- Sharon (10/5): - A lovely hotel with very helpful, friendly staff. The food in the bar was excellent with good service. Easy walking distance to a good range of shops, bars and restaurants. Lovely relaxing spa facilities after a day out walking. Good central location for walkers. Accomodation was comfortable and clean. Would give it a higher rating than 3 star. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

On-site leisure club is very good and has a swimming pool, sauna, steam room and gym. Excellent staff, always happy to help and always cheerful. Overall an excellent hotel to explore from in North Wales.
- Paul (10/5): - I stayed in one of the lodges at the back of the hotel, which is fully refurbished, spotlessly clean and in excellent condition. Each lodge also has its own parking space right outside the front door. The hotel facilities make it feel more like a 4 star hotel. It has an impressive gym and pool/spa, the restaurant is excellent and the breakfast is cooked to order. Also great service from all the staff.

- Sean (8/5): Hotel lovely spa could be better - Stayed here a few times. Usually a quick and friendly check in, was a bit slow this time. Would have been good to know adding spa access was only from check until midday on check-out day before booking. Also, that Mondays a ‘bring your baby to pool day’. The first day we spent a couple of hours in the spa and it was so busy we could only use the pool. The second day was baby day and the hot-tub jacuzzi was broken. So, didn’t feel like the extra for the spa was worth it this time round.

- Sandra (10/5): Would stay again - We stayed in a lovely little lodge adjacent to the hotel. It backed on to the railway line. But even that was not an issue. It was quiet and comfortably furnished with a lovely bathroom. Breakfast was served in the main dining room and it was lovely.

Very very noisy road and fast speeding cars etc all night. Im a good sleeper but was awoke quite a few times by noisy traffic. I was hoping for the noise from owls or foxes haha . If i was to stay again i would ask for a room at the back ?

- Cal (10/5): - Lovely property with very friendly and helpful staff. Big relaxing and inviting bar area. The pool area was ok, the hot tub was warm not hot but still relaxing after a long hike. Not a place where you can rest on lounge chairs but if you wanted to swim, sauna, steam room then perfect. Stayed in a lodge room which was the best choice, very quiet and view to greenery and trees. Room and bathroom very spacious. Highly recommend.

- Nerys (8/5): - Really nice hotel with lovely reception and restaurant staff. Lovely, clean comfortable room, the only downside is there were toilets next to our room so every time somebody used the hand dryer we had a lot of noise. Bathroom was small but very clean. Will definitely stay again
- Amy (8/5): Very comfy bed - We had a lovely break in one of the lodges. The food in the restaurant was some of the best food we've ever tasted and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. Some aspects of the hotel and leisure centre look tired such as the handle bars near the steps of the top part of the pool are very loose, rust around the taps in the lodge, some chairs in the hotel restaurant could do with being replaced. Having said this it didn't take anything away from the wonderful time we had. After climbing a mountain we really appreciated the fantastic jacuzzi, exceptionally comfy bed and warm, powerful shower. The staff are very friendly and attentive to guests needs, providing ice cold water for the rooms due to a heatwave. We would stay here again without hesitation.
- Lisa (8/5): - Great location. 10min walk into Betws-y-coed. Loads of parking at the hotel. We stayed in a Delux Double room which had recently been renovatated and it was beautiful with a huge comfy bed, a sofa, a modern bathroom, separate free standing bath in the bedroom plus a outside seating area. The bath was ideal to relax in after a day exploring. Our only issue was finding a large clump of hair on the bathroom floor which the cleaners must have missed. Not a major problem, we simply picked it up with a tissue and binned it... but not great! The hotel also has a pool and gym, but we didn't use these. From the outside, the hotel overall looks tired and dated. But if you book a renovated room, you can't go wrong. We would stay again.

- Martin (10/5): Great hotel - Very comfortable stay in one of the lodges. Great location with lots to see and do in the area, especially if you like outdoor activities. Snowdon hikes are a 15/30 minute drive away depending on what route you take up the mountain. Having free access to the swimming pool and hot tub is wonderful after a days hiking. Only negative was the quality and quantity of the breakfast was a bit lacking.

Everything was easy and staff super friendly. Spa was spotless. Breakfast delicious, plenty of lovely choices, some fresh uncut bread would have have elevated it. One hundred per cent would stay again.

Staff really friendly and polite,breakfast was good but served way too hot.

Only thing for me in terms of improvements is the rooms could do with an update, bathroom was lovely and looked recently refurbished but the bedroom was a little dated, maybe an upgraded bed and TV (and I appreciate we're in the most beautiful place in Wales so who needs a TV but after a long day of hiking I know I love to kick back and chill out, especially when it's February and too cold to sit out) and nowadays most hotel rooms have smart TVs) otherwise a lovely experience and the staff do like to make sure you have a lovely experience

- Christopher (8/5): All in all very pleasant - Lovely stay, very convenient location- little stores and places to walk nearby but also close enough to travel to Snowdon etc. Staff were friendly and helpful when we needed them and it was a nice, clean and relaxed place to stay for what we needed. It was also nice to be able to use the pool as we arrived early and our room wasn’t quite ready. Didn’t eat there in the evening but the breakfast offering was plenty to load us up before trekking up Snowdon early.

