Guest Reviews
- Christina (10/5): - Rita and her team were kind and supportive to me. I travel with my service dog. The room was clean and very comfortable.
- Frank (10/5): - I didn’t get to stay there (yet) because I was held up in my light aircraft by weather and couldn’t get into Lincoln.
Under the contract I forfeited my lodging fee, but they called me and offered to switch it to next time I came into town at no charge. It was an amazing act of generosity and hospitality. I am a fan for life.
- charles (10/5): - handy to services
- Phyllis (8/5): Comfortable - Check in was pleasant and easy. The receptionist was very welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom could use some repairs.
- nancy (10/5): - Clean, spacious parking, close to a nice little pub/ restaurant.
I'd recommend the inn,it supports a small, local business.
- Bonnie (6/5): - Convenient to my daughter's home.
The beds are very firm and uncomfortable, the pillows are very flat.
Pretty expensive for what you get 😏
- Susan (8/5): - This was a nice older motel that is being fixed up. Our room was clean with comfortable beds. There was some nice new furniture but some unfinished area so maybe still being renovated. Overall a good one night stop. A great place for breakfast not to far by car is Gather. Great coffee and breakfast.
- Tom (10/5): - Staff were very nice. 3 really good restaurants within walking distance. Our room was clean and comfortable.
- Alexus (8/5): - The person who checked me in was very friendly and it was very easy
- Gloria (10/5): - Unique decor, extremely clean room
- Bradley (6/5): Average room. - The room was big. 2 queen beds, floor looks new, probably vInyl. No rugs to keep from slipping when floor is wet. Plus I’m 5’1” and had to climb into bed. Otherwise just the 2 negative things take it down to average. Beds comfy. It worked ok.
- Michele (8/5): - Very clean and well kept property
- Christine (10/5): - They accommodated my late arrival. Flight was delayed and wouldn’t have made it in time for check in. Room was spacious and clean. Really quiet as well. When we come back we will stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Briarwood - We had a non-smoking room, however the room smelled like stale smoke. I think someone did smoke in there at one point. The room was clean and the beds were average.
- Belinda (6/5): - I have stayed at this motel many times. My biggest complaint has always been the lack of towels. Every time I have to go to the office to ask for more, however it's never a problem getting more. Just inconvenient. This time the room smelled musty and triggered my allergies. The property could use some updating. That's why I gave it 3 out of 5.
- Cynthia (10/5): - Very nice clean room
- Nathaniel (10/5): - It was beautifully maintained? My room was in the design of an old Maine Camp, it was really well done. The beds were comfortable and there was a microwave, refrigerator and even a little breakfast nook. A great place to stay
- Eric (10/5): - Great place
- Betty (10/5): - Great room and friendly staff.
- Caroline (10/5): - Was very surprised by how clean and well managed this property was. Most motels are run down and dirty, but this one was very clean and cared for. We slept so well despite the thin walls
- Rhonda (10/5): - The room was ready for us. Very clean! Wifi worked well. A good value for the price! Friendly! This is the 3rd time we've stayed there...twice my sister and I stayed and this time it was my husband and I. Very easy to schedule on line with Expedia and had the option to cancel or rescedule as long as not too close to date of reservation. Thank you!
- Paul (10/5): - Very tastefully decorated. The "back woods" look made me feel at home. In spite of a full house that night, it was quiet.
- George (10/5): - The room was decor was fitting for the location, it was clean, had a little table and chair, TV and refrigerator.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
- Wendy (2/5): - My room was next to office. So noisey I couldn't sleep!
- Martha (10/5): One night stay traveling to House in the Woods - One night stay traveling to Lee ME. Hotel was clean everything you need in the room. Front desk very friendly and helpful.
- Lisa May (10/5): - The room was spotlessly clean, beds were really comfortable, hosts were very accommodating. Great restaurant right across the street.
- Elaine (10/5): - Newly renovated room, the bed was exceptional! Clean, loved the decor. The price was affordable and the location convenient. Many good places to eat either within walking or short drive.
- Verified traveler (8/5): It fills the bill... - Staff very friendly and helpful. Room clean and well kept up. Loved the furniture!
Liquid soap dispenser for sink and shower. Shampoo dispenser for shower but no conditioner. Not an issue for me because I always bring my own but if I had forgotten hair care, conditioner would be a must. Perhaps calling the front desk would get you things you needed but forgot.
Had the expected fridge and microwave. Bed not as comfortable as some but certainly comfortable enough. I slept like a brick!
The only drawback was the smell of the room. Had that typical older-motel smell. No idea what one could do about that but... I got used to it.
