• Nicole (7/5): Broken air con - It was right on the beach with lots of places to eat, have a drink, hire a bike, change money and the 711 was a 1 minute walk away. Was in room 26 , the first night i was there the air conditioning didnt work and had to sleep on the balcony as it was so hot, the next day they got someone in to fix it but that ment i couldnt be in my room that day. 5 days later the air conditioning broke down again and someone had to come fix it again. People in the room next to me said their air conditioning didnt work either. Discription of room states there is a safe deposit box-none in room.

• Natalia (1/5): nie polecam tu spać - jedyny plus to ładny widok z balkonu i pieski NIE POLECAM! grzyb, pleśń, smród, syf.. część udogodnień, które wypisano w rzeczywistości nie istniały, klimatyzacja na początku nie działała wcale, a później działała tak słabo że nic nie chłodziła, w lodówce były rzeczy po poprzednich osobach, pokoje miały być sprzątane co 2 dni my byliśmy 4 noce i ani razu nie posprzątano nam pokoju.. obiekt nie chciał w żaden sposób załagodzić sytuacji, był to najgorszy nocleg i to jeden z najdroższych w jakich spaliśmy w tajlandii, a było ich łącznie 11.. masakra
• Sophia (10/5): A great diving hotel with an amazing team! - We had a fantastic experience at Hotel Carabao. The entire staff is incredibly friendly, and I completed my Open Water Dive Course here, it was truly excellent. Marco is a wonderful dive instructor: calm, experienced, and highly knowledgeable. You can really feel his passion for diving, and his positive energy is contagious. Matteo, the hotel manager, is also very competent and welcoming, making sure everything runs smoothly and guests feel comfortable. The beach area is beautiful, and the location is perfect for exploring the island. Overall, a great place to stay, especially if you’re looking for a diving experience The only downside for us was the mattresses, which are quite old and could definitely use an upgrade.

• sylvix64 (5/5): Une chambre pour dormir et c'est tout. - Hôtel basique. Nous avons réservé au dernier moment. Si vous cherchez une chambre uniquement pour dormir ça peut le faire. Nous avons payé très cher par rapport à la prestation fournie. La piscine est un atout, la plage est sale et très peu profonde Le lit peu confortable étroit et qui grince. Pas de bouteilles d'eau, pas de serviettes de piscine ou de plage. Salle de bain vétuste.

What we really liked about this place is that it’s outside the main town hub and therefore has its own little bubble with restaurants, shops etc. also the place offers snorkelling and scuba diving deals which are really good Nothing but if you want night life you’re better off staying in the town

La playa del hotel es muy linda. Hicimos el bautismo de buceo y nos encantó! El trato de nuestro instructor Ricky y todo lo referido al buceo fue un 10 La cama muy dura. El baño se inundaba y no había escurridor, no tenía donde apoyar los artículos de baño ni dónde colgar la toalla. También tenía mucho olor feo constantemente. No había enchufes ni mesas de luz al lado de la cama!

• Nikita (1/5): - They picked us up from the pier and brought us back to the pier when we checked out for free. The staff responds to messages pretty quickly. We were with the children. We specifically chose a hotel with a pool because children often prefer it to the sea. So, regardless of what the staff says (and they are lying), this pool is toxic, which is especially evident on children's skin. Yes, we knew that the pool is used for divers and is cleaned accordingly. But it is toxic even for divers—the concentration of chemicals is just unrealistically high! My daughter spent 20 minutes in the pool and developed ulcers that hadn't completely healed even a month later; we are afraid the scars will remain forever. My son spent about 10 minutes in the pool and was "lucky" because the water made his gums hurt and he got out earlier, so his ulcers weren't as deep. The staff just said there was nothing they could do.

Bad war leider gar nicht in Ordnung. Es hat muffig/ schimmlig gerochen, war nicht wirklich sauber und der Duschkopf hat durchgehend getropft. Der Spiegel war schmutzig und verschmiert. Цель поездки поплавать с акулами была исполнена, поэтому мы в восторге. От отела направо по дороге 15мин и пляж Фридом, налево 30минут и пляж Ао Леук с акулами.

La ubicación es inmejorable para hacer snorkel y la gestión de las excursiones fue impecable. Muy recomendable. Falta la caja fuerte que anuncian en Booking, pero el sistema de seguridad y el buen perfil de los huéspedes compensan ese detalle.

