Je zit in de natuur in een mooie kamer en slaapt 's nachts met de jungle geluiden. De eigenaar helpt je graag, is zeer vriendelijk en geeft een goed ontbijt! Je kunt een hike nemen naar het centrum (flink bergopwaards, 30 minuten lopen) of de eigenaar regelt een tuktuk voor je.

Nothing, it’s a short tuk tuk out of town but actually prefer that given how busy Ella was in the centre. Mathula helped us organised every time we wanted to go anyway so was so easy.

• Stieneke (7/5): Authentic jungle experience within a close distance of Ella - As Ella is known for being lively & noisy, we decided to book this place, located 10 tuk tuk minutes away from ´downtown´ Ella. It is located in the jungle, with views of paddy fields. The rooms couldn´t be calmer, and the staff was very friendly. Breakfast (included) was served on the outside terrace. A beautiful setting. We booked two rooms, and while one was excellent in all aspects, the other smelled heavily and was very damp. Because of the mosquitoes, it wasn´t possible to sleep with the doors or windows open.

• Lena (10/5): Best host in Sri Lanka - This was definitely our best hotel during our 3 week trip in Sri Lanka!!! It’s probably not the most central location in Ella but Mithula and his team will take THE best care of you! My parents had A LOT of requests and they helped us with everything and were super kind - like organising TukTuks, booking bus tickets for us, figuring out hiking routes, massage advices, making dinner etc…. And because Ella is so busy we really enjoyed the peaceful rice fields on our big terraces as well as the rooms which are super big and comfortable. I can recommend this hotel - which feels like a home - from the bottom of my heart! Thank you Mithula for all your help and laughter Nothing!

The host was sooooo lovely and thought full and accommodating!!!! The view was absolutely breathtaking a lot quieter. I would not recommend walking from Ella main town to the property in the evening and at night as it is on Bendy and remote roads it’s definitely not a far walk but as a tourist and solo I would recommend getting a motorcycle or car to and from the venue, especially at night
• Caroline (10/5): Chilled place to stay! - Lovely spacious room with balcony overlooking rice paddy fields and with view of the Kumbalwela Mahamevnawa Forest Reserve and Temple. It’s about 4km out of Ella which suited us as very tranquil location. Really helpful host - full of ideas re where to visit and even ferried us around a bit. Dinner was great and reasonably priced. Nothing really. The access was down a track / bumpy road but managed in our tuk tuk nevertheless!

• Georgia (10/5): Peaceful, clean room with stunning scenery - The room is so peaceful and clean, the view is just incredible! We sat out on the balcony chairs for hours admiring the scenery. This accommodation really is a slice of paradise! A bit far from Ella centre, but a Tuktuk could easily be hailed at the end of the road for 500 rupees into the centre of town. The location just adds to the peacefulness to be honest.
• Kamila (10/5): Great view and amazing hospitality - This guesthouse in Ella was an absolute gem! From the moment I arrived, I felt incredibly welcomed and cared for. My room was spacious, had a great resting area with a sofa and armchairs, and offered a stunning view. What truly made this stay exceptional, however, was the host's incredible hospitality. He went above and beyond to ensure I had a wonderful experience. He picked me up from the train station upon my arrival and even offered me rides on his motorbike throughout my stay, whether it was to the main town or back to the guesthouse. His local knowledge was invaluable, offering excellent recommendations for things to see and do in the area. He even treated me to a delicious breakfast one morning and always made sure I had access to tea and coffee. When I got a bit ill, he showed genuine concern and even got me some Ayurvedic medicine, refusing any payment for. At the end of my stay he dropped me off at the bus stop and made sure I boarded the correct bus for my onward journey. The guesthouse is conveniently located just a 20-25 minute walk from the heart of Ella, making it easily accessible even without your own transport. The peaceful and quiet surroundings ensured a restful stay. I cannot recommend this guesthouse highly enough!

Breakfast is delicious and very plenty! Tuk Tuk 500 Rs to town. There is also a scooter available for rent. For us it was the best place ever!!!
• Tine (10/5): A peaceful escape in nature with the sweetest and most caring hosts! - The best stay in my almost 3 months time in Sri Lanka! Mithula and Prakash go above and beyond to give the guests the best possible experience, always with their biggest smiles. The breakfast is the most delicious local food I had, the rooms are super clean, very spacious, bright and with a dream view balcony in the middle of nature & paddy fields. You can drive to town in 5 minutes if you have a scooter, Mitha can arrange a TukTuk, or just walk along the beautiful tea plantations in 20 minutes. Mitha is very passionate about his country, showed me around and learned me so much about the local culture. We went on great adventures and became friends. I will miss you 2 and Ella but we will meet again! Bohoma sthuthi!

