Guest Reviews

- Nicole (10/5): - We spent one night at riad les Chrifis. It is absolutely beautiful and the owners were very kind and welcoming. Breakfast was fantastic and the location is very convenient. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Fes!
- Sarah (10/5): - Beautiful historic family owned riad with amazing mosaic and carved stone interior. Close to the blue gate but also in the heart of the souks so great shopping and convenience all around. Had a quiet comfortable sleep and breakfast was good! If you want an authentic Fez experience in the ancient medina this is a great choice.
- Alice (10/5): - Really lovely couple running a beautiful riad. We struggled the find our way initially but we called them and they helped. We ended up with the huge room downstairs which can fit 6 which was nice space to have. Good hot water in shower and really quiet. Also spent some time chilling on the roof.
We parked nearby in a public parking and it was 50 Dh and no problem (guarded, had a ticket machine and barriers)
Overall great stay!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent séjour - Très bien situé, tres calme et magnifique cour interieure et décoration. Personnel très agréable et accueillant
- Michael (10/5): - Owner operated. Very welcoming and accommodating.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The location was great, and the courtyard was beautiful. However, the rooms were outdated and dirty. It’s clear that cleanliness and maintenance are not a priority. Disappointing experience.
- Minghui (10/5): Nice Hotel Good location - Very convenient, clean, and comfortable hotel. breakfast is very good.
- ANDRES (10/5): Good place to experience the Medina of Fes - Clean, warm water, air heating, and good location.
- Roma (4/5): - Falta atención en los textiles.
- Sarah (10/5): - Lovely Riad. Mr Aliwi was welcoming, helpful and kind as was his assistant. Breakfast was wonderful. We really enjoyed our week stay.
- Nour (10/5): Awesome place and Awesome city - Amazing stay, very nice Riad, the workers were very helpful, snd the owner helped us and took us in a trip to show us around in Fes,also dropped us off to train station.
- Cristina De (10/5): - Muy hermoso lugar.
- DAPHNE (8/5): - Riad its self was beautiful. Rooms were cute, small…. Riad vibes. AC in room.
- Fareez (10/5): Great Riad - Love this Riad. It’s so close to all attractions and only 5 minutes walk from the Blue gate. Nice breakfast and a great service from the youngster Abdul Cader who went out of his way to help us. Very polite, professional and a helping guy.
- Sonja (10/5): Stunning place with friendly service - We loved Riad Les Chrifis. As soon as we walked through the door, we were in awe of the place! Its absolutely beautiful. The owner picked us up at the train station for a fee. It's a family owned business. They were friendly, conversational, and very helpful. The location is perfect if you want to be in the medina and close to the tombs. It's located 6mins walk away from the Blue Gate. They prepared a simple yet yummy breakfast. And, we were able to have our laundry done for a fair price. I would highly recommend Riad Les Chrifis.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice Riad, but needs a lot of work! - The Riad is nice but unfortunately the rooms just aren't maintained very well. The beds are very hard, towels and bedsheets need desperately replacing.
We regret not doing more research before booking this.
Omar was very nice and helpful.
- AQEEL (6/5): - Place is very old and in dire need of repairs. The rooms are extremely small and very basic. Bathroom are not ventilated properly and the linens were in shabby condition. Breakfast was very average. Just few pastries/bread and coffee/tea. No fruits or eggs. The support staff is very friendly and helpful. There are other Riads much better than this one in Old Medina.
- Chaoying (2/5): - I forgot my tablet at this property, I asked owner to mail my tablet to me, I will pay all the shipping cost. The owner refused it, he said that the only way for me to get my tablet is that I pick up by myself at his place, I already came back USA, it is impossible for me to do so, I believer that the owner knew that I can't come back his property for my tablet. My all personal information on this tablet without any PW. This is my first time having these kind unhappy experience.
- TOSHIYUKI (10/5): - Staff was very kind to me.
- Yusuf (8/5): - The setting of the Riad was very good. Interior was very clean the check in was very easy. The manager provided hot mint tea and cookies at the check in which we appreciated.
