• Klaus (10/5): - Die Lage des Hauses ist ideal um Funchal zu erkunden. Zentral und doch ruhig gelegen ist es ein idealer Ausgangspunkt. Unsere Gastgeber, dass Ehepaar Becker, waren außergewöhnlich aufmerksame, freundliche und zugleich zurückhaltende Gastgeber, bei denen wir uns rundum wohl gefühlt haben. Die Ausstattung, die Sauberkeit und das reichhaltige Frühstück sind auf Top Niveau. Wir haben uns in den 5 Tagen unseres Aufenthalts rundum wohl gefühlt und kommen sehr gerne wieder. Distance raisonnable à pied pour se rendre dans le centre de Funchal aux restaurants ou autres.
• Julie (10/5): A luxurious stay in a perfect location. - The location was perfect. Just a short, steep walk down to the old town. The room was spacious with beautiful furnishings, and the bathroom was excellent too, with a large walk-in shower. We enjoyed our walk through the lush gardens to breakfast every morning. Breakfast was among the best we’ve ever had. Heike provides delicious food from all over the island and mainland Portugal and describes it to you in attentive detail. It was always a pleasure to taste the food. The pool was also an enjoyable way to cool down each afternoon - an extra bonus to staying here.
• Peter (7/5): Mooie accomodatie maar we voelden er ons niet thuis. - Goed gelegen. Heel netjes. Ruimte om aan het zwembad te zitten. Rustige omgeving, dichtbij het oude gedeelte. Onbijt was wel lekker maar wel kleine hoeveelheden en geen keuze. Zeer onpraktisch om met zware valiezen de vele trappen te overbruggen zonder lift of hulp. Oncomfortabele zetels en stoelen aan zwembad. Geen parkeerplaats. Je moet absoluut voor 20h inchecken. Vriendelijk zolang je aan alle regeltjes voldoet, maar het volstaat om te vragen om 10' vroeger te onbijten en dan slaat dat om.

• Robert (10/5): An immaculate and welcoming boutique hotel. - Our hosts gave us a very warm welcome which continued throughout our stay and we very much appreciated being able to arrive well before the normal check in time to fit in with our previous accommodation. An immaculate and thoughtfully presented B&B. Every detail had been thought about and there was a peaceful feel as soon as you stepped through the gates. The views over the sea and the harbour were amazing and were especially enjoyed over breakfast on the balcony. Breakfast was exceptional with freshly prepared food and a choice of hot food each day. The steps up to the hotel were steep and might prove a problem for less agile people but steep slopes are to be expected anywhere in Funchal!

Je komt in een oase van rust op een heel kleine afstand van een drukke stad. Heike is een uitstekende gastvrouw die je op alle domeinen verwent. Als gast voel je je hier super gelukkig en blijft de glimlach op je gezicht. SUPER VERBLIJF.❤️ Helemaal niets.
• Katrin (10/5): Eine tolle Unterkunft - Alles war toll. Wir waren das zweite Mal da. Hammerfrühstück! Die Betten sind leicht gebaut. Wenn sich ein schwerer Mensch umdreht, wackelt das Bett sehr. Das werden die meisten aber nicht bemerken.
• Bianca (10/5): Tolle Auszeit in sehr schöner Unterkunft - Die Unterkunft ist sehr gut gelegen, 15 min zur Innenstadt mit Ausgangspunkt für Touren, Bus, Seilbahn etc. Tolle Restaurants unmittelbar in der Nähe. Zimmer sehr hübsch eingerichtet, Außenanlagen sehr gepflegt. Alles sehr sauber . Frühstück regional und sehr hochwertig, auf individuelle Wünsche wird eingegangen. Tee, Kaffee und Wasser zur freien Verfügung. Sehr freundliche Gastgeber.

Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber und mit allem notwendigen ausgestattet. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich das täglich hochwertige und abwechslungsreiche Frühstück. Wir hatten eine sehr gute Zeit in der Quinta B.

