• roberthT6898HE (10/5): Great Stay. Our Osaka Home Away from Home. - This review is LONG overdue, and our apologies to the amazing staff at the Moxy Osaka Honmachi. We had the pleasure of staying there in February 2026 for 3 nights. As Marriott Platinum members and 1st-time visitors to Osaka, we are so glad we chose this hotel. We knew we were not staying at a high-end scale hotel and wouldn’t have access to a lounge. None of this mattered as the front desk staff (Sue, Gary, Aaron, Prajwal), bartender extraordinaire (Wind), the sales manager (Mr. Tanwar), and hotel manager (S.Mizoguchi-san) were exceptionally friendly, helpful, accommodating, and professional. We had notified the hotel that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary as well as a birthday. They went above and beyond to make our time there special. Rooms – Our room was super spacious (not your typical small Japanese 250sq ft) and clean. Quiet neighborhood at night; no noise heard from other rooms or in the hallway. Food – We were provided several $10 F&B coupons and drink coupons for the nights we stayed. We didn’t eat breakfast there, but enjoyed their new lunch options and 24-hour late-night menu options. All reasonably priced and yummy. Extras – Aside from the fun games and gym, there is even a massage chair next to the laundry room. Location –Two different Train stations available (depending on the line); Sakaisuji Hommachi station is 5 minutes away, and Midosuji line is 10 minutes; easy to get to Kansai airport or to Osaka Shinkansen train; a few nice local restaurants; a Lawsons and a pharmacy across the street. This will be our “Home Away From Home” if we visit Osaka again. Thanks, Team Moxy Osaka Honmachi!!

• Deborah (8/5): Make sure to read room descriptions carefully (floor you’re on) - and pay careful attention to the room pics if you want - This Moxy is just a 6 minute walk from the subway so well placed to get around Osaka. The hotel has a very relaxed style and the staff are incredibly helpful. The room has everything you will need for a short stay. When we arrived we were given a room on the third floor with an opaque window. I like to see out of a window and felt that for the price (mid-level for Osaka) I wanted to at least be able to see out of a window. We asked to change rooms but were told they had no rooms with actual windows available. I tried to contact Booking.com but got nothing back other than we will contact you within 24 hours - which they never did I might add. We went out and chatted it through and decided that we would look for another hotel so headed back to The Moxy. We explained again and with a small extra outlay of £30 we got a room with a view. So my advice: if like me you need to see out of a window - be careful about the room you select if using Booking.com as it’s unlikely they’ll help you! The room was adequate for a few days but like others have said - I found the bed very hard compared to others we have had whilst in Japan. This was the 5th hotel I had booked for this trip, all with Booking.com but this experience left me a little jaded about using a third party booking agent.

The breakfast buffet was surprisingly extensive and offered everything. All the staff have been accommodating throughout our stay. I would definitely stay here on our next trip to Osaka.

Clean, modern, comfortable, close to subway. - The MOXY Osaka Honmachi is a little removed from the night life but it is easy to get to all of Osaka's attractions by walking or transit and we were happy to be in a quieter area. The lobby has a very fun vibe and the rooms themselves are smartly designed and the bathroom and shower were very nice. The staff was great - helpful and kind. We hadn't requested any specific view and the hotel is in a business area but our room was quite gloomy because the window was covered. Something to keep in mind.

• Sayaka (5/5): Overrated, overpriced, overhyped - Rooms are bigger than average hotel rooms in Japan. Not too far from two subway stations. This hotel feels more like a trendy backpackers hostel rather than a hotel. The check in staff were ok - they seem to toggle between reception, barista, bar staff and server but don't appear to excel in any of these jobs. Unlike the photos, the rooms have no windows. Some rooms do have windows but they are frosted and reinforced with steel mesh and don't open. You get filtered light at best. Don't book this hotel if you are claustrophobic. Also. Unlike the photos, there is no coffee machine in the rooms, just sachets of low grade instant coffee and sachets of tea - not even tea bags. The kettle is in the bathroom so you're basically making hot drinks next to the toilet. There are a few hooks on the wall to hang clothes although most of the hooks are above the tv or are used to hang furniture so you actually don't get much hanging space. Hallway is prison theme (I'm not joking). Very over-rated. You can easily find better value hotels in this area. I wouldn't return to this hotel.
• Lelo-Ngadi (9/5): Jung, modern, in - Mir hat an der Unterkunft die Aufmachung der Lobby gefallen, die dazu eingeladen hat dort zu verweilen. Darüber hinaus gab es einen Welcome Drink, den man während seines Aufenthalts trinken konnte. Die Metro war ca. fünf Minuten entfernt und die Zimmer waren ruhig. Direkt daneben hatte man auch mehrere Supermärkte und kleine Restaurants. So an sich war die Unterkunft sauber, aber an ein zwei Ecken im Zimmer hatte ich dann doch leider fremde Haare entdeckt.

• dougal1987 (10/5): A superb stay. Great value for money - The moxy in Osaka from start to finish was an absolute pleasure to stay at. From the welcome on arrival to the team helping with directions and facilitating the transfer of our bags to our next hotel. They spoke great English and all the staff were willing to go above and beyond. The rooms are compact but supremely clean and the housekeeping service was excellent. The breakfast was good although was very busy at times and the seating in the breakfast area was limited. This is the only minor criticism of an other great stay. The moxy is not the high end scale hotel but the service and hospitality is equal to that of a top hotel.

