Guest Reviews
- Kelly (9/5): -
- michael (7/5): - Very quiet place, kind staff Room not so clean, a lot of mosquitoes because of plants, staff is not so good with speaking English, pretty expensive for the location and a fan room

- Carol (7/5): -
- Aline (10/5): - I stayed at the hotel for a month and changed rooms a few times: I enjoyed them all :) The staff took excellent care of me and I felt right at home :) I wish I could have stayed longer, but I'll definitely be back.
- Edmond (4/5): Not a resort, houses on a cliff without private beach but close to Tubod! - Its on a cliff so I liked the view while drinking my morning coffee. The most unfriendly staff I ever experienced in my travels, they litterally hate guests :))
- Edward (7/5): Inexpensive in great location
Resort-ish. - Good value in a good location. Nice to have stairs down to the ocean. Brewed coffee was nice but a bit pricey. Free filtered water was complimentary which was nice. Air conditioning worked well and it was nice having a small refrigerator in the room. Fixtures and furnishings were tired and dingy. Pillows were flat. There was road noise and the sound between our room and the neighbor's was easy to hear.
Only two uncomfortable loungers made of hard plastic..
- Sarah (6/5): - nice location not very clean (bathroom), only cold water shower, room looks old and was a bit smelly. restaurant was never open
- Travel (10/5): -
- Marina (8/5): Peaceful divers’ nest 🌴 - It was where my diving school was. Very comfortable and very peaceful place. Staff was extremely kind and helpful. None
- Marina (10/5): Peaceful Divers’nest 🌴 - Peaceful and comfortable. You’ll feel fully immersed in nature with the sound of the sea. Basic clean huts. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I will come back! Shower pipes to be renovated. Water pressure very low and shower tap was clogged in most of the huts.
- Tighe (4/5): -
- Oriol (7/5): -
- samantha (9/5): Lovely quiet and green place! - The beautiful seeside view, and de lay-out of the lovely green garden. It was great to enter the quietness of this small and spacious resort.
Also the fantastic and super helpfull service of the staff. And offcours the great sunsets!
- Stephan (9/5): -
- Vincenzo Rigogliuso (8/5): -
Puntos a favor :
- Christoph (5/5): -
- Paula (10/5): They will take care of you like you were home - The staff was amazing. When I arrived it was 11am and although check in was not till 2pm, they walk me to my room inmediately as it was ready. They prepare some fresh water and coke in the fridge. The bungalow offered has sea views and it was perfect cause you can enjoy lovely sunsets in the place. If you like free diving they have just a center inside the resort. The mattress and pillows, they killed my back, and got up with a sense that I have not rested well, which makes me pile up tiredness. Other than that, it was perfect!
- Birgit (8/5): -
- SusaK (9/5): Nice villas with a beautifull view - Nice breakfast, and villas. Beautiful view, but this beach is rocky and not easy to reach. Water pressure was not good enough for shoers, so you must use a scoop and a bucket for washing. The paths to villas are quite dark.
- Richard (7/5): -
- steve (4/5): Décevant, on se sent isolé. - Joli jardin très nature.
Grande terrasse.
- Pogado (6/5): It was okay but I would book another if I come back. - Beach front. Bathroom was dirty, there was only one blanket.
- Ryan (9/5): Superb -
- Garst (9/5): Superb - The location is brilliant, close to the sea with lots of privacy, peaceful and relaxing. The staff were friendly and helpful when we arrived during our stay. We are sure we are coming back.
- Mélanie (9/5): Superb - Nice garden, great view to take breakfast in the morning! Quiet place and nice staff The room is a little bit old, the power ran off the two mornings we where there, no WiFi in the room
- Chris (9/5): Superb - Loved the greenery around the cottages as it kept the rooms cool Poor internet connection. Could only get internet at the office which far away from the rooms.
- Jangao (10/5): Perfection - The peace and silence its brings! Nothing
- Rick (7/5): Good -
- Olivia (7/5): Simple rooms, nice outdoors spots - Rooms were simple, bathroom was old and shower smelt, I shared the place with some ants, but I still slept very well. Location was great, staff was super helpful and helped me rent a scooter. The best part was the garden with many spots, separated from each other so that everyone could have some private space outside. Access to the sea was nice too.