• Katharina (7/5): privat gepflegte Unterkunft mit einigen Regeln - Schön angelegte , gepflegte , privat geführte Unterkunft . Die Lage ist super . Mit parken hatten wir im Oktober direkt vor der Unterkunft auf den Straßen keine Probleme. Sehr schöne Zimmer - tolle Aussicht ! Man fühlt sich als Gast bei jemandem Zuhause - genauso ist es auch , da die Betreiber im OG Leben . Wir hatten das untere Zimmer mit Blick auf Pool und Meer inkl kleiner Terrasse . An sich ist das Zimmer sowie die ganze Anlage sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet . Privatsphäre im Zimmer ja , auf der Terrasse definitiv gar nicht . Das sollte man beim buchen finde ich wissen . Es darf auf dem ganzen Gelände nicht geraucht werden . Dafür soll man auf die Straße gehen … Frühstück sehr lecker - Uhrzeit dafür zu spät für eine Insel der Wanderliebhaber. Man muss das Frühstück am Tag davor anmelden sonst gibt’s nichts - lecker is es aber

Sufficiently close to recommended/good restaurants. We did venture to the hotel area of Funchal but this just confirmed the wisdom of staying near the Old Town. We coped well enough but always reminded it was on a steep slope - but this is Madeira ;)

• Andreas (10/5): - Die Quinta B. hat eine ausgezeichnete, zentrale Lage und ist gleichzeitig ruhig gelegen. Das Frühstück ist sehr abwechslungsreich und wurde jeden Tag mit viel Liebe zum Detail angerichtet und auf der Terrasse mit herrlichem Ausblick serviert. Die Zimmer sind geräumig und durchdacht ausgestattet. Viele Kleinigkeiten haben unseren Aufenthalt perfekt gemacht. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Die Gastgeber sind ausgesprochen herzlich und jederzeit hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück war ein echtes Highlight: abwechslungsreich, frisch, lokal und mit viel Liebe zubereitet. Zudem liegt die Quinta B sehr zentral. Das meiste in Funchal ist zu Fuß erreichbar. Wir können die Quinta B nur weiterempfehlen und würden jederzeit wiederkommen! -
• Corrigan (10/5): A beautiful home with wonderful hosts, amazing breakfasts and the perfect Funchal location. - I had such a lovely stay at Quentis B. Heike and Jochen were so welcoming and even let me leave my rucksack there before check-in and after check-out, which made things so much easier. I was travelling on my own but Heike and Jochen made me feel just as comfortable and included as all the other guests. The place itself was spotless and had everything you could need. They gave me really good tips on what to see and do and the breakfast each morning was amazing. I loved having that slow, easy start to the day. It made me slow down and really enjoy my holiday. As a cheese lover, I was in heaven with the variety of local cheeses and the homemade jams were so tasty. The location is perfect. The accommodation is only a few minutes from the old town and a lovely swimming area. I enjoyed my stay so much and would highly recommend their beautiful home to stay in. Nichts!
• Lexi (9/5): Top! - We vonden ons verblijf in Quinta B. de perfect start van onze trip in Madeira. We werden meteen vriendelijk onthaald met een lokale wijn & verfrissend handdoekje. De kamers waren piekfijn in orde & ruim en je hebt een fantastisch uitzicht vanuit de B&B. Om midden in Funchal te zitten, was deze locatie zeer rustig en dichtbij alles. Het ontbijt was telkens verzorgd en verrassend, met de nodige info en uitleg. Leuke extra: ik werd op mijn verjaardag verrast met een flesje bubbels. Kortom: wanneer je naar Madeira gaat, twijfel om Quinta B. op je lijst te zetten! Het enige wat we als minder positief ervaarden, was de steile helling richting de B&B vanuit het centrum van Funchal. Iets minder interessant voor minder mobiele personen.

• Guglielmo (10/5): Lovely stay in a refined boutique B&B - We had a lovely stay at Quint B. The place is even better looking in person than from the photos. The breakfast is glorious (lots of local products including jams, hams and cheeses). Last but not least, the host is extremely welcoming and helpful. It really felt like staying in a familiar villa.

Wel wat huisregels!. Hek op slot draaien bij ieder vertrek of aankomst, airco uit als je bij het zwembad zat. Stoelen bij zwembad mochten niet verplaatst worden. Deed wat streng aan!

