Guest Reviews
- Karina (10/5): - The rooms were spacious and clean. The view from the room and the outside deck was amazing and still private.
The food at the hotel was lovely and so convenient for breakfast and dinners.
- Veronika (10/5): By far the best stay of our Tasmania trip — beautiful nature, cozy details, and unforgettable atmosphere. - This was by far the best accommodation we had in Tasmania.
The huge terrace and massive glass windows made it feel like we were almost sleeping outside, surrounded by the beautiful scenery. Watching wallabies visit right outside our room was something we will never forget — it truly felt magical and uniquely Tasmanian.
We also absolutely loved the small details that made the stay feel so special and cozy. The heated bathroom floor was incredible and actually completely unique. We honestly kept thinking about those warm floors every time our feet were freezing in the bathrooms of the other places we stayed. It’s such a simple detail, but no one realizes what a huge difference it makes to comfort until they experience it.
We also really appreciated the French press coffee instead of plastic coffee pods or instant coffee. One of our favourite touches was the loose-leaf chamomile and green tea in glass jars together with the teapot. It felt much higher quality and more personal. We loved the idea so much that we bought the same tea setup for our home just so we could recreate the feeling of being there. Now every time we make tea, it reminds us of our wonderful stay at your accommodation. Nothing

- Simone (10/5): - The view across the bay was absolutely amazing and made for such a great experience. The room was spacious with kitchenette facilities to make breakfast or snacks. Only five minutes drive to Coles Bay and five more minutes into the National Park. Free laundry facilities was also appreciated.
- Victor (10/5): Great location for view & easy access to local attractions - Views across Coles Bay & to Freysinett National Park fantastic

- Jan (9/5): Beautiful! - The room (Ocean View Studio) was really comfortable - with the ocean right in front of the room. The view was amazing!! We even saw a cute wallaby in front of our room. The beach is just a few steps away from room.
The room was spacious and comfortable.
We opted for breakfast - which was so good! And we were served by a very sweet girl .... the moths that flew into the room, but guess I should have kept the net of the window closed.
- Julia (8/5): Beautiful views. - Incredible views, wildlife, peaceful. Large spacious room overlooking the bay. Staff were unhelpful and rude. No microwave in "kitchenette". No coffee facilities provided. No facilities at all for charging my EV - this is 2026 after all. For the price, I would have expected some consideration.

- Scott (8/5): Fantastic place. Views to die for. We did the 3 hour quad ride through the national forest - Awesom. - View was fantastic from any angle. Breakfast was awesome. Staff were great. Wallabies at the back veranda everyday to say hello. The restaurant was not open during our stay for the 2 days. But on a positive note it got us out and about. Town was only 5 minutes down the road.
- leanne (8/5): Stunning location - Great location, such a fabulous view to wake to every day No food available on the days we stayed and no facilities in room to even put together a simple breakfast
- Solène (10/5): -
- Barbara Anne (10/5): Wonderful location, food, staff and lodge - Location and comfort

