Guest Reviews
- JOHN (10/5): Comfortable and cosy accommodation. Wonderful hosts and incredible view. - Incredible location with the most spectacular view of Mount Roland. Comfortable and cosy cottage with everything you need to feel at home and relaxed. We received a beautiful welcome hamper on arrival and and were greeted by our lovely hosts Eileen, Simon and their gorgeous dog Amber. The cottage was meticulously clean and the perfect place to base while exploring the Cradle Mountain area.
- Mary Rose (8/5): -
- David (10/5): exceptional ! - We loved absolutely everything, from the hosts, location, accommodation, communication / directions, exceeding expectations is an understatement! not booking for longer! :-)
- cynthia (10/5): -
- Damien (10/5): - The gift basket on arrival was awesome, cottage was so clean and fresh, Amber the dog and lolly the pet sheep were very friendly
- Kar Peng (10/5): - Excellent communication, personal touches. We left some belongings behind and Simon and Eileen called us and arranged postage to our future destination during our trip. Great effort and communication, going out of their way to give us peace of mind. The view is spectacular! Nothing at all.
- Ferdinando (10/5): - Absolutely wonderful! Modern, comfortable and spotlessly clean! And what a view! Our hosts, Simon and Eileen (and Amber), were so friendly and welcoming, greeting us in person on arrival and even providing a personalised welcome card, with Eileen’s own artwork on the cover and a lovely goodies basket, to settle us in! Quiet, peaceful location, an easy one hour’s drive to Cradle Mountain NP. Loved it!
- SUSAN (10/5): Had an amazing stay at Manna Hill Farm - beautiful setting and Eileen and Simon are wonderful hosts - Comfortable beds, beautiful linens, such well-appointed accommodation, magnificent view and a little slice of farm life to enjoy There wasn't anything I didn't like
- Sarah (10/5): Gorgeous cottage with amazing view of Mt Roland -
- Bev (10/5): We will be back! - The most stunning view. Great hosts - all three! Very thoughtfully fitted out and exceptionally clean. Nothing.
- Tony (10/5): Beautiful peaceful warm cosy welcoming - Beautiful location looking straight at mt Roland across the farm land and the cosy beautiful cottage beautiful welcome basket of Tasmanian breakfast goodies That we couldn’t stay longer
- Johanna (10/5): a most beautiful adventure - well appointed cabin, magnificent view, lovely hosts
- Beverley (10/5): My first real 10/10 stay - The view was beautiful. Enjoying sunrise, sunset and even Aurora Australis facing Mt Roland was very special. At night, small wallabies were visible in the garden and in the morning we were greeted with singing kookaburras and the property dog, Amber who LOVES being petted. The cottage was IMMACULATE. Probably the best kitchen facilities I’ve ever had in self catering accommodation and the welcome basket meant we had breakfast covered for the 3 days we stayed. The owners are friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and would stay again if we come back to Tassie. If you are light sensitive, bring an eye mask as the smoke detector has a permanent light on it.
- Danika (10/5): Beautiful views and perfect cottage! - Everything at this accommodation was exceptional. The views from the porch were absolutely beautiful and it was such a relaxing and enjoyable place to stay. Everything inside the cottage was impeccable - everything was perfectly clean, it had everything you could need for cooking in the kitchen, the fireplace was going when we arrived, and there was even an incredibly thoughtful hamper of food when we arrived including some supplies in the fridge. It was the best appointed and most thoughtful bnb I’ve ever stayed at! I wish we could’ve stayed longer!
- Hai (10/5): Will definitely be back if we are in Tasmania again! - truly enjoyed our 2 night stay at Manna Hill! Hosts were welcoming and even prepared a lovely snack basket for us too. Property was clean and had exceptional views especially during sunrise/sunset over mount roland. Will definitely be back! (and of course to meet the cutest Amber again)
- Yanjing (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniella (10/5): Exceptional - Immaculately presented and clean. Spectacular views. Very peaceful and relaxing. Super comfy bed. Amazing hamper of goodies on arrival. The best place we have stayed at in Tasmania! Leaving
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - Eileen's cottages are amazing. Beautifully positioned on a small acreage several kilometres from the small town of Sheffield.
The design of the cottages, with a wide full length veranda, have a commanding view of Mount Roland and surrounding farm/forests. Truely majestic. A great place for an afternoon wine and charcuterie board.
The kitchen is fully appointed with everything you could need.
The bedroom and bathroom was also if a high standard. Very comfy bed.
