Guest Reviews
- Salomé (10/5): Amazing week at YK ART HOUSE - Cat lovers, this is your place !
Very confortable, well decorated, great restaurant downstairs, wifi is decent. It would be nice to have a small fridge in the room and a better wifi. Apart from that, everything was good
- David (9/5): - Supervriendelijk personeel, leuke sfeer. De kamer was ruim. Leuk plekje midden in de drukke stad. De douche had geen warm water,
- Jenny (10/5): Comfy friendly and cheap! - Stay here when I can!
It’s easy, great rooms great staff great location Nothing it’s all good
- Matthew (8/5): - Very cool place with a lot of plants. Comfortable rooms and good value for money. Pool was quite dirty.
- Alexia (8/5): - On y est resté que peu de temps mais tout était très bien
- Natasha (9/5): -
- Liz (5/5): - I like the concept of full vegan restaurant (that's why I chose them in the first place). I also like the combined idea of library and second hand which makes them unique. The room was good too, clean and comfortable. I think that they should try harder to make this place easier for people who stays there to come together and connect. Maybe try more of a lounge? Also felt a little lack of warmth and openness from the staff even though they were polite.
They had no possibilty to recieve things for their second hand and that is ok, but I wish that would be clear beforehand in their info that they've stopped their intake, because I travelled around with clothes that I wanted to donate to them and I didnt have time to find other places to give to before going to airport, so I had to put good clothes in the trash :/ I know other guests coming there also wanting to donate good items.
The "breakfast included" deal is basically one small single sandwich and a coffee. Could've been more generous, in my opinion.
- Sevyn (10/5): - one of my favourite places we’ve stayed on our three month trip so far. lovely place, we were on the top floor so our room
opened up to the outside. we loved the interior of the room and had a charming and peaceful feel to it. staff were very friendly bathroom did begin to smell after a day
- Paulina (9/5): - Good location

- Michelle (10/5): Lovely boutique guesthouse & cafe - My favorite guesthouse in Phnom Pehn. The guesthouse and cafe are located along a little alley with a beautiful quiet garden courtyard. The food is delicous and the cafe has a community vibe. There's an art gallery on site and a place for events. Spacious rooms and apartments.
- Cameron (9/5): - A very nice stay, clean and comfortable room, fab location. Outside area, lovely areas to relax in, swimming pool, libary, vegan café.

- Van Damme (6/5): - Niets Het ontbijt,het zwembad
- Anne (7/5): -
- Kato (7/5): A nice community feel with green space - Patio Garden and library space were charming. Affordable food was also a plus. Bed and mattress were not clean. The furniture is tasteful but not well maintained. An aicon was not working and a door lock was broken although the staff came and fix them all. Mine face the building and the street, not the garden, so the room was dark all day. Quite noisy due to the live music at night.

On a adoré notre séjour !
- Soran (3/5): Change for better future together! - 1. Staffs kept knocking the door for the signature on the bill that I ordered something to eat at a small restaurant. It should do immediately after ordering!
2. *Should have the service for ordering from the room.
- Thierry (9/5): - Une grande chambre lumineuse
Le thé et l'eau à disposition L'isolation acoustique de notre salle de bains et de celle de la chambre voisine serait à améliorer
Pas de réfrigérateur

- imogen (9/5): - The location of this hotel was perfect for us right next to bicycle lane right next to ion Mall one.
for us as a couple with a toddler the rooms were a good size the second room we stayed in was amazing had a fully equipped kitchen massive bathroom comfortable sofa good spacious room clean.
Amazing facilities library music instruments delicious vegan restaurant downstairs just overall very happy with my experience One thing I would say about this hotel is that the locks on the door are quite low so it would be helpful especially if you're staying with small kids to have a lock higher up on the door because our toddler was able to open the door and the lock by himself however other than that like I said the facilities I liked a lot there's nothing to complain about for the especially for the value for what you're paying
- chen (8/5): -
- Kneath (4/5): Plagued by mosquitoes - I've stayed here many times for work trips, and it has been an okay option. But I wont stay again. Bring insect repellent, especially in rainy season. Perhaps due to the garden design (lots of standing water) and dark dusty places the hotel and restaurant have an unusually high number of mosquitoes (day and night). The restaurant burns the coils and has repellent but you need something stronger. I contracted dengue fever when I stayed here. I don't blame the hotel, but they need to consider fumigating the premises. Since I now associate it with dengue I wont stay here again.
