- Hillary (8/5): We will stay here again. - Close to town! Newer feel Soft beds
- William (8/5): - Good
- Collins (10/5): great! - I loved the option of the omelet bar; I'm gluten free so it's nice to have the option of something delicious, warm, and filled with protein. It was made to perfection both mornings! The reason I booked with your hotel and not a different hotel was the advertisement of the hot tub. When I got to the facility I was informed that the hot tub was not available and under construction. That could have been advertised a little differently.
- Thomas (6/5): Not really pet friendly at all - The room was great however I was charged more than I was expecting when I booked the room it was supposed to be 120 something and it ended being 160something Your pet friendly and accommodations suck
- Moa (10/5): Comfortable - Nice ambiance and cozy vibes!
- Terry (8/5): great place to stay - I loved the door to outside. It was great nothing
- trina (10/5): Very welcoming, nice simple breakfast, and comfortable rooms - Walking distance to the town , it was clean and friendly I can’t think of a negative
- Mark (8/5): -
- Ronald (8/5): A great stopover on our way to Jackson, WY - Location was great!! Staff was great! The property/furniture is showing it’s age; looks like a renovation of another section is underway though

- Linda (10/5): -
- Steve (10/5): - I've been staying at the Stagecoach for 30+ years ... they have made updates to their rooms and bathrooms, and they have a full breakfast for guests each morning. Also located next to the Salmon River ... beautiful spot for a walk or just sitting by the river and relaxing.
- Wayne (9/5): - Easy access and great location being on the river and close to downtown
- Dave (10/5): -
- Traci (10/5): - Nice and clean property. Easy walking to nearby park. Dog friendly!
- Kelli (10/5): - Easy to get to and check in as we were late to check in. Rooms are clean and beds are comfy.
- Pam (3/5): It was an expensive disappointment. - It had a river view. Weed trees were obstructing some of the view.
The door to the room was hard to open.
The baseboards were dusty.
This room was definitely not worth the what we paid.
- Ceciumac (8/5): - Breakfast was not very good. More meat (bacon) or cold meats options.
- RICHARD (8/5): - I loved the fact that the breakfast used real plates, silverware and coffee mugs.
- Wendell (6/5): - View was beautiful..could use a couple of chairs on the deck since it's extra $ to have the river view.
Breakfast was not so great...even for a hotel Breakfast.
- Robert (9/5): -
- Chris (10/5): - Room was clean, had a table to eat at and the slider opened into the parking lot which was great to move suitcases in & out. At check we were given a coupon for a free ice cream cone at the Ice Cream Trailer set up in the parking lot, very good. The breakfast was very good. The scrambled eggs were fresh and very good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - EV charging, river view
- Mary (10/5): - Beautiful view of the river from my room!!
Rom was clean and bed was super comfy!
Staff was friendly and engaging!! Made me feel very welcomed!! Great stay!
- Mary (7/5): - Location and view from our balcony. Bed was uncomfortable and breakfast had no meat.
- Lawrence (9/5): -
- Rick (8/5): -
- Ken (8/5): - Nice view
- Jane (10/5): - Older style hotel is very clean and comfortable and located directly on the Salmon River. We stayed in a riverfront room, and enjoyed the view and opening the door to listen to the sound of the water. Large room, comfortable bed.
- Dominic (7/5): It was a good one night stop but I think they need to start replacing the mattresses. - Good location to restaurants and town. The beds were very soft!
- M323JDednar (4/5): Stagecoach Inn Salmon, Idaho...Unwelcoming and rude staff - The rooms were in decent condition for an older hotel.
The real issue is the treatment we received from staff. Four of us (all in our 70s) booked 4 rooms for a girls trip. At checkin, the clerks seemed annoyed at our laughter and frustrated when we asked if our rooms could be near each other.
The bigger problem was with our reservation. We had booked 6 rooms through Expedia and canceled 2 well in advance (Expedia confirmed). The hotel still charged a $50 cancellation fee.
