- Venture470883 (10/5): Honeymoon at Ritz Charlton - It was our first visit to the Ritz Charlton in Koh Samui and to say that we were impressed is an understatement. The staff and service was unreal and they could not have been more accommodating, in particular the head of food and beverage Ping who made our trip very special. The rooms were spacious and clean with a large terrace and pool, which was secluded from the other villas. The restaurants provided some of the best Thai and Indian food we've ever tasted and the Michelin steak house is also an absolute must, if you enjoy a good fillet and some great red wine. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who loves to be around great welcoming staff and first class service. Mr Luke & Mrs Ali

- TDT (8/5): Great resort, but F&B offering could be better - The Ritz Carlton is a beautiful and very large resort. We had a two bedroom terrace suite and were very impressed. It was very large and impeccably set out and equipped - it appeared pretty much brand new. Housekeeping were excellent. In fact, all of the staff we came across were very helpful and friendly. The spa was nice (though its standard 5 star pricing and you can get a great massage anywhere in town for a fraction of that). Both pools were superb. The only thing that needs a bit more thought (in my humble opinion) is the F&B offering. Breakfast was great, as was dinner at Rai and room service. But there is only one restaurant open for lunch (and the food quality and service wasn’t great). And very little that is Thai. They have a Thai street market themed buffet once or twice a week but it is way overpriced (£100 per head before drinks etc) and as a result lacked much atmosphere. And they also have a good steakhouse - but I dont travel to somewhere like Samui to get a £100 piece of steak to be honest. And only one of the bars was operational when we tried (the one without the sea view). So we ended up eating out a lot (and there are a number of great places with better atmosphere to eat within striking distance - both independent and at other 5 star hotels). It wasn’t terrible by any means, but given the standard of the rest of the offering it just felt like it had been overlooked a little.

- alexjN3547TN (8/5): Peace, quiet and relaxation - Incredible stay for our baby moon! We stayed in the ultimate ocean front villa which exceeded expectations. The villa itself had everything we needed and the views from our pool were breathtaking taking. We met a lovely staff member, Golf, who tended to our room. There was also no issue with making several requests throughout the day whether it was room service, ice bucket requests, or buggy requests (resort is huge). Breakfast was great with many options. Our favourite dinner restaurant was Pak Thai. I would give Sea Breeze a miss (very underwhelming). Pretty expensive to keep eating at the hotel so many people take a Grab or shuttle to Fishermans village for dinner which was a highlight for us. Easy to access both locations only 10-15 minutes away. I cannot recommend the spa enough.. yes we had plenty of massages in town but the hotel spa was another level. Pen was my masseuse and was incredible! Overall the resort is a slice of paradise, and everyone who works there is amazing. We had a truly relaxing experience.

The massage therapists (Saow and Som) made both of our spa experiences (we had services on 2 different days) very special and set the bar high for any massages we get from now on. Please make sure you request them specifically—you will not be disappointed. I wish they worked at a spa near our home in the US! Saan also took great care of us with delicious refreshments in our relaxed state after our massages. Everything at the Ritz Carlton and Spa Village Koh Samui was best of the best. Room was beautiful and very well attended to. Resort has its own beautiful, private beach. All dining experiences were some of the best we have had. Everyone taking care of us was so friendly and beautiful.

- Christian (10/5): Super, immer wieder! - Wir sind froh das Ritz Carlton gebucht zu haben. Leider ziehen wir morgen schon wieder weiter nach fünf Nächten. Es gibt an diesem Hotel (fast) nichts auszusetzen. Die Zimmer sind super geräumig und lassen sich durch zwei Schiebetüren in einzelne Bereiche trennen (Wohnbereich, Schlafbereich und Badezimmer). Wenn man die Logik der Schalter erkundet hat, kann man auch überall das Licht an- und ausschalten. Es gibt zwei Bereiche, die unabhängig von einander klimatisiert werden können. Wohnbereich und Schalfbereich. Der Terrassenbereich ist ordentlich groß. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist Reisig und es sollte für jeden etwas dabei sein. Ich werde mein morgendliches Rührei mit Zwiebeln vermissen. Die Servicekräfte sind zuvorkommend. Baggies sind jederzeit verfügbar und bringen einen im Ressort von A nach B. Ein Anruf in der Rezeption genügt und spätestens nach fünf Minuten war ein Baggie da! Alles in Allem würden wir das Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen, wenn wir Koh Samui besuchen. Einzig und allein die Gäste am Pool, die meinen für drei Leute könnte man vier Liegen reservieren, haben uns genervt. Wenn wir um neun vom Frühstück kamen, waren bereits liegen mit Getränkeflaschen oder anderen Habseligkeiten reserviert. Hier würde ich als Management einen Riegel vorschieben, wie wir es im Mövenpick in Vietnam erlebt haben. Eine Stunde Liege nicht besetzt, dann wird die durch das Personal die Liege freigemacht.

