We reported a minor issue with the shower which was to be attended to. Otherwise all good.

Location is within a 5min drive to the center. Great coffee at breakfast, reasonable food variety. Geared towards an older audience, but a peaceful break for a couple or a family too.

- Nicola (9/5): A wonderful, relaxing, enjoyable stay in a clean, comfortable hotel set in beautiful surroundings. - The hotel is set in a beautiful location, with a large parking area, accessible blue badge parking too. We had a wonderful room, with own private balcony. The staff were really friendly and attentive. The room was clean with everything we needed. We didn't get a huge amount of tea/coffee/milk in our room, and had to ask for more. The decor could do with a bit of freshening up. Other than that we couldn't fault the hotel.

Room was a decent size for the family. Breakfast was adequate but a little limited cereal-wise and some additional jams and things would have been nice. Outside area was really stunning with all the seats and areas to walk. The room was a good size but the thick wooden shutters on the windows were annoying and trying to get some fresh air and open the window was tricky. Taller people need to watch their heads in the family room with the twin beds as the roof alcoves are low. Felt a bit dated in parts.

- Yves (8/5): Agréable séjour au calme au coeur de la New Forrest. - L'hôtel, bien situé au coeur de la New Forrest, offre un jardin somptueux et un intérieur au charme quelque peu désuet. Il était très calme, de jour comme de nuit, et les repas étaient excellents (cuisine primée). Le petit déjeuner buffet était très complet et délicieux. Le parking (inclus) est généreux. Le personnel était accueillant et coopératif. Quelques faiblesses au niveau de l'équipement, un peu vieillot. Nous avions deux chambres (pour deux adultes et une enfant de 12 ans). Problème de douche qui arrosait toute la salle de bain de l'une, bruits d'eau divers et persistants dans l'autre. Difficulté également d'utiliser l'électricité; l'hôtel ne disposait pas d'adaptateur UK -> UE adéquat. Je retiens qu'il vaut mieux s'en équiper avant de traverser le channel.

Perfectly - Perfect location, brilliant friendly attentive staff I think a few small details within the rooms would go along way if improved. Conveniently located sockets, not lumping them all in one place and for example having a full length mirror with no socket near by in the “hallway”, a mini fridge, holes from pictures which have been moved or removed not filled properly

Window frames and panes were filthy with black mould, took filthy black wipes to management - rooms too hot and fan didn’t work. Decor needs updating. Management did take meal off bill but such an uncomfortable night would not stay again which is a shame as lovely location.

I asked for the bill as I wanted to pay, but she insisted that I add it to the room and was abrasive and challenging when I tried to say that I wanted to pay straight away. It was awkward and made me feel uncomfortable.

- Elena (4/5): Hotel has such good potential but with the current state of housekeeping and cleanliness it won’t go far - Great location, friendly staff, good food at the restaurant both for breakfast and dinner Cleaning staff does truly terrible job! What we observed in our 4 nights stay: - arrived to see a piece of broken glass just by baby cot - our baby found a dirty dog ball under the table - mold on pillow - small plastic garbage (straw) left by previous guest was not picked up during our stay even though the room was checked and cleaned every day. - window frame - there are so much spider nets feels like hasn’t been cleaned for months! - glass table covered in dust Never seen anything like this, this sadly killed the good impression. Hotel has great potential but the situation with cleaning is awful
- Teddy Todorova (8/5): - Beautiful hotel with lovely grounds especially enjoyable in the sunshine. Great restaurant food, very tasty. Our room was wonderful, with a beautiful four poster bed and view. The staff need a lot of training in customer service. The way some of them talk is way too "street", borderline unprofessional. Despite a wide cocktail list, Aperol spritz recipe had to be looked up online. Breakfast can be more varied. Housekeeping arrived at 4 pm two days in a row. We had a small baby so once we couldn't vacate the room, the other time we did. Very bad timing. The cot we paid for wasn't a cot for an infant but a pullout bed for a toddler/child or adult. Very risky, thankfully our baby wasn't rolling yet. Room facing west was warm both day and night. Breakfast should be included in the price, which already felt a bit too pricey for what you get.

- Susan (7/5): - The Food and service were excellent. The location was superb. All bedroom amenities and provisions excellent, linen and bed very comfortable. My room was so cramped, in order to go to bathroom I banged my head on wall mounted tv so had to bend neck when going round bed. it is something that would really detract from my return.

- Suzanne (3/5): Great location but room noise was really bad - Staff were all friendly Very bad smell at the entrance. Room also had damp and sometimes sewage smell. Walls in bar had clear signs of damp However worst part was noise. The wall in the room were very thin. Water pipes ran down them. Could hear it anytime next door used the loo or shower. Could also hear the people in next room.

- Charlotte (7/5): Great location, ok hotel. - Location was brilliant, hotel was nice, although it didn’t quite live up to the expectations made from the pictures. Staff in the restaurant were great. Staff on reception weren’t very friendly or helpful, unfortunately they were quite blunt. Hotel was very hot. All the radiators were on throughout, including our en-suite which we couldn’t turn off or down. They wanted £12.50 for the use of their electric car charging point, which is very expensive when our hybrid would only need to be plugged in for 2 hours.
