- Carina (9/5): Chill vibe, nice staff - Chill vibe, nice breakfast, nice privat room Some rooms are a big loud since the Roof is Covered with a plastic Panel and Cats (and other animals) are Running over it during the night. Nobodys fault, but still Important to say

- Mbita (9/5): I had a great stay there! - The staff there were super helpful! The dorms are super quiet, which was a surprise cause I expected atleast someone talking on their phones - but all the guests were so respectful. The bathrooms were clean.

- Jana (7/5): - The hostel is in a good location and has a nice communal seating area. It is possible to use the kitchen although some areas are for hostel staff only. Our room felt a bit stuffy and could use a better cleaning especially the bathroom. One evening it rained heavily and it rained into our room. The staff were not very motivated to help but after some insisting we could sleep in another room for one night. The next night it luckily did not rain, so I don't know if the roof issue was fixed. The room was also quite dark and noisy.

- samantha (9/5): Book it!! - A little gem in Antigua! Located in quiet area of town away from hustle and bustle so depends if you want tranquility or nightclub vibes. Staff incredble and so friendly. Kitchen very well stocked equipment, very good cooker. Garden beautiful and tables hidden around nice to focus on work or a book. Social area to hang out and speak to people. Very well stocked snacks and drinks, and menu available for meals all day. 9/10! Loses a mark for showers not clean. Toilets were cleaned but showers we not. There was a ball of hair stuck to the wall of shower for my entire stay 5 days. But in general all the positives outweigh this negative and I would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends.

- Marjolein (7/5): Basic room in friendly Hostal with garden - Very helpful staff who speak English. Good location: close to the center. Quiet. Garden where you can sit outside. You can store your luggage if you are climbing Acatenango. Room itself was basic and very small. Shared showers did not have any privacy. Price was too high, also because of Easter.
- Isabel (8/5): Perfect location and lovely staff. - The staff was really helpful and the shared space was very cosy and pleasant.
- Adrian (3/5): Very disappointing, if staying here make sure to ask for any room other than number 1. - Lovely courtyard, nice location. We had room number one. In my opinion, this room should not be allowed to be on sites like booking until it has been sufficiently renovated. The en-suite bathroom is absolutely disgusting, with extremely pungent odours coming from it. Furthermore, upon arrival, the dehumidifier unit in the room was leaking all over the floor.
The WiFi was terrible and barely worked for the whole stay. For the price we paid and considering these issues, we left very disappointed with this property and our stay.
- JiaHe (8/5): Nice hostel with friendly staff, worth the money - The location is quiet at night, a lot of vegetation make the patio comfortable despite the hot weather. Friendly staff and provide a lot of activities and shuttle option with reasonable price. The share dorm room could use a fan for better ventilation. Shower could be improve with more stable hot water.
Eau chaude intermittente
- Elizabeth (9/5): Sweet hostel in great location - Fantastic location. I had a private room and bathroom. Fantastic. Quiet, helpful staff and a great location. Loved it. Super close to walking up the hill for a great view over the city and close to all key sites in the old city. Inexpensive and good value. I didn't eat breakfast there as there is a wonderful garden cafe 1 min walk in the same street which is lovely for good coffee and food. Hot water was a little temperamental and loo leaked.

- Estrada (9/5): - Muy bonito Incluir desayuno

- Josephine (8/5): Gorgeous place but unreliable showers - The Location was good and even though it was a 12 person dorm(!) it wasn’t too loud due to the setup of the beds. The yard was absolutely stunning and the breakfast was yummy (you have to pay for it though). Free Coffee for Breakfast! When I arrived there was no water in the showers and later only cold water. It happens quite often and frequently that they run out of hot water

- Ariadna M. (9/5): - El patio es bonito y cómodo
- Daniela (10/5): -
- Fabian M (9/5): - Limpieza y ambiente agradable Todo muy bien
- Rosa (8/5): -
- Dieuwertje (9/5): - I really liked the quiet atmosphere and the room was cool and comfortable! Staff also very friendly!