The couple that own this property are superb , so attentive to your needs and truly understand whats needed for there guests to have a pleasant stay. Beautiful location overlooking the sea, with a beautiful garden area by the pool too. Everything was clean and smelt lovely. Room was made up each day , while we ate a tasty and very thoughtful breakfast. Alternating selection of cheeses from this beautiful part of the world , meats, cakes , fruits and more if specified! Great walking distance to the old town, exactly what we were after! Overall we had a lovely holiday because Madeira is a lovely place to visit but mostly because of Quinta Bs Teams 10/10 hospitality ! Thank you Nothing we can think of

The rooms are beautifully kept and the location is ideal for walking into the centre of Funchal and travelling to the popular hiking destinations. The breakfast is exceptional with freshly prepared cakes, jams, meats and cheeses from around the island. We had the perfect relaxing and action packed holiday at Quinta B.
• Diane (10/5): Amazing B&B in Funchal - Absolutely everything! The owners Heike en Jochim have created a beautiful bed and breakfast and stunning garden with swimming pool. It has several seating areas with a view of the ocean. The property and the rooms are extremely clean and nicely decorated. It is very quiet but still close to the city center. The breakfast was amazing, Heike explained all the products and where they were from. Fresh bread, fruit, homemade jams, cakes, different types of cheese and meat etc. It was all delicious! • Katlin (10/5): Exceptional - I had high expectations for Quinta B — and they were fully met! We arrived on a Saturday via a €16 Bolt from the airport. Heike, our wonderful hostess, welcomed us with Madeira wine on the balcony overlooking the ocean — the perfect way to begin our holiday. She shared local tips and gave us a relaxed introduction before showing us the thoughtfully designed facilities, including a pantry, reading lounge, and even a shoe-washing sink by the gate (my personal favorite!). Our room was bright, spacious, spotless, and perfect for unwinding after long hikes. The real highlight? Breakfast! Every morning we were served a beautifully curated tray of local products — cakes, fruits, cheeses, and homemade condiments — with Heike walking us through everything. The property was close to the centre and very good location to navigate out of Funchal with the car as well. We didn't actually try the pool but the terrace and lounge area outside was a perfect little oasis to look over the city. Quinta B felt like home, thanks to the warm hospitality and attention to detail. Highly recommended! Oh, and my best recommendation is for parking if there's none available in front of the hotel or you'd rather avoid the narrow and steep streets - we used the parallel street above Avenue de Santiago Menor where it was easy to park and usually on weekdays after 5pm plenty available and it's only a few minute walk to the hotel. • Thomas (10/5): It's a very welcoming place with exceptional hosts and l would recommend the hotel to anyone anyone. - The breakfasts were amazing! Each one was cooked on individual requests. Heidi brought us additional products based on Madeira culture regarding pastries, breads, cheese and fruits. The rooms were spotlessly clean and catered for possible any needs e.g. first aid kit. Nothing.
• Roy (10/5): Perfect - Just a perfect place to stay near the historic part of Funchal. Quinta B, is immaculate, comfortable and welcoming. Heike looks after her guests very well and provides an exceptional breakfast too.
• Gill (10/5): QB = Quite Breathtaking! - It has never been easier to leave a 5* review as absolutely everything here was incredible. This is a perfect gem of a property, where attention to detail is off the chart. I'm sure it has been said by many previous guests, but from the moment we arrived it was an experience of pure joy - elevated beyond all our expectations by the genuine and immensely warm welcome from Heike, coupled of course, with a glass of Madeira wine, gorgeous surroundings inside and out, and the most beautiful, stylish and sophisticated spotless rooms. Breakfast deserves a special mention. Delivered on a tiered platter (like an Afternoon Tea), we were served a bountiful selection of fruits, yogurt, homemade jams, honey, syrups, cheeses, meats, breads, rice pudding, salads (rice, beetroot, carrot, fennel, beans...) and homemade, delicious cakes. I must also mention that every day, the selection of all the above was slightly different, and with each individual item we learned of its provenance, whether it be a locally produced honey or a cheese from the Azores. In addition, there was an egg dish offering to choose from and I particularly loved the frittata! The Guest Information booklet too was brilliantly put together, giving suggestions for attractions to visit, local restaurants to try, walking and jogging routes etc. all clearly mapped out so we could easily get our bearings. Heike and Jochen are clearly incredibly passionate about and proud of Quinta B and rightly so; it is their home too after all. Together with their small but dedicated team, they have beautifully created a haven of tranquillity and relaxation beyond compare and we applaud them all for their hard work, and for their values and principles which underpin it all. We will have many long-lasting memories of a truly amazing experience here in Funchal at Quinta B and without doubt, we will be back! Absolutely nothing!