- Heidi (8/5): Basic accommodation with basic amenities, you get what you pay for - Very nice and helpful staff. Nice garden (but also then insects). Spacious rooms and quiet in the evening. Location quite good but you will need a scooter to move around. The bathroom was a bit run down and the water smelled funny. Electricity went off quite few times, which meant that the fan didn’t work and it got really hot. The towels and sheet are quite old and there were some stains.
- Johan (2/5): I would not recommend this hotel for sleeping - The location is good. Although there is no beach, just cliffs as the name suggests I'm not sure if all other reviewers were paid, but I had a horrible night there. The room was tiny. The bed was super small, like a cheap wooden kids bed, there was a huge fan sitting on a chair right in front of the bed and it was incredibly loud, so would probably give you tinnitus. There were also see-through curtains with zero privacy (which they agreed to change). The towel was tiny and did not get you dry. Just pushed the wet around. The pillows were not comfortable and was not actually pillows for sleeping. Looked like old sofa pillows with a linen pillow case around. No drinking water, only water for sale.
However, what kept me awake was the nuts falling down on the metal roof every 10s. It made it impossible to sleep even a minute. I moved elsewhere after the first night, even though I had prepaid for 3 nights and was initially told I would not get a refund. I got a partial refund in the end, as they managed to rent the room to another poor traveller.
- Annette (7/5): Very accommodating staff w/short walk to many restaurants. - Views and access to reef. We are excellent snorkelers and swam to both Maite and Tubod sanctuaries from this hotel. We did need reef socks to cross to a swimmable depth where we put on our fins. Nice breakfast tables. Staff was so sweet. The rooms need updating and sound proofing from busy San Juan road. The wi-fi needs a booster as it only works in common areas.
- Jeff (10/5): Exceptional - The property is beautiful and quiet. It was private but still close to everything. The staff is second to none. You could not find a my loving and caring staff. I can't think of anything other than I didn't like I had to leave.
- Vivienne (9/5): It was very good value for money, well located close to some of the islands in attractions. - The view, the coziness and tranquility. We really liked the friendliness of the staff. Not much… the only thing I didn’t like was the fact that the bin wasn’t emptied during the entire duration of our stay.
- Iris (7/5): Amazing staff - The staff was amazing. They do anything they can and are caring and cleaning all day and feel responsible for the guests. The garden is very beautiful and I enjoyed sitting by the trees and listening to the birds while watching the waves roaring in and out. The whole resort must have been very nice years ago but now it needs to be completely overhauled. I stayed in the budget bungalow and was disappointed that the promises from last year of making the cabins more beautiful haven’t been kept. I think it was under the value of the money I paid. There was a new toilet and a new sink. I was happy about that. Anything else needs to be completely refurbished. The woodwork of the ceiling is so old that the floor was full of wood dust and needed to be cleaned several times a day. There is only a bench where to put the stuff. As the climate is very humid it is important to hang some clothes. The staff gave me hangers so I could hang my dresses on the curtain rail. The fittings in the bathroom are completely rot. Only cold water that is dripping. The bathroom is so small that it is difficult to close the door when you are in.
The white plastic sun beds in the garden are grey and partly broken. There needs to be a possibility like a laundry horse to dry the bathing and snorkeling things on the bungalow. I hang them on the line in the garden but due to the rain they did never dry.
- Jane (9/5): Great location, surrounds & value for money - Great place with beautiful gardens and cosy spots to chill & watch the sunset. Centrally located but just on the edge of the “busy” area.
Easy access to the beach with convenient steps down to the beach, careful to not step on the little starfish if u walk out on the reef 🥰
Thanks to Celeste and the team for a wonderful stay!
- Rob (5/5): Passable -
- Hamad (10/5): Exceptional - Yes
- Tristan (6/5): 3 nights stay, 2nights blackout, no AC rooms - Great location and ambiance. in the app, it was not highlighted that the rooms have fans only.
- Mélanie (7/5): Spacious and convenient - The staff is adorable. They helped me rent a scooter. The room is very spacious as is the bed although not so comfortable.