First time I got a facial like this and loved it. Recommanded my family and friends. Didnt like the thai street food taste for the price not worth it. Some of the items were precooked and kept which didnt ghave the fresh taste. Very dry items. The service was slow not upto the mark. As for our room everything was good except the bathroom in the basin area was hot. No AC air was there. The breakfast area was overall hot. Fans are too slow to get any air. The decorations of the resturants could be better. I liked the Ritz in Langkawi better in some areas.

- Clive (8/5): Great stay but a bit weird in some aspects of the service. - Great location No decent lunch time restaurants, their beach restaurant was the only thing open and that was more like a snack bar, so we had to leave the hotel if we wanted a decent lunch. Also the main bars don’t open until 18:00 so if your restaurant table was booked for 18:00 there was know where to get a drink before hand. If you had breakfast in your room you had to pay in full again even if breakfast was included in the room rate.

- Ádám (10/5): - Nagyon tetszett a szálloda elhelyezkedése kisgyerekes családként nagyon örültünk neki hogy a kids clubban a személyzet valóban foglalkozott és játszott a gyerekkel nemcsak a tévét mutatták neki. A medence hatalmas volt nagyon jó volt a hőmérséklete és szinte végig üres volt. Jókat lehet benne úszni. Az éttermek és az ételek rendkívül finomak voltak a személyzet mindenhol kimagaslóan kedves volt velünk.

Although we didn’t book a villa with a private pool, we were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a beautiful sea view room upon arrival. The room was immaculate, elegant, and comfortable, and we loved waking up to ocean views and birdsong each morning. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, offering a wide selection of Thai and international dishes in a lovely setting. We also really appreciated the daily Appreciation Hour from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., where guests can enjoy the “cocktail of the night” — a thoughtful and relaxing touch before dinner. One of the highlights of our evenings was dining at Sea Breeze restaurant, where we enjoyed not only great food but also the fire show by the beach — such a magical way to end the day. Though the resort is spread out, buggy service was prompt and efficient. We loved the peaceful, tucked-away location, which made it easy to unwind and truly disconnect. The staff throughout the resort are friendly and very accommodating. It’s a big resort and it can be busy in areas like the breakfast buffet, pool and pool bar. Staff do their best to accommodate to so many people. Location is a bit isolated but the resort is designed to not leave.

- 528traceyi (10/5): Perfect Stay with Remarkable Personal Touches - We stayed with family to celebrate my 60th birthday, and from the moment we arrived the hotel staff went above and beyond to turn the entire week into one continuous celebration. No opportunity was missed — at breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even in our room — to surprise me with cakes, singing, and beautifully decorated leaves with “Happy Birthday” written on them. It genuinely felt as though every single staff member knew and remembered my birthday throughout the week. Even my sister, who joined us for the celebration, received a thoughtful card thanking her for choosing to stay at the hotel for my birthday. It’s these small, personal gestures that make such a big difference, and they truly made me feel incredibly special. There are far too many staff members to single out, as every interaction was marked by exceptional service. However, I would like to mention Tanzi, the hotel manager, who was always happy to stop for a chat and check that everything was perfect. My spa facial was outstanding — not only was the treatment itself sublime, but sharing the experience with my daughter in the same room made it even more memorable. Running a luxury hotel of this size cannot be easy, especially given the high (and sometimes unreasonable!) expectations of some guests — something we witnessed firsthand. The staff handled every situation with remarkable calm, professionalism, and respect. Our room was exceptional in both size and amenities — we couldn’t have asked for more (aside from the unexpected tree snake that almost fell on me as I stepped outside one day!). Thank you to everyone who made our stay truly unforgettable. It exceeded all expectations, and we will absolutely return and wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to others.

Especially front desk, breakfast, pool and meals…so just about everyone!! As an Ambassador elite, status was respected. Must use golf carts to get around the entire property. The design of several buildings is just plain odd. It’s a tough thing to change but we found the fengshui of the property to be off otherwise it would be top tier. Lots of great restaurant choices. Hotel is in a great location in the island.

