- H4805DXmichaela (6/5): Not happy with property or management, lack of. 1 agent for check in with 5 people in line. She was not able to fix computerized - 1 agent at check in with 5 people in line. AC control in room computerized and desk agent was too busy to fix it so we were moved to another room. The new room did not have hot water at the sink, 1 set of towels and the window shutters needed two hands and a lot of pull to operate. My wife was unable to open or close the shutters. We had just driven 700 miles and just gave up and went to bed. I informed the 1 front desk agent who wrote down the towel and hot water issue. We returned in the evening to find the hot water issue was addressed but NOT the towel issue. I called the front desk and she stated she was the only person and would bring them up when she could. I went down and picked them up at the desk myself. The next morning at check out, I asked to speak to the manager. I was told she would be in at 9:30. At 9:30 I saw the manager roll in and went to the front desk and asked to speak with her. I was told she was in a meeting and not available. I was told she would call. I left the property and received NO call from the manager. This property lacks staff and has a management team that does not care about customer service.

While there, sink water never got above lukewarm, water went out completely 1 night and entire next day (thanks for notifying guests—NOT!) When it did come back on, shower water was only lukewarm remainder of stay. Ice machine on floor was broken entire stay, requiring stop on a lower floor 6 of 7 days a week during stay. And washing machines were broken during stay. Repair person on the way? You tell me… Disappointing, and very frustrating. When you work 70 hours a week you hope basic necessities will be provided… Hope to never stay here again!

- Emmit (4/5): - I've stayed at this hotel many times and normally have a great stay. This was my first time having poor service. The a/c wasn't working the first two of my three day stay, my room was 77 degrees. I informed the front desk clerk (younger female) of the issue along with a stool cover being extremely loose, Ice maker on 3rd floor not working, needing extra towels, and sheets replaced on my third day of stay. I had to inquire three times before the more mature desk clerk was able resolve my a/c issue and provide additional towels. The other items were never resolved.

All the amenities are there, from Starbucks to solid BBQ, a full bar, and sundries to take upstairs in your room. The hostess was also super helpful and professional.

- Luckylife11 (2/5): The worst staff of any hotel we have ever visited. We gave them two chances and never again. - The hotel has a nice bistro, but the problem is that it closes at 9:30 a.m., so if you want to sleep longer in or have a late morning coffee, you're out of luck. However, they had good Starbucks coffee and a good selection of paid breakfast options. The hotel also has a good restaurant for lunch or dinner, with very nice staff and food. We highly recommend it. In terms of reception staff and services, it was the worst Marriott we visited during our trip to the US. The reception staff was completely unhelpful and unpleasant. Of the three women, only one was nice. One was mediocre, and we will remember one of the receptionists forever. She didn't say hello, looked at her phone, and made it clear that we were bothering her. We asked her for help because the blind in our room was broken and it was dark. She reluctantly said she would pass on the information. Nothing happened all day, and when we asked again, she said she had passed on the information and nothing more. This went on for two days – we stayed in a dark room. The next evening, another receptionist told us that they didn't have a repairman. The complete unwillingness to solve the problem with the room was absolutely shocking. There was also a problem with the Wi-Fi connection the whole time. The Wi-Fi didn't work at all in the room and kept dropping out in the lobby. We paid the full price for three nights but didn't get what we paid for. It was just an unpleasant experience with staff who don't value their work. Since we were going to the same place a week later, we gave the hotel a second chance because it is well located next to the Young Arena, which was our destination. The staff's helpfulness was at the same low level, the Wi-Fi didn't work at all except for a few minutes, the room was drafty and there was a loud noise coming from the door (the door didn't close properly), and the toilet didn't flush properly. We didn't dare ask the receptionist for further help, as she didn't even respond to our greeting. We will not give this hotel another chance and will warn anyone who goes there. The problem is not with the hotel itself, which is of a very good standard, but with the staff, who are absolutely terrible.
- Luckylife11 (2/5): Never again. I don't want to stay somewhere where I don't feel welcome. - Starbucks coffee in lobby hotel, good restaurant Starbecks for the dinner! In terms of reception staff and services, it was the worst Marriott we visited during our trip to the US. The reception staff was unhelpful and unpleasant. Only one of the three women was nice and professional. One average, but one receptionist—that was a horrible experience of a lifetime. We have never encountered such an unhelpful, arrogant, and unpleasant receptionist anywhere else. She didn't say hello, looked at her phone, and made it clear that we were bothering her. There was a broken blind in our room. The room was dark. We asked her for help. She reluctantly said she would pass the information on. Then nothing happened for two days. When we asked again the next day, another receptionist told us that they didn't have a repairman and we were out of luck. Then a nice girl showed up who tried to help, I don't think she was even a receptionist. But she was nice. The problem was not resolved, and no apology was offered. Furthermore, the Wi-Fi in the hotel was almost non-functional. In summary, I hope you are lucky enough to have a receptionist who will be helpful and not make you feel like you should turn around and go somewhere else.

