooms do face a freeway and you will hear the traffic noise. If you are a light sleeper you may want to request ahead of time or at check-in a room that does not face the traffic. I did request this at my check-in but they did not have any available, so beware of this. I was here for meetings and my company had lunch provided by the hotel. The food was very good along with great service that was provided. They kept our meeting room stocked with coffee, water, soft drinks, ice and would bring in the desert left overs from lunch for us to snack on later. The front desk staff was very kind and helpful. I had my room serviced 1 time during my 4 night stay which was fine for me. You can request daily service. I would recommend this place for a stay if you are going to be exploring Boston or looking to have some business meetings.
- Shreeja (10/5): - Overall i had a great experience
- Jessica (4/5): - The noise at this hotel due to the location was terrible. It was constant traffic, engines reviving, horns blowing, police sirens, etc. The location was also not convenient to anything. Maps shows it being somewhat close to downtown but it was a very long and not great location if you are wanting to visit downtown Boston.
- John (10/5): - First, I love that it's walkable to places of interest. Second, it's restful and clean. Minimalist and modern. Smells clean.
- Maria (8/5): - The room was fine but the staff always seemed preoccupied
- Marlene (8/5): - I was only here for 1 night, arrived late just to sleep and take off the next day after breakfast. The breakfast was decent. A little pricey. Not a big fan of the $60 valet. Hotel was clean and modern and staff was super helpful and friendly.
- Victoria (2/5): - The hotel charged $400 more than what Expedia provided that would be paid at the property . The hotel could not provided a valid explanation for the difference