They went above and beyond for us, ensuring our stay was comfortable and even helping us with train tickets at the train station upon leaving! The room itself is excellent, with a great view. The location is perfect, outside the main road of Ella but a short 6 minute drive with a TukTuk. We could not recommend this place enough, 10/10! We had slight issues with wifi, something to bear in mind if you need to do video calls.

• Era (10/5): Exceptional Stay at Ella Ayubo, A Hidden Gem Offering Incredible Value for Money. - My husband and I spent our first night in the heart of Ella city, but unfortunately, the place was too noisy with heavy traffic sounds, leaving us quite disappointed. The next day, we booked a stay at Ella Ayubo, which turned out to be an absolutely stunning location. The people running the place were lovely, brilliant, and incredibly friendly. Our room was spacious and romantic, offering great service, breathtaking views, and the best Sri Lankan breakfast we had during our entire trip. The location was convenient too—just 1km from Ella station, about a 20-minute walk. They also arranged a special dinner for us, featuring a homemade Sri Lankan dish that was simply delicious. What made this place stand out even more was the incredible value for money. For the quality of accommodation, we couldn't believe how affordable it was—there’s no way we could find a room of this standard for the same price anywhere else in Ella. It truly exceeded our expectations and is highly recommended. At first glance, it may seem like a small business and some might underestimate it, but during our stay, it truly exceeded 5-star standards in every way.

The room is big enough and very very clean, we had everything we need in it. Mithula was the host and he was so welcoming and you will get best hospitality experience in Sri Lanka from his staff. The property is built in nature, and you will experience all the breathtaking views around it. you will see a beautiful paddy field and very calm and quiet place for your relaxation. We were not planning for the breakfast but want to try it after all the positive experiences we had, when we mentioned this to the host he was warm enough to take our request on such short notice and it was one of the best spreads of Sri Lankan Breakfast you will get for the value you pay. Amazing food !! The location is very convenient, its only 1 km from the heart of Ella city and you will not feel walking on it with beautiful scenes. We were told by the host they will have scooters if you want to rent it out, will be one of the best ways to travel for a couple or can hire a tuk tuk or a vehicle with a reasonable price. Would have stayed long if we didn’t had any other holiday plans arranged. Highly recommend for anyone who is looking to stay in Ella.

It's a delight to wake up and go to sleep every day embraced by the forest. The location is perfect, very close to the center, but surrounded by nature. The most incredible thing is that, in addition to all the comfort and beauty of this accommodation, it has an extremely attentive staff who are concerned with making our stay the best possible. Mithula is a natural host. Kind, quick and super welcoming. I hope to have the opportunity to stay there again!

• Thilina (2/5): Not as expected - Location Water pressure was very bad in the bathroom, you have to spend a lot of time when taking a shower since the water flow is very low. And also you have to wait for a long time for hot water . We were woken up by a sound of some people singing and playing a bongo around 1 am early morning and it lasted until 2 or 3 am. We requested an iron, just after we received there was no power in the room.
• Kimberley (8/5): peaceful, quite and comfy rooms - only the sound of the nature at night, which we enjoyed a lot! no noise from cars or city, so peaceful & calm. the rooms were nice & spacious. beds were very comfy. staff all the time tried to make our stay joyful and smooth - organized vehicle to Udawallawe for a good price. wifi works fine. first night somehow we only had (very) cold water but next 2 nights it was nice warm. food was tasty but the two times we ordered without spices/chili food was still too spicy for us so we couldn’t eat, but the staff were understanding and took responsibility and gave a discount.

Water pressure is low. There were some customers that came too early before the check in time and they were too loud.

• Roshan (10/5): Wonderful place to stay in Ella. - Wonderful place to stay in Ella. The hotel is located a few minutes away from the Ella railways station (about 500 local currency will get you there by tuk tuk) Mithun the owner and the caretaker of the place has such a positive vibe that it makes your stay even better and he will arrange everything that you need to make your stay a memorable experience. Room was bigger than I thought and the interior gave the authentic stone brick vibe which was a plus to the surrounding nature. There is small stream running down just next to the hotel although you can only hear it as the vegitation covers the area. And waking up to the sounds of the nature was a great way to start your day. All the general attraction are closeby and you can get a bike rental or a tuk tuk. Mithun will arrange that as well. Will recommend this place to all who are looking for a quite place to stay and relax and I will definitely be visiting this amazing place again