Seul endroit où on ne nous a même pas offert de bouteille d'eau et pourtant un des plus chers de Thaïlande ! Très décevant vu le prix !
• Tamara (5/5): Unterkunft ist eher mangelhaft aber die Tauchschule ist toll - Die dazugehörige Tauchschule ist super. Die Unterkunft hat eine tolle Lage und einen Pool. Es gehört ein Restaurant daneben dazu in dem man auf das Essen 10% Rabatt erhält und das Essen dort war wirklich lecker. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passt in Vergleich einfach nicht. Ich habe im Dorm übernachtet im ersten Bett fand ich eine Bettwanze. Zum Glück nur eine, aber nachdem ich das Bett und Zimmer gewechselt hatte, wurde nur das alte Bett frisch bezogen. Keine weiteren Vorkehrungen wurden getroffen. Das neue Bett war so unfassbar unbequem. Die Matratze war komplett durch und hatte so starke Dellen, dass man auf Hügeln lag. Da die oberen Betten ohne Vorhang waren und zu. Großteil leer, fragte ich ob ich die Matratze tauschen könnte. Das wurde verneint. Nach einer kleinen Diskussion konnte ich dann wenigstens das Bett wechseln. Die oberen Betten hatten aber keinerlei Sichtschutz. Die Glastüren haben zwar Vorhänge aber die Fenster nicht. Wäre die Tauchschule nicht so toll gewesen, wäre die Bewertung deutlich schlechter. Der Pool kann das alleine nicht aufwiegen.

The room was covered in mosquitoes, they were all over the walls and multiple in the bed. The tv had been taken off the wall and we had still been left with a remote. the room was advertised to have a tv and were not informed otherwise until we contacted them. We were then ignored when messaging about this.

Location couldn't have been better either, right on the beach, in a very chilled area. We weren't planning on diving but ended up doing the course and some extra fun dives. Oud en aan vernieuwing toe. Geen verse handdoeken het volledige verblijf, de badkamer rook continu naar uitwerpselen en de vrouw aan de receptie was niet steeds vriendelijk. We bleven langer op het eiland maar boekten een ander verblijf.

• nelly (10/5): - Tout! Le calme, la vue sur la mer paradisiaque, les matelas confortables, les cours de plongée avec Yannick assisté d'Ilan et de Gaël. Notre famille de 5 les remercions chaleureusement ! Les hôtes du resto en face, serviables et avec des portions généreuses à prix modérés par rapport aux voisins ! La piscine : un autre vrai plus même si le lagon est largement suffisant !!! Surtout quand les tortues vous donnent Rdv et que vous pouvez les suivre pendant un bon moment avec votre équipement de snorkeling. Rien! C'était super! On voudrait déjà revenir !

• Stefanie (5/5): - Die Zimmer waren sehr spartanisch und wenig liebevoll. Der Abfluss m BDA hat ziemlich übel gerochen. Die ganze Anlage wirkt recht schmuddelig und runter gekommen. Eigentlich schade könnte man mehr draus machen wenn man wollte. Ist ehr auf tauchen ausgerichtet . Die Gegend ist Liederbach nicht sehr einladend da gibt es wirklich schönere Ecken auf Koh Tao.

• Florence (7/5): - Really friendly staff at the hostel and the diving school - felt very welcome! The restaurant serves nice food and cheap with the discount. The location is out the way of the busy town and right on a beautiful beach which was great for what I wanted, I rented a scooter and travelled into the busier bits of town for nightlife. I think this hostel is great value for money!! The bottom bunks were comfy with a curtain and locker but the floor was not clean and only 1 shower in the dorm of 16 worked.

• Maja (10/5): We recommend Carabao, and will for sure stay there next time we visit Koh Tao. - Good location, close to the beach, easy to get around in the area, nice pool, great restaurant, and really friendly staff in both the hotel, diveshop and restaurant! Nice big rooms with balconies and simple bathrooms. We were 9 travellers (4 adults and 5 teens age 14-18 years) and had four neighbouring rooms on first floor towards the beach (2 with poolview and 2 on the opposite side). Stayed 9 days and went diving with Carabao. Restaurant closes at 9 p.m. But the good thing about that is, that it’s quit at the property and very easy to find another restaurant that is open until later. So it wasn’t a problem for us.

• Olivia (4/5): Great location, great view, rooms not cleaned. - We really liked the diving at this hotel, our diving instructor was extremely kind and helpful, also all of the restaurant staff were very kind. the balcony with a great view was also a plus for us. Our room didn’t get cleaned once throughout our week stay, and the room itself, including the bathroom didn’t smell nice at all, the water also smelt dirty. We didn’t have an aircon remote. Additionally, one receptionist was notably rude to us, we felt every-time we went to reception, she was judging us, not being too kind as a receptionist, in comparison to the other lovely members of staff, for example an issue with a payment method, yet didn’t apologise.

