Noi abbiamo scelto l’alloggio tradizionale, questo ci ha permesso di fare un salto nel tempo e dimenticare la quotidianità fuori dalla camera. Gli onsen son eccezionali, i pasti deliziosi, ma quello che più ci ha colpito era il personale, sono semplicemente meravigliosi, ci hanno organizzato una meravigliosa sorpresa per il nostro anniversario di nozze ho ancora le lacrime al sol pensiero, gli sono veramente riconoscente.

Astrid (9/5): Great place to indulge on a special occasion! - The rooms were laid out in a little mountain village and felt cozy and private. We stayed in the Youkan and a lot of attention was given to little yesteryear details. Loved the fluffy down duvets. The big rotemburo on the top was gorgeous in the morning with the sun shining through the trees and the birds singing. We sat at the counter at Bar Barolo for a nightcap and I liked how all the bottles were hidden in cupboards below the window rather than being in full display. Though the little bathrooms in a row were all looking out the nature, the couple I was in felt rather dark and lacking atmosphere. Having said that they were all well stocked with all the amenities necessary. Though the dining rooms were partitioned off for the various parties, one could hear the loud voices of a party sitting 2 spaces down and it was a bit distracting.

When you arrive they are waiting in the parking lot and take you for a welcome tea and sweet while you check in. Our in room onsen was so beautiful. Their listing undersold the experience. It was amazing. The dinner and breakfast amongst the best we have had! I didn't love the open air reserved bath. It didn't seem as convenient.

The large open air bath and the private bath attached to our room were both outstanding. The kaiseki dinner was not only delicious but also visually stunning. Yueh Yu (10/5): - 這座佔地4500坪的旅館，僅有13間客房，全是由各地移築而來的古宅改建，最年長的建築甚至有250年歷史。我們六人入住最大的房型，獨享室內外兩個風呂。最迷人的是館內多樣的溫泉：竹林風呂、獨立屋風呂，只要無人即可推門而入。這裡沒有與不認識的人一起泡湯的地方，環境非常的優美與舒適，每個風呂都有各自的風格的魅力，每一個風呂都是獨享的，可以跟另一半一起聊著天，也可以自己獨自的享受。當晚的懷石料理是我吃過溫泉旅館中水準非常高的；與隔日的傳統日式早餐，餐點非常的美味，整體都是是一個會想再次到訪的旅館。無

HWANG (10/5): - 유노츠보 거리에서 조금 떨어져 있어서 그 점이 조금 아쉬웠지만, 그런 만큼 대욕장이 자연 속에 있어서 좋았습니다. 대욕장/개인탕/가이세키 이 세 가지 포인트를 중점적으로 보고 골랐어요. 가이세키는 초딩입맛에는 좀 어렵고 난해했지만, 가족들이 좋아해주어서 만족합니다. 대욕장도 겨울이라 조금 황량한 것만 빼면 너무 좋았고, 신사이자보우 실내탕 너무 만족스러웠어요. 직원분들도 다들 하나같이 친절하셔서 편하게 쉬다가 왔습니다. 2월초, 비교적 날이 따뜻한 편이었으나 겨울이라 그런지 아침과 밤에는 조금 추워요. 12월 1월에는 조금 힘들지도 모르겠습니다. 그리고 체크인 할 때 분명 체크아웃 시 치키서비스 이용한다고 말씀드렸는데 잊으셨나보더라고요. 어차피 송영서비스로 역앞에 데려다주니 직접 맡겨도 되었지만 조금 아쉬웠습니다.

Michael (8/5): Luxury experience with exquisite attention to detail. - You pay a premium at this place and for good reason. The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming, even with limited english I didn't feel like any of the policies were unclear and there was english information in the binder in the room. The property itself is immaculately well kempt. We reserved the western-style house with japanese-style bedroom which was a nice mix between west and east, though one could feel like the living room is a little gaudy it was quite comfortable. They included amenity kits customized to each guest to take home with us and a little welcome snack! Onsen-wise there's a large open-air hot spring that requires reservations since it is mixed-gender, a series of 5 private smaller onsen you can use at any time (with free drinks inside), and 2 mid-sized ones (the bamboo grove one was closed for cleaning during our stay). There's also a lounge above the lobby with free coffee snacks and tea. The onsen experience was wonderful and there's even free onsen eggs! Our plan included both dinner and breakfast, for which the food was caringly prepared and set for us in a fine dining experience that really immersed us in what it's like to eat a kaiseki meal. Beds were comfortable and the provided yukata (plus extra layers in winter) were very comfortable as well. There is a bar on the property for extra charge but we did not go while there. Overall it is a luxury stay that was very relaxing. Would definitely recommend and stay again. The reservation system for the largest mixed-gender hot spring can be a bit tight. Upon arrival you can select one 30-min time slot, either that day or the next morning, but must wait until 5:30p to reserve a second time. If you intend to do so, make sure you call the desk or stop by in person right on the dot because those slots fill up fast. We found ourselves with a 4:50a second time slot because we were 10 min late calling and every other time had been filled up, either because there were a lot of groups or everyone else was really on top of it. Even so, we enjoyed the onsen so much we did indeed go at 4:50a and were so glad we did as the hot spring is particularly relaxing on a cold night/morning.

