- JITENDRA (2/5): - Not enough space to discribe .
- Anjan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (2/5): Should not be listed until renovation is finished - The hotel iis under renovation and should not be made available for reservations.
Breakfast is not available on the property due to scaffolding and dust.
This property is not a “Haveli”, it is an ordinary house and being labeled as one.
- Varsha (8/5): Very good - The rooms are great ! Friendly and helpful staff. The location is difficult to reach and the roads / approach to the property is not clean enough..
- Kumar (10/5): Excellent and Memorable - Interior and Service Nothing as such
- Petra (10/5): Very beautiful heritage house with surpising, excellent rooms, quiet, but central - Beautiful heritage house and extraordinary rooms! We spent time on the cosy terrace and on the private balcony.Staff is very friendly.Everything in Walking distance, all perfect!
- David (9/5): Excellent stay in Annex to fine hotel - This is an annex to the main hotel The House of MG - we checked in there and they provided a rickshaw to the Haveli, which is deep inside the old city. The haveli is a beautifully restored old building, and our room was large and comfortable on the ground floor. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we had breakfast at the Haveli, although the main hotel helped us arrange a driver to take us to the sites we wanted to visit. We also used the swimming pool in the main hotel, which was excellent. It was about a mile (1.5 km) between the haveli and the main hotel, a very good walk past some of the main mosques and sites, but best done before 10am or after 10pm, as the density of traffic, especially two-wheelers, otherwise makes the journey rather stressful. The booking.com site, and the information received, is misleading in that it does not say that you should check in at the main hotel. Also it is unacceptable that the map in booking.com showed the haveli as nowhere near its actual location - I complained about this and I hope it will be changed.
- Bharat (1/5): It is the worst place I have ever tried to stay in we paid the full price but left in a hurry as we did not wish to sta - Did not like it at all Did not like it at all
It’s in dead end
You can not access it with a car
You would need a rickshaw to take you this place
Out side it’s full of mosquitoes
It’s dirty, inside bed bugs
Mosquitoes, Mosquitoes and more Mosquitoes every where
Avoid
The place did not seem safe either
We actually paid the full day stay
But had to leave after visiting the place
It is the worst place I have ever tried to stay in we paid the full price but left in a hurry as we did not wish to stay with mosquito and bed bugs & it felt very unsafe
- Shreyas (7/5): Spacious room, helpfuk staff but the neighbourhood was not great and I don’t think it’s worth the exorbitant price! - Spacious rooms and great views form the rooftop! Really hard to get to since cars don’t fit through the streets. House of MG put me in the Haveli that was very far away from the main building even though I had booked the one closer to the main cafe.
- Iuliia (6/5): Pleasant -
- Riaz (8/5): You get a taste of old Ahmedabad - Lovely well restored Haveli
Penthouse room spacious
Very comfortable bed - was the size of Gujarat
We liked the location - not everyone would, it’s a 15-20 walk from the main hotel but you get to take in the old town en route with all its noises, commotion and dirt which we enjoyed
Balcony with hinchco Bedroom furniture eclectic mix of traditional and IKEA like self assembly - would be better sticking to the old only or investing in better modern designed complementary pieces
Blackout curtains
No breakfast and hard to find in surroundings surprisingly
- Justice (1/5): Bad - the staff at reception could not even guide me to reach the hotel only. pathetic staff.
- Prashant (6/5): Location is misinterpreted. - Good rooms , good staff Booking at House of MG but they took to some other location after check in congested streets at other haveli. It's not right
- Nipun (8/5): Very good - Room size
Location near wholesale market Cost
- Vikas (8/5): Very good - Room facilities Location
- Sarah (9/5): So great! - Very cute hotel set in very interesting surrounds. You have to check in at the main hotel and get a tuk tuk to the Haveli, which was easy enough. The staff at check in were amazing. We were early so they let us store our bags and get lunch and do a tour of the city before returning later at night to properly check in. Overall a very positive experience - I’m just sad we were only there for 1 night!!
- Mr. (10/5): Exceptional - Historic hotel, located in the old town and in walking distance to sights..very friendly staff, the room was very good and with a lovely terasse-i had the Junior suite) loved it being a guest. nothing…perfect stay.
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional -

- Navodit (10/5): Value of money, it’s the people at the property who are making all the difference - Rahul is a Superman, from our checkin to checkout almost 50 hrs at the property he was always available with a smile.
In the next trips if I am booking the hotel again it’s only because of Rahul.
Rajesh hi and a senior person were also kind and warm in interactions.
All in all - a recommended place for all family travellers. Not sure if there is anything. However, would expect some prompt response before checkin on the booking.com messenger
- Saravana (1/5): Difficult location. Exaggerated property - Hotel has got some relics and some remnants of old era but nothing close to heritage. Slightly exaggerated from what is advertised. Location is in such a place that commuting, travel to and from hotel is a nightmare. No car or auto rickshaw guys would like to come here as it is highly chocked with traffic at all times. There's no place left to even walk. Our cab guy dropped midway and we had to walk all the way with luggage.
Not a traveller / neighbor friendly area are people are grossed in their businesses and don't even bother to reply or help.
Refreshments are not available at this place, as announced, to go out and have even a cup of tea is a nightmare. No food delivery guys will deliver here.
Heritage tours start from 10 pm, for obvious reasons, and you can see only dark walls and silhouettes.
- Yamamoto (10/5): Comfortable room. - It's tastefully kept clean.
Understanding staff.
The breakfast place at House of MG is heals mood and the food also very good. We have to go to House of MG 10 min by rickshaw to breakfast, but its Ok the price was set a little reasonably.