Even though we were paying for 4 rooms, the manager, Julie, said the only way to waive the fee was if she paid it herself. When I asked for the owner’s name to discuss this charge, Julie refused to provide it and wouldn’t disclose which other hotels this person owns. That lack of transparency was disappointing.
Other issues: one room’s sliding door was unlocked upon arrival (a safety concern); we were given only 3 of 4 advertised ice cream coupons and treated like we were cheating when we asked for the 4th; 2 of us had repeated problems with key cards (5 reprograms in 3 nights) and were lectured as if it were our fault, though another staff member admitted it was a common issue.
The strangest incident was staff knocking on our doors at 9 a.m. (checkout is 11) and instructing us to leave doors open after departure. We refused, as it felt unsafe.
We left feeling unwelcome, unfairly charged, and blamed for problems not ours. This is the only negative hotel review I have ever written.

- Cheryl (8/5): Comfortable hotel for a reasonable price - Nice hotel along the river. If you are not on the river side ask for an upper room or you will be right on the parking lot. There is a nice sitting are out by the river. A good hot breakfast is included. The hotel is within walking distance to downtown restaurants and the Shady Nook restaurant is very good and right next door.
- Cindy (8/5): - The rooms were
- CAROLYN (4/5): - Due to old and faulty locks on both the balcony and hotel door, we got locked out on the balcony - the on site manager could not open our door because I turned the dead bolt - as is normal in a hotel room. The balcony slider locked automatically as we shut it, with us outside. An outside person had to come to open the door, which took about 45 minutes. other parts of the room showed its age as well, the bathtub being unthinkably soiled. Breakfast was egg mix and some kind of meat- no fruit available at all. There was a smell of smoke in the hall and room, although the whole place is supposed to be smoke free. Lots of noise from people outside and adjoining rooms. And to top it all off, the location itself was hard to pull out of, and you could not walk to town from there without crossing a busy road with a five point intersection and no traffic signals.
- Theresa (8/5): -
- Charles (10/5): - Best bed I have slept on in quite some time. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
- Candy (6/5): - I wish we were told the pool was closed and maybe get a discount because of it
- Reynolds (6/5): -
- Joanne (6/5): - The property is dated. Room smelled like animal. Shower did not work. Mountain View was really over a large parking lot with many trucks. Noisy.
- Ronald (10/5): - Nice being on the river. Rooms were good
- Wayne (8/5): - Good
- Trisha (10/5): - From when I walked in the door to check in until I walked out with the suitcases it was great! People were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good and always full. The rooms are clean and spacious and the view is amazing
- Carlton (8/5): It was decent -
- chris (10/5): - Friendly Staff, comfy beds and great view of the river.
- Jill (6/5): - Upon check in I was standing in the lobby and a young girl caught my eye and walked toward me and never even smiled or greeted me, and then she went begin the counter and still didn't greet me - awkward. I said I was there to check in. She may have been having a bad day, but it wasn't a great start.
The pool was closed and I didn't know that, which was a bummer.
The room was noisy because it was right on the end of the hallway next to the stairwell.
The carpet was FILTHY with tons of spots on it. We stared at it and just contemplating - do we complain, do we leave, do we ask for another room - will the new room be just as bad.
We had a small dog with us and we thought that maybe they placed us in a dirty carpeted room just in case our dog also messes? Who knows, but we didn't want to walk barefoot in there. I spilled water next to my bed and got a white towel to soak it up and the towel was black. That confirmed that those carpets are NOT shampooed.
The balcony had no chairs on it. I did have a river view, which was nice to listen to the water at night.
The location is great because Salmon is so small that you can easily walk to the river and to the park, as well as the downtown strip.
I wouldn't choose this hotel again, I would choose to take my camper instead. This hotel was recommended to me but the people with us even said it has gone down hill from a couple years ago since they last stayed. Sigh.
Almost $500 for 2 nights too.