The lounge room is comfy with an easy to use gas fireplace. Eileen has the cottage tastefully decorated with her original artwork being the highlight.
The best thing though was the welcome basket plus extras in the fridge. You don't need to bring breakfast.
- Catherine (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing views, modern and clean.
- Beth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wil (10/5): The perfect place to rest. Gorgeous surroundings, great location. - Stunning location, super comfortable. Nothing
- Robert (10/5): Cradle Coast hideaway with uninterrupted views of Mt Roland. - If you could give an 11 for location we would have. We have friends who live in West Kentish and even they were jealous of our views of Mt Roland. The group consensus was that our cottage was the best appointed we have ever stayed in. Every thing we needed and more was there. A short drive (30-45 minutes) from everywhere on the Cradle Coast including Cradle itself we couldn’t have had a better place to explore. After a day in Cradle the girls were able to undertake a local walk whilst the boys experienced a Mole Creek Tassie Tiger pie; a Spreyton cider; and a Prickly Mo platter all in time to cook up some local Lamb Cutlets from the Spreyton Butcher and eat them on the deck with friends watching the setting sun change the lighting on the Mountain. In the morning it was just the sound of birds as the valley woke up. Couldn’t recommend it more. We did have some troubles with Wi-Fi and streaming but who doesn’t. 5G phone reception was good.
- Xiaosong (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning view, quiet and peaceful. Cottage is with complete facilities, less than 10 mins drive to Sheffield and 45 mins to Cradle mountain. Very friendly owner and our stay was truly enjoyable.
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Thompson (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning view and lovely hosts. Leaving
- Yiheng (10/5): Exceptional - Definetly the best place I have stayed in Tassie.
- Ross (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emilyjc (8/5): Very good - Amazing views, cosy and comfortable and had all amenities necessary.
- George (10/5): Eileen and Simon have created a truly Tasmanian experience that everyone should visit. A perfect spot to laze about next - The property, scenery and vibe is exceptional! So cosy and warm in what was a very cold and beautiful week.
- Rebecca (10/5): A brilliant and serendipitous find with stunning views and genuine hospitality. - Everything about this place was fantastic: the welcome basket of breakfast sundries was very appreciated, the cabins had been heated with the fires prior to our arrival, and the decor was beautifully maintained and homely. Our expectations were genuinely exceeded in every way, and Simon and Eileen were helpful and so knowledgeable about the area. We are so glad we came here!
- Thomas (10/5): Awesome cottage / farm stay in North Tasmania - This was an amazing place to stay. It is far better in real life than in the pictures, and the unblocked view of Mount Roland is awesome. Very serene location on a hilltop farm. Simon was a great host (Eileen was away) and provided a generous hamper. Friendly chickens, very friendly dog (Amber) and somewhat wary sheep kept us company. Great location from which to explore Cradle Mountain, Latrobe, Devonport and the surrounding region. The cottage was warm and comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen. We loved our 3 days and nights there. Nothing.
- Jodi (10/5): Incredible place to experience Tassie - Truely serene location. Owners were very helpful, kind and thoughtful. The cabin was impeccably clean with everything we could want for our Tassie stay. Lots of added extras & delicious treats, we didn’t expect. We were especially grateful for the super comfy beds after hiking.
- Sheng (10/5): Exceptional -
- Colleen (10/5): Our memorable stay at Manna Hill Farm offers a rejuvenating getaway in Tasmania's serene surroundings, thanks to its - Our experience at Manna Hill Farm left an indelible impression. Simon and Eileen greeted us warmly, ensuring our every comfort. Set against the backdrop of Mt. Rolland, the location offers awe-inspiring vistas and serene surroundings. Waking up to such natural beauty was a standout moment.
Situated conveniently, the farm provides easy access to nearby attractions, including the stunning Cradle Mountain just an hour away. The presence of their amiable sheep and charming dog, Amber, further enhanced our stay. Simon and Eileen's hospitality surpassed all expectations. Their thoughtful gesture of a generous food hamper brimming with fresh farm produce was truly appreciated.
Their assistance and flawless communication made our stay effortless. Manna Hill Farm serves as a enchanting sanctuary for those craving a connection with nature. I wholeheartedly recommend it for a revitalizing escape in Tasmania.
- Stephanie (10/5): Perfect for a relaxing weekend stay! - The chalet was perfect, extremely clean and comfortable. The view was incredible!
- Carol (10/5): - Beautiful setting, warm generous hosts and home-from-home comfort. Sorry we could only stay for two nights. Highly recommended.
