Ann (10/5): Small nice hotel - Small lovely hotel in a calm area, old colonial style, well maintained. Great staff, you feel like at home. I had dinner every evening at the hotel, the food is delicious. To go on a walk up on the hill with the dogs were one of the highlights, also the massage. Of environmental reasons it had been good if filtered water had been available.

Der Strand war gut zu Fuß zu erreichen. Wir haben uns einen Flughafentransfer organisieren lassen. Es hat super geklappt, sehr zuverlässig. Die Kommunikation im voraus sehr angenehm. Ankhi (9/5): - Ashok and Motilal made our stay very memorable! We enjoyed wonderful meals in the garden and the short walk to Sinquerim beach and Lower Aguada fort. A cot for the extra mattress would be helpful. Our room next to the kitchen was comfortable but didn't receive any sunlight. Still worth it!
Elisabeth (9/5): Marvellous place! - The location and the ambience is marvellous! The staff is very nice. The food is good - you need to try it! Ask for fresh fish! Small details like the very, very slow WiFi. You can hardly communicate with people. Some people say you should not need WiFi when you are on vacation. We cannot separate work from vacation, thus we need a functioning wifi :-) Since there are so few rooms I also believe it could be good to provide them all with a kettle.

Jochen (9/5): Wir kommen gerne wieder und können das Marbella Guest House für Ruhe Suchende sehr empfehlen - Uns hat die ruhige Lage und familiäre Atmosphäre gefallen. Die Unterkunft hat sechs Zimmer und liegt am Ende einer Seitenstraße und damit fern vom Straßenlärm. Man läuft ca 10 Min bis zum Sinquerim Beach, einem Strandabschnitt der nicht so überlaufen ist und wo es dennoch Strandbuden, Liegen und Sonnenschirme gibt. Weiter hat uns das hervorragende Essen gefallen! Egal ob Frühstück oder Abendessen, alles wurde frisch zubereitet. Wir waren happy, dass wir dadurch die echte indische Küche kennenlernen konnten. Dazu kommt die familiäre und unaufgeregte Atmosphäre. Der Manager und sein Team harmonieren sehr gut zusammen. Unsere Wünsche und Fragen zu Ausflugszielen und Fortbewegungsmitteln konnten alle erfüllt werden Nichts

Pauline (10/5): Wunderschöner Aufenthalt in tollem Guesthouse - Ein wunderschönes sehr gepflegtes Haus der portugiesischen Kolonialzeit: sehr schöne und saubere Zimmer, sehr nettes Personal und das Frühstück ist fantastisch. Es ist genauso, wie man es bei Booking auf den Bildern sieht. Sajjan, der Leiter des Guesthouses war sehr nett und hat uns einen Roller (internationalen Führerschein nicht vergessen und sich drauf einstellen, dass der Verkehr in Indien seehr chaotisch ist) organisiert und außerdem noch einen privaten Fahrer für 2 weitere Tagesausflüge. Wir waren in der Monsunzeit da, auch dann ist es wunderschön. Das Haus ist am Ende einer kleinen Straße gelegen, dadurch ist es sehr ruhig. Absolute Empfehlung! Es war alles wirklich prima!

Guest (9/5): Beautiful retreat place but keep in mind the wifi does not work well - The food and cook was very sweet and cooked as a delicious home cooked meal and chai. The staff was the ebst part about the stay and the ambience. There was no hot water and the hot tub looked so good but couldn't use it as hot water did not come. The wifi was very weak so if you plan to work keep that in mind.

Surrounded by nature with peacocks in the backyard, old mango & jackfruit trees, the charming & cordial team of Sajjan, Moti, Ashuk & Nundu will do their best to treat you just like being home without being home. I trjly loved my stay of ten days there & give it 5*s! If you are looking for a quiet, charming place with a style that is one of a kind & not looking for something super fancy, but still with all the amenities one needs, then this is your place.