- jonic759 (10/5): Comfortable Stay in a Great Location - The location made it easy to get around and enjoy the scenery. Our room was spacious, with a balcony overlooking the river. The small ice cream truck in the parking lot was a fun surprise. Overall, a comfortable and pleasant stay.
- John (8/5): - Property was in good condition for being nearly 50 years old. Only complain I had was the breakfast they offered, when you pay $200 for a room I would expect a better breakfast, zero hot protein, all that was there were carbs
- Ronald (10/5): - This hotel s rustic and quaint, and we had a fantastic view of the river (by upgrading). Nice grassy area w/tables & chairs perfect for relaxing. We walked to the downtown, went to the Sacagawea Museum. We'd stay here again!
- Charlotte (10/5): Comfortable stay - The Stagecoach was a nice place. It looks older and some parts are dated but it was a comfortable stay. The room was nice and big. I really enjoyed the availability of the room from the outside. This was convenient for walking our dogs. The only drawback was the pet area had no grass.
- David (6/5): - Pool was closed, bathrooms need renovation.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was clean but that was about it. Shower nozzel didnt work right, ac was very loud, sliding door stuck and when we went to breakfast nothing to brag about. Wont go back
- Olivia (10/5): - Great front-door access to the rooms on the parking lot side. (Better view on the river side of course). Just a quick stay so appreciated the convenience. Only missing a label on the soap in shower (couldn't tell if it was body wash, shampoo or conditioner) Wasn't sure where the pool was or if there was a hot tub, but spacious rooms and nice breakfast.
- Pamela (6/5): - Older property.
- Bethany (10/5): - Loved our time here!
- William (10/5): -
- June (8/5): -
- KATHLEEN (2/5): Other than the the sink, room was just ok. - Bathroom sink was stopped up. Pulled the drain plug out and it was solid black slime. Tried to clean it but it stayed plugged up. It was gross and unhealthy,
- Melissa (10/5): - Great spot on the river, walkable to town and the park. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were great!
- Maritie (9/5): -
- Terry (8/5): -
- Robyn (8/5): -
- Amber (10/5): - Conveniently located, clean, great breakfast.
- Li (5/5): not too happy- cleaning crew try to get me leaving before 9:30 AM!!! -
- Christopher (10/5): - Located right on the Salmon River. It’s our favorite!
- Steven Hallowell (8/5): All but pool was excellent. - Breakfast was excellent! The swimming pool looked disgusting. Was looking forward to a swim.
- Kim (8/5): - nothing
- vladislav (10/5): Beautiful view - Location N/a
- Philip (10/5): Great place to stay - A great place to stay in the area. Good breakfast, friendly people.
- Debbie (8/5): - The front desk staff were very unfriendly, especially the late night woman.
- Barbara (9/5): -
- Dotti (4/5): - Room was filthy, carpets gross , bed was brokendown, drapes had cuts through them like they had been sliced. Only booked here because they took pets. Wont stay again, room was absolutely filthy. The booked price through expedia was quite a bit less than what the facility charged, aside from the 15.00 per night pet fee. Expected the pet fee, didnt expect the additional nightly charge "because they were full"
- Brad (8/5): - Great location next to the Salmon River and downtown Salmon. The property is a little dated, but well maintained. We'll stay there the next time we are in the area
- Greg (8/5): - Bed was too soft for my preference but room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was good and offered plenty of options. Very loud in hallways. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Parking was limited and overflow was extremely tight for turnaround. Lovely little town. All-in-all, very pleasant stay.
- Judy (6/5): - Pool area unsuitable to swim-old tile, looked like it needed good cleaning and/or new surfacing, not heated.
Very loud band playing next to motel till 11:30pm-way too late, unable to sleep. Motel should have imposed time limit on band due to proximity to motel.
- Mike (8/5): Middle Fork Adventure - Nice hotel for the fairly remote location. Clean, front desk was great, breakfast was available. Bed was great and although older, a good stop for a night or two.
