Guest Reviews
- Ralf (10/5): - Außergewöhnliches Chalet in wunderbarer Alleinlage. Wir haben die Tage genossen. Nationalpark um die Ecke.
- Victoria (9/5): - Absolutely beautiful little cabin, with everything you need and a view to die for.
- Oh (10/5): -
- es einfach alles da, was man brauchte 😃
Nichola ist mit mir zum Weingut am Anreisetag gegangen, obwohl es schon zu hatte, damit ich Wein für den Abend da hatte. Am nächsten Tag konnte ich spontan ein tolles Weintasting machen.
- Matt (10/5): Greatest short stay ever. Location to hikes is perfect and great base to return too. Very romantic spot with starry skie - Amazing location, facilities and host.
- Tomasz (9/5): Truly excellent place to unwind. - We’ve stayed there last year and thought it was great. This year everything was even more than just great. Even the wood was prepared in the fireplace to just lit. This is truly an amazing place to relax for a few days . Nothing
- Bradley (10/5): Great views, romantic setting, warm fire. - Fabulous romantic location nestled in the Porongorups, surrounded by wineries, and magnificent views of the Ranges. Dark cold winter nights with a fire (and reverse cycle and heaps of blankets), a selection of books, games.. There is also Starlink internet if you need to stream!
Possibly the best combination of location, ambiance and services ever. Pop next door to the Castle Rock winery and try the wines, then walk back to base with a great Pinot or Reisling. Awesome, thank you Sleeping lady lodge.
- Emi (10/5): -
- Miranda (8/5): Lovely spot to spend the weekend. A bath on the front veranda would make an amazing addition - Great spot with an amazing view. Well kitted out. Great fire. Needs a dishwasher.

- Sandy (10/5): We would highly recommend, perfect break to relax and unwind. - Beautiful location to relax and enjoy the glorious surrounding views. We loved sitting on the verandah and watching the changing clouds over the Stirling ranges. Cottage was perfect, all the essentials provided. Comfortable bed and sofa. Close to amazing hikes and short drive to Albany. No negatives.
- Phil (10/5): Exceptional quiet chalet - Nichola sent us comprehensive information on the chalet and the area before we arrived. It is situated well off the Porongurup Road between fields of vines in Castle Rock vineyard. Stunning views to the Stirling Range (with The Sleeping Lady ridge) from the spacious front verandah. Access was easy, via the back door. We tried to find a gadget, furnishing or anything that was missing, but no - this was the best equipped chalet we've been in, from fizzy wine stopper to adjustable blinds, library and music and video equipment. The bed was very comfortable, and we loved it. Minor inconvenience - had to evict several large moths on the first night, but apparently they do congregate occasionally (not often).
- Patricia (9/5): Unforgettable experience - The stunning natural surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for relaxation. The accommodation is spacious, clean, very confortable and absolutely everything you need for a comfortable stay is available there. Nichola were welcoming and attentive, offering great local recommendations.
Whether for a romantic getaway or a friends retreat, this place is a gem! I can’t wait to return! Nothing.

- Neville (10/5): Superb in all aspects - Nothing not to like
- Megan (10/5): Cute country stay - Beautiful little cabin with effective heating and a fire on a cold winter’s night. They’ve provided a lot of nice finishing touches, I particularly liked the idea of the bookshelf with self addressed envelopes so you could borrow the book and mail it back later. Location is good to get to bluff knoll, into Albany, and mount barker. Views were also “wow” I wish we could have stayed longer.
- Tricia (10/5): Omg! The views! - Omg! The views!! Beautifully located, phenomenal views, meticulously clean, and so many little special touches - fire already burning upon arrival, a bookshelf full of books and a reply paid envelope to return it if you need to take it home with you, milk in the fridge etc, excellent communication from the hosts.
The Sleeping Lady Retreat was perfect in every way. We are already planning to visit again.

Everything needed was provided, even logs for the cheery wood fire. The BBQ on the deck was very convenient and, in warmer weather, it would be pleasant to eat outside. It was perfect.
- Michelle (10/5): A lovely weekend staying at the Sleeping Lady Private Retreat - The host has really thought of everything. Very comfortable little house, we made use of the BBQ and kitchen which was well equipped. Sitting on the verandah overlooking the vineyard of the neighbouring property with the Porongurups in the background….absolutely stunning! We also visited the nearby winery Castlerock (walking distance) for a wine tasting which was nice. Nothing
