The only thing that could have been better was the shower in our room. It took a while to get hot and wasn’t very powerful but we were right at the very top of the building so this may be why.

Perfect location, overlooking the harbour and sea front. We were given the choice of our room, both with lovely views. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Both nights were comfortable and quiet and we had great nights sleep. Maxine was very helpful, offering recommendations of where to eat. The harbourside area is lovely and was right on our doorstep. Get up at first light and watch the fishing boats sailing out to sea at sunrise. Beautiful! There could be a bit of noise from traffic, but this is a town centre location and is not the fault of the Guesthouse. It really wasn't that bad though.

Breakfast was superb - and with a sea view as we sat right at the very front 😀 We were all chatting over breakfast, lots of laughs and humour! I came home after a night out in weymouth, Maxine was still pottering around, tidying etc Clear pride in what she does! Room was spotless, awesomley decorated and we had a harbour view! Amazing! Whole B&B is full of character - we loved it! Never ever stayed anywhere quite like this or met such an incredible host! We shall return!

- Tao (10/5): A beautifully designed and warmly hosted stay in a superb location with stunning views - First of all, the hotel is beautifully and distinctively decorated, very true to its name, with many ocean-inspired elements throughout. It is clear that the host has great taste and a strong artistic sensibility. The location is also absolutely excellent, right next to River Bay. Thanks to the host’s thoughtful arrangement, I was given a room on a higher floor, with a wide view, warm sunlight, and even a panoramic view of River Bay. The host was extremely warm, welcoming, thoughtful, and attentive. Highly recommended!

- David (9/5): clean & quirky; An experience! - We visited Weymouth for a party in the depths of winter; room was nice and warm. Room size typical for Guest Houses and fine for our two night stay. The décor feels like a labour of love with a multitude of features, each with their own history; it's quite overwhelming however and might not be to everyone's taste. We really liked it and if you can get the Hostess's attention, she will explain the history/meaning/story behind each. She also has a firm grasp of the English language, particularly some of the more colourful words; we were both in stiches and if you've got an hour to waste at the honesty bar, you'll not be bored. The whole of the interior is spotless; can't understand how it's kept that clean, but it is. We had breakfast on one of the days of our stay and it was perfect; nice size, great food, warm plate... Heaven! Bed the most comfy I've been in for a long time; we slept like logs until the alarm went off... Can't ask for more than that can you? Our hostess had actual milk ready for us on arrival and a mini fridge in the room to keep it cold.. How long is it since you had that in a hotel??? The location is fantastic, we'll go again and recommend it to you. Public spaces in Guest House could be nippy in January but no problem to us.

The house is quirky and fun and we loved our room with views of the harbour. Slept really well and breakfast in the morning was excellent. - Lesley (5/5): So disappointed will not be returning - Location was great 15 minute wait before host appeared to greet us. Host insisted room key was given and small fridge was in room - when challenged and keys or fridge weren't provided no apology. Appreciate its a listed building so 10 minute wait for hot water is understandable but shower pressure was non existent and half used shower gel bottle provided by the host. No shampoo/conditioner/complementary biscuits provided which should come as standard. Radiator hot at the top not bottom. Breakfast was awful we were the later sitting tea was cold only offered a standard fried breakfast never asked which choice of eggs would we like, rock hard butter the only warm item on the plate were the baked beans, suggesting food had been precooked and left to sit around. So disappointed after reading previous reviews. For £120 left feeling over priced for little being offered.

Everything was spotlessly clean and the bathrooms are like new. The owner met us upon arrival and was incredibly friendly….. breakfast the next morning was freshly prepared with good quality ingredients and really tasty. - Kevin (10/5): The best guest house you'll ever stay in - Without a shadow of doubt the best guest house we've ever stayed at! Greeted with a lovely, warm welcome from the fabulous owner, Maxine, received a parking permit for the on street parking opposite so no parking charge. Entered our spotlessly clean room and were blown away by the quirky decor, everywhere you look there's something interesting. The room had everything we needed and more, even a box of things people often forget, shower gel, toothpaste etc. Spent the night in what was probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! Woke to a delicious full English breakfast, fresh orange juice and a pot of tea. All in all, pretty damn perfect, could not find fault in anything and can not wait to return ❤️ N/A

I had a lovely beach view from my room, the bed was comfy and the cooked breakfast was delicious. I enjoyed sitting in the sunshine on the deck outback with Tinkerbell the toy poodle sitting on my lap after breakfast. Highly recommended! The room was a little cold in the morning!

What impressed us was the little touches. There was a pair of binoculars which were well used seeing the boats come and go. That was also a small container of mince and a whole box of tissues not just for half a dozen they stuff in the top of the container in many chain hotels.

Egal ob Sonne oder Regen, man konnte sich in die Stühle am Fenter lümmelnund dort lesen oder das Treiben draußen beobachten. Auch beim Frühstück waren wir gut versorgt. - stephen (9/5): Lovely anniversary stay, would recommend - Maxine was very friendly and welcoming, her staff were great and the decorative rooms were amazing. Breakfast felt rushed due to slot system to fit everybody in, but food was 10 out of 10 Room was lacking in plugs for this day and age. Would definitely return especially for room 5, with the view and style of the room, is beyond a 5*
- Klaus (10/5): Sehr schöner Aufenthalt und top Service! - Service und Frühstück war sehr gut! Das ganze Haus und besonders die Gästezimmer sind sehr nett dekoriert. Haus liegt direkt in Strandnähe und der Hafen und das Center sind auch gleich in der Nähe. Nix..!