Outdoor area convenient from smoking. The hotel is literally facing the sea, so relaxing at night to listen to the waves. 15-20 minutes ti Tubod marine sanctuary and Paliton beach a little farther off. Nice restaurants walking distance. The bathroom is ok, no shower hose but there is a tap if you don't want the water to fall from above your head.
The main problem is that there are two large windows and no thick curtains to prevent the light in the morning and that can also be a problem at night with the light switched on in the room as people can see you from the outside but the window panes were blurred. The hotel provides breakfast only (extra)
- Alana (6/5): great views, not the best room, very hot, friendly staff - The views The ants in the room, the fact there was no air con, the location
- Virgil (7/5): Good - Peaceful and quiet Uncontrolled growth of plants. Just too much plants.
- Beverly (7/5): Ok - Location is good near to everything and the beach good for high tide snorkelling and low tide for fossicking Toilet is too low, it needs a good tlc.
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Edgar (10/5): Exceptional - Staff, rooms, location and views I like all
- Rona (10/5): Exceptional -
- Srinivasa (7/5): Good - cliff no aircon
- Franca (7/5): Beautiful outdoor area with very friendly staff but the rooms need a little upgrade. - Royal Cliff Resorts is beautiful place with sun loungers, own access to the ocean and a sunset view. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful with arranging trips etc. The people working there do everything to make your stay perfect. The rooms are "old", they could do with a little renovation and the electric fan is very loud.
- Kariana (10/5): Beautiful hidden retreat with fantastic staff - Staff were super friendly, such a great set up with little places to hang out with a beautiful view, beds comfortable and fresh clean sheets, great location as can walk to nice restaurants. It is a hot place but they had big fans in room. It’s just super hot atm. Would highly recommend. If A/C and option choose it. Loved it all thank you so so much.
- Stephen (7/5): Good - Great place, views, access to ocean No aircon
- Wilfred (9/5): Incredible value for money! - - overall vibe and location
- reliable and super friendly staff
- Nygari (10/5): Beautiful location to relax and enjoy. - Fantastic location overlooking the sea, beautiful garden, very rustic and charming.
The staff were lovely, very helpful, friendly and efficient.
Many great locations and restaurants near by and we will be returning.
- Elisa (10/5): Exceptional - The staff is very friendly and the location is just fantastic! I loved the outdoor space so much!
- Alessiah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matthias (9/5): Superb -
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Georgia (10/5): Exceptional - Staff were so lovely, the resort itself was lovely and the location was good, not too far to walk to restaurants and the beach
- IndySig (6/5): Snorkel off the beach - I normally do a pretty good job of scouting out the reviews and picking a place to stay; however, I feel like I didn’t do very well this time. I was looking for something close to the Marine park and this place met those requirements.
Cute cabin, quick to respond through Booking, great beach access and good snorkeling, close to many restaurants along the road. A couple chairs to sit on and a nice bench was part of the interior. The sunsets are beautiful but make sure you bring bug lotion. Nice signs to warn you that the coconuts might fall on your head.
Thankfully the room had a fan to move the air at night. Small bottles of water and soft drinks in frudge to purchase. There is a nice grocery store just past the yummy Napoli Caffee where you can get drinks and snacks.
The owner is very nice and the staff is very pleasant.
While the unit was OK, the mattress was just a 3” well used foam pad on a wooden bed platform (two twin foam pads). So, no great sleeps over the 5 nights. No hot water (but it is tolerably cool), toilet seat was not secured to the toilet (but it was chained), no shampoos and just one little bar of soap for the sink and shower. No hair dryer for those of you that need one daily.
Bath towels should have been replaced about a year ago and no hand towels (unless requested multiple times) or wash cloths. The pillows are some type of lumpy foam chunks - but at least it wasn’t flat as a pancake (throw pillows look like they have never been cleaned). When we needed to they were never around, so ask before about 5pm if you need something.
Yes, they sweep the leaves but maintenance is lacking. Walkways are overcrowded by plants and they are very slick when it rains - be cautious. Internet is abysmal (best at the “Park your broom” sign). No fresh water shower to knock off the sand after you snorkel.
