- wei ciang (10/5): - 住宿地點很棒,離石打丸山雪場很近,住宿提供接駁,很方便且無時間限制,對於滑雪旅客相當友善,且溫泉舒適,房間寬敞,價格實惠,整體來說若不考慮湯澤車站附近的熱鬧,可以考慮古城的安靜,這邊就像坐落於郊區的一座古城,安靜且方便 接駁車的地點相對較少,希望沿途可以多些停靠點方便,如石打丸山、GALA...等等

- Kate (8/5): Nice lodge with a good breakfast near the ski fields - I enjoyed our stay here. The location was ok - walking distance to the train and they have a shuttle that presumably takes people to the ski fields (not where we were headed). We paid extra for breakfast - it was lovely. Some of it was a little exotic for me and I had a giggle at some of the English translations. I liked the onsen once I got over my Western aversion to nakedness. The room itself was nice and big. The beds were comfy and it was clean. I'm grateful for the instructions in the onsen about how to use it - it helped me not to embarrass myself further! There were vending machines available and I also noticed there was ski gear hire. I was expecting a shower in the room, or at least somewhere on the floor we were staying. However, it turned out that the only showers were in the onsen itself. There was also some miscommunication about where to meet the shuttle - it wasn't provided prior to arriving and we (of course) were waiting at the wrong exit at the train station. However, the hotel had organised whatsapp access prior so we were able to communicate and find the shuttle. Apologies to the people who were waiting for us! The lodge was older than expected but reasonably well maintained.

- Li-Ting (9/5): - 內部乾淨、服務人員友善 露天池偏小、當天入住同一層有臘腸狗，外面有動靜會吠叫，隔天早上住客不在房內，臘腸狗一直叫...雖然知道是寵物友善旅館，但狗狗一直叫顯得門的隔音不是很好。

Drop off and pick up ski fields shuttle service was on demand rather than a fixed schedule.... Communicated via WhatsApp. Very authentic Japanese experience with very few westerners as guests. Google translator is the go if you're not a Japanese speaker. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Also the staff are able to supply discounted lift tickets... As a gluten free person I had no drama with the Japanese buffet breakfast... Lots of choices. The same for dinner where they make every effort to accommodate your dietary needs ... Just give advanced warning so they can organise the courses for you. They have an excellent drying room for wet ski gear. Washing machine and dryer also on site. The ski / snow board rental comes with a great price but be prepared for limited in choice. There are plenty of hire places nearby so not a real issue.

Food (breakfast) was simple and selection was limited but it was comfort Japanese food. Property was close enough to ski slopes, they provide shuttle to and fro the ski slopes and also Echigo Yuzawa station Small rooms. But that’s expected.

- Leah (10/5): Absolutely lovely inn; cannot recommend enough! - Truly one of the most wonderful inns I’ve stayed at in all of my times in Japan! The place is immaculate and feels lovely and new while also having a wonderful 「懐かしい」 vibe to it. From the very start all of the staff were kind and considerate and showed us all the ropes! I adored that the entry into the rooms is all keyless—there’s touch keypads on the doors! We tried all three baths since we reserved the wonderful private rooftop bath. As an FYI for anyone unaccustomed to such a thing, the rooms themselves do not have showers—you’re meant to use the bath areas for your cleaning, so if you’re uncomfortable with the onsen experience in Japan just be aware! You totally should get over your anxieties and use the bath though—they’re relaxing and luxuriant! We had one dinner with them and two breakfasts, and all of the food was absolutely delightful! The breakfast was buffet style and full of local/seasonal ingredients, and the dinner was course after course and we were very very well fed. All in all, I can’t say enough wonderful things. We adored our stay! We liked everything! We don’t mind walking so it wasn’t a problem to walk to and from Ishiuchi Station when we needed to

- igitravel (10/5): - Tradycyjny riokan z bardzo dobrymi posiłkami w stylu japońskim. Obiekt posiada onsen zarówno publiczny jak i prywatny. Transport z pobliskiej stacji kolejowej jest bezpłatny.
- Jana (6/5): - The onsen is really nice, and the breakfast is great, too. The bathrooms are super small (thanks god there is an onsen you can use) und the rooms don’t have curtains to make it a bit darker at night. In addition, we had a room (402) which had a window which was not even covered with a shoji, which resulted in the fact that the room was brightly lit after sunrise. The hotel is dog friendly, which is nice. But when your room, as a non-dog owner, is on the same floor with at least 3 dogs, who all bark even before 6am, it is extremely disturbing.