- Richard (10/5): - I’ve used the Waterloo Hotel a few times over the years. I’ve never had a bad experience or found anything to complain about. It’s warm, comfortable and the staff are friendly. It’s also perfectly located to explore Eryri/Snowdonia.
- Julie (6/5): Nice place but very poor food - The room we stayed in was a superior double, which from the outside doesn’t look great, but inside was very nice, big and comfortable, with a nice outside space. Bed was very comfortable and shower was great. Service from the staff was excellent apart from the food, which was dreadful. We booked an evening meal, and the menu was disappointing, limited and expensive. We ordered pasta and pizza plus starters. They had no pasta so offered rice. The pizza was very undercooked, so couldn’t eat it. There wasn’t anyone but us in the restaurant and it felt everything was rushed. We weren’t looking forward to breakfast after the previous meal, but as we had paid, we decided to give it a go but again, it was dreadful. The produce was really poor and the food was like rubber. Overall, staff were lovely and the place is really nice, including the spa, which was fab, but the food really let it down for us, sadly.

Only a few minutes walk into the main street of Betws-y-Coed where the shops and places to eat are. We also made use of the swimming pool and jacuzzi available, which were clean. Breakfast could do with a bigger variety of food but still alright. Dinner at the hotel restaurant is very expensive though!

- Liam (10/5): - Great hotel, upgraded us to a superior Lodge which was amazing. Restaurant food was great and would definitely recommend booking. Staff were great and friendly. Only downside was the water pressure for the shower. We would definitely stay again.
- David (10/5): - A two-night break to take advantage of the scarce Autumnal sunshine was spent very comfortably here. Friendly staff, great facilities (pool, gym and spa) and good food. Great value last minute deal too. Will certainly stay again.

- Rosalyn (10/5): Pitstop stay - We added the gym and breakfast to our night away. Managed to use pool twice and the gym. Food and service lovely. Staff were friendly. The lady behind the bar was lovely, when had lunch as arrived earlier than planned. Plus we got in out room ealier also. So another plus. All round a lovely stop, sadly only one night stay was my negative. Thank you

- Maria (4/5): Very expensive for a shabby motel type room - Our so-called Luxury twin room lodge was surprisingly shabby and in need of renovation. Considering we were charged over £200/night I feel robbed! Everything at the hotel is outdated and not well kept. The grounds need smartening up and the exteriors of the lodges should have been painted 2 years ago. Our bathroom was tiny and outdated with a dirty shower curtain. The towels were old and small. The bathroom window though frosted only had a net up. I’m sure upper bodies are visible, privacy issue. Hard to read the radiator valve settings as they were paint splashed (but not recent paint!) Pool complex staff were friendly but the place could do with a facelift. Restaurant menu quite limited. Food adequate but nothing special. Lodge windows running within condensation even after using bathroom extractor and opening windows. Felt a bit damp and run down. Location was convenient for us but our luxury lodge lacked creature comforts and any charm, so didn’t feel like a great location for couples long weekend away.
- Paul (10/5): - Had a night stay on motorcycles. Twin lodge room was setback from the road & we could park the bikes outside the room. The room was everything we needed after a 6hr journey. The staff were nice & it was a short walk into town. We didn’t eat in the hotel because we wanted to stretch our legs. Would stay again.
- Karen (8/5): - We had a really nice stay at the Waterloo staff are friendly and proffesional, the Spa and breakfast were excellent. The only thing that let this hotel down was no heating throughout the night in our Superior Lodge and after a late cold night at Fear Fforest it was impossible to get warm. Presume the heating must be on a timer as 2 out of 3 radiators came in in the morning. Such a shame because the lodge itself was lovely.
- Sue (6/5): - Stayed in a lodge, liked being away from main hotel and parking outside the door. Great location far enough from the centre but easy walkable to local amenities. Did not find the room a comfortable place to spend any time in but great as a base if you plan to be out and about most of the time.

- Josh (10/5): Always Good - I love this hotel and stay every time I have a race in snowdonia. Staff are always great as are the rooms. This time around however, Lodge 37, was very cold and the radiator wouldn’t come on. Another thing was the fan in the bathroom, is is so loud and you can’t turn it off

- Gavin (10/5): Perfect stay - Quaint hotel, reminded me of the lodge from Dirty Dancing. Short 5-10 minute walk into the centre area but it was perfect us a team. Food was incredible, both the evening and I must say one of the breakfasts I've ever had in any hotel ive ever stayed at. Will definitely return
- Christopher (10/5): Two Day North Wales stay - Stayed for a two night "get away" for North Wales and the hotel was ideal for this. First impressions are that whilst the hotel and lobbies are up to date, the room was slightly dated in its decor however, it was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the there was no light pollution which led to a good nights sleep; it was also extremely quiet too. Breakfast which was good (scrambled eggs and salmon- yummy) and used the health club although the pool was full of kids, but it was school holidays so, book carefully. Overall, it was a good stay, the staff were all brilliant and I would happily book this hotel again.
- Finley (10/5): Perfect walking holiday - Nice and friendly staff. Lovely lodge, which makes it feel more private, in a lovely place. Good breakfast too. Loads of good walks straight from the hotel.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointed - Unfortunately, our stay was subpar for the extortionate price. Pros: ground floor rooms with allocated parking in front of the room entrance; early check-in; adequately clean Cons: We paid £700 for 3 nights (4 guests, breakfast not included, pool entry not included, no extras) and we felt quite duped with how poor the quality of the rooms were. Everything was very very dated; our room was made up but our bedding was never changed once even though it was stained; bedding had old marks/stains on it; room smelt of sewage/drains; toilet paper was horrendous quality; no mobile shower head just a fixed one that directed the water straight down into the drain so was hard to shower without standing in the drain yourself; poor WiFi; train track right outside the room window which was not mentioned anywhere on booking or arrival; 2 out of 4 guests got bitten by something at night (windows were shut); rusty coil kettle, etc. We were gone all day and only stayed the night and didn't look forward to coming back to the rooms and felt like we had lost our holiday savings and taken advantage of because of the location/season. Budget hotels definitely put more effort into their rooms and comfort. Lovely area, poor quality.