- Mark Keefer (10/5): - Angie the Front desk manger was absolutely great. So kind and helpful. Wonderful way to start our stay by meeting her.
View from our beautiful room was amazing. We loved our room.
Ivey in the restaurant was wonderful to meet also. She always had a smile on her face and was so kind. Food was excellent. Nothing
- Rennie (9/5): Wonderfully peaceful location - Location is fantastic and only a few minutes drive into Coles Bay. We had an ocean view room and it was so peaceful sitting on the deck looking out across the bay. The restaurant is not open every night, and the two nights we spent there unfortunately coincided with the restaurant being closed.
- Maree (9/5): Stunning! - Excellent location. The view from the studio room was beautiful. Staff were very friendly and dinner in the restaurant was amazing. Big thank you to Sam for making our dining experience wonderful!
- Andrew William (10/5): Incredible hotel beautiful views and big room! - We loved being at this hotel! It’s in a stunning location. Make sure you get the ocean view rooms which are practically on the beach- and eat in the restaurant- it’s amazing! Everything about this place is great value and it’s so close to the national park and Coles Bay shops. The free laundry was a great touch! The only thing was that they close the restaurant on a Monday and Tuesday for dinner.
- Danielle (10/5): Great location in an incredibly serene environment. Breakfast and staff were amazing - Very serene with such friendly staff Nothing
- Margaret (9/5): - Great Location and amazing views
- Phil (10/5): Outstanding facility, brilliant views, private beaches, lovely staff - The view from the Ocean View room was stunning. The staff were down to earth and accommodating and every last detail was covered. Nice to have a simple breakfast without an enormous buffet, in my view. Good advice for local things to do. Leaving
- Greg (9/5): Wonderful! - Staying in Room 28 for 2 nights at “Edge of the Bay” was a memorable experience. The views are fabulous out over Coles Bay to the majestic mountains. The sunrise was amazing. I was lucky to see a wallaby grazing immediately beside my room. From the dining room overlooking the Bay I enjoyed a very good breakfast served by friendly staff. As dinner is not available on site every night, I would recommend going to The Bay Restaurant, Freycinet. Not to be missed is the walk to the famous Wineglass Bay Lookout. Also recommended is the drive to scenic Cape Tourville.
- Maclean (10/5): Perfect - Absolutely stunning location. The staff were incredibly friendly and meals in the restaurant delicious. A short drive to walks and lookouts at Freycinit It was perfect
- Cameron (9/5): -
- Adele (10/5): -

- Jaimie (10/5): -
- Michelle (9/5): Excellent - Location was amazing. Close to Freycinet for exploring. We ate one evening at restaurant -can recommend. Rooms were large and comfortable.
- Carmel (10/5): Room, location, wildlife and a delicious meal at the onsite restaurant was a 10/10 experience! - We had a wonderful 2-night stay at Edge of Bay. The location and the view from our room was amazing. We even saw some local wildlife during our stay, which added to the overall experience. We enjoyed a delicious meal at the onsite restaurant! The waitstaff were so friendly and attentive, it made our dining experience even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a truly special stay.
- Kim (9/5): - The location was amazing
- Roseanna (10/5): -
- Tracie (8/5): Lovely stay with everything we needed - Close to beach
- Gillian (9/5): Our stay was very peaceful - Beautiful area close to the bay Nothing
- Kelley (10/5): -
- Andrew (8/5): Great Stay with a View. - Lovely view from the bungalow.
Spacious accommodation.
Comfortable bed.
Having a washing machine.
A good restaurant with excellent staff and food. No equipment to dry the clothes on once they were washed in the machine. A drying rack would be useful.
- Christopher (10/5): Beautiful place, but I would find somewhere else to have breakfast - It was in an excellent location and it was just beautiful. Quite a nice place to stop after being on the road for so long. The staff was a bit moneygrubbing and seemed to have some issue with me that I never discovered. Although dinner was very good. Breakfast was not very tasty and of poor value.
- Charles (7/5): Chalet slightly tired but location made up for it - The property had good views and was quite secluded from the other rooms. When we arrived the water had been turned off so we were unable to use the bathroom for 12 hours - also there was a lack of cooking equipment and no oven gloves even though you have use of an oven and bbq. Also you are advised not to drink the water so a couple of complimentary bottles of water would have been a nice touch
- Nicolai (9/5): -
- Sandra (9/5): would go back - restaurant was great, Room was on the "edge" kangaroos on our verandah
- Andrew (9/5): -
- Karen (9/5): - Friendly staff, quiet, comfortable and great location