• Carly (10/5): A calm oasis and a warm welcome awaits! - If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in Funchal, then please look no further! Heike and her husband were so welcoming and have created such a fantastic atmosphere and place to be. We had the most wonderful breakfast of local breads, meats, cheeses, fruit and homemade preserves. It was great to be able to order additional things such as eggs and French toast the night before. Our room was clean and comfortable and we always looked forward to enjoying some time on the terrace, watching the sun go down. We could even arrange a half-day tour around the island and transfers to the airport. Nothing was too much trouble and we hope to return soon!
• Susan (10/5): Exceptional - We loved everything about our stay at Quinta B, the accommodation is fabulous, very modern, clean and comfortable, the owners are really lovely, a friendly husband and wife team and they have thought of everything to make your stay as wonderful as it can be. We had a room with a lovely terrace to sit out on, with stunning views overlooking the beautiful bay. All the surroundings are very nice, with a beautiful ambience, especially at night when it's all lit up. There is a swimming pool of which we didn't get time to use but it is very nice. The breakfast is fabulous, everyday it was brought out, presented like an afternoon tea, with lots of lovely homemade jams, relishes, cake etc, with cooked meats and cheeses, of which our host explained where they were all sourced from, and added with that was your choice of egg, omelette, fried etc however you wanted it cooked, this was ordered the night before. Weather depending, you can sit out side on the terrace, with lovely views, we did this most days but inside was a lovely space too. The accommodation is very peaceful and quiet and only a short distance to walk to main streets of Funchal, it is a bit hilly to get down to town so not for those that may struggle with this but we certainly got plenty of exercise in! We stayed over the New Year period, and there were lots of cruise ships that had come in to see the fabulous Madeira fireworks. the ships looked lovely all lit up at night. Our host had recommended to watch the fireworks from the breakfast terrace at the accommodation, we did walk into town earlier about 10pm, to soak up the New Year atmosphere, there was lots going on with live music etc...but we chose to go back to view the fireworks at the accommodation as suggested and we were not disappointed as the views were fantastic!! All in all we had a fabulous stay, we can't recommend staying here enough, to anyone coming to beautiful Madeira, you will not be disappointed! Nothing, everything was just perfect 👌
• Philip (10/5): A really enjoyable break - Great location, very high standard throughout and very helpful owner. Top breakfasts too!
• Arabella (9/5): Very pleasant and relaxing, beautiful accomodation with excellent breakfast - Beautiful room, lovely (huge) bathroom with great shower. Great location within about 10 minutes walking of Santa Maria street where there are many restaurants. Also close to the old fort where there is a lovely swimming spot. Host had thought of every detail. Delicious breakfast. Really beautiful clean and tidy accomodation. Host very helpful. A really lovely, peaceful and relaxing place to stay with absolutely no noise at night. Host will arrange taxi transfer to and from airport which made arrival and departure painless. 8.30 as earliest breakfast time is quite late. This was confirmed by the fact that all the guests would present at exactly 8.30! Because the host prepared the breakfast on a room-by-room basis (with exceptional attention to detail and care, absolutely cannot fault the quality) this did mean sometimes you could be waiting til almost 9 to start your breakfast. Yes, they will prepare you sandwiches in advance if you want to go out "early" - but if you want to go out not particularly early but not late, and don't want to miss the exceptional breakfast, then you have to wait. But cannot fault how good the breakfast was - we mostly didn't need lunch after! Also perhaps the option to not have clean towels every day, from an ecological perspective, could be considered.
• Jonathan (10/5): A wonderful stay - Everything was amazing! A warm welcome and so friendly - always keen to help. The breakfasts were delicious with homemade jams, good selection of cooked meats and cheeses and choice of cooked options - even provided gluten free alternatives. Lovely pool and terrace to relax with a beautiful sea view and very quiet. Room was also very comfortable. Well located for the old town and lots of restaurants/bars nearby. Couldn't ask for more and we will come back! Nothing - it was perfect!
• Ger (9/5): Gorgeous in everyway, would definitely come back - Loved so much about our stay at Quinta B. The hosts are genuinely attentive without being overbearing. Our room was exquisite, double doored looking on to the sea. The vibe is really chic and relaxed. Location is excellent, you are in old town with a short walk to a myriad beautiful restaurants dotted everywhere. Not that we didnt like it but if you struggle with hill climbing prepare to take taxis.