- Andy (6/5): Fawlty towers. I won’t go back. - Location is great for Weymouth. Great views at front and rear. Most of the property smells of poorly masked cigarette smoke. I got kicked off my breakfast table and into a different room after 15 minutes because I had the audacity to finish my food. The staff even insisted on pouring my coffee into a different mug so they could reset the table using the same mug! Not the relaxing stay I was hoping for.

- D (10/5): Pleasurable stay - Hostess Maxine was very welcoming, open, honest and very friendly. Harbour view from our clean, cosy and comfortable room was amazing. The bed was so comfy too. The Ocean has it's own character with themed but subtle rooms. The bar is an honesty bar. All in all was a fab stay.
- Rosemarie (1/5): Non andate, non sono un detrattore ma orribile esperienza non capisco il voto così alto di Booking - Nulla Avevo la colazione compresa nella prenotazione e la signora pretendeva pagassimo 7 sterline a testa perché non accettava quanto scritto da Booking. Assurdo in più una volta prenotato ha chiesto soldi in più rispetto a quanto riportato su Booking. Scorrettezza a 360 gradi non lo consiglio
- Mario (1/5): Che brutta situazione - La località Abbiamo avuto conferma del prezzo della camera compresa la colazione da Booking, qualche settimana dopo ho ricevuto dall' albergatore una richiesta di aumento tariffa o avrebbe annullato la prenotazione abbiamo accettato perché il viaggio era già programmato. Arrivato il giorno prenotato la responsabile ci ha detto che non c' era parcheggio,cosa da noi richiesta e confermata ma non solo ci è stato richiesto il pagamento della colazione per 14 £ che era compresa nella prenotazione, perché noi siamo clienti Genius????? A questo punto chiedo chi è responsabile di tutto questo? Forse Booking che offre sconti ai clienti tramite Genius che non sono approvati dagli albergatori o siamo capitati da persone poco oneste???? - Stefano (10/5): - A beautiful guest house, uniquely decorated by the owner, who is truly a force of nature. Each room has its own distinct style—ours was "safari-themed". The breakfast was very good, and the location was super convenient!

- Duccio (8/5): Bellissima e impegnativa Weymouth - Alloggio davvero grazioso e ben curato in uno stile particolare, bella camera con vista sul canale. Posizione top nella deliziosa Weymouth Difficoltà di parcheggio: è stato necessario posteggiare nelle vicinanze al costo di circa 10 euro. La stanza era al terzo piano (senza ascensore, come indicato nella descrizione)

- Muriel (1/5): A éviter absolument. - La situation géographique est très bonne mais pas de parking sur place. Accueil inacceptable de la propriètaire frustrée et de mauvaise humeur (nous sommes arrivées après 18h). La chambre ridiculeusement minuscule (vu son prix) avec toilettes et douche à partager sur le palier (le descriptif mentionnait salle de bain privative).

- Stephen (10/5): We had a lovely stay, will go again. - The place was clean and the decor is a little "Quirky" but this adds to the experience in a positive way. Maxine, the host is lovely but mad as a box of frogs. The deb was really comfortable and had a great view of the harbour. The location was ideal for the town centre, Weymouth is a great place for a visit and I would recommend this to anyone. Nothing!

What truly impressed me was how spotlessly clean the entire property is — absolutely pristine. The hotel’s décor is quite unusual and quirky, with each room designed differently. It’s definitely not boring — in fact, it adds a unique charm. While some guests might not appreciate such an eccentric style, I found it to be an intriguing and memorable experience. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel. The fact that there are no children makes it ideal for couples looking for peace and relaxation. Fantastic location, just a short walk from the beach.

- Pam (10/5): Fantastic relaxing short break - Friendly, spotlessly clean. Excellent location Parking was very difficult, but it was summer holiday time and sunny. Once we parked we left it, and kept returning to top up payments. Only there 2 nights so no problem at all. Easy enough to pull up outside and unload, then park.
- Rehannah (10/5): Best B&B and host in Weymouth! - The Ocean Guest House was brilliant. Originally chosen due to the character and it did not disappoint! A quirky space - reception and bar, also a lovely room with everything you need. Great location just across from the beach and arcades with a spot on breakfast. The added bonus had to be Maxine, from the get go she made us laugh, smile and feel so at home. We will definitely be back and already look forward to it! Rehannah and Emma x

- Steve (10/5): A breath of fresh air in a lovely town in a brilliant choice of guest house - It’s a 5* from us - The Host Maxine was a breath of fresh air and a real delight to stay with. She runs a lovely themed homely Hotel/Guest House and we really won’t hesitate to stay again…. We laughed at breakfast (which was first class by the way) with Maxine being so open and looking on the brighter side of life… You have to stay here to appreciate the approachability of the host `absolutely nothing!

Unusual thing to get a bar..., lovely terrace out the back was well decorated too. Whole place was artfully done. I enjoyed the entertainment too! Single room has a minute toilet, a little too tight for anyone larger than 5'7"... However all clean, tidy and pretty, separate shower too.

- Joanne (10/5): - The rooms are so individual and quirky. Maxine was a great host, she was so accommodating and friendly. I booked this for my friend's 40th birthday, she had a great day. The location is fabulous, they had a Seaview room which provided a perfect view for the Monday night fireworks. N/A
