• Sarah (2/5): - Es entspricht überhaupt nicht den Bildern. Wir waren sehr enttäuscht. Alle Betten und Schränke waren kaputt. Auch die Dusche fiel bei Benutzung herunter. Wir haben das hotel nach 1 Nacht verlassen
• Trevor (5/5): It's ok but could be better - Great location, comfortable bed. Decent breakfast but I can imagine it getting old fast if you're there for a long time. Place could be so much better with some attention to details. A chair in the room isn't a lot to add. Stayed there for 4 nights and the room wasn't cleaned... Should be automatic after 2. The room with the garden view is right beside the reception so can be a bit noisy at times.

Standard room is definitely not new, it smells bad needs to refresh, don’t choose standard room if you can. But positive moment that we could move to another room, which was better. • Karen (4/5): Friendly staff but room was disappointing - The location is great and the staff was nice. Bed super comfortable. Free bike to go around. You can see the tearing of the room. The room had a very strong smell, they used air refreshers to maybe hide the smell of humidity but it ended up way too overwhelming for me, both the smells, the “good” and the bad. Sheets were clean but some of the blankets for decoration have stains which made it look dirty. Pillows and cushions were smelly. Same for the towel, old and tear down. Although the staff was friendly, the price is too high for what you get.

• Doris (3/5): - Nähe zum Strand Das Zimmer ohne Fenster nach außen. 13 Nächte!! Ein Zimmerwe chsel war leider nicht möglich. Der Schrank hat gemüffelt, sodass ich 2 Wochen aus dem Koffer lebte. Bad: die Toilettenbrille war zu klein für Toilette. Sollte renoviert werden.

Всегда есть свободные лежаки. Поблизости хорошие рестораны. Девочки служащие приветливые. Окно, которое вы видите на фото отеля, это замазанные краской окна в коридор. Лейки душа все в ржавчине. Фанера на мебели разбухла и полопалась. Запах сырости и канализации. В санузле нет занавески. Все брызги летят на унитаз. Зона душа в принципе не отделена, вода утекает в дырку за унитазом. Получается, что вы ходите в санузле по мокрому полу после душа. Сок на завтрак отвратительный, растворенный порошок
• Edyta (10/5): Great value for money - I had a wonderful stay at this guesthouse in Ukulhas. The location is absolutely perfect — just about 10 meters from a beautiful beach that is never crowded, which is a huge contrast to the other side of the island. The staff, Smarika and Ishu , are incredibly friendly and welcoming. As a solo traveler, I immediately felt that I was in the right place. They always greeted me with a smile and were around whenever I needed anything, which made me feel comfortable and well taken care of. The bed was very comfortable, and after my arrival I had a long, deep sleep. My room didn’t have direct daylight, but that actually helped keep it quiet with no outside noise, which I appreciated. The breakfast was also very delicious. After this stay, I moved to a more expensive hotel, but somehow my best memories from Ukulhas are from this guesthouse, Beach Veli. Ps: This is a guesthouse-style accommodation, so don’t expect luxury. It’s quite basic but well equipped, and with the right expectations your stay will be great. I did notice some small ants in the room when food was left open, but that didn’t take away from the overall positive experience.

• Siri (8/5): A simple, clean guesthouse with a great location, friendly people, and excellent snorkeling right at the beach – an hone - Beach Veli is a small guesthouse with a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. The location is excellent – just across a small sandy island path and you are already at the beautiful bikini beach. Snorkeling directly from the beach was a highlight for us, as we almost always saw turtles in the water. The rooms are simple and a bit dated, but they were clean and well maintained. Breakfast was good and sufficient, with three options to choose from: continental, Maldivian, or pancakes – we tried all of them and enjoyed each one. The staff was very kind, friendly, and genuinely well-intentioned, and they always tried their best to help. The rooms are quite basic and would benefit from some updates. The staff may not offer a polished hotel-style service, but they were always friendly, helpful, and genuinely tried their best. Whenever we asked for something, they were happy to assist and made sure our needs were taken care of.

