Guest Reviews
- Karen (10/5): Great location - Great position, comfortable room & friendly host.
- SUSAN (10/5): - It was located on the main street of Tynemouth. We could see the sea at the end of the road. We were not disturbed by noise. There were lots of well rated cafes and restaurants.
The owner was very friendly, available and helpful without at any point being intrusive. He went out of his way to make us feel at home and to provide what we needed.
We were very pleased and would return if in the area.
- Stuart (10/5): Hidden gem - Brilliant find. Located right on the high street next to many bars & restaurant yet very quiet in the rooms. Lovely host who was very welcoming. Well appointed rooms and gorgeous breakfast taken in the tea room which is a hidden gem. Will definitely return
- David (10/5): Excellent find A* - A very nice place in a very good position, I was given a very warm welcome when checking in and shown to my room. The hotel is clean and very well looked after. I would have no hesitation in recommending staying here if you are visiting the area.

- Gemma (10/5): Fabulous stay! - Fabulous stay, everything from the exceptional service, to the room, cleanliness, location and breakfast, we couldn't fault a thing!
We stayed in The Collingwood room, the balcony has an amazing view, and the room had lots of lovely extra touches.
We were celebrating my partners birthday, the team at Tynemouth 61 went above and beyond to make it extra special, bringing him a cupcake and a card at breakfast, the singing was fab too 😁
Thankyou so much, we will definately be back, look forward to seeing you all again soon. Gemma & Mark x

we dropoed our bags freshened up and headed out to a pre booked place on the sand at Rileys fish Shack, if you are looking for good food with a twist, i would highly recommend it, following the meal and a trip around the local pubs, we headed back for a good nights rest, the following morning we headed down stairs to the quaintly decorated breakfast room where we were srved a delicious full breakfast. we will be Deffinately returning to Tynemouth and stoppingat No 61
- Alyson (10/5): - Fantastic location right in the centre of Tynemouth high street. Spoilt for choice of where to eat and drink and central location for amazing walks along the the north east coast.
Even though on propriety of front street and I room on the front, the secondary glazing eliminated any noise.

- Stuart (10/5): Great stay - Great stay with family. Very friendly, so welcoming, lovely decor and atmosphere.

- Victoria (10/5): - Could not recommend Number 61 enough! The owner went the extra mile for us and offered up many recommendations of places to eat, drink and visit in Tynemouth. The room had everything we needed for our stay and was in a perfect location - right next to the beach and many bars and restaurants. The cherry on top for our stay was the outstanding breakfast included. There is a choice of a number of hot breakfast options as well as continental options and lots of tea and coffee. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Tynemouth.
- Michael (8/5): - Friendly and well placed in central Tynemouth. Met all of our needs for a comfortable break.

- Jon (10/5): - Very
- Michelle (10/5): - Great place to stay. Friendly, welcoming hosts. Centrally located with parking outside. Close to the beach, nice walks, independent shops and many good cafes and restaurants.
Cosy, comfortable room, immaculately clean with tea, coffee etc (cafetière a nice addition.) Delicious breakfasts. Would definitely recommend.
- Roslyn (10/5): - Meticulously appointed, spacious, lovely views, delightful inn-keepers, best hot breakfast on our trip. Added small touches in-room, like a small press-pot for coffee. We had a room with balcony which overlooked the castle and ocean, which was amazing. Parking along the strip right out the door is super easy but be sure to pay for the parking meter as this area is policed heavily. The meter-maid showed up while we were unloading looking for our ticket! (This is likely an income source for the small town). Tons of dining and drinks options, and the proprietors are very knowledgeable about the area so ask advice. Also, despite being in such a busy area, our room was amazingly quiet. Highly recommend.
- Emelye (10/5): - Really great stay for 3 nights. Lovely house and hosts.
All perfect and highly recommended.

- Sarah (10/5): - Had a lovely one night's stay at Number 61 - Stephen was lovely and welcoming, and the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. The place is very easy to get to from the Metro Station - about a five minute's walk, and there are plenty of restaurants on the high street.
- G V (8/5): No 61 - No 61 is ran by Stephen and his team and they run it on rails.
The breakfast is very good, the afternoon teas look delicious, the beds are comfortable and the rooms are spotlessly clean.
Thank you for a pleasant stay.
- keith (10/5): - very nice would stay again
- Sandra (10/5): Another brilliant stay at number 61 -
We have stayed here in Tynemouth a few times now because we love the area with its concentration of excellent restaurants, bars and chilled holiday atmosphere and because we love number 61. As always 10/10 for breakfast, cleanliness, hospitality and anything else I haven’t mentioned.

, near perfect.

Would definitely come back.

Ideal position to get the most from Tynemouth’s variety of things to do, see , eat and drink
- Richard (10/5): Cant wait to stay again - The guys were brilliant hosts and they made us feel so welcome. They went above and beyond in every way.
- Brian (8/5): delightful b&b - The entire property is spotless and the regimes in place made us feel safe and protected. The staff are exceptional from the owners down and the food is excellent. Our room was small and being very tall, i found it quite restrictive but overall we would stay again
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean friendly with amazing atmosphere. Will visit again
- andrea (10/5): Fab! - Lovely homely guest house. Owners are very friendly. Breakfast is great and there is plenty of choice. Lots of little personal touches in the room such as fudge, biscuits, hot chocolate and the usual tea and coffee. Will definitely be back.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Host’s were very welcoming and friendly, breakfast very good, close to bars and restaurants. This was our 2nd stay and hope to return in the near future
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We paid a lot of money for what seemed like a cupboard in an attic. You could not swing a cat in it. The bathroom was basic and minute . The furniture cheap. The upside was that the bed was comfortable!!! However our room was facing on to the Main Street with the taxi rank underneath us. The room was sweltering so we had no option but to open the window but the noise from the pub next door was horrendous until about 2 in the morning. We then could hear the couple in the room below us. Then at 7 am we were woken again by delivery vans bringing new barrels for the pub next door and the sound of breaking glass from them throwing all their bottles away. This property is not worth £99 for a standard room. You are better spending your money on a Premier Inn
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great hosts & a lovely clean Guesthouse right in the centre of Tynemouth. Breakfast was superb. Newcastle easily reached by the Metro. Would definitely recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect location. Welcoming friendly hosts. Loved the decor of the tea room. Excellent breakfast.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Stayed one night when attending a wedding in the area. Accommodation was twin room on third floor (no lift). Facilities included en-suite, hairdryer and tea/coffee etc. Even though it was a Saturday night the secondary windows totally blocked out the street below. Staff were lovely as was breakfast. We’d definitely stay again.
- Paul (10/5): - Excellent. Spotlessly clean and a very warm welcome. Great breakfast
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was so friendly without being intrusive. The breakfast choices were excellent
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean room easy access to hotel if you can find a parking spot right in the hub of shops bars and restaurants and a small stroll from tynemouth station Sunday market
- Margaret (10/5): Magic in Tynemouth - Wonderful amazing stay at no 61 with a beautiful room, fantastic hosts, delicious breakfast and absolutely perfect location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fabulous sea view from the balcony. Bed was really comfy and en-suite towels luxurious. Breakfast in the tea room was excellent and the decor was like being in Alice In Wonderland. Stephen and Neil were really friendly and grwat hosts x