- elenisc2018 (10/5): A perfect Ritz holiday - Staying at the Ritz-Carlton Koh Samui this December was an one of a kind experience. Besides the resort being extraordinary fabulous in every aspect, the service was definetly the highlight of the whole holiday. It was the cherry on top. Me(29F) and my mother (54F) were guests for 9 lavish nights in room 314, PAI building number 3 at the Ritz-Carlton Koh Samui. From the very start we were taken aback by this picture perfect resort. Cham, from the front desk, presented us our room, a very nice suite with a living area, a bedroom, a luxurious bathroom and a generous terrace and explained everything about the resort. The room has everything you need including flip flops and a beach bag, mosquito spray and after sun aloe vera lotion and it was spotless and restocked everytime they made our room. The resort is built on an extensive land plot, so a buggy service is available at every hour. They operate very good. A few from the ones that we met on the buggies are Nick and Milo, and of course Phon on the chuchu, and they are all very welcoming, with a big smile and ready to take you everywhere you want even if you are just walking on the sidewalk. We had breakfast everyday at the Shook restaurant and lunch/snacks sometimes and Sea Breeze by the pool and dinner at Pak Tai. For breakfast there is a good variety of foods, everything is fresh and of good quality. They even make their bread and pastries in house, so be without fear because the food is excellent. I could say so many nice words about the hotel, but almost every 5 star is elegant and luxurious. We have travelled in 32 countries so far and always stayed at 5 stars hotels as Marriott, Intercontinental, Hyatt, Sofitel etc. you already know what to expect from them. As I said in the first paragraph the service and the people working in the hotel are the cherry on top of this “cake”. They are all very kind, helpful and sincere. Everything is well organized that they even know where you are during the day and in this way they anticipated our needs without even mentioning it. For example sending you a boogie for the transfer to the city that you have for a certain hour or for the yoga class that you have in the morning. Waiting to get you to your room as soon as you returned to the hotel even with a bolt. Having your favourite tabel set for you for breakfast. In my point of view that’s the ultimate luxury. And this is all possible because the people there make it possible. It’s because at the reception there are Cham and View and Khun Mohd Nazrul, the assistant front office manager, who knows how to organize all of this and make you feel so welcomed by sending sweets so you have a surprise when you get back to the room during the night. Or organize for you to have a late check-out so you can enjoy your last day at the pool in peace. It’s also because at Shook you have Maya and Jel who are sweethearts and get you to your table and after it they move you to the one of the Cabanas when there are free because they know you like to eat there, and after that they set a table for you at the bar because they have noticed you always go there with your coffee and pastry to have a smoke. It’s because there’s Kaupan who even thought it’s a rookie brings your favourite coffee at the end, or Bela who sets and cleans the tables for you. It’s also because they have a great manager, Khun Sompote Panya, known by guests as Ping, who is so attentive to everything around him, who is not afraid to get dirty and helps and leads his team around. He has seen that my mother loves mango and we had fresh cut mango everyday on our table at breakfast, even when he was on his day off. It’s because at the pool we had Mar who got us 2 towels my person everytime he saw us because he knew we used one as a pillow, or Ticky and Aof who got us our drinks and food and brought us smile. It’s also because they had Khun Nino, who also showed great leadership skills. We also had the pleasure to meet Misses Tanzie Wong, the general manager and had a chat. I had to let her know what a great team she leads, and how well organized everything is and how safe and pampered we felt. We didn’t feel like staying in a 5 star hotel, but as in very luxurious home, like it was our home. After everything here is not a surprise I wept on my last day there, because I am going to miss seeing everybody, because it’s the people that make the magic happen. Chapeau to you all. God is in the details and even if perfection is unattainable, I can say this was an perfect holiday and I have recommended the Ritz-Carlton Koh Samui, especially for the exceptional service, to everybody since I got back home. We will for sure be back in the near future!

Had a MUCH better experience with the 6 senses resort. I paid for a room for 3. Kept providing us everything for 2: towels, cups, etc. very annoying, Everything needs to be done by calling reception (calling for a ride, booking a taxi, asking for towels, etc.). The resort's restaurants are over priced beyond rip off.

My fiancee and I did the deluxe songkran experience which felt perfect for our engagement trip. We were given delicious snacks and drinks after the treatment in a quiet area.
- dirinab (2/5): Very disappointing - not worthy of the Ritz Carlton name - Unfortunately, our stay at The Ritz-Carlton Koh Samui is a big disappointment and far from what one would expect from a Ritz-Carlton property. First of all, the service is absolutely not 5-star level. Staff are often inattentive, make frequent mistakes with orders, and lack the level of professionalism and anticipation you normally associate with this brand. At restaurants, orders were incorrect more than once, drinks were forgotten, and basic attentiveness was missing. The pool and beach area are particularly disappointing. The furniture looks extremely old and worn — rattan loungers that feel like they are 30 years old. The entire area feels neglected rather than luxurious. It is also visibly untidy, with hoses and equipment lying around, which completely ruins the atmosphere. This is not what one expects when paying Ritz-Carlton prices. Food is very expensive for Thailand, yet the quality does not justify the pricing at all. Considering the cost, the food was mediocre at best and certainly not memorable. Breakfast was another major letdown. The breakfast restaurant feels more like a canteen than a luxury hotel dining room. It is loud, uncomfortably hot, and poorly organized. Orders are forgotten, and waiting 15 minutes for a simple espresso is not unusual. There is no sense of warmth, attention to detail, or thoughtful design — it feels functional and chaotic rather than refined or welcoming. Another major downside is the lack of a proper adults-only pool. The only option is the spa pool, but it comes without any real service. You might get a glass of water if you explicitly ask, but otherwise there is no poolside service at all — again, very far from a luxury experience. The only positive aspect of this hotel is the room itself. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, and well designed. Unfortunately, that is where the positives end. Overall, this hotel does not feel like a Ritz-Carlton in any way — neither in service, atmosphere, nor attention to detail. It is truly a shame to spend precious vacation time here. We would not recommend this hotel and would not return.