• Roger (10/5): Ich würde nur noch dieses Hotel in Osaka buchen :) Es ist einfach toll. - Die Lage ist perfekt! Frühstück genial! Zimmer tip top! In der Hotellobby gibt es Billard, Dart und man kann Spiele ausleihen. Es gibt auch einen kleinen Fitnessraum. Freitags spielt ein DJ auf und die Studenten aus der Umgebung kommen. Es ist eine tolle Stimmung. Das Personal hilft bei jeder Frage, alle sehr freundlich! Es gibt sehr viele verschiedene Restaurants in unmittelbarer Nähe. Zum Shoppen ist es ebenfalls fussläufig (ca. 20 min). Die U-Bahn ist in der Nähe für grössere Ausflüge... Die Klimaanlage in den Gängen zu den Zimmern ist extrem kalt eingestellt, ich hab da immer gefroren. Aber das ist Jammern auf höchstem Niveau! ;) Es gibt nichts zu beanstanden!!!

• 802jackyd (10/5): Memorable stay in Moxy - My 1st time to Japan and 1st experience in Moxy, I was not expecting too much since it’s not a premium hotel but the style and service of this one really gave me and my family a cool experience, very fortunately I selected to stay in this Moxy, acceptable room size, good facilities, wonderful food, and also good location, everything is in good shape. BTW, Gary helped me and my family a lot during the stay, which helped us on starting our memorable journey in Japan indeed. We stayed in W Osaka then as well, but this Moxy will still be a good choice for my next Japan trip definitely.

He gave us great tips on places to go, the must sees. Wind was also amazing. The facilities were very nice. We arrived to check in at the agreed check in time and were told the prior guest had not yet left our room so we had to wait a few hours before we could get in, not ideal after a long day of travel. Had paid extra to get a room with a window only to get into the room and find the window was frosted and hardly let any light in, would not pay extra for this.

Helpful, English speaking stuff exchanged us a room for the one with transparent windows. Welcome drink was nice. Multiple eating / grocery stores nearby: breakfast (Foodscape, Starbucks), dinner (Banya Hana, APE Brewing). Close to metro for Osaka Expo 2025. No touchless payment; some rooms are not having windows or windows are NOT transparent what was not stated in room’s description. Very firm mattress.

• micaylae2024 (10/5): Amazing staff - The lobby is super cute, I love the quotes everywhere, nice rooms and friendly staff. They helped me a lot with finding somewhere to do my nails! Highly recommended!! Their food is also super good and I like that they include American food. I recommend their Raspberry Chocolate coffee, it was quite impressive.

• jutsugi (10/5): Vacation - We loved the vibe, feel and central location of the Moxy. It seems equal distance to Umeda and to Namba areas. 10 minute walk to train station. Staff were very friendly and helpful We needed a later checkout which they accommodated easily and fair cost.
• nicholasmD4097DQ (8/5): Nice location, a small upgrade over just the essentials - I booked a Moxy Sleeper room as a gold member. No upgrade but at least they provided a complimentary drink at the bar. My hopes for the room were that it would be better than a business hotel but likely not at the level of a proper Westin/Marriott and I think that this hotel hit that level quite well. I noticed that this hotel also has “Secret Base” rooms with no view at all, Honestly, the window in my “Sleeper” room served little purpose anyway. This truly is a room that serves largely as your base for 1 or 2 people when out sightseeing or perhaps hanging out at the bar in the lobby. The hotel is located a couple blocks north of Sakaisuji-Honmachi station. This is honestly a great location for those doing sightseeing in the happening Namba, Dotombori, and Shinsaibashi areas. The hotel has coin-operated laundry machines on the 2nd floor but you can actually pay the washing machines by card if you use an app you can get off a QR code on the actual machines. The washing machines are sufficient however the dryers are typical Japanese business hotel dryers that aren’t quite up to anything beyond very small loads. You’re better served just hanging your clothes in your room. I honestly had a nice stay and I think the hotel nails the brand intent of a lifestyle brand appealing to young, active adults. If budget is a concern I do think that the marginal price increase is worth the upgrade over the more affordable, local business hotels.
• TheGoatTravels (8/5): Cool ambience, nice airy reception, comfortable rooms and beds - A decent Moxy, with a nice vibe and lovely airy reception. The team are helpful, obliging and knowledgeable. The rooms are very modern and clean, if not a little small in size if you have a decent amount of luggage. The area is a bit of a business district however there's plenty of taxis and metro stations nearby and the main tourist areas a very short walk away from the Hotel.
• Kathrin (7/5): Good - Room was comfortable, a little awkwardly cut though, furnishings are modern and room was quiet with a nice view Limited amenities, booking wasn't transparent as we had to still pay for an extra bed on site even though we booked for three people already

• Everingham (10/5): Fun modern well located hotel - Easy walk to train station, and very close to many cute bars and restaurants. Also the deco was very groovy with big teddy bears:) I viewed the breakfast and didnt really fancy it so we ate out.
