- Venumadhava (6/5): - It's just average. Wifi won't work. Hot water takes time. Water in the shower won't drain properly it takes time. The bathroom doors are short you need to be careful. Street dogs outside will bark all night and sleep will be disturbed.

What took it to the next level however was the incredible service I received - I’d like to specifically thank Mahendrasingh at the front desk. I was feeling unwell during my stay and he went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and looked after. The customer service I received was incredible!

There were several power points that were not working. Wash basin tap was dripping. The windows could not be opened as the rear side was a garbage dump infested with mosquitoes. Cable TV did not work. The breakfast menu did not have much variety in terms of fruit or continental options.

Food was just amazing. I felt the hotel room was overpriced. My stay was for 3 nights and one thing I really hated was that 9 out of 10 times the house keeping staff wouldn’t answer call then I had to call reception to convey the message. Another big issue that they have is PARKING and I don’t think they can take care of that as they don’t have space for it. There’s no parking available inside the premises, you have to park your car at roadside wherever you find a space to park.

- Sonali (10/5): I can't wait to visit again! - I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Brahma Niwas in Udaipur, and I must say that I was thoroughly impressed with my experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcomed and at home. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and I was shown to my room promptly. The room itself was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. I was impressed with the attention to detail that the hotel had put into the decor and furnishings. The bed was comfortable and cozy, and I had a great night's sleep every night of my stay. One of the standout features of Hotel Brahma Niwas was the rooftop terrace. The views of the city and the surrounding views were breathtaking, and it was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a cup of tea or a meal. The restaurant on the terrace served delicious food, and the staff were attentive and friendly. The hotel's location was also ideal - it was within walking distance of many of Udaipur's main attractions, including the City Palace and the Jagdish Temple. The staff were also happy to arrange transportation for me when I needed it. Overall, I would highly recommend Hotel Brahma Niwas to anyone visiting Udaipur. I can't wait to visit again!

The room was spacious as it was a family suite but poorly designed. Breakfast was just passable. Not a great experience. Except room space almost everything.

- Atul (1/5): Worst hotel stay ever. 2-star hotel sold as 4-star hotel. - Dinner at the Hotel restaurant was good. Worst hotel stay ever. Beware, we got scammed after paying very high 4-star hotel rates in late December, but got worse than 2-star room. This was originally a 2-star hotel, currently sold as 4-star because it got partly renovated. Our room is in the building which is not renovated at all. The heritage floors were at least 70-80 years old, extremely dirty. Towels were worse than 2-star hotel. The hotel staff is good, but untrained and severely under-staffed. The staff told us that the owner doesn't want to spend money on fixing the dirty floors. We heard most guests complaining at the front desk for one reason or the other.

We should've listened and left right then. Everything else was bad here. The WiFi would not connect for more than 2 minutes at a time. The room was dirty and there was hair on both of our rooms. When we asked for new sheets they said they didn't have any. My bathroom didn't have toilet paper or a floor towel until I asked. The staff wasn't helpful in making sure things were taken care of. No concierge so the front desk staff would just point to a cab guy when we asked any questions. No help at all. The room keys needed to be renewed each day...waste of time. I don't know who's running this place but it is in no way a 4 star hotel. Be very aware you are not going to get your monies worth.

- Stuart (5/5): Nice view from endless pool, but not good value - When booking, we were sold on the endless pool overlooking the lake. The pool is indeed nice (although chilly) with dramatic view of the lake (although a bit of a scruffy backwater part of Lake Pichola). We were in the "heritage wing," which was about 40 years old, so not a long heritage. Oddly our room was decorated with a headboard with Parisian images, and Alpine prints - very peculiar for Udaipur. The bathroom was particularly odd - a big raised platform with a toilet and a shower (although nice shower spray), but the sink outside the door. When the bathroom developed a sewer smell, the manager, to his credit, acted very quickly to move us to a different room (which actually had nicer Indian decor, although same peculiar bathroom). When we peeked in other rooms, clearly they were much nicer - inlaid wood furniture, etc. They are in the midst of renovation, so we may have just received the less nice rooms, but for $260 a night (with breakfast and dinner included in price for family of three), we expected much better. The location and hotel did not merit the price. Meals: The hotel is entirely vegetarian (lots of cheese and other dairy, but not things like eggs). The dinner locale on the rooftop with live music was nice. I expect the meals would have been very good, but for those of us who cannot handle extreme spice, we resorted to the starter soup and heavy pasta dishes. For breakfast, due to the the very spicy foods, we were only able to eat the fruit and toast.
- David (6/5): Could have been better. - Overall, property was a bit shabby. Room was large and comfortable. Rooftop infinity pool was amazing. Service acceptable with coaxing. A bit expensive for what you were getting.

- Debasis (5/5): Brahma Niwas is well located. - Brahma Niwas is well located, very close to the Old City. The staff are indeed very helpful. One night, we had an issue with the hot water line of our toilet. The staff did everything to get it sorted quickly. The receptionists are attentive. The toilet layout could have been better. They should transparently call out that the restaurants only have vegetarian fare.

- Amar (5/5): Disappointing, not luxury and likely to choose somewhere else next time. - somewhat clean and accessible to the old town. Reception staff were professional and nice. Restaurant on rooftop was nice. There are many many things that can be done better. 1. the hotel is much nicer in the listing than in person, not by a difference but it resembles 3-star in real life. 2. wifi in room is awful 3. house keeping seems to be done in parts during entire day, which isn't good if you're trying to sleep during the day. 4. as above, the towels in the room kept being taken and not replaced. Which meant we had to beg multiple times for towels. 5. no safe in room 6. no hand towel, had to ask many times 7. water from sink and toilet will be heard going through the pipes for some time. 8. poor room insulation, internally you can hear every noise and externally also. 9. everytime we left the hotel our door pass stopped working so we had to go back to reception to fix each time.
- Praveen (2/5): family holidays wasted. - nothing much to like about the property. it’s not where I wud like to spend my holidays u can’t drink near pool or rooftop open area. u need to pay them if u want to carry yr bottle. one cutlet costs u 375 rs. u can think of anything else easily. no where it was mentioned in my booking confirmation that drinks allowed only in room. pictures posted on booking.com and their website are misleading. it may look like pool is right next to the lake(almost dried up Wth standstill water and full of garbage,stinks) which is not the case. pool is on 4th floor. rooms don’t have balconies. windows can’t open. it’s sealed. road is very traffic aged and full of dust. u cant stand outside near hotel gate. all the time irritations 3 wheeler tempo noise keeps eating your ears if u are at the property. not recommended for family holidays. over priced and poor location
