- Alexa (8/5): - My husband & I stayed in the Walt Whitman room for 3 nights, we chose the Sea Gypsy because it was conveniently close to my sister's home so we could easily walk to her. The Sea Gypsy is also close to the beach & restaurants & everything is easy to get to. I appreciated the charm of the building & it was much better than the typical motels all around wildwood. I really appreciated the victorian style of the house & the Walt Whitman room was small but fine for just a couple or a single person, the outdoor deck attached was my favorite part, it was so nice to sit out there & enjoy! The bathroom was separate from the room but it wasn't a problem, it was a large bathroom & private so no issues. The staff was very friendly & accommodating if needed but we didn't need much, we also didn't take part in the breakfast so won't be able to review it. I very much enjoyed our stay here the only issue was the ceiling fan had thick dust on it which I noticed right before turning it on so we just simply gave it a wipe off with a towel & everything else was quite clean. Definitely a bit too pricey for my liking but everywhere in Wildwood is.

- Christina (10/5): Our new spot in wildwood!! - My sons and I were in Wildwood for a tournament and we decided to try The Sea Gypsy. We have now found out forever rental! From the amazing check-in to the easiest check-out, this was beyond amazing. The history alone of this location is breathtaking. The breakfast is to die for!!! Highly recommend!!!

- Kim (10/5): Unique Victorian B and B in a Great Location - The William Warner cottage was lovely for two people. Clean, private parking nearby, fitted out for a week at the shore including a washer and dryer and a small kitchen if you want to prepare your own meals. Check in was easy and the bagged breakfast was delicious. The location is within walking distance of many restaurants (The Rook, right across the street, is excellent for dinner!) and 2.5 blocks from the boardwalk. Despite being so close to the boardwalk, the neighborhood itself is quiet and we had a great night's sleep. Overall, highly recommended! We will be back.
- roberto (10/5): Amazing place to stay - I was in town for NJ Jeep invasion. Henry was very accommodating, with the size of my vehicle, diet restrictions and my early morning morning departure times to set up as a vendor. The main house is absolutely beautiful. The decor and architecture must be a source for Henry and his family. He is very proud of what they have built and you definitely can sense it. I would stay here again hands down. Thank you for a wonderful stay

We were allowed to bring our dog and they were so good with her. I cannot say enough about this place. Also was close to the boardwalk. Would definitely stay there again.

Every nook and cranny was loaded with quaint character. Comfortable beds great hot tub in our room and no pet fee for our pug who was right at home. Would extent for the whole week. Dog beach is two blocks away too!

- Cammie (10/5): - The Sea Gypsy is an absolute oasis from the hustle and bustle of the boardwalk (and yet extremely close to it when that's what you want.) There are not enough stars to rate the charm of the place. We were in the DH Lawrence suite and it came with its own guard-cat, Romeo. ;-) The whole experience there was a vacation unto itself.

We even had a friendly cat come chill with us on our patio whenever we went outside. Very welcoming atmosphere but not overbearing at all. I love how all of the rooms are different too. We are planning another trip and staying in another room.

Highly recommend getting the breakfast, which they made in a "to go" fashion, so you can choose to eat in the dining room, on the porch, or at the beach. Would stay here again!

- James (10/5): Perfect spot in Wildwood - We thoroughly enjoyed the Ezra Pound room. Highly recommend for couples or those with a child, there is a trundle bed and a pocket door for privacy. A small stove and fridge are super practical, two separate small bathrooms (yes, two showers!) and great location just a short walk from Morey’s pier, pubs etc.