Joseph (10/5): Beautiful ryokan with 5 star service, food and amentiies - The pictures don’t do it justice. My wife picked out the place and I thought it was pricey compared to other ryokans. However, upon arriving, experiencing the staff’s hospitality, and taking in the resort and its amenities, I was sold. The room that I booked did not have a private onsen, but that really didn’t matter as there were many public onsens available, which you can either book for 30 minutes (large hot spring), or without time limit by locking the door once you go inside. The breakfast and dinner were delicious and beautifully presented in the dining building as if I was at a Michelin rated restaurant. The dining staff were also very attentive and kind as well. None

Lisa (10/5): Un lieu magique hors du temps - Le lieu est à la hauteur de sa réputation. L'ambiance de ce ryokan reculé dans la ville de Yufuin et perdu dans la forêt est magique! Le lieu correspond aux photos, et il est évidemment encore mieux à visiter. Le personnel est poli et accueillant. Ils ont même fait une attention pour notre anniversaire de couple avec mon conjoint, raison de notre venue. Nous avons extrêmement bien dormi dans la maison traditionnelle japonaise 'kan'. Les bains sont tous aussi beaux les uns que les autres et nous n'avons pas eu à attendre ceux que l'on voulait essayer. Le repas était divin, aussi bien le dîner que le petit-déjeuner. Nous avons aussi pu faire appel à un service de massage pour se relaxer. Nous aurions préféré payé la prestation du massage à la fin du séjour, en même temps que les boissons, plutôt qu'à la fin du massage car nous étions un peu fatigués par le massage, ce n'est pas très agréable de "revenir sur terre" juste après la prestation.

Chun (10/5): A luxurious and private hide-out for relaxing vacation in Yufuin. - The hotel is in excellent shape. We stayed at an amazing Japanese style suit completed with private bath and filled with all kinds of amenities and complimentary drinks and snacks. The other baths available to the guests are also nicely kept. The highlight is of course the private bath (reservations needed) in the middle of the forest that feels like dreamy fairy tales come true. It's breath-taking both at night and in the morning! The carefully curated Japanese traditional meals are also very enjoyable. The staff are very helpful and polite. Very accommodating and will help you as best as they can. We enjoyed our stay until the very last moment. Nothing in particular. The hotel is close to the nature so you might encounter some wild animals. Could be a concern for some people, but not for me.

Rachel (10/5): Beautiful getaway and surrounded by nature - The staff were hospitable. We had 2 kids and they were noisy and messy especially during dinner time but the hotel was very accommodating. They gave us a private room for dining. They even provided a bassinet and baby high chair for our younger one which was much appreciated. The older one had a solid dinner and breakfast served - as fancy as ours. I was thoroughly impressed. The room we stayed in was exceptional as well. There were many onsens to choose from. My kids also enjoyed the free eggs boiled in onsen water.

Once u entered, u just need to flipped a sign or locked door to say it is occuiped. Dinner service on 2nd night was fast. We have yet to finished our sashimi, next grilled lobster and fried tempura course were served. In no time they were cold. It was suppose to be a relaxing meal, but it was rushed. It would hv otherwise been a perfect 10 experience.

Sally (10/5): Tranquil, romantic and humbling! - Nihon-no-Ashitaba is the most incredible place! Set in the hills of Yufuin it radiates tranquility and traditional beauty. Gardens are spectacular, filled with Japanese maples and moss carpets surrounding multiple private natural onsens. The meals were outstanding (better than 5star restaurants in Tokyo) with an amazing variety from fugu to their own shabu-shabu featuring locally sourced ingredients. The staff here go way beyond what we expected, always being so helpful by suggesting experiences in the district, driving us around and assisting us with our very limited Japanese! Rooms and amenities were exceptional!! This place was PERFECT!