- Ting-Yi (7/5): - Bed is comfortable and felt private with the curtains, staff are super nice and helpful. Shower and bathroom facilities are old and dirty, shower hot water will stopped every 5 minutes, was too pricey for the value.
- Madison (10/5): My Favorite in Antigua - Of the 4 hostels I stayed in in Antigua, this one was my favorite especially because of the comfortable beds and kitchen. The 1st place I stayed had a kitchen, but springs on the bed hurt me. The 2nd place had a good bed, but no kitchen and food in Antigua is pricey so I ended up spending more than I wanted. The 3rd place had a kitchen, but the bed was too short and squishy. This place is a bit farther from the center, but the bed was perfect and had a privacy curtain, and they had a kitchen and hot water showers. Location is a bit far from center, but it's otherwise an easy and safe walk.
- Elisa (8/5): - Kind personnel
Good vibe in the Hostel
Well positionned
Feel safe Quality of the private room / price
Wi-Fi not working very well in the room
Personnel talking loud at 6am

- Thomas (9/5): - Nice atmosphere, classy look and helpful staff - a great hostal!
- laura (8/5): -
Eau chaude, wifi, eau potable, propreté, cuisine bien équipée, serviette mise a disposition gratuitement

- Ilias (9/5): -
- Joscelyne (10/5): Cozy Hostel - This hostel was the perfect home while in Antigua. Quiet next to a park and easy walking to the main center of town. Staff were lovely and amenities cozy.
- Misty (10/5): - Erin was very clean. Shower had great pressure. Staff was super nice and constantly cleaning. Convenient to walk everywhere.
- Antonio (9/5): - La atencion y el jardin
- Miren Itziar (10/5): Perfecto!
- Shawndara (4/5): If you are a no-frills, just need a room and a non-private shower kind of person this place is fine. - They did not have any private rooms available for my whole stay (3 nights), so I booked a room with a shared bath just before leaving Lake Atitlán, since it sounded like a good place to stay, based on a recommendation, and I figured it would be fine.
The bed was decently comfortable, and the room seemed clean. Hard to tell because it was very rustic.
The breakfast was OK. I opted for the pancakes and fruit, and they were good, but nothing special.
They offer coffee, but only powdered milk if you don't take it black. NOTE for all places in Guatemala, not just this one: If you haven't already paid in full, ALWAYS ask to see the room before completing payment, especially if using a credit card. When I arrived, I should have asked to see the room before paying the balance. I was in the midst of a really miserable head cold, and after sitting in the room for about 10 minutes, it was clear that it wasn't going to work for me. I went immediately back to the front desk to ask if I could cancel some or all of my stay. I won't go into all the back and forth, but basically, he said that because they didn't know how to operate the credit card machine, they couldn't provide any refund (full or partial) for the unused days. So their incompetence was the only reason I couldn't get a refund. I had no issue with forfeiting the first night and moving along, but no dice. They did switch me to a room with a private bath for the first night, said I could check into another hotel for the second night, and then return to the private room on the third night for the same price I had already paid for three nights. Just what I want to do when I am sick, pack up and move every night. I ended up staying there the first night only because I was exhausted from traveling from Panajachel, and so that it wouldn't be a complete $ loss. I left the next day and moved to another hostel for the last two nights.
Some of the shared toilets were a step above an outhouse. They are covered, but outdoors, adjacent to the garden area. The stalls are open at the top and bottom, and sit about 8 inches above ground level, so they don't feel super private.
One of the walls in my room was not solid, consisting of planks stacked on top of each other, so you can hear everything in the next room. The couple in the next room was up before 6 am, laughing and singing loudly. I don't begrudge anyone a good time, but a little common courtesy is always nice.
- Adria (8/5): -
- Melymont (6/5): - .
- Riccardo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hai (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vera (8/5): Very good -
- Carlinha (7/5): Good -
- Alex (4/5): Poorly insulated rooms, impossible to sleep, never again - Good location, shower worked well, and comfy bed, host tried to help move to different room but it would not have made that much difference It was impossible to sleep for 3 nights due to extremely poor insulation where I can hear other guests talk in their rooms in normal voice very late into the night (not even loud), and room near shared shower/bathroom meant constant noise
- Niall (7/5): Good -
- Rodriguez (9/5): Superb - The staff was nice, the room was big and quite comfortable (you get used to the mattress eventually).
The showers are perfect, hot/cold with really good pressure.
The kitchen was good The wifi didn’t really work in the room which was a bit annoying at times but that’s all
- Aline (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tina (9/5): Superb - Room was okay. It was small, but just enough for us and our one night stay. It was really loud at night, i suppose some cats were jumping and fighting on the roof.
What i would like to praise is that they offer a shower for 15GTQ per person to take a shower. That was sooo wanted and needed after returning from Acatenango/Fuego tour
