- LUISA (10/5): - This is our second stay at the Casablanca suite of this hotel, and it feels like a home away from home. The staff are all kind and accommodating, and helped me easily rebook the dates that had been booked in error on Expedia. The room feels almost exotic in its uniqueness of decor, and the bed and jetted tub are so relaxing and comfortable. The coffee is selected and roasted by the establishment, and is top-notch (On our second stay we figured out the process of pour-over brewing a little better, and appreciated the notes of the coffee even more.) There is a cafe downstairs with great items (and prices), not to mention delightful aromas! Commercial Street, while older and containing some rundown stretches, is being revitalized, and houses some of Springfield's most unique shopping, dining, and art. Try the Lebanese Place, Blue Heron, Chabom, and Flower and Forge, among many others. (One improvement I would like to see is the addition of some big pillows for the wooden bench along the wall in the Casablanca suite. It is a nice area of the room to relax in, but the wooden bench is just not comfortable. Another sachet of coffee would also be welcome, as we like a cup in our room when we check in, as well as in the morning, but I also understand that the cafe has excellent brews available.)
- Darlene (10/5): - I have stayed at this property several times. This is the first time I was not able to work because the internet signal was too slow. Perhaps it was the particular room, maybe something else. I will have to investigate this before I stay again.
- kristan (4/5): Great spot-customer service lack luster - Nice space. Loved the location near restaurants and C Street shops. Cafe staff were kind and helpful. Try the miso caramel latte. My stay itself was a bust. An outage was clearly outside of their control) but I was disappointed that no one responded or reached out to check in on out of town guests. I reached out to the hotel on facebook due to the outage and no AC from 9:30 PM- 3AM. I have yet to receive a message back on Sunday afternoon, Friday night stay. A flashlight or lantern would have been helpful since there were no emergency lights in the room. So my one night in Missouri and dining in C-Street and kicking back to watch a movie turned into sitting in a dark room and going to bed early with no AC in July.

Great location on commercial street (one of the few walkable areas of Springfield) with cute shops, cafes, and a farmers market. Only downside was the shower in our room —water pressure was non-existent. I have thick hair and this was a pain. Otherwise perfect stay!

Bad: in a odd location kind of an industrial wasteland, no amenities like water or glasses, no windows in the room, strange floorplan with the bathroom separated by from the bedroom by a cloth curtain. Bottomline: there are nicer places to stay in Springfield.

- Maria (10/5): Why stay at a chain when this exists? - Clearly a labor of love for its creator. A century(?) old building turned into a boutique hotel, coffee shop, work space and meeting place. It a hidden gem that I would recommend to anyone visiting Springfield. Support the little guys and small businesses like this as well as the other businesses on Commercial St. In Springfield!

We also love the coffee shop and have begun ordering their coffee for home. Playing a tiny part in the beautiful C Street revival is another big bonus. 10/10, all day long.

Very quiet and peaceful, perfect for introverted people or anyone looking to relax.
- MISTY (6/5): - I have stayed here now 3 times this visit was not what it has been We had to ask for an extension cord so we could hook up the window unit for air as the room was very stuffy This took hours The room next to us had a barking dog The entry door that should securely shut and only open with a code , was not working and did not march leaving the door open at all times with no staff on site after hours This is very concerning Sadly this may be our last visit

Compared to the plethora of other hotels out there there are many things this place is not, but I spend a lot of time travelling and after a while all hotels just kind of seem the same regardless of what you spent. This hotel is not the same! It’s perfectly unique and different! It’s in an interesting neighbourhood and it will definitely be my go to place to stay when in town.!

- Christy D (4/5): SKYLIGHT IN A BEDROOM - Cute renovated room in old building, comfortable bed BUT a skylight in a BEDROOM is not a good idea. Too light to sleep the whole night!!! Also the sheer drape in the window did nothing to help to darken the room.

- G Mark (10/5): Thanksgiving in Springfield - I really like this hotel as an alternative to a corporate hotel. The building is historic, the space is large, and there is lots of atmosphere. It‘s a great convenience to have the coffee shop in the same building. I really like supporting an independent business like this and the many others along Commercial Street.
- David (10/5): - The room was spacious, pretty, clean and unique. I enjoyed reading the books about Russia. The bear pelt on the wall added to the unique aesthetic. It was overall a very creative space! The downstairs area included a cafe, coworking space and gallery, all of which added to the charm. The window AC unit was a bit loud for my liking, but it didn't blow too often because the weather was mild. There are some trains that travel nearby ocassionally, though they aren't too noisy.

