It was a little difficult to find, however once you see the accommodation is behind a locked Gates it is understandable. The owner was with us within five minutes of Us arriving.

• Beate (10/5): Zentrales Apartment mit Blick auf den Ätna - Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Lage ist wunderbar, wir hatten das Apartment mit der Dachterrasse mit Blick auf den Ätna, ein Traum. Die Wohnung war sehr großzügig, ein sehr großes Schlafzimmer, ebenso ein großes Badezimmer. Alles da bei der Einrichtung, was man braucht. Am Anfang gab es ein kleines Problem, das hat der Vermieter sofort persönlich in Ordnung gebracht. Er kam sehr schnell und hat alles geregelt. Super Service! Nichts wirklich negatives.

Cold water and wine are ready for us in the fridge. Unfortunately, we had no water for the first night. The owner was notified and came right away to investigate the issue, but the water was ok at this time. Shortly after he left, there was no water again. The next morning, he managed to ge water going. some issues with the wifi were experienced, and the owner was notified.
• Filip (10/5): Central location with comfortable beds, if you like total silence maybe take precautions. - Comfortable beds - always important from me and the room can be placed in total darkness. Very classy and fancy, especially if you like old time style: central location (beach 20-30 minutes walk, cathedral 5-6 minutes, fish market 2 minutes). Very professional host, ingenious technology for entering and exiting. Clean all around! If you like total peace and quiet take earplugs - even with closed windows traffic can be heard although this is not a central thoroughfare.

• Robert (10/5): A relaxing and cheerful New Year's Eve stay in Catania. - This is an excellent base for exploring Catania and the rooftop terrace is wonderful. There are great shops and bakeries and eateries nearby, and there is a safe, enclosed courtyard for parking if you're traveling by car. We struggled with getting a strong wifi signal the whole time we stayed there and did not get much technical support with that.

• leel (7/5): - La posizione della casa è ottima a 200 metri dalla Pescheria e 300 dal Duomo, comoda per muoversi nella Catania turistica e per i mezzi pubblici, a 200 m di distanza anche dalla fermata dell'Alibus (il bus per l'aeroporto), lo stabile è molto datato ma per questo suggestivo,l'arredamento dell'appartamento è un misto di '800 siciliano ed Ikea, ma la parte dell'800 fa la sua figura, l'owner è stata disponibile a risolvere i piccoli problemi durante il soggiorno, il riscaldamento è con termosifoni e non con l'aria forzata dei condizionatori cosa che d'inverno fa la differenza. Irritante scoprire che il parcheggio dell'auto lo avrei pagato 20 euro e non 10 come indicato sul sito e come confermatomi anche in un messaggio di conferma del prezzo del posto macchina che avevo inviato 3 giorni prima della partenza, poi per problemi di noleggio auto la necessità non si è concretizzata ma rimane il fatto che la cosa non mi è piaciuta. poi la pulizia per noi insufficiente, ma vista con la media catanese visibile in loco forse è sufficiente.

• Sofia (7/5): The apartment needs some renovation, and new stuff, it is impossible to take money for such an old and dusty clobber. - The stunning view A lot of stuff, not necessary at all, and dusty enough above all. There were no bedding for the sofa in the living room, all the blankets and pillows were very old, the ceramics in the bathroom was full of limescale, the tap of the shower is out of order, it fells off every time we were using it. In the kitchen the cutting board was disgusting. The TV in the living room was very old without internet connection, or may be we were not informed. Above all, there is a fish market near by, and all the smell was near by as well. The most uncomfortable thing was when your get into the apartment , you need to take out the key, lock the door in the darkness, because you switch ON the lights WITH THE same KEY-nightmare!