• Julie (2/5): Disgusted with the state of the room and property. Nothing like photos. - Nothing This property looks NOTHING like the photos. The entrance looks like a building site, the room is disgustingly, dirty and falling to pieces. No linens on the bed, just a bare comforter and old sheet.
• Maiju (10/5): - The staff were exceptionally warm and kind. They welcomed us at the harbor upon arrival and also accompanied us back when we left. When I fell ill with a stomach bug, they immediately offered help and support. An umbrella and snorkeling equipment were always available when needed. If you choose to stay in a guesthouse, it’s important to understand that it is not the same as a five-star hotel — and it doesn’t need to be. What I truly appreciated was the sense of peace and simplicity. I noticed that when you approach people with openness and without closing yourself off, kindness and willingness to help naturally appear around you. That was very much my experience here.

• Sari (5/5): Staff needs more training - Location is good with easy access to the beach. The initial briefing upon arrival was insufficient, and basic information was not clearly communicated. For example, my room was not cleaned at any point during my stay. Breakfast was served with staff wearing earphones and listening to music, which made the experience feel unwelcoming. During payment, the staff refused to accept the local currency, which led to an unnecessary and stressful situation. Additionally, they attempted to process payment without issuing an invoice, which is not acceptable. After I raised this issue, I was confronted in my room, causing significant distress and nearly resulting in me missing my boat departure. Finally, the property was undergoing renovations during my stay, with potentially dangerous materials left unattended. This poses a safety risk, particularly for guests traveling with small children.

• maria (9/5): Un acierto - Si estas pensando en ir a Ukulhas, definitivamente este es el mejor lugar en el que alojarte. Esta muy bien ubicado, en la zona mas bonita y tranquila de la isla, a un paso de la bikini beach. Las chicas con muy amables, y nos ayudaron mucho durante nuestra estancia. Tienen 3 tipos de desayunos a elegir: maldivo, continental y pancakes. Sin duda, volveremos 100%. Nada, todo estuvo muy bien.

A destacar la amabilidad de su personal Ishu e Isha que se preocuparon porque todo estuviera perfecto. Nos vinieron a recoger al puerto, prepararon un desayuno excelente, nos dejaron material para el snorkel , nos dejaron hacer late check out … todo facilidades. Gracias! -

• Elina (8/5): Great hospitality and very close to great snorkeling spots - The guesthouse is a bit worn out, but we did not care because the staff ( Karissa and Krishna) were super kind and helpfull all the time. We can say that the beach is easy to reach and just in front of the hotel. We enjoyed snorkling in the sea and saw colorfull fish and a turtle as well as little sharks. Near the hotel there were many shops and restaurants. We were able to have relaxing time because the island was silent and we had the impression that it was a safe enviroment.
• Daphne (10/5): Awesome customer service steps from the beach - We found Beach Veli to be the best option for us in Ukulhas. The room was really spacious and perfectly clean fitted with aircon as well as ventilator. We got beach towels and could use snorkels & fins every day free of charge. Perfect location steps away from the bikini beach… there was nothing not to like. I want to point out the excellent service separately, as the team at the Beach Veli wasn’t shy to fulfill special wishes (laundry, late checkout…) with a big smile. Due to food poisoning I was in the hospital for one day and the owner Thol himself stopped by, brought me a fresh coconut and had the restaurant cooking a special recovery soup. Excellent stay!! We’re very thankful and can wholeheartedly recommend. The WiFi did sometimes act up, but this would only bee important if you need to work /have meetings.

Sea with waves and very close to a nice snorcheling reef you can spot many colorful fish and sharks there. I really like the location (compared to the other side of the island). The rooms are not cleaned every day, the bedsheets and towels are washed but are very used, there were stains on the bedsheets and towels. Everything is very old, doesn't correspond to the pictures. Staff is nice but not very attentive and don't speak English very well... it is too expensive for what it is.