Gaynor (10/5): A pretty and unique gem - This is an adorable, unique gem of a guest house. It has a pretty courtyard where you can have a drink and eat. Food is freshly cooked, and delicious. Staff were very friendly and attentive. We chose to come to Goa in May, which is getting close to monsoon and very hot - possibly not the best time to visit. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our 3 nights at Marbella Guest House. We walked to Sinquerim Beach on day 1, and walked round to Sinquerim Jetty on day 2 to catch a dolphin boat tour. Nothing I disliked.

Joanne (10/5): A charming and peaceful retreat - Location - perfectly situated at the end of a residential road close to the beach and shops and the fort. Accommodation - tastefully decorated and everything you would need. We stayed in the garden room which is one of the smaller rooms and in hindsight we were pleased with this room as it was plenty spacious, but a bit cozier and very comfortable. Food - plenty of choice in the included breakfast offer, all freshly prepared with quality ingredients. We ate dinner there most lights too and there is plenty of choice and all the dishes were very well prepared from scratch and really tasty. We loved the xacuti and also had tiger prawns and pomfret one of the nights too which was delicious!! Staff - Sajjid has a great team working for him and they are all excellent in their roles front and back of house. Particular mention to Motthi and Pasquale who were just fab. Cleanliness and comfort - exceptionally clean and everything working as it should. We had a problem with our AC one of the nights and were given the option to move to another room to sleep with the promise of the AC being fixed the following day. Which it was. Safety and security - there is a safe in the rooms. Being located at the end of the residential road also made it feel safer and there is a security guard on duty overnight. And of course there are the resident dogs to add to the security detail, special mention to Sophie dog and Judy dog. We felt very safe and secure. Overall we were so pleased we chose to stay at the Marbella guest house and would thoroughly recommend it to those seeking peace and tranquility in a charming setting with a team of friendly staff that genuinely care about ensuring you enjoy your stay.

Markus (10/5): We had a verly pleasant stay - A truly tranquil stay. Sejjan and his staff made our time very worthwhile. He organized everything we asked for and gave us precious tips on what to do and how to. The rooms in this beautiful house are spacious and very comfortable. The food served was always freshly prepared and super tasty. The terrace where the food is served is nicely surrounded by greenery with a huge Jackfruit tree in the center. The location is a bit off the beaten path but that’s exactly what we were looking for. A 10 minute walk to the clean beach with watersports and plenty of shacks that offer sunbeds was very much acceptable. Thank you Marbella team for making our stay a memorable one.

The rooms where wonderfully decorated and spacious. The staff were amazingly helpful, friendly and the chef made to order food was the best! Tanvi (10/5): Missing it already! - The property in itself is amazing. It has such a calm and relaxing vibe. It's tastefully decorated. There is so much greenery and nature, such a variety of plants that have been preserved and looked after. The flora fauna is amazing. There were so many different types of birds. My mother spotted a peacock. I can go on and on. The different types of rooms offer variety. The location is great, it's a 10 mins walk to the beach. It's safe and tucked away from the noise. The staff is great. Sajjan, Ashokji and Motiji who cooked for us and looked after us are great. We spent so much time talking to Ashokji , it really felt nice like family. I obviously can't forget our furry friends Sophie, daisy, chameli and many more.I can't wait to be back. Nothing that I didn't like. I found the bed too soft but that's just a personal preference. I had a great night of sleep.

Elizabeth (10/5): This place is amazing! - We loved our stay at Marbella Guest House. The place is beautiful, even better than in the pictures. The staff was always available to help, and very friendly. The included breakfast options were great and good portions. Our last day they prepared a breakfast to go because we had an early flight, this was greatly appreciated. The service and a la carte food at the restaurant was amazing too. They serve Indian and Goan, but there were some continental options. The thing we loved most, were the friendly dogs that roam around and the charity they work with. The Guest Gouse is just outside of Candolim, which makes it a very pleasant and quiet place to stay. You're still about 5 minutes by car or scooter from all the restaurants and shops in Candolim, so you get the best of both worlds. In short: this place is amazing. Do yourself a favor and book it!