- Aleksandr (5/5): I wouldn't choose this hotel again. I found one the same day for $10, which is half the price of a room at this hote - Only location Even though they had rooms available, the staff wouldn't allow a late checkout, even for a fee. I wanted to grab a bite to eat in their cafe, a dish they didn't have, and I offered to buy wine or beer at the bar, but the staff wouldn't allow it. There were no people in the cafe at the time.
- Nima (7/5): -
- Daria (6/5): - It’s a good place, well equipped for a long stay. Located in the center, many good restaurants around I would have given them at least 9 as I try to support businesses as much as I can. However, my stay was extremely disappointing due to animal abuse happening in this hotel. They have two cats one of which gave birth recently. Both mother cat and baby kittens are malnourished and overall don’t look well. The first day I arrived one of the kittens got stuck on the roof and was crying for several days. I had to push the staff several times to try and do smth but they were quite reluctant and trying to pretend the problem is not there. One day after I showed them pictures they asked the cleaner climb and try to catch the kitten. This was not successful. After this attempt they became ignorant again. It was extremely sad to watch. The hotel positions itself as environment friendly but animal welfare is being ignored.

- oliver (10/5): -
- Mia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thomas (4/5): Got a refund and left posthaste - Pool, ceiling fan, air-conditioning all faulty
- Stewart (8/5): Very good - No visitors after 8pm in a single room. So I had to upgrade to a studio.
- Oliver (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kirsty (7/5): Good - Spacious rooms
Great common space - the restaurant, library and thrift shop are lovely! My friend was allergic to the dust in the room and it made her skin swell. It also made my asthma bad. We got extra room service after the first night, to try and rectify this, but it did not help.
- Christine (9/5): Superb -
- Jonatan (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable room
Water provided every day, no plastics
Beautiful garden The wifi in my room didn’t work very well
- Jeremiah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marcelina (9/5): Superb - Very cozy place with friendly personnel. I could do late check-in and the next day I could store there my luggage. Pleasant view from the top floor, AC perfectly working. Sometimes WiFi was clashing but not a big deal.
- Sansambo (9/5): Superb -
- Kneath (9/5): Superb - The single room is perfect for short work tripe. The onsite Vegan restaurant is a big bonus.
- Carolanne (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and comfortable

- Bahaa (9/5): Superb -
- Vincent (7/5): Was okay - Good location. The room was basic but was okay.
- Louise (9/5): Big bright cosy safe fully equipped centrally located! - Big bright apartment with 2 bathrooms, lovely sitting room, a kitchen with full size fridge, 2 gaz burner stove, well equipped for those wanting to cook in! There are 2 big supermarkets close by. The apartment is centrally located, 2 minutes from Bassac Lane and close to all the attractions in town. It has a refreshing pool and vegetarian restaurant downstairs with soft playing music during the day. We appreciated the strong WIFI, the many ceiling fans, the strong air conditioning in kitchen area and bedroom too, and the good water pressure with hot water if needed! We very much enjoyed our stay and would certainly come back when we pass through Phnom Penh again ! The bedroom was on the front part of the hotel facing a narrow but busy alley. It was noisy during the day but quieted way down at night so it didn't affect our sleep.
Kitchen and sitting area where not affected by the noise during the day as they faced the inner courtyard. I will ask for a room in the back area next time!
- Hui (8/5): Very good - good food and relax environment.
- Taina (8/5): Happily surprised and cozy - great vegan food! - I really enjoyed the room which was clean and neat and with a cozy vegan restaurant and courtyard. It’s a very central and inexpensive stay. The atmosphere is really cool and cozy. There’s even a library, 2nd hand clothes store and a small swimming pool within the compound. My room turned towards the road where there’s a lot of traffic most of the time of the day. I would recommend that you book a room inside the compound and pay only slightly more for a more peaceful stay and better sleep.
- John (2/5): Good location, but noisy, poorly managed hotel with bad quality WIFI - Excellent location very close to many restaurants, cafes, and sites of interest. Staff reasonably friendly. Was woken up at 6 am in the morning by two staff members having an argument directly outside by door. The Internet was unreliable and slow. I had trouble checking in. There is no staff at the check-in desk later at night and at first the security officer on duty didn't want to let me inside. The building is poorly sound-proofed and you'll be forced to hear lots of noise, even at night. There was mildew on the bathroom window's curtain.