• Eva (9/5): - Das Appartement ist grosszügig und sehr gut ausgestattet mit Küche, Terrasse, Schlafzimmer und Badezimmer. Die Lage ist sehr zentral, in der Nähe der Busstation. Die Altstadt und der Fischmarkt sind in wenigen Minuten zu Fuss erreichbar. Die Matraze ist etwas durchgelegen, ansonsten war alles top!
• Kostas (5/5): Passable - The appartments are located in a very central place of Catania and a lot of places for food and drink, as well as some beautiful squares are accessible on foot. Unfotunately the appartments were well below expectations in terms of cleaniness. Four out of five bathrooms had mold. In one of the appartments, the one that had three bathrooms, the owners left only four rolls of toilet paper (for four nights stay). Lastly, while the appartments offer parking spots to rent, we were charged for four spots, while there was actually space for only two cars and we had to park so close to each other that getting out of the car was almost impossible, especially due to some cacti pots that were separating the parking spots with the rest of the area.

Would highly recommend. Just a word of caution....if you want to the stunning view, you have to climb the stairs, but it's worth every step! The step into the bath is a bit of a challenge for short legs!! Catania is not the cleanest of towns, lot of rubbish around...but amazingly buildings and plazas.Great base to explore area!

No living room, not great for groups, nowhere to sit comfortably. Kitchen wasn’t equipped, no cups or glasses, everything was old and chipped, not pleasant to use. Read the description properly, we were under impression our apartment has a terrace, but that only applies for small apartment. It’s on a busy road, very noisy all night.

I think the only feedback that I have is the wifi range wasn't reaching the bedrooms in the back. For the rest everything was fantastic.

• Lynette (10/5): A Fantastic Stay in a Beautiful City - A lovely apartment with an amazing view and a great location within walking distance of all the bars, restaurants and bus station! Our host, Francesca, was amazing too, she picked us up from the airport and made us so welcome providing lots of information. There wasn't anything we didn't like. However there are a lot of stairs (60+) to climb before reaching the apartment and a few more once you're inside (only a lift for luggage) so be prepared.
• Vanessa (9/5): Good value for a great size apartment - My family and I had a lovely stay in Casa Alcala Deluxe. The communication with Francesca was excellent from making the booking and through to our arrival. The property is an easy 5 mins walk to the markets and square. The old Italian style apartment we were allocated was very large, well equipped kitchen, very good size bedrooms with plenty of storage, two bathrooms ( which was really handy) but above all was very clean. Don’t be put off by the immediate area, run down, dirty, lots of graffiti, that’s Catania!! It’s real, authentic, not clean and touristy like other Italy cities. I was pleased we stayed at this property and it was very good value for money but I was very disappointed we didn’t have a terrace. In hindsight I should have clarified this and not assumed by the photos we would be sitting there on the roof looking over at Mt Etna 😁

• Stefan (10/5): Everything you need for a Catania experience. - Amazing view, comfortable, spacious, clean and a very friendly staff. Close to everything in the city and even to a buss station, should you wish to visit other places in Sicily. Could use one more sheet for the bed.
• Kestutis (3/5): Poor - First of all I would like to mention that this review is based on our whole Sicily trip regarding 5 diffrent places. The only point that is ok about the place is location as it's few steps away from old town. The smell of chemical. We are not first time travelling in Italy and we know that Italians like strong smell of cleaning or washing chemicals but this place was extraordinary. Without even entering the facilities you can feel the smell and chemicals in your throat and I'm not even scent senstive but we had to ventilate the place for 2 days. The terrace is mehh... you can enjoy we for 10/15minutes but there's nothing more special or you can try to escape from chemical smell to dirt of the city. All the things at the apartment for extra cost wine that costs in Lidl 4 EUR is priced for 10 from the host. The sofa is terrible it's not possible to sleep normaly on it and as a bonus is you sleep on sofe you got all the apartments water pump sound from the terrace it's very nice especialy at 5am. So in my opinion it's just not worth better go to Taormina live there enjoy the city and come to Catania just for landing from the plane or come for 1 day you can take the toy train for 5 eur and you will see everything

The apartment was up 4 flights of stairs (77 steps!!), and we were only allowed to use the lift when we were finally leaving. As we are in our 70s and I use a walking stick, this did cause us some difficulty.

