• Noethi (8/5): Fantasic location and excellent breakfast - This hotel is located just near the Lake Constance and features an excellent breakfast and highly professional and attentive personnel. Ideal for jogging along the lake and it comes as well with a small fitness center and a wellness section (not included in price). Not the newest hotel but the rooms are basically renovated.

• TrophyRachelle (8/5): Great to find a hotel in CH for this price - I didn’t ask for the lake view as I was riding my j by Ike around the lake, and really just wanted a cheap hotel. So I’m grateful for my view of the parking lot, because it was comfy and I wasn’t in the room except to sleep. Breakfast comes with the room and I usually don’t take the hotel breakfasts because they aren’t what I want. It was ok, with a view of the lake.

• pdjtraveler (6/5): Comfortable hotel, poor internet - Comfortable room, well appointed. Secure storage for bicycles on our trip around Lake Constanz, tasty breakfast. The hotel appears to be in need of updating. Our biggest complaint was poor internet connectivity which is becoming a necessity for international travelers.

• Tuschg (4/5): Iced Coffee very poor - Stayed here in 1983 for my wedding and decided to test the restaurant with one of their superb iced coffees. The ice cream menu was full of promise with different flavours and an elaborate sauce. The 3 ice creams when served consisted only of iced coffee topped by whipped cream and poor expresso. The Maitre d' explained that it was made by an apprentice in the kitchen who was unaware of the recipe or the menu and there was nothing that he could do about it. We complained, paid and beat a retreat - perhaps it will have improved in 10 years time but my expectation is that it will be demolished and rebuilt properly to meet the requirements of the new flats being built next door. Maybe they will offer cream teas but that needs someone in the kitchen able to follow the recipe for scones.

• Verified traveler (4/5): - Die Lage des Hotels und der Blick vom Balkon auf den Hafen sind einzigartig, vorallem kann man direkt an der Badestelle im See schwimmen gehen! Toll! Allerdings muss man wirklich was die Zimmer und die Einrichtung in allen Bereichen des Hotels deutliche Abstriche machen, es ist alles sehr sehr abgenutzt, alt und sanierungsbedürftig. Fußleisten fallen ab, die Einrichtung stammt aus den Siebzigern. Richtig wohlfühlen fühlt sich anders an, dafür bemüht sich das Personal sehr.

Kaffee zum Frühstück wird zwar gebracht aber mit dem Hinweis, wo die Kaffeemaschine steht zur Selbstbedienung. Personal trägt tw. an der Reception keine Maske. Geht gar nicht!

• Marion (4/5): Nie wieder - Das Hotel ist heruntergekommen und wirkt alles in allem lieblos. Die Standardzimmer sind bei hohen Temperaturen sehr stickig und heiss. Wellness und Fitnessbereich sind auch nicht einladend. Im Hotel lagen viele Bibeln und religiöse Flyer. Selbst auf den Zuckerbeuteln waren Bibelsprüche. Wie ist dieses Hotel zu 4Sternen gekommen? Preis/Leistung stimmt gar nicht. Ich würde dieses Hotel nicht weiterempfehlen. Es war sehr enttäuschend. Die Lage ist jedoch super.