- Alice (4/5): - Eclectic hotel - very clean and homey. Unfortunately lacked some basics. Window coverings afforded no privacy or protection from the sun. No bedside tables and bedside lights were connected to the overhead lights so you couldn’t really have low lighting at all. No network or local tv. Internet service was spotty at best. No door to the bathroom so no privacy there. Bathroom sink clogged up and very slow to drain. No Kleenex. Only lock on the door was a thumb turn lock on the handle so not very secure. Outside door to the hotel had a code but could be easily compromised. (My husband is a security professional and found security quite lacking). Not a very comfortable visit unfortunately.
- Kelsey (8/5): Please get blinds for the rooms! - Stayed one night to attend a festival outside Springfield on Sunday. It’s a cute boutique hotel. I think the concepts/themes for the rooms are very loosely fitting but the room was cute either way. It was nice to be right above the coffee shop but would have enjoyed coffee in the room. My biggest complaint is that there are no blinds!!! There were curtains that are thin and didn’t even cover the windows fully. The room faces a street and the street light shined right through the windows to the bed.

It was clean, modern, and a great location on Commercial St. My husband and I decided to take a last minute trip to Springfield so got in a bit late. Instructions were easy to follow and the hotel itself is great! Loved staying here and would definitely stay again if we find ourselves back in Springfield!

- Kim (8/5): - I was looking to support a local owner instead of a hotel chain for a room close to the airport. I arrived after 9pm and staff gave me a door code and had my room key ready for me I side. Check in was smooth. The room was very clean, large, spacious, bed was comfortable, plenty of lighting, had a refrigerator And microwave, kitchenette area, table for 4, chairs, and a unique reading room. Decor was nice with exposed brick. I chose the room Fabir, which overlooked the Main Street and was able to keep an eye on my vehicle parked outside. Drive to the airport was only 14 minutes. I would like to go back sometime and spend time in the Commercial district as there were so many up and coming shops, eateries, and outdoor fresco businesses. To address other review concerns, I was never woken up by trains, even though I did hear a train when awake. If that is a concern, be sure to pick the room facing the street. I would suggest to get blackout curtains as the streetlights are pretty bright and do align shining in the room and where you sleep. I would definitely stay here again! Support local owners!!

- Jennifer (10/5): Charming - Amazing little boutique hotel above a coffee shop. Came with a friend for a girls weekend. We loved it. However, we didn’t realize we had the “honeymoon” suite which meant there was a large bathtub in the middle of the room with no door or walls. Would have been nice to know that before so we could pick a different room. The area is lovely. We were able to walk to dinner and shopping. We had breakfast below and it was good. A charming hotel!

- ANITA (8/5): - I absolutely loved this little boutique hotel. The pictures do not do it justice. You have to visit it to truly experience the ambiance with simple, natural minimalist design. Bonus: It’s just minutes from an assortment of international cuisine. The 12 ft (?) ceilings and sky light in the bedroom made the room feel massive yet intimate. I enjoyed the fresh roasted coffee (from the coffee shop) with easy pour over instructions. Waking up and walking down to Eurasia Coffee Co. was a highlight of my stay. The baristas shared info about the chocolatier, Askinosie, less than a block away. And offered suggestions on drinks/food. Their syrups our house made and I loved the homemade caramel that tasted like brown butter. Overall my stay was pretty amazing, but I have a few minor suggestions for improvement… 1) Since this was my first experience booking a boutique hotel I did not consider that the hotel would have specific hours for checking in. Upon arrival the front door was locked and we luckily found someone around back that was able to let us in. I would suggest an after hours email be sent out or a call when the front desk is closing down. 2) I was not able to get a good night’s rest because the air conditioner was going on and off in a very loud manner. Turns out there is a ‘sleep mode’ that I found out a little too late. My suggestion would be to put a card on the bed that advises the guest to put the a/c on ‘sleep mode’ to assist in more restful sleep.

- Denise (4/5): Quaint hotel - This place is adorable and the mattress is awesome. It was very clean. It's just missing many of the standard amenities and needs some upkeep. There was no clock, no radio, no USB to charge our phones and we could not get the tv to work. The windows were boarded which I found very odd. The main entrance to the hotel locks after the coffee shop closes. It has a code to get in but it did not seem very secure at all. Once we got the jetted tub full it would not drain because the knob was broken. Probably the biggest oddity is that the bathroom is open to the sleeping area. No privacy when using the restroom. Maybe if we were able to Check-in earlier and have somebody come look at the things that we found that were issues it might have been a better experience.