- Diane (10/5): -
- Brian (10/5): -
- Alison Argo (10/5): - The best! Everything
- Alexander (9/5): Wonderful stay with amazing views - Very comfortable suites with amazing views. Spacious rooms and very comfortable king size bed.
Pleasant staff and great breakfast and evening meal in the restaurant with those fabulous views across the water to the Hazards mountains in Freycinet National Park Quite expensive but on par with similar accommodation in the area
- Concetta (7/5): -
- Petra (10/5): - Heerlijk strandje bij de locatie, goed restaurant met heerlijk ontbijt en diner.
- JANE (10/5): - We knew we were being extravagant booking our oceanside studio here but it was worth it. Walking through the door to see a full wall of windows looking over the ocean and the Hazards mountains behind was fabulous. It had a private patio with access to the beach. The room was so comfortable and spacious. Lovely bathroom . The included breakfast was really good and we enjoyed 2 dinners in the restaurant . It was so convenient to visit Freycinet national park. A minor point but the dinner menu was quite limited and the same both nights
- kurt (10/5): Wonderful relaxing place in a beautiful area - We loved this property. The beach was amazing, the restaurant was great. We stayed in the older cabins and they are a bit “tired” but adequate with privacy -!: plenty of room to spread out, we even had a lovely view of the water. The bed was not very comfortable
- Anne (9/5): - Great location, amazing views from property.
- scott (9/5): Great staff breaky average but dinner outstanding would Stand up against Syd Brian Goldy and Melbourne - Best dinner ever Zero
- Lizzie (10/5): - The view from the room was amazing, staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area - gave great recommendations for walks to do and dinner places. We also had dinner at the restaurant which was great. Nothing!
- Stephanie (10/5): -
- David (10/5): -
- RyLee (9/5): - The location and natural landscaping and the abundance of animals and birds the natural landscaping supports. The electrical plugs were underneath the bed in such tight quarters that my US to Aussie adapter for my CPAP wouldn't fit so I did without the CPAP for that night. A power strip plugged into one of the under-bed outlets would solve that problem.
- Susan (10/5): Loved our 2 night stay at property with easy access to Freycinet national park - Beautiful sea view from room. Easy access to beach and even saw wallabies n our ‘garden’ area.
Excellent welcome from Hilary on reception and service from Sam in the restaurant.
Free laundry facilities a bonus. Nothing
- Danny (10/5): Awesome. We’ll be back. - Picture postcard view without getting out of bed. Nothing.
- Jules (10/5): -
- Lada (10/5): -
- Frances (9/5): Fabulous - We spent 2 glorious days here and loved the quiet location and view. Outstanding We loved it all
- Jennifer (10/5): best!!! - We had the most incredible stay at Edge of the Bay – a place that somehow manages to be both peaceful and breathtaking from the moment you arrive. The views are picture-perfect, the rooms are modern and beautifully kept, and the whole property feels like a little pocket of Tasmanian paradise.
A very special mention must go to Angie, who completely elevated our stay. She was warm, welcoming, and genuinely went out of her way to make everything effortless. Her local knowledge, friendly personality, and thoughtful touches made us feel so well looked after. You can tell she truly cares about the guests and the experience they have.
If you’re heading to the east coast, do yourself a favour and book Edge of the Bay. We can’t wait to come back! that we couldn’t stay in Room 28 longer
- Tina (10/5): -
- Alison (8/5): Short and sweet - The view was stunning, and the location perfect for the business event we were attending. I didn't have information in my room about what time for free breakfast was on from and until. This would be helpful as I didn't remember what the lady at reception had told me, and when i phoned after 5pm I was only able to leave a message.
- Claire (10/5): Beautiful and relaxing spot to stay - We had an ocean front studio and the views were amazing. The beach was right in front of us and it was lovely to take a stroll along the beach and look for shells. Had a little visit from a wallaby at night and lots of gorgeous little presumably wild bunnies running around early evening which i loved. We also loved trying to capture the aurora lights which our camera phones at night as the sky was mostly clear and we got some lovely pics. We were here in June and the resort was quiet which we loved as we wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle. The studio room had everything we needed. A microwave would be a nice to touch to have in the studio out of season as the onsite restaurant was closed during our stay but other than that it was perfect. Highly recommend this place. Nothing! Everything was perfect.
- Cui (10/5): -

- Deepak (9/5): -
- Louise (10/5): - A fantastic place! Very nice ocean view rooms, very nice breakfast and a very good restaurant. Absolutely recommendable!
- Jason (10/5): -
- Julie (10/5): Had the best time staying at Edge of the Bay. Great location close to Freycinet National Park and Coles Bay, and amazing - Amazing views and great facilities on site. Lack of proper black-out blinds in the suites was a problem when other guests would walk right in front of our room and look right in.
- Slawomir (10/5): -
- Alessandro (10/5): Avevamo i wallaby davanti la porta… priceless - Posizione splendida e cucina del ristorante eccellente… anche colazione ottima Tutto perfetto
