- Laura (8/5): I'd definitely stay at the Laura Hotel again. - I especially liked the proximity to the House of Blues venue and the ease of valet parking. The staff was able to accomadate my request for King bed and the view from my room had several building murals to enjoy. That I wasn't able to stay longer and take in more of the hotel and area.

- KidDocDMC (6/5): Not a top-notch hotel - Doors were locked when I checked in after midnight. Had to get buzzed in. Registration was painless but the person at the desk was surly about allowing me to use a Marriott card based on the number (didn’t have it with me, and the hotel can’t take “tap to pay”). The room was fine, though no choice of tea for the machine. The shower door didn’t have a waterproof strip, so water went all over the floor.
Twice, I waited over twenty minutes for anyone in the restaurant to notice me or take my order at breakfast. Another person complained to me in the elevator that the valets were essentially useless.

From the moment I arrived, he was professional, courteous, and incredibly efficient. He greeted me with a warm smile, handled my vehicle with care, and made the entire process smooth and stress-free.
Hakim went above and beyond to ensure everything was handled quickly while still being attentive and respectful. It’s rare to see someone take such pride in their work, and it truly made a great first impression of the hotel.

- adamjO2250MO (2/5): Dirty - I stayed at The Laura Hotel following a late flight and went straight to sleep upon arrival. The next morning, I noticed visible stains on the bed sheets. Before leaving for a meeting, I informed the front desk. The gentleman I spoke with appeared concerned and assured me the issue would be resolved while I was out.
When I returned later that day, the bed had been made, but the same stained sheets were still on the bed. I again notified the front desk and was told it would be corrected. After returning to my room a second time, I found the bed had once again been remade using the same stained sheets.
At that point, I was informed that no accommodation could be made. The employee who identified himself as a manager became dismissive, as though addressing the issue was an inconvenience rather than a legitimate concern. Given the circumstances, I chose to book another hotel for the remainder of my stay.
I have contacted Marriott but have not yet received a response. Cleanliness is a basic expectation, particularly for a property marketed as a four-star hotel. As a Platinum Elite member who travels frequently, this experience was disappointing and not in line with the standards I have come to expect. I hope management addresses both the cleanliness and customer service issues so future guests do not have a similar experience.

- TXJHawk (2/5): Find another place…. - Run. Do not stay there and do not give them any business. We held an event there. $30k later, they overcharged my credit card for another $15k and have promised for nearly a week to refund and it never happens. For the money involved and for what they delivered, especially the tying up of credit and lack of service, find another place.
We will not return for many reasons. There are plenty of nice hotels in Houston. Find somewhere else. This place is not worth anything the charge - from the rooms, to the food to the $33 cocktails. I beg you, find another place.

Could only get food at bar, no dining room available. Parking complicated across street so valet is only way to go any real suitcases on bust street, few places to park to unload, only 1 valet, no sugar for coffee nor light over it. Checked out early, poorly lit - can only pay valet by phone app not add to room, again poorly lit lobby likely why a deal as so may others offer more

- austinj794 (10/5): Austin From New York - The Laura Hotel in Houston is an exquisitely classy property with an amazing staff. Guest rooms were well appointed and comfortable. In all my years of travel, they by far had the most relaxing and refreshing bathrooms of any property I have ever stayed at. The tilework is amazing, the stand in shower provided a luxurious feel and was very relaxing.
Keisha, Sharika, Xavier and Otis at the Front Desk were incredibly hospitable, greeting me every time I walked through the lobby, checking in on my stay, and accommodating me with any requests I had through my stay.
During my stay, I was visited my Monica and Dom (Bartender) who provided a personalized arrival gift which was incredibly nice and made for a pleasant evening!
And of course…. Layla, my room attendant. A very sweet young lady and would always smile and greet me throughout my stay. I have also spent my years in hospitality management, including Director of Housekeeping, and have a deep appreciation for a housekeeping attendant who makes a nice tight bed… Layla’s beds are the best I have ever seen, they were like art, so nice that I felt a little guilty undoing the bed to sleep, it was a beautiful bed presentation!
Great hotel and kudos to the several leaders I had the opportunity to interact with including Erica (Rooms), Michael (ENG) and Adam (GM). Thank you for a Great Stay and look forward to my next trip to Houston!

We often travel for concerts and this property was about 1 block away from the House of Blues. Parking was so easy as there are numerous garages and lots right next to the hotel. No need to have someone park for you for a hefty fee when you can park next door. Breakfast was wonderful! There is no mini fridge which truly surprised us! We had several drinks and could not refrigerate them. There is no room service at the time of our visit. The carpet could use an update.

Little problems, we were riding the elevator on the way up to the (20th), an employee came in on the 16th over rode the elevator and headed to the 15th with her key card.. Elevator continued down. Her interuption stopped the elevator from going up. No common courtesy and rude. She could have waited. The elevator is really fast.
Another issue Hull and Oak, good food, horrible wait and service.. Took us an hour to get our food.. Disorganized service, no follow up while your eating, slow check out at the restaurant.
For the hotel I expected better customer service. This will be the only time I go. I cannot recommend the hotel to others. Customer is really important..

- Kaiser_D (10/5): Distinct Experience_DvB - Context of the stay was a staycation-style weekend stay. Easy book in and smooth check-in led into the relaxing stay at this chic property. Otis offered a warm greeting, thoroughly explain amenities and the property. He was a recurring presence throughout the weekend, each time working efficiently with a bright smile and sense of humor.
The room was spacious. The design emphasized lounging over business activities, particularly the placement of a television above the desk. Anyone using that workspace would risk blocking the tv from anyone else or having the screen pressed into their forehead.
I ate breakfast and dinner in the hotel restaurants. Great service and really flavorful food.
Great nights rest and limited street noise. Valet parking is pricey, but there is a garage for self-park connected via bridge. A bit of a hike. I was able to find free street parking all weekend.
I’m looking forward to another opportunity to stay there.

- Dani review (8/5): I would recommend this hotel - I liked the room size, location and friendly staff members. I think his name was Peter, he upgraded my room to an executive suite. It was nice and comfy. I was very appreciative for the accommodations. However, it didn't come with a microwave nor refrigerator. Which I found odd compared to other hotels that I've stayed in. I was pleased my the decorations for my gf birthday, it was an outside vendor that provided services in the area that was recommended by staff. It was nice for the asking price. The valet prices were not reasonable, therefore we parked in a garage nearby.

The hotel the design the staff the bar and the food, the room OMG with luxurious materials and smell. Really wonderful stay! You wont regret spending time here! Loved everything - maybe consider buffet breakfast cause it is only a la carte and if you are in a rush you will not have breakfast as it took 30ish mins to serve an egg benedict and coffee. Delicious though.

They assured me there was in the executive suite . That was a lie .. the tub could fit one midget but not two grown people let alone 1. Room service is already over priced as it is at any hotel but then they charge a 7 dollar delivery fee. How are you charging a delivery fee for room service . The parking was the absolute worst part . 66 dollars for valet per day . There is a parking garage that’s 24 dollars a night but if you leave out you have to pay again. On top of the 50 dollar a day “resort fee” the hotel isn’t worth the price.

- Jessica (6/5): Houston Business Travel - Enjoyable business trip accommodations in a convenient downtown location. The positive aspects also include a clean, newly remodeled room, and lots of space. The negative aspects: no mini bar, limited room service that’s not good and no way to acquire those convenience items nearby. For a business traveler that is not ideal.