- hiroko (10/5): フジロック期間にお世話になりました - フジロック参加時に宿泊しました。越後湯沢駅からの送迎バスも出してくださり、期間中はお風呂も夜間開放で、宿に到着してすぐに全身をさっぱりさせることができました。朝ごはんも美味しく、親切なスタッフの方の皆さんのおかげで快適に過ごせました。 ペット宿泊可の宿なので、動物アレルギーの方は症状が少し出るかもしれません。わたしは犬猫アレルギーのため、ときどきくしゃみが出ました。宿は全体的に清潔なので、アレルギー症状だと思います。

- Ai (7/5): I will stay again. - Well maintained. Friendly staff. Facilities are good. The onsen bath area is not big but comfortable. Meal portions are plentiful, and you get privacy as the dining area is partitioned. At first we were worried when we saw the lobby is on the 2fl , with our heavy luggages, it will be painful. But lucky they have lifts. Surrounding are other residences and rice field plots. It is about 10-15min drive to the Kiyotsu Gorge. I enjoyed my stay. Recommended.

- Phil (9/5): Beautiful! - The rooms were great, we were very happy to have a small coffee table setting with two armchairs! An often missed alternative to sitting on the tatami for us western tourists. Both onsens were exceptional, very nicely designed and maintained - and it's great that you can experience both as they swap each day. We didn't book in for the private rooftop onsen. The staff were super helpful with shuttle transport to and from the main station as well as too and from the ski resorts each day. Very useful drying room and boot area via the ground-floor entrance. We had one dinner at the hotel's restaurant and it was fantastic. Staff assisted us with reservation and transport for dinner on other nights. There is little within walking distance of the hotel, but this was expected and clear before booking. There are convenience stores, supermarkets, restaurants and cafes approx. 10 mins from the hotel if desired. Most staff had limited English capacity/capability, but this did not cause any issues or discomfort for us and we were more than able to communicate as needed.

- Sophie (10/5): Great stay, friendly staff :) - We really enjoyed our stay at Maruyama Onsen Kojyokan. The staff were very nice and the room and onsen were exceptional. It was very convenient to get the hotel shuttle from the train station and to the ski resorts. We would love to stay again!
- Matt (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was accommodating, kind, and helpful. The shuttle was super convenient, as was scheduling. The food was amazing! You can hear your neighbors opening and closing doors, or noise in the hallway. I’m a light sleeper and ear plugs were enough to get me through with zero problems. Didn’t hear voices through the walls. The private onsen may not be worth it. It’s next to some sort of generator which smells a bit mechanical/like car exhaust.
- Christopher (10/5): Amazing place with lovely onsen and friendly, helpful staff - Amazing place - lovely and very comfortable, with extremely friendly and helpful staff. They speak decent English, but also have good systems set up with WhatsApp and Google Translate and nothing is too much trouble. The onsen are beautiful and the food in the restaurant is just delicious. The private outdoor onsen on the fourth floor deck can be booked for a 45 minute session, but the design of the space was not very well thought through: when you stand up by the onsen, you have an amazing view of the snowy mountains, but as soon as you sit down in it, you can see nothing at all due to the balustrades. Still very nice, but slightly disappointing in that regard. But the two public onsen complexes (three pools each) are very nice and have some lovely outdoor-but-undercover pools from which you can see trees and snow, if not mountains...

They arranged a car to pick me back and on the next day, took me to find it. Luckily, it was found and I was so blessed to choose this ryokan. Highly recommended! No
- Francis (10/5): World definitely book again - I don't know where to start.The in house onsen, the hospitality, the futon and tatami style, the food, the amenities, the shuttle to the ski resorts, the station and restaurants , and most importantly the people! My wife wanted me to mention this, the usage of the bath which is also a public bath, could only be used during the predefined time for 1 gender at a time. It's. Male get 5 hours in the evening and the female in the morning. This didn't bother me though because I only shower once in the winter anyway.

- Jinfaye (9/5): Excellent ryokan near ishiuchi maruyama ski resort - Outdoor onsen was amazing but I realised there were no shower facilities for those averse to public baths. Food was mainly Japanese fare - had breakfast and dinner, which was superb. I particularly liked the dining room that had private booths for everyone. + there are pet friendly options. Room was spacious and clean, and staff were very helpful. The facilities and amenities are generally very good - they even have their own ski gear rental available in house. Location is abit out of the way, 15mins drive from echigo yuzawa station, 10mins to gala yuzawa. But pretty close to ishiuchi maruyama ski resort. The hotel provides shuttle service to the ski slopes on demand but only does pick up from the station at specific timings - didnt know until I'd booked my train ticket which was not ideal as there are no pick up times from 1130- 3pm. Food options are pretty scarce in the area so would strongly recommend having dinner at the hotel.