• Kyla (10/5): Truly amazing apartment with a truly amazing host - Francesca was our main contact and she was truly amazing. She pick us up and dropped us off at the airport. The communication from Francesca was above and beyond amazing. She answered her phone at every hour of the day no matter what the question. The apartment was really well located and the view from the balcony was incredible! We walked everyday and everywhere from the apartment.

The apt. is an oasis of peace and tranquillity in the midst of the busy heart of the city. The terrace and view were a great bonus. The owner kindly offered to pick us up at the airport for a very reasonable price and showed us around the apartment. It was a generous size with fun, quirky design.Would happily return. The owner was always available via WhatsApp to answer any questions. The shower was located within a bathtub, that, as a senior, was a bit challenging for me.
• Avi (10/5): Just see what dinner could look like in Catania - Location is wonderful. Staff is very nice and helpful even with a broken English. The owner was even helpful on the phone while I was at the supermarket and couldn’t remember if there was a pot to boil pasta. Of course here was. The view, quiet and quality of the place are great!!!!! We will definitely come again. N/A
• Brody (10/5): A perfect vacation apartment. - The location was perfect, everything was easily accessible from this place. Me and my friends stayed here for 3 days and indeed we enjoyed this place very much. The apartment was just perfect, not to forget the beautiful view from the balcony. The owner was very kind and helpful, he explained us everything thing. Gave us a couple of tips as well about the city.
• Janos (10/5): Nest in the heart of Catane - The accomodation is all in all very comfortable, fully equipped and climatised, has a rooftop terrace with a view of the duomo and the Etna. Both Francesca and Ivan were very flexible, reactive and helpful considering all of our needs; among others they provided free entrance tickets to the cosiest beach bar around, good tips for restaurants, contact for an excellent Etna-trip agency (Etnavic), they helped in car rental as well (we've got a brand new car!).
• Reiko (4/5): It was meh. - The nicest thing was the location, it was a few mins of walking to the center. There's AC in every room minus the bathroom. This review is based on six people's views whom we all stayed in the unit together. The place is outdated. The floors were dusty, the kitchen was dingy/grimy, and the shower basins needed draining. With each shower, your entire foot and ankle took a bath. A bunch of utensils, stoneware, and cooking pots were outdated and a little iffy to use. We had to buy toilet paper and paper towels because that was not included. There are a lot of rules, like taking out the trash...The host was nice, it seemed a bit forced, but tolerable. To note, it has nothing to do with cultural differences. Just an attitude. One of the beds was broken, the owner attempted to fix the bed, but, it reverted. It is on a busy street, you will hear a ton of noise. We got a different place down the street, much nicer.
• Andrea (9/5): Superb - Spacious rooms. Good location near the city center & bus terminal No a/c in common areas, only in the bedrooms. No livingroom area
• Adina (4/5): The only stay in which I felt harassed and humiliated by the host's attitude. - The short distance from the main tourist attractions of Catania Throughout the stay, the host had an arrogant attitude that culminated in the fact that I paid 30 Euros for a non-existent air conditioner remote control and I was asked for 20 Euros for 2 bottles of wine that I found in the fridge at arrival. The kitchen is very poorly equipped, you won't find two mugs or glasses the same, there is only one coffee cup, and the cooking utensils are in a bad condition. Also, the toilet paper is insufficient.
• Dave (8/5): Very good - Perfect location and easy to park on site. Francesca was very helpful with the check in instructions. Gorgeous terrace to sit out on in the evening. Chairs on the terrace could have been more comfortable and the WIFI could have been stronger, but these are only minor things.

• Maria (9/5): Highly recommend this apartment - The apartment is a three bedroom, three bathroom apartment... beautifully maintained...do not get put off by the building as the outside of the building is quite shabby...but the apartment within is very well kept...which is three storeys above and you have to walk up and down...there is a tiny lift for luggage that is only accessible from the host's garage...not for use by people...but that did not matter to us... The location was a walking distance from all attractions in Catania! And the fish market is a must to visit and buy some fresh fish ...which we did and cooked a wonderful dinner! Highly recommended if you have no mobility issues of climbing up and down three floors of steps to the apartment.