- Barry (6/5): - The stay was okay because of the convenience. The dresser is very old it makes hard to even use it. It was so heavy to pull out that we didn’t even bother. My biggest annoyance was the sheer curtains in the master bedroom. The living room had thick curtains to block out the light, a plus for the kids. A headache for us when were on vacation and would like to sleep in a bit longer. Right next door there is construction so plan to wake up at 730 am to drilling, banging etc…We wish we had known prior because this would definitely steered us away from booking here. Overall, the location is 4 blocks from the beach which makes ideal. We will try the other rooms next time if we come again but I would def not be booking the Kipling again!
- John (10/5): The Most Incredible Place - The Sea Gypsy is the pearl of the Wildwood beach vacation experience! The whole family loved the cozy accommodations and comfortable atmosphere. Everything was great- enough space for a family of four, close enough to easily walk to the boardwalk or beach, surprisingly quiet for being so close to all the action and incredibly warm and inviting. I honestly think staying at the Sea Gypsy was the main reason our stay was so great. Starting and ending each day in such a lovely place before to put the finishing touches on each fun-filled day. I would absolutely recommend a stay at the Sea Gypsy to anyone considering a vacation in Wildwood.
- Rebecca (6/5): - I read the reviews and thought this would be a nice place. The property is more like a motel (Ezra Pound room) and it is a long walk from the water’s edge. The closest beach is very dirty and crowded. It’s best to stay here if you want to be a few blocks from the crowded boardwalk and the amusement park. The nicer beach is in Wildwood Crest where you can park on any street named after a city (Newark Ave beach has a convenient cafe). We drove about 3 miles to this beach everyday, or down to Cape May. Our room was very awkwardly set up with no good table to sit for eating as a family, and only one chair for sitting comfortably (had to sit on the one chair or the beds). The room felt very tight for 4 people (3 adults and 1 child), and it was extremely difficult to raise the trundle bed. There was only one tiny closet and the drawers smelled badly. Maybe other rooms are ok, like upstairs in the main house, but I would NOT recommend the Ezra Pound room. It was not clean enough and felt dirty. I wiped everything down and found a lot of cleanable food stains and dust. I would not have felt comfortable using the oven. There is a microwave and no dishwasher. We only used the fridge. If you must stay here pick a different room. The towels, bikes, beach chairs and umbrellas allowed for use by patrons are subpar. I recommend staying in Wildwood Crest or Cape May. The staff is nice, and breakfast was tasty. Tiny shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and soap provided.

- Kathy (10/5): Fun girls weekend - It was a short girls getaway weekend, the room we stayed in was really comfortable and cozy. Big enough for 2, which we were. Our room was not in the main house so it was really quiet. We had a really nice time. Thinking of going down for the holidays and will probably stay here again.

It was rented to a group of loud college age people who pretty much stayed up until 2:30am every night. Made it difficult to get any sleep. This was not the B&Bs fault. Job at keep in mind if you have a family when renting the cottage house.

- Peter (8/5): Great stay but very thin walls between visitors - Great B&B. Loved the room. Great stay. Giving four stars. I would give 5 stars but there was one issue... there is no, absolutely no sound proofing in the Hubbard Suite. I could hear every conversation my upstairs neighbors had and even knew when they were using the toilet. Other than that though, the stay was wonderful. I would recommend to anyone but be aware that if your upstairs neighbors are active or rowdy... you’ll get to know them very well without having to actually meet them. 4 out of 5 stars.

We enjoyed our stay at The Sea Gypsy - there were 2 adults and a toddler staying and our room couldnt have been more perfect! The room was tidy and cleaned to our liking. There was even a guest book in one of the dresser so you could see there have been numerous families/guests stay over the years.

We reserved the HD Lawrence and it wasn’t as Victorian themed as the pictures which we loved!! The beds was comfortable, the room was clean and we checked for bed bugs..NONE.. we brought our own food to save money and the stove and refrigerator made us feel at home! The walk to the boardwalk was very convenient I’m 8 months pregnant & it’s in the perfect location to the Piers, water park and beach! Not to mention for the price during 4th of July weekend was the cherry on top! We’re definitely going to reserve a room again for next year’s vacation! You can hear the people above you walking throughout their room however it didn’t bother us!

- Carol (4/5): A Very Disappointing Stay - Where to begin? First, there is no one to greet you personally (even though you arrived at designated time); the hostess had to be phoned to come - it took about 5 minutes. We never met the B&B owners, so cross hospitality off your list if you expect that. The breakfasts were satisfying, but much of it was "out of a box or frozen products" - certainly not the usual "homemade" fare we have come to expect at a B&B. Our bathroom - a toilet and a shower - the sink was in the room - was sooo small one could hardly turn around. Our room was on the thrid floor and I don't believe the web site mentioned that it was not really suitable for older people because of all the stairs.It should have. Finally, a malfunctioning fire/carbon monoxide detector went off at 1 AM and woke all the guests in the house. There was no way to turn it off and no one answered the only phone # we were given. After 25 minutes the hostess arrived and said she had no idea how to fix the problem and no way to contact the owners! 911 was called and firefighters came (see photo) and dismantled the device. Needless to say, it was all very unnerving and made for a difficult sleep for all of us residents. The B&B is beautifully and tastefully decorated, but hospitality is missing.
- Omega (10/5): Romantic birthday staycation. - We stayed in the Emily Dickinson suite. It was so cute! Nice and clean. It was like having your own little bungalow. Nice and private Even the main house it cute and quirky. Anastasia was very welcoming. The landscaping is pretty. You walk two short blocks down Poplar to the beach and boardwalk. Like 5 minutes and Your In the middle of everything. We didn’t even need to take our car out once we parked. Parking was right outside our door too. I would def stay here again!