Amazing location and big rooms. All of the bed sheets are stained. Had huge stains on the sheets and pillow cases. I asked to have them changed and was told all of the sheets have stains from food which to me makes no sense. They definitely need to spend money replacing the sheets as this would put me off staying again if not. All you want is a clean bed!
• Kristina (10/5): I had a fantastic time while staying in Beach Veli. - I wanted cute little guesthouse, more far away from resorts and I got that Plus I liked this side of beach more, it has much less people and fantastic reef. Staff was also lovely and helpful and as a bonus this guesthouse is surrounded by fantastic restaurants with great prices.
• Clive (10/5): A wonderful and memorable stay, with a very kind and courteous island population. - Owner and staff went out of their way to help in any way they could, and offerred anything that was not immediately available. They were all extremely attentive at all times. A really friendly and inviting attitude. There wasn't anythiing that we didn't like, and if there was something that we found missing or out of order, this was immediately fixed. The breakfast wasn't 'fabulous' as stated in the Booking.com advert,, but every effort was made by the owner/staff to satisfy one's particular choice. We highly recommend you wear water shoes when entering the sea as there is a lot of underwater coral and stones which make standing on the bottom quite painful. Sadly there is a lot of construction going on in order to provide for more tourism which will, in time, undoubtedly spoil this beautiful atol of Ukulhas
• Lindsey (9/5): Friendly, comfortable place to stay on lovely Ukulhas Island! - This place is wonderfully located on a beautiful island. The staff is wonderful -- they picked me up from the ferry and walked me to the guesthouse, which is about 30 steps from an absolutely amazing beach, were you can go snorkeling (for free!) and see nurse sharks, reef sharks, sea turtles, sting rays, and soooo many fish. The staff at Beach Veli even loaned me snorkeling fins for free. They have a couple of cozy little beach pods for lounging in the shade on the sand, and their breakfast is fantastic. There are lots of good restaurants for dinner and food shops around town...it's all completely wonderful and I wish I could have stayed longer. Not sure if this is the case for all the rooms, but mine didn't have any windows, so it was a bit cave-like. And there are little rodents (not sure if they're big mice or small rats) that run around on the island at night and one of them was determined to visit my room each night by wiggling in through the space under the door. Feel the nature!

They were flexible with meal timings given my itinerary, and ensured I had a comfortable stay. They assisted with transportation to and from the island, making my travels very smooth. I enjoyed the location, both on Ukulhas, and it's proximity to the beach as well as some restaurants and the ferry terminal. Beach Veli also helped me arrange my dives, which were wonderful!

We loved also the location right in front of a great beach (but no chairs, umbrellas or sun beds were provided, maybe this could be nice!) From our window you could see just a wall, but it is often like this on the island. Other rooms had bigger windows facing the garden. The common areas (breakfast and garden) have a lot of potential but to us they lacked on cleanliness and care, which is a pity.

• Teemu (8/5): Good price-quality ratio - Small boutique guest house run by the owner and one employee. Excellent location right next to the beach. Kind customer service. The owner is very polite and arranges for example trips for fishing, manta ray safaris and snorkeling/diving. There's only three options for the breakfast, so if you stay longer they start to repeat each other. The rooms could need a bit maintenance. There's a lot of construction work of the big hotels going on on the island and after they are ready, I think the small island will be very crowded.
• Annelies (9/5): Super nice stay - would stay again - Nice little hotel with good big beds. Breakfast is nice and the breakfast-space is pleasant. Location right next to the beach Ukulhas is a super island in general, with a big bikini beach, lots of schady spots at the beach and super nice snorkeling right on the beach. You can see loads of fish, reefsharks and turtles just there ! We went to dhangeti as well, and this island was definitely prettier for a long stay. Trips we did theough the hostel were super nice too Trips with the owner are very good, but make sure you get an extra confirmation the night before. We agreed to do a trip on friday, but then he never confirmed or cancelled and the trip didnt take place. We had enough time and just went another day, but if you have a tight schedule this might have been a bummer

• Gergana (10/5): Exceptional - I just love meeting other guests and making friends and sharing excursions together. The closeness to the beach. The nice staff. Thol is very helpful and kind and Krishna is just wonderful with the guests. I have a wonderful experience there. I loved learning how to prepare the Maldivian breakfast in the morning and meeting the neighbours and cool with them. I will never forgot my beautiful stay at Beach Veli! The darkness in the room. Clothes cannot dry at the room you should put everything you need to dry outside or give it to wash at the guest house.
• Wioletta (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing place! Close to the beach and beautiful snorkelling spot. Rooms are spacious, with aircon & hot shower. Delicious breakfast with vegetarian option. The owner is super helpful, organized a speed boat & snorkelling tour with really reasonable price. Totally recommend! Hope will back in the future 🤞
• Cristian (9/5): Lost in paradise. - Staff very friendly and useful. Staff always gave us good piece of advise regarding trips and restaurants. Owner offered us fish dinner, capture of the day for very cheap price. Location very close to beach. Lots of buildings under construction and too much trash on the island but I think this is something usual nowadays in Maldives.
• Gergana (10/5): Unforgettable stay at Beach Veli - One step from the beach! Very Nice staff. Great breakfast. Thank you Krishna ! In the guest house these is a peasant peaceful atmosphere. You can meet wonderful cool people there. Thol organize great excursions. I highly recommend the sunset fishing. Thank you for your kind attentions. Thank you for introducing me the the local women community. I met great local friends and I learned to cook some Maldivian dishes.

