Guest Reviews
- Jazmine (10/5): - Beautiful place to stay the room was smaller than expected but still a nice place to stay friendly helpful staff
- Hunny (7/5): Good -
- James (10/5): Good spot in Lome - The staff at this hotel were very friendly and helpful. They arranged a couple of awkward taxi rides for us that wouldn't have been easy on a taxi app. The bar seemed to be open 24 hours which was useful. Security on the door were always at hand when needed. The only small issue was a couple of dead Cockroaches in the room but you do have to remember that this is Togo and bugs are always going to be not too far away. I would stay here again if visiting Lome.
- Joshua (10/5): Upmarket and luxury hidden in the side streets. - This was booked at about 9pm as the hotel I had originally booked had given my room away. I didn’t want to spend this amount of money but I found that this was such a nice place with good air conditioning and super fast reliable wifi it was a no brainer and worth every cent. The staff were super helpful and friendly. The location is walkable to lots of restaurants and shops. The room was massive and comfortable with a great bathroom! The hotel bar/restaurant was nice with a good atmosphere! Great hotel! Can’t fault them. I would stay here again!
- joshuadayne (10/5): A friendly hotel with everything you need! - From the get go, Hotel M’Rode was great! As soon as I got there the bloke at the front desk was so accommodating and welcoming speaking in English for me, which I wasn’t used to in West Africa!
The room I was given was huge! And it had everything I needed; air conditioning, excellent shower, comfort bed and super fast wifi!
Every time I left or returned I was greeted with a smile and even the security guards were helping in finding me moto taxis.
While I didn’t get to try the restaurant, I did go in for drinks and the atmosphere was pretty lively. Plus it’s 24h!
I’ll definitely return to Hotel M’Rode next time I’m in Lome.
- Santosh (1/5): Overall not good - Room was very noisy. Surroundings was noisy Location of Hotel.
- O (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jean (8/5): Very good -
- Hassan Deme (6/5): - The staff very nice and friendly. The food served at the restaurant is okay. The bathrooms need some upgrades and cleaning. I requested a shuttle from the airport in advance but nobody came to pick me up. Internet was not working in my room so I got upgraded to another room where the Internet was working but unstable (I had hard time working remotely from my room). We had power outage multiple times. The hotel does have a generator but whenever the building switched to using the generator, my room remained without power and I had to call the staff each time to fix the issue.
- Ayodeji (9/5): Superb -
- Keith (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simon (5/5): Passable -
- Rohan (3/5): Poor - Location is good if you have work near port Stuff is arrogant need to tell same thing again again again but no results
- Nasir (8/5): Very good -
- Moses (4/5): - Secured and neat
- Edwin (8/5): Very good - Staff Perfect
- Owa (7/5): Good -
- Sharon (10/5): - This is a well kept and classy place, quite clean, with spacious and comfortable rooms. The service is decent (but staff do not speak much English and you may need to be patient until they understand you if in English). They are willing to meet requests if at all possible. I’ve stayed there twice and would do it again.
- Yvan (9/5): Superb - They actually offered me to stay in their apartments which was actually much better than the hotel room. More space, more comfort and a swimming pool. Nothing
- ArtemisaS (6/5): Good choice for a stay in Lomé - First on must consider that Lomé, Togo, is not Europe and the european standards do not apply.
This said, M'Rode is a good choice for a stay in Lomé. After 3 two weeks' stays I can say the staff makes me feel at home. The room is properly clean and the bed confortable. The location is very central and within a walking distance of two of the best international restaurants of Lomé (La Main a la Pâte and Côté Jardin).
- funfrolicbi (8/5): Best-in-class (Except wi-fi) - Hi,
Been to Lome as part of my work. Had stayed in this hotel in late 2010. So, been again. Had found many changes since 2010. New staff and refurbished guest rooms.
The only problem is non-availability of Indian cuisines (which I crave for the most) and absolute headache is with internet access (Wi-fi) - Its quite absurd, connects and disconnects in a minute as well.
Stayed single for 5 days.
Thanks.
- louisg666 (2/5): Terrible experience - I arrived in Lome the day that the government closed the Tagawa Accor hotel so all other decent hotels were full booked and my driver landed me at the M Rode hotel.
This is my worst experience in term of client mispreasal in Lome.
Althought it is priced like a luxury hotel (85000 CFA / night for a 'golden room') this hotel lacks the minimum in amenities and service for an average decent hotel.
Room are far from clean, furniture is damaged, there is no soap provided, and the whole room is tiled from floor to ceiling. But the worst is that smell of industrial cleaning all over the hotel. I got an allergy to it and suffred the all night from asthma. The next morning, I closed my luggage and left them at the reception, while I was looking for another hotel which I found only at around 7pm. I returned to pick up my luggage: they had been brought back to my room and my suitcase was open.
As i asked what happened the manager of the hotel told me 1st it was for security reason as they could not keep the luggage at the front desk (??) and immediately after she asked me to pay for an additional 1/2 day, arguining I had not left the hotel on time!
As I was claiming about this, the security agent tried first to take my luggage so that I could not leave... In front of my determination, they finally let me go, without providing me the invoice.
This is definitively not an hotel to be advertised on tripadvisor.
- christopher1983 (8/5): Lovely surprise - I came to M'Rode rather by chance during a four day business trip to Lome in late November 2011.
Before departing I called the Mercure, which was full, and eventually ended up at the Foyer des Marins after reading several complimentary reviews on Trip Adviser.
Don't be fooled. Foyer des Marins is very basic and - despite a nice pool and friendly staff - is not really suitable for business travellers.
Thankfully I was directed to M'Rode and was promptly and competently welcomed by several of the handsome, young Togolese staff.
My stay was lovely, not least because of the hotel's excellent location in a quiet residential neighbourhood, its great bar and several excellent (preominantly French) restaurants within walking distance. The service also proved to be good throughout my stay.
Moreover the management - charmingly - did not charge me for a half-day spent in my room before catching a flight back to Paris. That would never happen at the souless Mercure, whose principal attribute is its Olympic size pool.
I hope to visit Lome again and will definitely be coming back to M'Rode.