• Fiego (10/5): The highlight place. - During my recent trip to Ella, Sri Lanka, I had the pleasure of staying at the Ayubo Ella, The highlight of this place is undoubtedly the breathtaking view it offers. With just three fantastic rooms, it felt like an exclusive getaway. Vaji, the hotel owner, was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. We took advantage of their scooter rental service, which made it convenient to explore Ella and its surroundings. The hotel is conveniently located just 1 km away from Ella Railway Station, and it's an enjoyable 30-minute walk.  The breakfast they served was super satisfying. Dinners were a treat, with delicious dishes that left our taste buds wanting more. Our room had a brilliant view, and it was spacious with all the necessary facilities. When it was time for us to move on to our next destination in Mirissa, the hotel staff helped us arrange a reliable taxi at a reasonable price. Overall, Ayubo provided us with an unforgettable experience in Ella, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting this charming Sri Lankan town.

Upon arriving at Ayubo Ella, the first thing that strikes you is the breathtaking view. The hotel boasts an amazing view of the Ella landscape that left me in awe. It's a picture-perfect setting that makes you feel instantly relaxed and connected to nature. The hotel itself is a cozy retreat with only three fantastic rooms, which adds to the sense of exclusivity and personalized service. Wajira, the friendly owner, is not just a host but also an excellent guide. He went out of his way to ensure that we had everything we needed during our stay. His local insights and recommendations were invaluable in making the most of our Ella experience. Ayubo Ella's location is also a plus, just 1.2 kilometers away from the heart of Ella, and conveniently close to the train station. • Shashvika (10/5): Calm and quite nice place. Wonderful stay. - Overall, I had a great experience with the Ayubo Ella. The staff was the nicest, I have ever encountered at a hotel. They were always friendly. The room was fantastic, clean  modern and had a fantastic view over tea plantations and paddy fields. The room was big and the bed was super comfy. I could watch the fire flies at night time and listen to the incredible wildlife. We  had traditional Srilankan breakfast. There was huge portion. Loved my stay. Will be back for sure. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Ella.
• André (10/5): A perfect stay in Ella - A perfect stay in Ella. Just 1km away from the railway station. The view from the homestay is amazing. The family owned well maintained place at a budget price. 5 rooms are available in the homestay and can accomodate 11 people comfy but upto 15 people can manage it. We group of friends stayed a night there and they arranged our lunch upon our request and they had every kitchen needs including a plates, tea cups, knifes, spoons etc. to prepare us our dinner. Also they arranged a campfire and help us in every way. Rooms are fabulous views and we didnt expect that much according to the budget price. All rooms had attached bathrooms with hot water showers. We spent there relaxed and had a great expirence. Worth to visit. Recommend it. 😃

• Romy (10/5): Great hospitality,highly suggested - One of the best places we've been in Sri Lanka. When we arrived we found a super clean and tidy room that had a fantastic scent. The host, is an amazing person that helped us a lot and a terrific chef. For the three days we were there, we had some of the best breakfast that we had in Sri Lanka. (Since we are vegans, cooked great vegan breakfasts for us) Great hospitality, highly suggested. Nothing, everything great.

• Gunasekara (10/5): I invite my friends to stay there. - I'm lucky to stay there in Ayubo Ella.calm and quiet place.They warmly welcomed me and my friend.Room is very very spacious,with a comfy bed. Really not far from Ella,we can walk to the city in 8 minutes.The surrounding is nice.we could have to see some rare birds and animals.The deer,peacocks ,giant squirrel etc. We also saw the beautiful tea plantations,paddy fields around the place. Finally we had a excellent breakfast with all kinds of Sri Lankan tasty food items. The boy guided us. He's very friendly. Thanks for all your facilities,and hospitality.Hope to see you in December again. Nothing .we recommend a good place to stay.

• Dremps (10/5): Incredible, hideout place in Ella - We stayed here mid-way through our honeymoon, and while a little out of our usual comfort zone (expected) we absolutely loved it. The accommodation felt rustic, and authentic, and was beautifully decorated, set overlooking a rice field. However, this turned out to be a great experience, where we sat on the porch and watched fireflies dance around the trees opposite. The food was incredible, and the Poboda,he was always happy cooking and explaining the foods and process. We also did a cooking lesson, which was a great experience. The owner, was incredibly welcoming, and made some great recommendations and offered to arrange various activities for us. My Wife also left her shoes when we left, and owner kindly dropped them to us a few days later as he was nearby. 1km in city center, nothing