- Agam (7/5): Good - The location is in a crowded area as was expected.
But we were stuck in our rooms on the 1st day due to a religious festival which caused the roads to be barricaded. The hotel did not us give any advance warning about the same.
Also the crowds during the evenings are much more than we expected making it difficult to even walk

- Gopal (10/5): It wasn't just a stay, it was a Journey Through Time and Tranquility - You would be transported to a bygone era, where every intricate detail of its architecture whispered tales of a rich and storied past.Amidst this embrace of history, there was an undeniable serenity that enveloped the haveli. The tranquil terrace, with a beautiful jhoola, became my sanctuary, a place where I could retreat from the hustle of modern life and find solace in the embrace of a slower pace. It was more than a stay; it was a journey through time, a communion with the past, and a reminder of the enduring beauty that can be found in the union of architecture and nature. Nothing!!!
- Vineet (10/5): - The Haveli is located in the busy area of old Ahmedabad. It is nicely maintained and has all the modern amenities. Rooms are airy, well, spacious, and spotlessly clean. Mukesh and Rahul manage the property and provide excellent services to the guests. While the dining options at the property are limited, a tuk-tuk ride will take you to the House of MG, the parent branch of this property, which has excellent restaurants (perhaps, the best in the town). The breakfast ride is provided by the hotel free of cost! Other facilities, such as the gym and the swimming pool at the House of MG, are also accessible to the guests staying at the Haveli. I had a lovely stay overall!
- Chawda (7/5): Good -
- Paurnima (9/5): Superb - Liked the heritage property.
Like the food from The house of MG from their main restaurent The location, no one called n guided us initially, we had to walk with kids and luggage to find it from gullys
- Venkat (5/5): Passable -
- Geir (10/5): Fabulous setting right in the old town -
- Jeffrey (8/5): Loved staying here--in the middle of the old city. - Great location if you want to be in the Old City. Accommodations are comfortable. Staff wonderfully attentive, Have to go to another facility for breakfast via transportation provided by the hotel (one-way) . Not everything worked all the time--but staff more than accommodating to fix.
- Jeffrey (5/5): Mediocre facilty for the price, but in the middle of the Old City, so location is great. - breakfast at the other facility was good. Staff very helpful. If you want to be in the Old Town, this is. Breakfast at another facility more than a mile away. Safe didn't work in my room--refrigerator and tea kettle in my friends. Linens weren't clean. English not spoken well.
- Hariharan (7/5): Good - Not a ideal place for work related visit. Nice place if you are a tourist and interested in knowing the old city. Difficult to find the place. Cars cannot reach the place.
Had to travel 2 kms to MG House for breakfast
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Themis (9/5): Superb - Extraordinarily beautiful property with lots of character. The Haveli is located a 10 min rickshaw drive from the main hotel (note to other guests to check in to House of MG, not the Haveli), and is a beautifully restored property in the middle of the old town. The rooms are big, spacious and artfully decorated. The bustling market is just walking distance away. The staff at the main hotel were great, arranging an amazing last minute tour of Ahmedabad and surroundings. The breakfast in the main hotel can be improved, especially the service which was chaotic for 2 days. The buffet is not replenished fast, it takes 10-20 minutes to find someone to set the table. There is a lot of staff members but there does not seem to be someone organising them to help the guests. For a hotel of this caliber, this is something that can definitely be improved.
- Deepak (8/5): Amazing stay at a Traditional, Gujarati Haveli - Staff is very friendly, always a helping hand, thanks to Rahul. Absolutely neat and clean rooms.
Good to reach ""The House of MG" first and look for Auto rickshaw (offered by Hotel also at no cost) for drive to Haveli.
Enjoy street food at adjoining Manak Chok starting 10pm. Being in heart of the city, expect crowd during in and out from the Hotel. Provision a bit extra time.
- Sharon (9/5): Superb -
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Preeti (8/5): My friends and me had a great stay with this property - I loved the character of not just the room but of the entire property. Altho a very small property it had a lovely heritage feel about it Kitchen services need improvement and the location is central but inconvenient to access
- Ranjitha (6/5): Pleasant - Location wise, this is completely personal choice. It is right in between the market area. It is really nice to see the lifestyle of people within the walled city of old times! However, it is quite noisy as well. The property is very close Manek chowk with excellent choice of street food.
Property wise: Staff and hotel policies are very good. We came in at 9AM and they gave us the room as it was not occupied, without any extra charge. Any information was given without much effort. Staff is very approachable. Property is tidy. One big drawback is that the breakfast is not served in the restaurant. We had to travel 2 kilometres to the main hotel. The breakfast spread in the main hotel is very good, but it is an effort especially with the kids. Even checkout happens at the main hotel.
Reaching the hotel is a challenge. Although you are just 10 mins away from the railway station, you must take an auto. Cabs cannot reach this property. If you head out anywhere in Ahmedabad, heading back to the property is a challenge since almost all autos avoid driving in the tiny lanes of Manek Chowk. One auto left us 500m away from the property as the roads were jammed due to Sunday market.
- Vrv (10/5): Exceptional -
- Naresh (8/5): Very good -
- Martand (9/5): Superb -
- Sunil (2/5): - They have three properties, be care full which on you are booking.
Location is pathetic. Old Ahmedabad with very narrow lanes where car cannot go. dirty area.
Food is very costly compare to proportion they serve.
Not good for business trip.
- sagar (10/5): - Excellent service! Surrounding area is very old and highly populated.