Monika (10/5): Exceptionally charming place with a great team - Beautiful old villa with tastefully decorated rooms. Our room had a shared veranda where I could lounge with a book, looking out on the jungle, listening to and observing birds (better prepared fellow travellers had binoculars, which would be a good idea). There is a shady, lush garden which also serves as the restaurant. The villa has a really good cook and they offer very reasonably priced, excellent meals. We arrived late, and although the kitchen was closed for orders, the cook whipped up a wonderful masala omelette so we didn’t go hungry to bed. The staff is exceptional, and Sajjan, who runs it all, will organize everything from sightseeing tours to airport transfers. The high standard also applies to cleanliness - the bathroom is spotless and you get huge fluffy towels. The beach is just a short walk away. The high standard of cleanliness involves properly airing the rooms (very rare in hotels), which can occasionally result in a curious frog straying into the bathroom as the property is literally on the edge of the jungle - it happened to us, but staff removed it instantly, so we saw more the humorous side of it. I asked the other guests if they had a similar experience, but nobody else did. The wifi is not too reliable, as some people already noted here, but would you really want to spend your day doomscrolling when staying in such a perfect place?

The location is quiet and quaint and the staff are cooperative and very helpful.The rooms are spacious and have a beautiful common area for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's a 5 star stay at a 3 stat rate for sure. Everything was top notch.

Amazing garden with a nice walk to the beach, but also a great starting point for short trips around. The villa's original design means that there is some noise from the neighbouring room.

Far enough from the bustle of the main street to be peaceful but near enough for an easy walk to the town and the beach. Breakfast and evening food was delcious. Wifi was a bit slow and patchy, but who needs to be on line when you are in a lovely place like this.

Monica (10/5): a lush, relaxing oasis with kind staff - Marbella is a beautiful haven. A week here can heal you and leave you coming back for more. My partner was also sick when we first got there, but recovered well with the staff cooking up congee and always making accommodations for meals. The space is well taken care of, drama-free and an oasis for couples. Towards the end of our stay, the bathroom started to develop a bad smell, although we had it cleaned several times. This was reported to the manager and they mentioned it would be fixed, I'm sure they've taken a look.

The restaurant was also very good, we had most dinners in the hotel's garden. A green, relaxing and quiet place. There were several dogs right outside the bedroom window that woke us up at night and very early in the morning. Can be a problem if you are a light sleeper.

From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Check in was great and Sajin made us instantly feel at ease. Our room was gorgeous, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The housekeeping team ensured everything was perfect throughout our visit. What truly set this hotel apart was the exceptional service. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, professional, and eager to assist. They introduced themselves by name and remembered our names and likes/dislikes. The restaurant served delicious meals with impeccable presentation, and the staff was always ready to offer great recommendations. We had a memorable Christmas lunch, discussing what we’d like the day before and then enjoying the wonderful meal. Mr. Sajjan, the manager, takes good care of his guests. The guesthouse kitchen is run efficiently by the excellent cooks, especially Mr. Ashok. They provide freshly prepared, delicious meals. As a matter of fact, meal services are one of the best things about Marbella. We are grateful to Nandu, Moti and other members of the staff for making our stay comfortable. We will surely come back to this beautiful and comfortable guesthouse.

Sajjan and team went out of their way to make our stay special. Felt like part of the family by the time we left! All the meals were cooked to perfection, authentic and delicious. Sajjan who overseas the house was incredibly helpful and went out of his way to make us comfortable and at home. The home has a lovely old school Portuguese feel and the dogs looked after us :)

Absolutely love the bed.. has a very romantic feeling. Also the breakfast and the entire food is super delicious. Even the area is quite nice if you are looking for a peaceful area. Overall strongly recommend this property Had some issues with the shower which was a bit of a bummer, but the staff tried as much as they could to fix it. They have also told they'll get it fixed by a plumber once we checkout