Coffee shop downstairs very handy. Not all will love the location but it was perfect for me to access the Drury campus and visit my son and avoid the traffic.

The neighborhood looks to be an older area that has become an eclectic neighborhood full of shops and dining establishments. The building across the street has been boarded up as it is in transition, but don’t let this give you pause. We felt totally safe. We will definitely stay here again!

Quiet and peaceful. There is a train track nearby but didn't bother us at all! Easy drive to downtown and local attractions! Loved this location and will definitely be back!

- Roberta (10/5): A hidden gem! - This a gem for the lucky ones who are open-minded and adventurous. A six room hotel located in the old historic business district of Springfield. From the outside it is a slightly rundown building, but inside there are bright immensely roomy spaces that are comfortable and a bit luxurious, each one with its own personality. Downstairs is a coffee shop and quiet spaces to visit and hang out. The only downside is that there is no management on site. We loved it so much that we stayed a second unplanned night.

- Heather (8/5): Pretty but….. - The room was lovely, except trying to sleep or use the restroom was not easy. The volume from the railway all night kept us awake and the skylight and windows with only sheer covering made it hard with all the ambient street lighting shining in. Would have been much better if the room could have been darker. Also, the bathroom had no door, only a thin see through curtain making it uncomfortable to do what one does in a bathroom unless the tv was turned up.

A few abandoned buildings and railroad tracks near by but no big deal. Only complaint was the water pressure. The shower head had water buildup and water was barely coming out. Otherwise, amazing place. 10/10 would stay again.
- Chloe (8/5): - A small property managed independently. The owners put heart and soul into hotel property and adjoining coffee shop and work space. Reasonable price and good amenities. A little loud due to vaulted ceilings and railroad/trains frequently outside.

We were a short drive from places to eat as it was our first time in Springfield so we wanted to do some exploring. I would love to see a more substantial window covering for some privacy as the windows in the room face the road.

The owners clearly pour their heart and soul into every inch of this space. Still would give 6/5 stars if I could, but one small note: the check-in process was a little confusing. A quick one-sheet with check-in info might be helpful :)

- Melanie (10/5): - We arrived at this Historic District hotel on a Sunday early evening, and was a little taken aback at the eerily empty streets. It was like a ghost town. The buildings were charming though, and there were a few restaurants/bars still open for dinner. This boutique hotel was surprisingly charming… our particular room was large with a separate sitting area and kitchentte… the room also had an interesting view from the bedroom window that show-cased the stunnng sunset. The premises was super clean. The only negative is that if you arrive after 3 PM, you can only enter the building via a code to open door…. which they failed to text to us earlier. Had to make a phone call which resulted in an answering machine. I was about to call Expedia to cancel, when I got a very friendly call-back from a young woman telling me the door code and where our keys were located. Even though we had a rough start, we really loved this hotel. The area is very walkable with interestimg shops. Too bad we arrived on a Sunday afternoon and had to leave early the next morning. Would’ve loved to have shopped the stores and tried the unique eating places on this historic street.

Our rooms (we’ve stayed in two different types of rooms) have been stylish, sleek, and rustic (and affordable)! We would LIVE in the Casablanca Room if we could! We wish we’d have found your facility sooner! We look forward to returning often.
- trina (10/5): Cute boutique hotel! - Everything was great. Very nice and large room. Only complaint is the elevator was turned off so had to carry are large luggage up the stairs. Great coffee downstairs for breakfast. Walking distance to a variety of restaurants.
- Aaron (10/5): A favorite stay! - This is our 5th or 6th time staying here—we love historic C-Street and the east parking around this area. It’s quiet and the Eurasia coffee shop the hotel is above is lovely! The rooms are great, but there’s so much natural light you must pack an eye mask! Also, you’re quite near train tracks so ear plugs too. Otherwise the pour over coffee set up in the room is fantastic and the beds/linens/water pressure and AC are great! I do wish this location was pet friendly though, it would make travel/life much easier!
- Robin (10/5): Wonderful, spacious retreat! - Wow! What a spacious room and relaxing stay. We were in the Jaipur room, next to the road and it was quiet, quieter than big hotels. There’s a room great for writing or working, a sitting area, and a table to eat, sit at, and drink coffee. The location was down the street from many tasty restaurants, not to mention the coffee shop directly underneath the hotel. I also loved the Indian-travel theme! Gosh, really enjoyed it, what a sweet treat!