- Verified traveler (10/5): - We loved our stay in the Ezra Pound suite! Note the apartment is not in the main building on Magnolia, it is on Poplar in one of their other buildings. Perfect location close to the beach and boardwalk, very clean and nicely decorated. An upgrade from staying in the motels. The apartment had a king size bed, two bathrooms and a small kitchen with a stove and oven (we didn’t use the kitchen though). Parking was convenient right in front of the building. There were bikes available to us as well if we stayed longer we would have used them. Note we did not have the breakfast so I can’t comment on that. Overall a perfect weekend stay, we will definitely come back the next time we are in wildwood.
- ChrisMagee (10/5): - My 15-yr-old and I stayed here for just one night on 8/10. The Sea Gypsy was very reasonable compared to local hotels and was under 4 miles from a party we were attending. We checked in late because we'd missed the ferry from Lewes to Cape May. There was a sign inside the front door instructing us to call to check in. The owner came within a couple of minutes and showed us to our room. He also showed us how to work the magnetic door lock on our room and signed us up for the 2nd breakfast seating the next morning (the earlier seating was full). We were put in the Shel Silverstein room which is up on the top (4th) floor and sleeps 3. The room has a private bathroom. Shower and toilet were in a small room which had been renovated. Toiletries and plenty of towels were supplied. The sink is outside of that room (i.e. in the main bedroom) and has a mirror, shelf, and sconces on each side, plus GFCI outlets. Very nice for washing face, brushing teeth, putting on makeup, and doing my hair. Hair dryer was in the dresser under the flatscreen TV which has cable. Closet has iron and ironing board plus hangers). Plenty of lights in the room, with a door leading to fire escape. Nice little reading nook for a child, if you're staying there with your little one. There was not an elevator to get to the room. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. The B&B has a hot tub on the first floor deck and towels supplied next to it. There's plenty of parking a block away.
- Maria Paz (10/5): Amazing stay - This place was amazing. We booked this place thinking the price was very reasonable for the middle of the summer. The B&B is great, love all the European decor around the house. We stayed in the Alfred Lord Tennyson suite, it was very cozy, and lots of natural light. big private bathroom. You can use all the premises of the house, including the living area, the patio and a small Jacuzzi if you wish. The breakfast was delicious, homemade pastries, french toast. eggs. juices, etc. After you come from the beach, there are complementary pastries and wine for the guests. All in this place was perfect. The host is great, wifi, great parking space, the host was so nice. Also, we were able to check out, go to the beach, come back and shower in a common bathroom. We will definitely come back next year.

The inn is wonderfully decorated with vintage and antiques pieces. The rooms are clean and private. Each morning, a delicious breakfast was served. This is a nice alternative to the expensive hotels in Cape May, where I was spending time with family.

- Verified traveler (8/5): - The B&B is an older house, decorated in an old fashioned way. Our room was at the very top of the house, but even with it being very hot out, was very well air conditioned. Pros: Anastasia greeted us, was very friendly, and asked what time we would like to have breakfast. She pointed out the complimentary bath and beach towels, complimentary beach chairs and their snack cupboard. The room was very clean, as was the bathroom. Nice hot breakfast, tea, coffee and juices. Check in and check out was fast. Short walk to both the beach and boardwalk, and there are several restaurants close by. Cons: Old house, so the stairs were very creaky and the doors close very noisily. So if people come back to their room late at night, chances are you’ll hear them. Also, because it’s such an older house, the rooms are very small. We could barely change in the bathroom, and had to open the shower curtain for more room. The bathroom sink was in the bedroom and so tiny, it was almost impossible to wash our faces at night without getting water all over the floor. We were only there two nights, so it’s fine for a quick visit. The larger rooms might be better equipped for longer stays.