• vesalian (6/5): Nice waterfront location, but way below expectations - Beautiful location - on the lake of Constance (Bodensee), walking distance from railway station of Romanshorn. Facility totally outdated with remnants of the late 70ies. Harsh front desk staff (she kept on talking to somebody else in front of us). We were a family with two kids (@12 & 11yrs) and were given a room on the 3rd floor with a small balcony and superb view of the lake. The place where they had us put our bicycles overnight was a total mess and a disgrace that it is used for guest purposes (hopefully the kitchen looks better). Our guest room was clean, but super tiny for the four of us and there was no A/C to cool it down. Restaurant with a deck was nice for dinner, and food was OK. Smoking people all over outside - sorry, there is no non-smoking zone. Breakfast buffet mediocre at most. 1 room for 4 including breakfast priced @ 350 swiss francs.
• mikemurray2009 (6/5): Nice hotel, walking distance from the downtown, and on the waterfront - Great location. Walked there from the train station with my bags no problem. On the waterfront and has a decent breakfast buffet and good service. Staff were super nice and pleasant. Nice restaurant and patio overlooking the waterfront. Rooms had no aircon but windows opened and your down at the lake so this was not an issue. Be sure to get a room overlooking the water with a balcony.
• 589paulag (6/5): A bit outdated - After a day of rainy cycling we just took thw first place we came to. Expensive but you Ay for the area. Rathee outmoded. No wifi or tv receprion on 4th floor. But we were given a hefty discount the next day when we complained. So the boss is fair.
• 674vicc (6/5): Lakeside location - Not the best looking hotel from the outside but the location is lovely and the staff were fantastic The room was clean tidy with great views from the balcony. The main thing that lets it down is the lack of air conditioning in the rooms, very missed in this weather. On the upside when I asked for a fan for the room, one was placed in my room when I returned Great food in the restaurant at the evening meal. Breakfast outside overlooking the lake was a great start to the day
• woefdram (6/5): No four star ranking worth - Old hotel, from the outside looking very poor and my room was in the same condition, see pictures. The location of the hotel is very nice and the hotel parking is free (if you can find a free spot since there are only a few places) I hope your car is not too big since the parking space is very narrow. Otherwise you have to pay for parking (8CHF/day).The staff is friendly and the meals are ok. What very nice is however is the terrace at the harbor side. The you have a nice view over harbor and the Bodensee. The free WIFI is very good.
• 944AP (10/5): Updated 70's classic, good for families - We had newly refurbished rooms with decor that kept 70's modernist spirit. Rooms were spacious, very clean, firm beds, with new bathrooms and balcony and outdoor table and chairs to enjoy the lake views. Free parking and hotel opens onto parkland with playground for children, so children can run around.
• EK63 (8/5): Not to bad - Hotel offers all the amenities, rooms are spacious, lots of packing space and most importantly, clean. Staff are willing to go the extra mile and very helpful. They were renovating the rooms on the 2nd floor and I understand the rooms will be better.
• taffywire (2/5): Welcome to the seventies - Not sure where the picture of the room came from above, but it did not bear any resemblance to the one I had. To say it was very small and basic is an understatement, I could touch both the wall and my wardrobe and the bed was very a small single. The room was very hot and I couldn't open the window to cool it down, so a pretty miserable nights sleep (or lack of it). Shower in the morning kept getting very hot, dangerously so, in fact after it happen three times I got out of the shower. Breakfast was minimal with very limited choice and to make matter worse this great view everybody talks about was fog bound, not the hotels fault that one.
• Global_Traveller_Pat (6/5): Lovely lakeside hotel - Peaceful and quiet surrounding. Spacious room with balcony overlooking the greenery and the lake. Facilities may be a bit outdated but clean and tidy on the whole. The hotel is so close to the lakeshore that you can take a leisure walk to enjoy the fresh air and beautiful flowers anytime you wish.
• accia82 (4/5): Under my expectations - I was here in July for business because all hotels around friedrichshafen were already booked. Staff was very polite and room cleaned, but it was very hot with no air conditioning. Towels for shower were not present the first and the third day. Breakfast is good and the location is very nice but the structure itself is quite old
• WendyW492 (8/5): A hotel with a view - This hotel is set in a park the view from our balcony was of the park, a church a harbour of small boats and the Bodensee lake, it was beautiful, you can sit on the balcony and listen to the birds singing. The staff were all very helpful. They have a restaurant on site so you can go half board or just bed and breakfast and choose from their a la carte menu. The room was kept immaculate by the cleaner and fully stocked with toiletries. The boats and trains are just a ten minute walk away through the park for your days out.
• WingL_12 (8/5): Lakeshore Gem - We travelled with a group and the hotel was booked by our travel agent. We stayed in the hotel for just a night before we did a tour around Switzerland. The ensuite room was clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly. The restaurant offered an excellent view of the lakeshore and dinner/breakfast was good. It was an ideal place to be if one wants tranquility and relaxation.
• JimS-SB (8/5): Nice Quiet Hotel on the Lake - We were traveling from Austria to the Black Forest and booked a night at this hotel. It was such a pleasant change of pace from the crowded old town centers of Salsburg and Innsbruck. It is located in a sleepy little town on lake Constance. The hotel has a park next to it and a marina in front of it. If you want a quiet break while traveling europe in August, this is the place.