It was basic and a little expensive for basic, in my opinion but I certainly do recommend it, and I would stay there again if I needed to be in the area overnight. Thank you!
- Annette (2/5): So gross and dissatisfying! - Don’t waste your money! If you must stay away from room 17 which is on the other side of the staffs smoking area. It smells absolutely disgusting. After hours of candles, a fan and windows open I finally went and asked to be moved. The women at the front desk acted completely annoyed. She finally told me they smoke on the other side of this room. Such a waste of money.
- Annette (10/5): - Friendly staff. Near snowmobile trail.
- Dawna (8/5): - Clean and good price for desired location.
- Harry (10/5): - Very Clean, Quiet and in a Great Location. Nice Friendly Staff. Highly Recommend Staying here. H. Shannon
- Kirk (10/5): Will be back - Neat room. spacious, attractive.
- Melanie (8/5): - The rooms were cozy, the beds were old and uncomfortable. The rooms were clean, and the staff was friendly. Rooms had a microwave, coffee pot and refrigerator. Strong wifi in individual rooms.
- Richard (8/5): - Cute and clean. People sat on the benches outside our window and talked early in the morning which woke us up.
- Merrie (10/5): - Very clean and easily accessible to family and small town shopping.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice room, but don't believe the No Smoking signs - The room was nice and the bed comfortable. The A/C worked well and was very quiet. It seemed as if everyone respected quiet hours (which started at 10pm). When we requested extra towels, the manager brought them to our room as daily housekeeping wasn't being offered due to post-covid protocols. The enamel on the sink was chipped and the drain stopper missing, but otherwise the room and bathroom were in very good condition. The "No Smoking" signs posted everywhere on the property (doors, posts, in the room, outside the room, and on the rental units across the parking lot) directly conflicted with the preponderance of ash trays (one outside every other room). Each morning, we left our room and smelled cigarette smoke (even saw some people outside smoking on a couple of occasions). This detracted from our experience and thus lowers the overall rating.
- Robert (10/5): - Very friendly staff. Good location with ameneties close by.
- Rodney (8/5): - My wife and I were very surprised that the property was as clean as it was. Good job to the staff for cleanliness.
- Linda (8/5): - Room lighting could be improved and floors are very creakily and loud. Loud exhaust fan in bathroom. Convenient location to restaurants and room was super clean.
- suresh rajaram (10/5): - It was amazing stay. We enjoyed it
- Debbie (10/5): - It was a beautiful night and we (3 women in our 60s) were outside on benches enjoying the evening. We asked an employee (very nice guy) if they had a table we could have outside to play cards. Next thing you know he's bringing us a dinner table on a cart!! We had a ball. Thank you to all employees.
- Jim (10/5): Pennsylvania - Friendly people to be around with. Recommend a great restaurant across the street “Gilmores”
Easy access in and out of the room
Very clean
- Beth (8/5): - Really liked the cabin feel to the room Mattress and pillows could be better No skirt covering the mattress Toilet kept running after flushing but it was clean and well lit Children from building across from inn playing in parking lot and a ball hit my car no damage
- Oren (4/5): - The staff was great. I didn't like the fact that the room wasn't cleaned througout the three nights I was there. Also, the blanket was of the wool-military type (the one that requires a sheet for seperation).
- JoAnne (8/5): - It is a nice place and nice people that work there
- Lisa (10/5): - Very friendly and clean.
- Molly (10/5): - Clean and convenient stop.
- Jenn (10/5): - The property was easy to find. The staff and check in process was easy, and the front desk clerk was very sweet and nice. The room was clean and smelled clean. Both beds were made up perfectly and the room had a cute log cabin feel to it. There was a microwave fridge and small seating area in the room. Beautiful hardwood floors and seperate sink and toliet/shower room. Will definitely come back.
- John (10/5): - The places the big big rooms I enjoy being left alone they don't bother you there's laundry here is everything you need is right around the corner you go right downtown you're right here staff is very friendly and you can have your dogs here you left alone
- Deborah (8/5): - Rooms were very clean and equipped with fridge, microwave and coffe pot. Have a nice table and chairs to dine at. Nicely furnished.
- Michelle (10/5): Home away from home. ❤️ - Everything was great! Felt like our home away from home. Staff was very accommodating. Will definitely stay again when I come back to the area.
- Amie (10/5): - Cute little rooms, very clean, and great customer service. All around a great experience, will stay again!
- Mark (10/5): Clean to the Max - One of the nicest stays I’ve ever had!! Clean clean clean….