- Sally (10/5): We will be back! - Fantastic view and the perfect place to switch off from the world (while being driving distance to tourist attractions). Property was homely and everything was such a high standard. Hosts were lovely and the welcome hamper was such a thoughtful touch Nothing!
- Meg (10/5): Divine cottage with mesmerising views - Eileen and Simon (and their beautiful dog Amber) were the perfect hosts - there to greet us on arrival, and to answer any questions we had. They gave us some good tips for eating out in the local town - the very lovely and quirky Sheffield - and were happy to show our children where their chickens laid eggs, and to let us feed their sheep one morning.
When we booked, we did not realise that breakfast was included... but when we walked into our cottage, we were presented with an ENORMOUS hamper, with eggs freshly laid by their chickens that morning, delicious local yogurt and milk, a loaf of wholemeal bread, fruit, butter, cereal, coffee, tea, etc. Plenty to keep us going for our 3 night stay. So wonderful!
Eileen is an artist, and you can see her personal touch in the decor of the two bed cabins. Very classy, yet warm and inviting.
The beds were incredibly comfortable, linen very crisp and luxurious. There were 8 sets of plates, cutlery, mugs, etc, so you could actually use the dishwasher and not have to wash up to have a second cuppa. Everything you needed to cook a meal was there also - pots, knives, chopping boards, oil, salt, pepper.
There were comfy reclining armchairs and a double sofa in front of the wall hung TV, so perfect for 4 people.
Another seating area on the deck plus table meant we could have eaten outside if we had wanted (It was a bit too chilly to do that in mid December - so different from the heat of Sydney.)
The views were to die for - simply stunning location looking back over Mt Roland. Mesmerising. I could have sat on the deck all day...
We loved having our base in West Kentish and spent 2 days exploring Cradle Mountain and nearby areas. A fabulous place to drop out. Wish we could have stayed longer. We will be back... Nothing. It was perfect.
Just a suggestion that it might be helpful to have a couple of hooks on the back of bedroom doors and bathroom to hang nighties, towels, etc.
- Benita (10/5): - Manna Hill Farm Cottages offers a truly magical and breathtaking experience. The quality of the property and cheerfulness of all the hosts is beyond expectation! A place you Must visit whenever in Tassie.
- Kerri (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ella (10/5): Magic - The fantastic people that own and run the property. The cabins are very comfy and have a world class view of Mount Roland. Definitely coming back when we’re in Tasmania next.
- Jill (10/5): Beautiful stay in a stunning location - Stunning location, personal touch and added luxuries to make the stay special. Lovely hosts who went out of their way to make sure all was well and gave great recommendations to enhance the visit Nothing, all excellent

- Karin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amanda (10/5): The most relaxing and comfortable space - The whole place was absolutely amazing, such a beautiful location and the house had so many unique touches Absolutely nothing, it was perfect
- Alessandro (10/5): - Fantastica! Il meglio per famiglie!
- Debra (10/5): Wonderful, relaxing and beautiful - Manna Hill is a beautiful property and the accommodation is first class, one of the best appointed cottages we have stayed in, every facility you could want is covered. Very high end facilities and extremely clean. Simon and Eileen are wonderful friendly hosts and nothing is too much trouble, gave us a few tips on places to visit, the views are magnificent, overall I would highly recommend Manna Hill farm. Nothing to dislike.
- Dj (10/5): Exceptional - The hosts are friendly and welcoming. The place is well appointed and the luxurious finishes make it so comfortable. It is extremely clean and the view....wow!!
- Natthaporn (10/5): Exceptional - the fireplace, hot wired bathroom floor, welcome basket, nice comfy room, heated bed, stunning view. the owners are super generous and friendly.
- Krystal (10/5): Exquisite get away for a couple or family! - The entire experience at Manna Hill Farm was exceptional. The house, the property, the hosts, the animals, this was really a beautiful part of our Tasmanian trip, we wished we could have stayed for longer! There was nothing I could fault with the entire stay.

- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jacqui (10/5): Exceptional - The views were to die for. We have stayed in a dozen Tasmanian properties and this was by far the best. The hosts were a delight. Lovely goodie basket, so peaceful and green with glorious mountain views.

Great location if planning a day trip to Cradle Mountain and only a short drive to Sheffield.
Hosts are very friendly and helpful.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly owners. Attention to detail was outstanding.
- Jessie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peng (10/5): Exceptional - it’s very clean and the scenery was spectacular. everything is good. nothing to pick on.
