- Katharine (8/5): - We had a lovely stay in one of the hotels apartments that was linked but you have to cross a courtyard. We expected it to have a higher standard than it did we did recommend to the hotel that they put a Nespresso Machine in. The price difference between the rooms we felt did not meet value for money as the bedroom was very tight and the lounge quite small. If you don’t like noise in a hotel if there’s a chance that an event might be on then this room would maybe work better for you then. All in all everything was ok and we did have a nice stay.

Friendly staff from the minute we checked in until we left. Super comfortable super king sized bed, fresh clean linens, quiet location in centre of town. Good lunch menu and breakfast. Service at breakfast was a bit disjointed and cooked breakfast was brought out before starters was finished but very accommodating with kiwi fruit allergy.

- Bill (10/5): Sunny February in Cumbria - wheather was amazing February sunny most of the time and about 18 degrees. Went out for food one night which was good and dined in the Trout Hotels Derwent Restaurant the other, this was very good and will definitely do it again. Enjoyed the hotel and will stay again.

- Jemma (6/5): Not great - Room was clean and comfortable. I received a phone call to ask if I wanted a twin or double, the room was incorrectly set up as a double regardless of the phone call this was changed quickly but was an inconvenience. The cocktails and food were ok but not worth the money and the most inconvenient issue was that the tv did not work, I rang reception who sent the waiter to try and resolve the issue but after 15 minutes of fiddling with the wires he advised he couldn’t get it working. The issue was also affecting other rooms.

- Howard (8/5): Good hotel, nice location. - Good hotel in Cockermouth. The staff are friendly and service relaxed, and rooms reasonably comfortable (though a touch on the expensive side for what they are, but that's location I suppose). Ate dinner there and it was pretty decent, though again a touch on the expensive side for what it was. My room was on the front and road noise was a little distracting, but not terribly so. Perhaps the strangest thing - given it's obviously not a chain and is a little quirky - was it didn't have much character feel to it. I've stayed in big chains that felt more 'personal' and 'homely', which was odd. Nice hotel, overall.