We were there 5 nights (booked for 6 but the weather caused a delay) and our room was never serviced. We had a clothesline with us so we were able to hang the towels every day to dry. Would have been nice to at least had the unit swept once and a towel refresh and the rubbish bin on the front porch emptied (this would reduce their ant issue).
We had coffee a couple times in the morning but went next door to República to eat-breakfast and dinner (fantastic food) - and they have free 5g wifi. We only saw a couple of people eating breakfast here and never saw anyone having dinner.
If your budget is tight, then this place would be fine. This is about a 2 star hotel - not a resort.
Note: we did speak with the owner as we were leaving to share our concerns. She claimed we should have had fresh towels each day and refresh is by request. Supposedly they also keep a stack of fresh towels at the kitchen area. We never saw them but they could have been there. We suggested they provide an info sheet in each room regarding their services that they provide- not an impossible task since they only have 6 rooms.

- Elif (8/5): Great place to relax with beautiful nature. - A great place to relax in beautiful nature and disconnect. The resort is constructed on top of a cliff with access to the beach, and great views and sunsets. The staff and the owner are such kind and welcoming ladies! They really went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable. We thank them a lot. The wifi could be improved. But maybe it’s also best to disconnect to enjoy nature.
- Hendrik (8/5): Very good - Nice garden, spacious room.
Friendly staff.
If you have only the expectation to sleep here (not noisy / crowdy) and further explore the island is this a great spacious location and under rated sun set spot. A litte bar road side. I would suggest to create a little cozy bar cliff side.
And some thicker curtains in the cottages.
The matresses are quite thin.
And perhaps for the fancy pancy people warm showers...
- Danydgmdc (10/5): Exceptional - 100% satisfied, I recommend this place. Nice service, great resort and beautiful views. no fridge in the room
- Adrian (3/5): Poor -
- Brendan (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely gorgeous cliffside views over the sea with stunning sunsets. Very friendly and attentive staff who can provide or book whatever you need. The cottages are quiet and clean, with well maintained facilities. The resort is located just south of San Juan, about a 15 minute walk into town or a few minutes if by trike. The kitchen only serves breakfast, but republika is a one minute walk next door with plenty of eating options. There's at least three dive shops and many nice restaurants in close walking distance.
- John (1/5): Don't stay here - That booking.com was able to get me a partial refund for canceling after one miserable night. No wifi in room and only 1 bar in the public area. The room was so small the twin beds were right next to each other. No hot water, poor selection of restaurants, originally charged 40 pesos for 300ml of water by front desk, in the stores it's 15 pesos for 500ml, then after complaining they said sorry it's 25 pesos. The photos they show are deceptive unfortunately the photos I took I can't access with Booking. com. The worst place I've stayed at in the Philippines and one of the worst I've ever stayed in the 50 counties I've visited. The staff was very polite and all smiles saying they couldn't help.
- Merlyn (9/5): Superb - The places is very nice specially near in the sea. The cliff is good looking if you want to relax and have a peacefull places to stay. Maybe they need to wider more the connection of the wifi since the air too much strong their thats the reason sometimes connection were loose. But so far its a good places..
- Harold (4/5): Disappointing -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (10/5): Tranquility, beauty, and kindness are just a few of the many qualities of this quiet getaway. - Beautiful; clean; and peaceful—filled with seaside harmony. Could use simple “WiFi boosters” for certain bungalows; however, was great WiFi near main office. (Boosters—a simple fix)
- Ken (10/5): Excellent staff and absolutely beautiful property - The landscape was absolutely beautiful very well kept resort and the sunsets are beautiful. The Rooms are huge like a studio apartment and what can I say about the staff that hasn’t already been said. The owner of this property definitely knows a good staff they are absolutely the best I’ve ever seen at any resort. They were so friendly and attentive to you I would give them a 20 if I could. It’s only a walk to good restaurants and stores I can say I’ve had more peace and this place then anywhere in the Philippines we’ll definitely definitely be back to see the staff !!!! Thanks staff you made our 4 days a blast Not a single complaint
- Diana (10/5): Exceptional - The place is very unique, the scenery is very nice, overall the place is great to stay, thank you Ms. Celeste,Jessa and Juvy for attending all my needs during my stay.