The made-to-order breakfasts were delicious. The facility had only 4 rooms which was lovely and the rooms and common areas were clean, spacious and comfortable. The location was excellent and made it fun to explore the area on foot. The pool was wonderful to relax in after exploring the area each day. I would absolutely stay at Qunita B again and would enthusiastically recommend it to friends travelling to the area. Nothing.
• Denise (10/5): Best place to stay in Funchal - We were welcomed warmly on our arrival with a glass of madeiran wine and fortunately our room was ready for us even though we were slightly early for check in.After being shown our room which was delightful with everythingyou need and spotlessly clean we checked out surroundings for food and drink etc..The location is perfect and everything is within easy walking distance from Quinta B.There is amazing view from the terrace of the harbour which is lovely to enjoy whilst in the pool or having breakfast.Breakfast like a King is exactly what you will do as its exceptional. Our hosts prepare this feast by checking the previous night how we like eggs cooked and then a selection of cheeses cooked meats yoghurt and fruit is presented at the table with a detailed explanation of where products are sourced.Homemade jams and cake also!Without a doubt a truly unique experience that is a highlight of the day.The hosts are a lovely couple clearly very passionate about providing an overall superb experience. There are 4 rooms only and that makes it so special.Tea coffee and chilled water is available complimentary and there is also beer and wine you can purchase.The hosts are very informative and helpful around arranging trips and recommendations for great restaurants.I would return here with no hesitation and happily recommend it to all my friends and family. Thank you Heike and Jochem for making our stay so memorable. Nothing this place is faultless!

Heike and her husband were incredibly friendly and helpful and don't even get me started on the breakfasts that they served us every morning. The food was incredibly tasty and locally sourced. To sum it all, everything was tuned to perfection and if you ever visit Madeira I would highly recommend this accommodation.
• Calum (10/5): Perfect hosts, B&B and breakfast for those looking to visit Madeira! - Quinta B. is brilliantly located just a few minutes walk from central Funchal yet far enough away to get some peace and quiet if you want it and a great view out over the harbour. The hosts were brilliant throughout with nothing being too much trouble - a brilliant breakfast each morning, restaurant suggestions, things to do and helping me unlock the safe when I accidentally locked my documents inside. The facilities were all spotlessly clean and there was everything you could possibly need - it is incredibly hard to fault and I’d certainly recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Madeira. Honestly, incredibly hard to find fault!

Everything was amazing - the location, the house and all the attention to detail our hosts showed. Breakfasts were perfectly balanced and we received great tips and advice for the trips in the area, as well as packed sandwiches, for days when we would miss our breakfast, due to tour schedule. • Andreea (10/5): Lovely stay in Funchal - Our host was very kind, helpful and thoughtful. The property is very beautiful, with a very nice garden, pool and view over the city of Funchal. Everything is very well taken care of. The property is close to the old town, where you can find a lot of restaurants and bars. We also loved the fact that the property is not big, it only has a few rooms that can be rented, so it was very quiet. The breakfast was lovely, with an amazing presentation each morning. It was not a buffet, but the host cooked for you every morning and there is also a selection of cheeses and meat, as well as fruit, yoghurt and cake, not to mention coffee, tea and fresh juices. Our room was very spacious, especially the bathroom and it was cleaned every single day. All in all, we had everything that we needed, including beach towels, brushes to clean our shoes after hiking, many travel guides to get inspiration from The following are not really things that bothered us, but are, however, worth mentioning: as already said above, we had everything that we needed, however, a fridge in the room would have been nice. Breakfast only starts at 8:30, but the host offered to make sandwiches for us in case we planned to leave earlier than that. The steps at the entrance are pretty steep.

The highlight was breakfast. It has been a long time since “bed and breakfast” really included breakfast. The owner cooked a very special treat every morning. They made us feel special and welcomed in their home. There is nothing that could have made our visit more enjoyable.