- QIONG (10/5): - Immaculate modern farm stay. Nothing would go wrong. Breaktaking view , tranquil location, modern facilities- it has everything you could imagine for the dream farm stay.
- Frank (10/5): Exceptional - The location was outstanding. It was close to the town and yet far enough to enjoy the peace. To wake up with the view over the mountain. The short stay. A longer time would have been better.
- Donna (10/5): A little slice of luxury - The cabins are just perfect. Modern and well appointed from the quality towels, heated bathroom floor, gas fire place, electric blankets and full kitchen, stocked with all the basics and a beautiful welcome hamper. Not to mention the breathtaking view!! The hosts are helpful and accommodating but not imposing. Amazing value for money compared to other offerings in the vicinity where you either get a lot less for your money or pay an awful lot more for a high standard.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - The first words out of my mouth when we got there: The tiles are warm!
Everything is just perfect.
Simon and Eileen welcomed us warmly and we felt very cared for when we arrived on Sunday night without food to find fresh eggs and a loaf of bread to give us an easy, delicious meal before bed.
The views of Mt Rolland being illuminated in the rising sunshine provided continued inspiration for the day to come.
Honestly, a beautiful place with beautiful people.
- Gary (10/5): - Friendly hosts and great views. Special experience in a central location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Best place to stay at Cradle mountain & surrounds - Home away from Home. Nothing to fault.
Very generous breakfast hamper with local produces was a total surprise. I can see and feel a lot of hard work, love and thought are put into this place.
To enjoy a cuppa on the back Verandah looking at the Mount Roland - only you will know the feeling when you are there. (We chose Manna Hill for this reason by looking at the photos as we were not sure about the weather in Tassie might stop us from going out. We did not regret at all.)
Definitely recommend this place if you are travelling to Cradle mountains and surrounds. Amber (the dog) is so friendly and now my hubby wants a dog. :-)
- Jackie (10/5): - We loved EVERYTHING about Manna Hill Cottage. If I had to pick one thing it would be the spectacular view of Mt Roland. I really hope to be able to come back here again. Eileen and Simon are wonderful hosts and have thought of absolutely everything to make their guests comfortable.
- Nicole (10/5): Perfect in every way - This is an amazing place to stay at. I could not fault it in any way. The hosts are beautiful and the cabins are perfectly decorated, clean, comfortable and fully equipped with everything you might need. The farm is lovely and the views are outstanding. I highly recommend staying in this stunning part of Tasmania.
- Belinda (10/5): - Beautiful views of Mt Roland in a peaceful location, perfect as a base for a variety of day trips. The cottage was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Simon and Eileen were very friendly and knowledgeable about local attractions. The generous welcome basket was much appreciated and our daughter enjoyed collecting fresh eggs form the hens for breakfast.
- John (10/5): Great relaxing farm stay, great for young families - We stayed at Manna Hill farm for 4 days (parents + 4 and year olds). Simon and Eileen were amazing hosts and looked after us well. The kids loved feeding the sheep and chickens and well as playing with Amber their Australian Shepard. The welcome basket was amazing and we enjoyed the fresh eggs and vege's from the garden. The cottages themselves are very modern, well kept and had all the right features we wanted. Loved the beds and the safe and warm fireplace!
- Orestes (10/5): Perfect place, in a perfect place. - An exceptional property in an exceptional location hosted by exceptional people.
Every detail of accommodation is attended to. Our 'welcome basket' was exceeded only by the welcoming demeanor of our hosts who were, throughout our four night stay, available, responsive and generous in every way. Limitless things to see and do in the area. Good access to Cradle Mountain. We'll be back in summer months!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Manna Hill Farm was incredible. We found it while searching for somewhere close to Cradle Mountain but in the end we didn't even visit Cradle! Instead we just wanted to spend as much time as possible at this stunning place. The hosts Simon & Eileen (and Amber) were wonderful the accommodation was modern, clean, warm with spectacular views of Mount Roland. Would highly advise making this part of your Tasmanian Holiday!
- DYANN (10/5): One of the highlights of our whole trip... - Our stay exceeded our expectations! The bungalow was beautiful, comfortable and spacious! The view was breathtaking! At night the natural sounds of Australia were amazing! The hosts were so gracious and wanted to make sure we had a fabulous stay. As we drove up their friendly and playful dog Amber greeted us and there were sheep and chickens. We would love to return someday!