- Sanders (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephen (8/5): Just OK - The Gardens were great. The staff were outstanding. Room size was ok. No aircon.
No hot water.
Fixtures very rough.
Nowhere to hang clothes. No Clothes hangers
Water pressure poor.
- Lulu (1/5): Bad -
- Milla (9/5): Amazing place to stay in Siquijor - It is a magical place, we felt like home there. The garden is amazing and we had the best sunset view.
The room was simple, big and clean. Breakfast was nice. Also the location is great.
But the best part are the staff, they went beyond our expectations, always happy and did everything that they could for our stay, specially Jess and Celeste.
We would definitely recommend the hotel and come back. The only thing that needs some repair is the water pressure in the shower.
- Becky (8/5): Very good - Beautiful sea view and friendly staff
- Ben (10/5): the BEST staff and location - loved snorkeling right from your room - incredible reef just offshore with lots of turtles. rooms are big and the gardens are beautiful. sunset views are incredible. What makes it really special are the staff - the wonderful ladies are so smiley, kind and helpful! absolute angels and they really made our stay. thank you so much. nothing - it was fabulous
- Dennis (10/5): Relaxing environment, and super friendly and helpful staff. i have nothing to complain about. - The garden and the friendly staff.
- lars erik (10/5): Very nice and beutiful - So nice and beutiful place, garden and lovely for swimming.
The stuff very happy and helpful, and breakfast good .
I really like the resort and will come back
- Femtehjell (8/5): Very good - The people working at the resort are super nice and went above and beyond if there was anything we needed. Location is right by the sea. Would recommend! Note that there is no aircon (fan worked fine) and the power outlets are US so we had to buy adapter at a store nearby.
- Megane (10/5): Amazing view - Amazing view from the garden, feeling like a 5 stars hotel with beautiful sunset
the staff is incredibly welcoming and always smiling nothing
- Jumeira (8/5): Excellent! - The area was beautiful and the room much bigger than expected. The people who work there were so friendly and helpful! The room is basic, but that is what you should expect for this price.
- Primož (9/5): Superb - Extremely nice staff, friendly, helpful, smiling, singing 😃. Property well taken care of, clean, peaceful and like paradise. Close to many shops, restaurants and a few steps from own beautiful sea. No hot water (but didn’t really miss it) and modest menu, but many restaurants around
- BubblyBarracuda (10/5): The Sunset alone is worth the price of Admission - I'm a returning guest of the Royal Cliff Resort. It is a very relaxing compound. I can't say enough good things about the staff. They were very attentive and helpful. Any request was addressed right away. They were always busy. Whether they were washing, sweeping or cleaning rooms.
The grounds of the Resort maintains the Eco-Friendly environment. A far cry from the condo laden beaches in other places.
If you are a diver, visit Coco Beach Dive Shop. Ask for Gabriel. I've scuba dived throughout the Caribbean and never seen coral reefs in such good shape.
I stayed for a couple of nights on March 2 -4th and one of favorite things is to sit in Royale Cliff secluded coves and watch the sun melt onto the horizon and listening to the waves. Maybe there's a "better" resort somewhere else on Siquijor but I'll never get to see it. Royal Cliff Resort. Castaway feel but comfortable.
- Natalie (8/5): Great location in lovely gardens - Great location right on the sea with steps going into the sea. In a beautiful setting with lots of plants, trees and outdoor seating areas. Also walking distance to our favourite beach, Tubod. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The lovely natural setting also mean there were a few geckos in the room.
- Amber (10/5): Wonderful place to stay - A few super cute bungalows in a lush green garden, right in front of a beautiful cliff. They made a nice place with seats and swings where you can hang out and watch the perfect sunset. The bungalows have big rooms and a nice big patio. And the best about the stay is the very warm welcome we got. Thanks girls, we really enjoyed our stay!
P.S. There were some negative reviews recently and I think they are unjust. I saw people complaining of ants, we haven't seen any. And gecko's neither, but also, who would mind a gecko in their room? They eat the mosquitos! They're nice. Nothing.
- Raimund (1/5): Bad Resort - Nothing. No taxidriver could find the place. 30x asked for nothing. The given adress was only Isla Mystic Beach Resort....circumferential road.
A scandal!