- Kimlayban (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anne-marie (7/5): Adequate stay in PP for one night - The cafe served good food - the cheese balls especially - and the location is great for exploring PP The bed (I was in the single room) was very creaky and not overly comfortable
- Owen (5/5): Disappointed.with what is happening to this beautiful house is depressing. - Stayed in this unique property many times before when it was owned by the late owner.
To say it’s charm and uniqueness is all but disappeared on my visit last week. The property is being run down and starting to look shabby and unkempt.
- Kneath (9/5): Superb -
- Vikas (4/5): Disappointing - I booked this property because of location, and pictures on website but the my arrival at hotel was shocking, when I saw a so called reception and a so called receptionist! On less then this rate, one could have booked Ibis, which is a International brand of Accor, much much better hotel! Nothing except location.
- Veeramohan (10/5): A Charm with Soul - A cosy place to be, enveloped with good plant-based food, books, and plants and pool.
- Castro (10/5): Exceptional - Very artsy, vegan and laid back vibes
- Carla (8/5): Very good -
- Anya (10/5): i am dreaming of coming back to this place, it’s magical - OH MY GOD. this is the most beautiful place you could stay at. charming vintage furniture, spacious room, hot water and good water pressure, shampoo, shower gel and soap, pristine towels, three (!!!) windows (two in the bedroom, one in the bathroom), a mini-fridge, fan/AC (both working perfectly), lots of storage space (from cute little corner cabinets to a wardrobe), fast WiFi, a vegan restaurant on-site with a discount for the guests (i recommend to try their tempeh skewers, simply delicious ), an amazing recycling policy, a thrift-shop, a huge library (!!!!!) with truly interesting and versatile books to read, and, as if all this weren’t enough, lots of greenery around, a swimming pool (although i didn’t swim, it does add to the ambience of the place): ALL THIS for 20$ per night. thank you! -
- Mark (8/5): Pleasant local stay in the city - I liked the character of this hotel. It is a local house set in a pleasant garden where guests can enjoy drinks and meals. The rooms are basic but fairly spacious and adequate.
- Castro (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (8/5): eco-friendly, slow drain, construction noise - Very bohemian and trendy with a library and an almost imposingly eco-friendly atmosphere with signs about how to dispose of everything, yet the drain in the shower was somewhat slow and overflowing (gross), which from an eco standpoint is rather ironic. The room was comfortable, yet small, and the furnishings were not as new as some other properties. The atmosphere was quiet within the hotel, and the guests were respectful and quiet, but the property next door was under construction, and there was about three hours of drilling and sawing going on each day, luckily ending around 6 pm. The staff was very friendly and helpful - quite impressive. Overall, it was a unique boutique hotel that seems to try hard to appeal to the environmentally-conscious traveler.
- Denis (8/5): Very good - Really liked the bed, matress and linen were suprusingly comfy
- Kimlayban (10/5): Exceptional -
- Reatrey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eda (8/5): Very good -
- Daniel (8/5): It was a decent enough place to stay, at a cheap price. - It was a decent sized room, with good working air conditioner. The bed was comfortable. Everything seemed very clean. Good price. The water in the shower didn't drain. By the time I was done showering, I was standing in 2 inches deep of dirty, soapy water. The staff seemed bored, and disinterested. The lock on the door seemed very flimsy. I was concerned someone could easily break into my room.
- Juliana (9/5): Superb -
- Doug (10/5): Nice room, excellent location near Bassac Lane, great price. - Room clean and convenient. Nice amenities: library, vegan restaurant. Great location, close to Bassac Lane. Excellent value for the price.
- Adrian (9/5): Excellent experience that breathes life into a teeming city. - The library, the greenery, the tone, the environmental values, the social concerns, are all very welcome. It can be challenging be asked to pay in US dollars but being given change, or at least part change, in Cambodian currency. I think it has something to do with the fact that small change is easier paid for in Cambodian currency, but there's an explanation gap for newcomers to make up.
- Reatrey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jana (10/5): Spacious and comfortable accommodation with wonderful garden, swimming pool, library and art gallery - Great location close to city centre & shopping mall, comfortable, clean and spacious apartment, beautiful garden with large plants and trees, swimming pool and outdoor restaurant/bar with amazing vegan food. I loved the library and art gallery, especially good conversations with the gallery's art director. Very quiet at night, friendly and helpful English-speaking staff. Polite and super punctual Tuktuk driver Mr. Ek chauffeured me safely around town and knew every place I needed to visit for work, which was a great benefit to me. The swimming pool would benefit from a ladder to make it easier to get out.