- Elaine (10/5): - Everything about Manna Hill Farm was perfect. Amazing Hosts including Amber the Australian Shepherd. The views and cottage are Superb. Luxury and comfort. A great base for exploring the North East of Tasmania. 2 nights was not enough. We will be back. Thank you so much The Ryan Family⭐🙂
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Calm and comfortable. Fantastic view of Mt. Rolland. The owner, Eilen and Simon are very friendly and gentle. Their dog, Amber, is another happy memory. I wish to come back on the near future.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Stunningly beautiful view and outstanding accomodation. Eileen and Simon had thought of everything, including a lovely welcome basket of goodies. Thank you and we hope to visit again soon.
- lori (10/5): Luxurious cottage with magnificent views - Cosy and comfortable cottage. Hosts Eileen and Simon can't do enough to make the stay perfect. It really is a slice of heaven on earth. Wish we could have stayed longer than our 4 days ...
- Verified traveler (10/5): - What a beautiful place to stay! Eileen and Simon have created a dream farm stay. Everything was perfect... from the clean, comfy cabins to the warmth: the fireplace, that underfloor heating, the electric blankets ;), to the welcome basket, to Amber's joyful welcome (the dog) and the newborn lambs, to the view, to the gardens... We will not forget our stay here and will be recommending to all our family and friends. xxx
- BenC (10/5): - This is an amazing place to stay and really can’t be faulted at all. It is really a slice of heaven on earth
- wailun (10/5): Memorable, impressive stay - I was amazed by the stunning Cradle Mountain view during the morning of our second day of stay. The host Eileen and Simon is friendly and we received a good welcome gift basket which included with a gift card with my favorite Australia Animal which is the wombat.
The cottage is new and well equipped
- Verified traveler (10/5): Do yourself a favour and stay here! - We stayed 3 nights with our 5 year old son and were very happy with everything. Eileen and Simon are a lovely couple who have clearly put their hearts into setting up Manna Hill Farm. Everything has been carefully considered but our favourite features were the top end furnishing, linens and appliances, the real potted plants in each room, the stunning ever-changing view of course, and the fireplace and cosy feel. And Eileen's beautiful fine drawings of local fauna add a very classy and personal touch. The cabins are well positioned for privacy and so you feel it's just you and the mountain, but our hosts were also very personable and available and filled us on the possibility of playmates in the next cabin and took us out to feed the sheep right when we requested it - our little one loved that and frolicking around with the chickens and Amber the dog. We were provided with a very generous welcome basket and stocked fridge - breakfast supplies & snacks. The cabins are wonderful and the environment/grounds are lovely but still a work in progres e.g. the laundry isn't set up yet but Eileen was super accommodating with doing a load for us to dry by the fire. Our shower leaked at the base too which was the only negative, but we were pre-warned and they really couldn't be nicer about these things. We all have very happy memories of our time here and it'll take a while for the vision of that mountain and the mist rolling around in the valley to fade I think :-)
- Marlina (10/5): A little piece of heaven 😁 - Very recommended, warmth welcome, fantastic view, the best place we stay so far.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We stayed 3 nights in a comfortable 2brm cottage. Exquisite views from the living areas and porch to Mt Roland.
A full surprise hamper and some things in the fridge were very appreciated. Comfy beds, well heated for winter and spacious.
Eileen and Simon are fantastic hosts and very friendly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Absolutely amazing everything is perfect. Location and hosts are brilliant. View is like nothing else.
- James (10/5): - It was great. We could not have asked for more.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - To be very honest, we cannot say what has not been said about the wonderful Manna Hills Farm. The reviews on all the sites say the same thing. We wish we could keep Manna Hills our secret. From the moment they reached out to us before our arrival, from the welcome basket to help us get started, to the expert local recommendations on activities and dining, a 5/5 does not tell the story. Simon and Eileen have poured their heart into the cottages. Every detail has been anticipated. We loved meeting them and learning more about Tasmania. Our daughter loved feeding the sheep and chickens and seeing the wallabys at night. We were sad to leave but hope to return very soon. Than You MHF !!!
- Kelvin (10/5): Quality in the Country - Wonderful place, wonderful people in a lovely town around an hours drive to cradle mountain but 30 minutes to caves, and other lovely sites. Close to town for dinner, shopping. Cabins are new, posh and very well stocked.
- Jimmie (10/5): Fantastisk sted - Fantastisk ophold!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The cottage had very high quality finishes and appliances. The kitchen was amazing, bed and bath linen was luxurious and the view was magnificent. The hosts were friendly and responsive. I could easily spend a week here, relaxing with a book and going on the occasional walk and exploring the local area. The walk up Mt Roland was beautiful.