• Heidi (8/5): Very good - The location is great. Beautiful beach just next to the guesthouse. Also the staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was ok, but no windows in the room and no way to dry the floor or clothes, so everything stayed wet all the time. The aircon was good, but it didn't help the matter. Also very bad smell in the toilet. The room was ok for a few days, but wouldn't stay for a long time.
• Laura (7/5): Good - Great value for money. Nice location right opposite a beach and reef that is fab if there is no wind. Great breakfast. Ad-lib water. Shampoo and soap provided in the shower. Collected bag from the boat when it arrived late. Escorted to and from the ferry. Arranged ferry transfer. Good WiFi. Lots to like. I have a feeling the same owners run the big dive centre on the island so had I have seen the owner/manager before would have been good to use them. Room was truly dark, needing lights on even on the brightest of days. Sheets were stained. Cockroaches in bathroom.... I accept is part of being somewhere hot and not much anyone can do about it but be aware. TV didn't work, there was no aerial socket.....who needs a tv when on a beautiful island....recommend remove it altogether.

The rooms were descent and clean but nothing special about them honestly but they had all the facilities mentioned, the motel is very down to earth and chill. The staff were very friendly and kind. Breakfast was average.

Things to know about Ukhulas Island: - Locals here are indifferent to tourists and rarely smiling - Food in supermarket and restaurants is not too expensive when compared to western Europe but all activities (excursions, tours and diving) are very expensive

• Lydia (9/5): I really enjoyed my stay at Beach Veli. Tho and his staff were very good and helpful. I especially enjoyed going out wit - A beautiful beach was just minutes from my room. The Maldivian breakfast was good. They efficiently managed my pickup and departure from and to the airport. They also arranged for a guide to take me snorkeling which was wonderful.

• Steph (10/5): Absolutely loved Beach Veli - We will be back! - Loved Beach Veli. Large rooms with comfortable beds. Good shower and many towels were provided. It was quiet despite a number of other guests staying there. Thol was an incredible host/owner, you felt like part of his family. Thol went above and beyond at all times to ensure you had the best experience while staying at Beach Veli. He showed us from the ferry terminal to Beach Veli and told us all the important things we should know about Ukulhas on the way. The house reef is incredible and only a short walk from Beach Veli. We will be back, I will be recommending Beach Veli, Thol and his team to everyone!

• Stefano (8/5): Very good - Staying at Beach Veli made our holidays Special. The room was quite simple but has everything needed. Location is amazing, right in front of the most beautiful beach strip in Ukulhas with a great house reef easily accessible with plenty of sardines, few turtles and some friendly nurse sharks. One of my favourite snorkles in Maldives just in front of the hotel! Thol, the owner, organized everything we needed, including many trips for Mantas, sharks, half day sandbank and several scuba dives. The staff was very friendly and helpful too. Definitely recommended! Value for money for the room could be better but it's an issue everywhere in Maldives. Things get definitely compensated by the number and quality of activities and trips organized.
• Hubert (10/5): Exceptional - perfect place on the calm side of the island. They serve breakfasts which are included in the price and you are just 5 metres away from the beach Loud russian people who do not respect the rules. They put their clothes on the sunbeds evening before so nobody takes them. They behave very loud, not respsecting other people's privacy. It's not hotel's fault thats why I give 10/10 for the hotel
• Hanekom (10/5): A friend and I booked a spontaneous trip to the Maldives and randomly came upon Beach Veli. We didn’t know that we would - The location was perfect and the host made us feel so at home! The rooms were nice and big with airconditioning. The location was literally right on the beach! Nothing!!! Everything was amazing!!

• Razvan-viorel (10/5): Jaleel - To resume, the owner Jaleel is an amazing person that will arrange everything you want to do in terms of activities, recommendations, etc. He is a dedicated person and extremely kind. Nevertheless, he is a professional guy! If you need something to be arranged for you even on closer islands like Rasdhoo, just call Jaleel. The fact we didn’t spend our entire holiday there.