- Raymond (8/5): Nice Place - It was a nice place, Wasn't wild about the restaurant options in town.
- Melissa (8/5): - The room was adorable and very spacious. The furniture was beautiful. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Overall it was a great stay. As I mentioned at check out, I was deeply appreciated that they did not inflate their prices two to the times during the college's family weekend. Such a blessing and honest place.
- Herbert (10/5): - Good price and clean room. Easy check-in. Everything in the room working as designed. The information package had well written instructions for the hvac system. Nice place👍
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Log furniture was great and staff was friendly. Would stay again
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean, quiet room. Very well decorated with a campy feel.
- CraziDave (10/5): - Awesome staff. I always stay at the Briarwood because of the staff, and it is where I need it to be.
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
The owners are very nice and the rooms are extremely clean. We love the rustic style decor.
- CraziDave (10/5): - Always love the Briarwood, the staff is fantastic, rooms are clean and comfortable. It is close to eating and shopping for last minute hunting / fishing supplies. I would strongly recommend this place if you are in the area.
- David (8/5): Internet Issues... - It would have been perfect IF the internet actually worked. Since the internet is important when on business trips I wouldn't stay there for business trips again..... if just passing through while not on business then I'd consider it.
- Donna (10/5): - Very clean and neat, handy to the restaurant near by
- Fish (8/5): - Fair price for clean accommodations. This is primarily a motel frequented by hunters and outdoorsmen, so amenities are limited and the rooms are not fancy, nor are they updated. Wooden chairs are very uncomfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I liked that the room was very clean the only thing I would add is a blow dryer in the room. I also appreciated there was a bible in the room
- craziDave (10/5): - The staff was awesome. Close to restaurants and stores. Room was perfect
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean room, close to the highway, across the street there's a nice pub to grab a bite, and adjacent to the pub is Walmart, worked out well for us.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Very clean room, looks like it was recently renovated.
Wasn't aware there wouldn't be any housekeeping, no fresh towels nor did the complimentary coffee get replaced.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly service and very convenient with a boat had places for us to park and charge our boats
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice room and clean . The area is beautiful with plenty of restaurants
- BostonMomof3 (4/5): - The property was definitely not "newly renovated" as their website suggests. There was a broken vent and huge paint chips missing from the walls, not to mention a bunch of dead bugs stuck to the ceiling. Housekeeping was minimal (fresh towels, bed cover haphazardly thrown up over the pillows). Upon arrival the front desk staff tried to tell me "my husband" had cancelled my reservation and they were fully booked. I had just driven 6 hours with 3 kids under age 8 so I wasn't pleased. They managed to find a room for me after moving things around. I would suggest calling to confirm your reservation after using a third party site to book for this particular hotel. I would also highly suggest that the property add light blocking curtains in the front windows as the exterior lights were shining in and made it impossible to sleep. Thank goodness it was cheap, I guess you get what you pay for! On the plus side, it was conveniently located to the town's restaurants and Walmart.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We liked the rustic log furniture but didn't like the scarcity of parking spaces when all rooms were filled. Also it was 40 min from Orono and 50 min from Bangor.
- ryan (10/5): Great little spot - This was the first time we stayed during a travel on motorcycle. What a great find! Rustic décor with all the comforts needed.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Love the log furniture! Very nice and helpful staff.
- wearytraveler (10/5): - My husband and I were only in our room for a few hours as we checked in late (or early morning) at 130 in the morning and had to leave by 6 for my son's competition. Staff were extremely nice and polite considering we woke them up, and they made sure to have coffee ready for us when we left, even though they didn't drink coffee themselves. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place to other travelers.
- Pierre (2/5): Place needs a face lift. - room 17 is adjacent to laundromat, the washer knocks on the wall like an earthquake! Bedding and towels are brown colour... Totaly non hygienic ....
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I like the country style atmosphere. The amish made furniture was beautiful. Management was great! Very friendly and accommodating.
- Robert (10/5): Cute Place - For what it is, it’s a great value. The front desk (I’m assuming owners) were very kind. It was the quickest check in I’ve ever had, just sign and go. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The room temp was good. The hotel is across from a Walmart and only about 5 mins from 95. However not a lot of food options after 8pm which is when I arrived. I would absolutely stay here again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I really enjoyed my 5 night stay. I have no complaints! Thank you!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The Location is Perfect! It's within walking distance to many things including, Wal-Mart, D.D.
The Staff was Very Pleasant & Friendly. The Room was Good size &
Very Clean. The beds had nice soft sheets & were very Comfy.
Can't wait to go back.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Missing hair dryers in room. Room a little too warm.