- Andrea (9/5): Best little hostel in Antigua :) family vibes! - The staff are helpful and super friendly, the coffee is tasty, the kitchen access really came in handy, the location is excellent, and it truly felt like home 💕 The light in my capsule bunk was SO BRIGHT! I would've preferred a softer, warmer light (like some of the other bunks had) so I could read and wind-down better. Also, the blanket was kind of itchy. But overall it was a great find and great stay!
- Luciana (8/5): Very good - I’ve stayed in four different hostels across Guatemala, and this one was by far the best! Jorge, Cristian, and Mariela were always incredibly helpful, kind, and welcoming. I had an issue with my bed when I arrived, but they quickly found a solution and made sure I was comfortable.
The hostel is surrounded by lush greenery, with plenty of open-air spaces to relax, listen to the birds, and simply be present. It was such a peaceful and refreshing experience — truly a little oasis.
I highly recommend staying here. You’ll feel right at home! It’s a bit far from the city center.
- Miroslav (9/5): Superb -
- Bethany (10/5): Exceptional - It has everything you need. Social without being a party hostel, nice kitchen, and good (paid) breakfast. Beds were comfortable, I just wish the dorm room had a fan. Within walking distance of anything you'd want to see in town. Didn't try to book anything, but they seem to have a tour/shuttle information available. Great staff and hot water showers. The bathrooms are a little rustic but did the job. Getting up to pee in the middle of the night is a hassle, but at least you never smell the toilets from your room!
- Breanna (7/5): Good -
- Erick (9/5): Superb -
- Pei-hua (8/5): Very good -
- Marcia (9/5): I had a nice stay here, room was clean and nice atmosphere in the common area. - Very cute property with a nice courtyard, separate room with its own bathroom Wall are thin and I could hear everything from my room. There were also fireworks going off until almost midnight, which I know is not the properties fault, but it was pretty loud.
- Philip (8/5): Great hostel - Lovely courtyard, quiet location, sociable, helpful staff No soundproofing in the rooms. Especially room 9 next to shared bathrooms.
- Ane (7/5): Good -
- Gregosh (10/5): Exceptional - beautifully maintained, great socialising are, very comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. very friendly and helpful staff
- Reagan (2/5): Very poor -
- Marta (10/5): Comfortable place with nice common areas - Great place to stay at. I think the best one with dormitories-there are nk bunk beds but cabins, so you can't feel while other people are getting into bed. No noisy lockers inside the rooms as well. Well equipped kitchen and attentive, friendly staff. Laundry service on site. Right outside of the center
- Ipek (8/5): Good for short stays, amazing staff and very cute! - I only stayed for one evening and it was really cute! Never slept in a capsule bed before but it was actually really comfortable and everyone had a plug, the wifi was great and there are several bathrooms and there are several seating opportunities outside to just chill and read, sleep, talk to others etc.
There is a kitchen that you can use as well and it seemed like it had everything you might need!
The staff is super friendly and accommodating and quick with replies! Since there were around 8 people in my dorm it got a little loud in the morning when they left but it was honestly not bad, bring ear plugs and since you have a curtain you can definitely sleep in!
Lockers are outside of the room so you need to make sure to only have your main things in the room with you. Again, not necessarily a bad thing but might be good to know!
- Jason (10/5): Quality stay - Great location in Antigua and only 5 min walk to central square. Nice public park right next door.
Hostel is well run and organised with lovely plant filled central courtyard where fellow travellers mix and mingle. Good kitchen and showers. WiFi seemed fine for my needs. My bed in the dorm was clearly old and had a dip in the middle of the mattress so felt like sleeping on the base board and not the best sleeps I’ve had. Could do with either new mattress or turning over.
- Brianna (9/5): Lovely garden and good wifi! - Overall I enjoyed my stay at Hostal Antigueno - the location is a short walk from the central park and I walked each day. The grounds are really lovely with lots of plants and places to sit. You could tell its a really great hostel for meeting other people as everyone seemed friendly and excited to talk about their volcano experiences. I worked remotely and found wifi to be great and had no issues. Bathrooms were kept clean and showers had hot water. You have to walk outside to get to them so I would bring a sweater or jacket as it can get a bit chilly.
There is a FANTASTIC and inexpensive pupuseria around the corner from the hostel (I think its where El Carbonero is showing up on the map) - highly recommend the pupusas. The revueltas ones (the best ones) are only 9 quetzals each. Most of the staff were really great. The one we had for check-in wasn't super helpful and told us to 'google it' when we asked him about local tours and experiences. We never had food at the hostel and were never told the details on whether you could order food there or not.
I stayed in one of the private rooms and at least twice a day there was a loud bang on the roof above me and loud sounds of someone/something walking - maybe it was a big dog or someone doing maintenance?
There's also a ton of loud fireworks that will sometimes wake you up at random times at night and in the morning but truthfully I dont know if you can escape this anywhere in Antigua.