• O'connor (7/5): Good - Excellent value for money, the hostel is at a stunning location right on the beach. ~10 minute drive to Sairee, with plenty of cafes, restaurants and a 711 nearby. The staff and dive instructors were very friendly. There is a free transfer provided to and from sairee pier. The facilities are a little basic but clean and nice. The Wi-Fi is very patchy
• Elena (9/5): Amazing - Considering I stayed in a 16 bedroom hostel it was so quiet and respectful, probably because everyone is there to dive but it was so clean, right next to the beach and my stay was free included in the diving package. Would definitely come again

• Danielle (7/5): It was an okay stay for the price - Staff and the owner were really nice and helpful and it’s in a good location right on the beach The bathroom in the shared dorm needed some maintenance and some TLC, the door was broken at the bottom and scrapping every time it was opened and the showers didn’t work very well
• Jessica (4/5): Not worth the price paid. - It was close to the beach. The beds were relatively comfortable. No water available to drink or provided. The room was dated, doors were at times unable to close. (Cupboard and bathroom) blankets and sheets were very dated. Pillows were old and lumpy. Water went off for a whole afternoon so couldn’t shower. They also don’t clean the rooms daily and one of our rooms wasn’t cleaned at all and no cleans towels between both rooms over 4 days. Even when asked.

• Laura (8/5): Great spot/ could use some room cleaning during the stay - Perfect beachfront spot. Ocean view from the balcony.. super clean pool. Even-though we don’t usually ask hotels to make up our room every day, it would be good to have the option to request it when needed. At least changing bins every second day. We were staying for a week, and I had to grab the broom and take the bins out myself.

• Bianca (5/5): Passable - The location is great 👍🏽 really enjoyed living in that area. The staff was super sweet and welcoming. The bathroom was not very nice, had a very bad smell to it all the time. The toilet was “bobbeling” at night and even worse when raining. The bed was extremely hard and not very comfortable and even though we had AC in the room it was so loud we could keep it on at night. Even at the lowest fan speed. Would go again for diving and hang out place. But wouldn’t spend the night again to be honest.

TV with English speaking channels a bonus Restaurant adjacent was great value for money and the food was very tasty. Pool was perfect to lie by or cool off in That we couldn’t stay longer 😢
• Zeberli (7/5): All good aside from the showers - Good location, nice pool, restaurant and beach The dorms were okay the showers were pretty nasty, not only is the toilet also the shower the water also doesn't drain, so when you need to pee our feet get wet and it reeks at night

Shower gel and shampoo provided You had to lift toilet cistern lid up to flush toilet The room wasn’t cleaned during our 6 night stay No kettle in room

• Johanna (6/5): Pleasant - It is difficult to give a rating for the whole resort. The diving school itself would definitely deserve 10 stars - the staff is super friendly, great teachers, professional lessons. Highly reccomend taking a course there! For the accommodation itself I would only give 2 stars. The location right by the sea and the free taxi transport from/to the harbor is great. Apart from the fact that the accommodation is old and there is a lack of cleanliness, the lack of maintenance of the equipment is a real problem. All ventilation and air conditioning units (we had 3 different rooms) are extremely moldy which is pretty harmful to health. The sink drains are also partially leaky or completely broken. It's a pity because with a little bit more efford and some renovations it could be such a nice place
• Jessica (7/5): Scenic - Absolutely incredible place for the pool and the beach! Restaurant is very nice too and you get a discount. The staff were very friendly, especially the gentleman on the reception he was amazing! We stayed in a dorm room, however I would not recommend it at all. There are no curtains and ours was full of old men. The aircon barely works/ is on a high temperature all night and it gets turned off about 9am and the room is absolutely scorching. The location is amazing is it is right on the beach, however it is very far from the main area of Koh Tao and you will need a scooter.

• Mike (9/5): Can’t imagine staying anywhere else in Koh Tao if/when we return in the future!! 😊 - We can’t speak highly enough of this place - it made our time in Koh Tao unforgettable. We decided to stay away from the hustle and bustle of Sairee Beach, and stay here to complete our Open Water diving course. After initially booking for 5 nights, we extended for another 4 nights to go on to complete our Advanced Divers course. Everything you need is right here, with great food at the on-site restaurant, but other food options and a 7-ELEVEn just down the road, and scooter hire, laundry, etc all close by. The staff (and doggos) are all great, with a special shout out to our dive instructor, Marco! We had to wait over an hour for the taxi pick up when we arrived, but this was down to a miscommunication. We were slightly disappointed not to get a late check out the day we left, especially after spending 9 nights here, and knowing the room was available, but nothing that would stop us from returning.