The rooms were very small and there was some stinking smell in the bathroom. Also there was not soap and shampoo in the shower. Interior of the rooms seemed very old and needs major upgrades.
The breakfast provided was excellent and the breakfast room was very well appointed.
- Jason (10/5): - Beautiful place, and right in the heart of everything. Very hospitable and welcoming staff.
- Whitney (2/5): Do not be fooled. - These pictures are completely misleading. The Riad is very dated and the rooms are dusty and poorly maintained. This booking was a terrible decision. the bathrooms were extremely poorly lit. The towels were old and needed to be replaced. The beds needed new mattresses and the linens were unlaundered and dusty. DO NOT STAY HERE.
- Cristina (10/5): Exceptional Riad in the Médina - Riad is super well located in the Médina. Beautiful lobby and common area decorations. Peaceful and quiet.
Staff was great and the owner is truly exceptional. Mr. Alaoui has helped us find à Fès guide, safe parking and chatter with us over breakfast. He was available at all times by phone or email.
Rooms were spacious and well furnished.
- Sophie (10/5): Beautiful - Beautiful Riad tucked away in the Médina. Has a lovely garden in the centre and the staff are super friendly and helpful! Would 100% recommend
Empfehlenswert!
- RichBrookes (10/5): Perfect stay. - The staff were very friendly and always ready to offer some help. A warm, friendly place to stay in the heart of the Médina. The first day we arrived late and they offered us dinner, although it was not part of their usual services: good tasty dinner for 2 for €20. 10/10 fir this stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The Riad is in a good location. The room we got is not what i expected. The guy at the reception is very nice and helpful though. The lobby is gorgeous. The room needs improvement.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Bon accueil. Personnel attentionné et serviable. Beau patio.
- Vera0891 (10/5): My home away from home - My second stay at this riad and certainly not my last.
Came to visit my friend who lives nearby this riad. Started out as ‘just need a place to sleep’, but eventually fell in love with this place.
Quiet, friendly staff and really clean rooms. Nice roof terras. Walking distance to every main attraction.
It’s not fancy, but it gives you the home-feeling. And that’s more important.
Some people complain about cold in the evening (when it’s winter), but I find that that’s nothing a sweater and heater can’t fix.
Keep in mind that some websites offer you the possibility to book a room in advance, but they can’t always provide you the room that you asked for. It’s a flaw in some bookingsystems.
- jamminmcallen (10/5): Great Location, Friendly Staff - The riad is bang in the middle of the medina. The staff are really friendly and polite. Everywhere very clean and pleasant. We were there in February and the rooms could get a bit cold during the night. Hot water is fine though, and if you take a spare blanket it's all groovy.
- juangM8851FY (2/5): A nightmare come true - My sister invited siblings, partners and kids for his birthday anniversary for a trip to Morocco. Everything was going high on heels till we got to this Riad. Although the reservation was 3 cuádruple rooms for 11 people, the owner had only 1 cuádruple, 1 triple and 1 double and he insisted on us paying extra for another double in a different Riad. He was unpleasant and was trying to get advance of the fact that the kids were little and tired. Part of the entourage decided that wanted to live ASAP and he refused to turn them their passports back. We’ve never experienced nothing like it. After a serious discussion we got our documents and were left out in the middle of the medina with luggage and kids.
Unpleasant, bad service and worst empathy. We’re now in a wonderful riad with no problems at all.
- Jennifer (8/5): Great 3 star family vacation base - Great quiet base to explore Fez. Dinners and breakfasts at the Riad were fab for even picky eaters. Be sure to dress warm in the winter - it gets chilly within those thick walls and tiled floors. Heaters in the bedrooms were thoughtfully turned on in the afternoon.