- Stephen (8/5): Very good - Good place for a stay for our weekend away in PP Clean and relaxing
- Donna (8/5): Very good -
- Dominik (10/5): Exceptional -
- Reatrey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Samuel (9/5): Superb -
- Tanya (10/5): Homely with modern ammenities. Good central location. - Has a homely vibe with an awesome communal library. Really nice spacious rooms with private bathroom. Super comfy and in a really good location.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Beautiful property but they have a curfew. - Room was like pictures provided. Property looked beautiful and has a sense of zen to it. Staff was friendly but had issues. Aircon was weak. bathroom drainage was slow so be quick with your showers or it gets flooded.
The property has a no visitors policy after 8:30 which is also the time their restaurant closes. This much I get. However, the main doors are also chained and locked at 9pm so movement is very much restricted. This was not communicated during the booking process and check in. I chose to stay close to bassac street where there’s night life and live music, I was hoping to come in and out as I needed. I am now being made to feel uneasy about staying out late cos there’s a chance of being locked out. I was left outside for a good 15 minutes on my first night not knowing of curfew, before the night watch came out and stared at me like I was inconveniencing him. Also being chained-in was a safety concern to me. Bringing this up to front desk the second day, I just wanted to know why this was not communicated at any point. And was basically told that’s how they’ve been doing it, if i want just tell the watchman (who doesn’t speak English or look too friendly) to unlock it, and i can email management to TRY to get a refund if I rather stay somewhere else. Front desk was not rude, but she also preferred to look at her laptop while I was speaking. So that left me with the sense that there was no point in saying more. My final night in Cambodia was thus spent in my room.
- Lari (5/5): Second visit EXTREMELY disappointing. Won’t be back. - Very little on this stay. It was clean and has good aircon. That’s pretty much it. Bed was like sleeping on a plank (I know they like hard beds in this region but this was absurd). Pillows were terrible and lumpy. Ceiling fan cracked and broken with pieces breaking out of the roof. Torn curtains. Windows set so high up I couldn’t even see out of them. No tea/coffee facilities in the room which at this price is ABSURD. Shower installed in such a way that it sprayed horizontally across the room directly onto the toilet and I had to take the head out and hand shower, which after 6 hours on a bus and paying this much money was NOT what I needed. Sink is at the height of a three year old child and only half installed so felt like it was going to fall off every time I touched it. Toilet is up high on multiple steps and very uncomfortable. After the great experience I had in another room a week ago I am EXTREMELY disappointed and angry about this one. They should absolutely be charging less money for this room!
- Lari (10/5): A wonderful time of rest and recuperation! - Comfy bed. Quiet calm room with air con AND ceiling fan! Free water in glass bottles purified on site. Tiny fridge in room to keep water cold. Eco friendly and community oriented. Vegan restaurant on site. TukTuk driver available who will drop and pick you up all over the city. Wonderful area to wander around in with loads of restaurants and stuff close by. Just everything is amazing. Incredible value for money! Nothing. It’s amazing.
- Beth (7/5): Good -
- Aeisha (8/5): Very good - I loved the location, tucked away in a tight alley way. Pretty quiet area.
I loved how much natural light the rooms get and the greenery that can be seen from the window.
I only ate at the restaurant twice but I really enjoyed the food.
Overall it was a nice place for a short getaway. I'll be staying here again later. The kettle wasn't cleaned before I used it. When I opened it there was a smelly, moldy surprise inside. The housekeeper told me she was in such a rush that she forgot to clean it. She did clean it, but I was too scared to use it after that.
There was also a bit of mold growing in the shower grout, but nothing too crazy.
- Matti (8/5): Very good - Hotel was mostly great. Cozy, big and clean rooms included filtered water to drink. Hotel had garden and library with many inernational books to read. It even had finnish books! Rooms were silent and hardly heard any noise from outside. Hotel had vegan restaurant and a cat! Hotel locks Doors with chains and padlocks at 9pm. I got trapped inside for long time before lazy and sleepy "nightguard" arrived and opened the locks. Same thing when i came back in the evening. I felt like i got jailed there. This hotel should make better security system to grant better in and out access to the guests.