- Heidi (5/5): It was ok- not sure I'd stay here again. - Lobby area is nice. Like the size of the room and having 2 separate bedrooms. We had 5 people and the room I booked said it had a pull out bed. Our room did not have a pull out bed for the 5th person to sleep. This person was ok just sleeping on the couch but the only bedding the hotel could offer was a flat and fitted sheet. They had no blankets or pillows. We had to take about 10 towels from the pool and put them over him to use as a blanket. We paid nearly $400 for 1 night in a hotel we had to sleep on a couch and use towels as blankets- kind of ridiculous.
- Tifani (2/5): Wouldn't do that again if you paid me - I've stayed at several hotels over the last 30 years, in several different US states and other countries and this was by far, one of the worst stays I've had. The walls are paper thin. We could hear our neighbor unzipping their luggage as if they were in the room next to us. We could hear people walking up and down the halls, talking, coughing. It was like we were all in the same room. There's no air flow so you'll need to get a fan or it's super stuffy. No exhaust fan in the bathroom so depending on the temperature of your room and your shower, there could be quite the difference. The beds are soft so, not good if you have back issues. Essentially no lighting in the room, aside from some very dim track lighting and a few dimly lit lamps on either side of the room. I guess I could say it was clean. Looks nice from the outside but poorly constructed building.
- Eugene (6/5): Pleasant - Loved the location. I asked for a king size bed and they gave me a Queen bed after I specifically reserved a King Bed.
- Catherine (6/5): - The fridge was not clean. A lack of toilet paper in the bathroom. The water pressure in the shower was very poor. There was a constant “air sound” heard when we were sleeping at night. Like wind going through a cave. And this was not coming from the vent. More from the door/hallway. We were excited to stay at this hotel because we were told how nice it was. Sad that it did not come out that way.

- Divia (10/5): My stay was very pleasant and enjoyable. - The staff was amazing and extremely helpful it was our first time at this location and that made our stay even more comfortable. The only thing that I didn’t enjoy was how sound carries throughout the walls. I could hear everything going on around me.

- Angela (6/5): Pleasant - The location was wonderful hotel was beautiful The quietness of the hotel was absolutely horrific we booked from a Wednesday to a Sunday and were good until Friday. They put a family in the room right next door Friday night and you could literally hear them talking to each other in a normal tone it was horrible the walls are not insulated for privacy at all. It sounded like they were literally in our room right next to us.

- Robert (8/5): - The property itself was very clean and easily accessible. Very nice facility. Did not appreciate staff knocking on my door on the day of departure, waking me, to ask what time I would be checking out. Especially considering that check out time was not until noon.
- Sandra (10/5): We'll stay afain. - Our suite 220 was chilly, and you must request room service. However, very close to most places of interest, and great BBQ restaurant in the same bldg.
- Jane (10/5): HIGHLY RECOMMEND - Loved this place and would pick it again in a heartbeat. Great environment. Unique. High ceilings. Huge rooms. Walking distance to a lot of places including Young Arena for hockey. Awesome BBQ at Starbecks. It was great!

- Samuel (10/5): - We did a one night stay here as part of our drive back home from a week long trip. It was a good spot to stop, easy to park, check in and out was a breeze and we were in our room within 10 minutes. The 2 bedroom worked great for the family overnight. Additionally, the attached Smokehouse restaurant was super convenient, we were able to order and take to-go food up to the room to eat!

- Plude (10/5): This hotel is so cool. It’s in an old factory, the ceilings are really high which just adds to sleekness. Staff is nice - This hotel is so “cool”, we were impressed. Nothing it was amazing
- Adnan (2/5): - I have been staying at this hotel for the last 4 times I’ve visited Iowa and this time was by far the worst. The AC in my room was not working and when I notified the staff all I was told was “well do the best we can to fix it” it was never fixed and I was never offered a new room. I want to continue staying at this hotel because I have had no issues prior to this time but if I can’t get some kind of reimbursement for my money then I will no longer be staying. Thanks for the concern!
- Kristin (10/5): - What a great place to stay. We loved the vibe the hotel gave. If we are ever back in the Cedar Falls/Waterloo area, we will FOR SURE stay at the Courtyard.
- Dawn (4/5): - Very disappointing that the only “free” coffee was in the rooms tiny coffee pot. Most travelers look forward to morning cup of coffee.
- Steven (8/5): Very beautiful hotel, but horrible wifi - The hotel is a beautifully renovated building with nice rooms. There is a lot of parking and for us it was perfectly located for our business visits. The wifi didn't work, and it even seems you needed to register before using it, but we never could find out, as it didn't work in the first place. We called the reception and they connected us with "technical support", but they didn't get any further than "make sure your wifi is not turned off"... The breakfast is so-so.

- Smith (9/5): Poor greeting remarks - The hotel is unique. We like how large and roomy the room was. Dawn, who checked us in, claimed we didn't have a reservation. We booked it thru Booking.com and had paid for the room. She asked if we charged it on MASTER card. It was paid for on Discover. She then typed our name in and got us a room with no problem. I did get a receipt upon leaving. Everything was OK. The way we were greeted is the reason the hotel is getting a GOOD rating. Telling someone you don't have a reservation isn't my way of greeting guests.