- Marco (8/5): - Riad molto caratteristico in ottima posizione, personale molto cordiale
- Shanna (10/5): Beautiful Riad - Beautiful hotel located in the medina of Fez. The staff were friendly and very helpful, especially with organizing a taxi for me to the airport in the wee hours of the morning. It's a shame I didn't have more time to spend in Fez and at the Riad, the property and rooms are stunning. It is tucked away in the medina down one of the smaller alleys, I believe it was in the same area as the Roco Riad.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Pittoresk boende mitt i medina, nära till. rekommenderas varmt
- gerhardb967 (10/5): tranquil retreat in the middle of medina - The riad is a welcoming place, with a nice inner garden en roofterrace. Our family suite was conveniently located at the ground level. Our communication with the riad was very good, english with the owner or french. although the first night was chillish, the second night we were given more than enough blankets - on request. We would definitely recommend the riad foe a stay with your family.
- Claudia (10/5): Genial!!
- jesseb297 (8/5): Omar is top! - Nice clean quiet place in the Medina!
Omar is a good honest host. He makes us feel at home! He also ruled a good guide to lead is through the Medina!
The owner must be glad with him!
Our room was what we did expect.
The improvement could be the bed and hard matresse! We had a great time!
- N1811NAnicolew (6/5): Meh - Asked for money upfront. Said they accept credit cards then when I got there said the machine was broken. Room was well-maintained, slept comfortably, easy enough to get to Bab Bjloud. Breakfast provided, tea and Moroccan bread. There is a terrace and couches on the garden level.
- Moose-on-Vacation (10/5): Like a fairytale from 1001 nights / Comme un conte des 1001 nuits - We spent two nights at Les Chrifis, in a gigantic room that felt like a palace, leading directly into the inner courtyard with its orange trees and beautiful detailled artwork. The food was good, the owners extremely heartwarming and always happy to help us with any questions. The narrow streets of the Medina do literally start at the doorstep. We would definitely come back again!
- carmenpB9421XA (10/5): Amazing stay - The Riad has a central and easy location inside the Medina. It's not far from the Blue Gate and close to shops and restaurants! It looks like a filmset, beautiful mosaics and a lovely orange tree in the middle. The personal approach, the helpful staff and the surroundings made our stay as lovely as possible. The room was nice, the shower hot and the bed was a bit hard but comfortable. The arranged guide on our second day was wonderful and was an interesting person. All the luck for you guys! Thanks for having us.
- carlosaS9288WP (10/5): Perfect option!! - The riad is a kind of arab palace.it was buillt 300 years ago. The feeling when you arrive is like you're in other age. All is very clean and the personal is friendly and polite. I recommend it. We returned!!!
- abdeli2016 (10/5): Excellent, spacious riad - This is a very nice and spacious riad in the old city of Fes. We liked the small garden and water fountain in the middle of the riad. Mr. Issam is very helpful and has lots of tips and recommendations! We would stay here anytime!!
- guernicastravels (8/5): beautiful hotel, friendly staff, good location - but negotiate room rates - Beautiful and very large room (we took the largest one on the ground floor - the other room there was too dark and a little small), and the good breakfast in the courtyard is wonderful with sparrows and fruit trees. They can arrange taxi from airport to hotel for 150dh, which is only a little more than the fixed price and very convenient.
At this price, there should be heaters in the bedrooms (was cold at night - although that won't be a problem for most of the year). Also coffee and tea available all the time. The guide organised through the hotel was okay but you could find better. They also need to be more aware about other guests making noise in the courtyard immediately outside bedrooms late at night. However, the staff are super nice and accommodating and made the stay a positive one overall.
The hotel is very very beautiful, especially the morning birdsong in the courtyard garden as you eat breakfast - such a nice way to begin each day!
- omarar9 (8/5): Fantastic facilities and service in a great location - Located in the heart of the medina in the old fortified city of Fes, what we witnessed upon entry was completely unexpected. Greeted by a beautiful courtyard, with birds singing and orange and lemon trees blossoming, we probably could not have entered into a more relaxed environment after a three hour flight. Our stay was very pleasant, with clean rooms of a good size, the interior design of which give the room a very authentic feel. The management were also very accommodating. As well as preparing breakfast for us every morning, they also arranged for our airport pick up and were very kind throughout, even allowing our group to stay up in the terrace until the most ridiculous hours, making a lot of noise in the process. Overall, a place I would definitely recommend and revisit.