Tian (8/5): A perfect Goan escape - The place is living history and it's incredible how well-kept the premises are despite its challenging location. The staff was also very forthcoming (shoutout to Mothi and Sajjan), and the meals were always excellent. Rooms definitely show their age, and there was a bit of an odor coming from the restroom. Location is rather out of the way - that makes it ideal to get away from the bustle of the main road, but slightly inconvenient if access to main sights and sounds is the key concern.
Tsvetin (9/5): Exceptional stay with beautiful rooms and a calm quiet atmosphere, two nights was simply not enough - The rooms, the garden, the service and staff were all exceptional. The look and feel of the room was quiet, calm, beautiful and spacious. The staff were always on hand to provide us with whatever we required whether it be food (both western and Indian) drinks or drivers to take us to activities. The property also has several friendly and adorable dogs. I particularly enjoying having breakfast in the rooms private garden surrounded by plants. The lighting in the room although excellently atmospheric was a touch dark when it came time to pack. The bathtub in our room was big enough to fit two and had a pretty design. The only issue was the hot water ran out before the tub could fill up.
Saju (9/5): Superb - Accommodating and polite staff. Mr Sajjan was very helpful. The kitchen staff also accommodated our requests for early breakfast. Sinquerim beach is just 950 m away and its a clean beach with lower Aguada fort as an excellent sunset point
Robert (10/5): Incredible experience and beautiful staff. - What an incredible oasis of tranquility! We were looking for some time to relax and find peace and this place definitely provided it. The staff was incredible and so lovely and caring, we really felt that we have built a connection with them. In fact we had dinner at the hotel most nights as we wanted to be in their company. A must try is their Masala Chai on the veranda in the evening: they make you feel at home. 10/10 for this one.
Louella (9/5): Intoxicating Sounds of silence - If you're looking for a peaceful getaway, this is it. The guest house embodies the charm of Goa. The greenery around and the silence is mesmerising, almost intoxicating for someone from the city of Mumbai. The coziness of the room we stayed in The Mughal suite and the warmth of the staff was the highlight of the stay. The food was simple and delicious. Not too far away from the hustle of Candolim (a 15 min walk) makes this place a good option for those looking for a good mix of some buzz and moments of peace. I will definitely visit again. Thank you Sajjan, Paulos and to all the staff for making it a memorable holiday. The wi-fi was flaky. Pets entering the kitchen area. Would be nice to have more traditional Goan cuisine options.
Claudia (9/5): Unique stay in a historic building. - Gorgeous enormous suite. Felt more like having a luxury apartment than a room. The patio was comfortable and being able to eat from a menu either to my room or downstairs was really convenient. It would have been nice to have AC in all the spaces, rather than just the bedroom, as the living room got very hot.

Karaanjkar (10/5): Amazing! - A wonderful quaint property at the end of the town. Away from all the hustle bustle nestled in between a mini forest right below the fort. Just so perfect to have a cool quiet time. I was here for a work from home setup and it worked great for me. Just what i wanted. The staff was super friendly and kind. Accommodated to all my needs. Sajjan the manager is such a great guy, spent plenty time chit chatting with him during my free time. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a clean, rustic looking dog friendly place. NA
Gaikwad (10/5): Best Place To Stay At Candolim, North goa - The staff is very cooperative and humble, the location is exceptional with lot of trees around it feels serene one can stay for a an entire week, special thanks to Manager Sajjan, looking forward to visit this beautiful place in coming months 😊
Elif (10/5): Exceptional - It was an exceptional experience. The property is beautiful itself and well maintained, clean. It's in a commercial part of Goa but in a very calm and peaceful part of it, you don't feel like you're in a busy place at all. The staff was amazing, we got an upset stomach 1 day due to outside food and they cooked us ganji which immediately helped us to recover. They all are so nice and helpful in terms of anything actually. Food was also very delish. Overall the best place I stayed in India I can say.
Coldsideofthepillow (8/5): Nice atmosphere and location for our short stay - Interesting building, pleasant rooms with AC in the bedroom, breakfast was great. The location was great for the very short walk to Sinquerim beach, Kandolim a short walk. Good places to eat nearby. Communication, WhatsApp without permission from multiple numbers, demands for bank transfer not advertised at the time of booking, overcharge for airport transfer were the only annoyances.
Indre (10/5): Weekend getaway - I had an amazing weekend in Goa thanks to Marbella Guest House team - the accommodation is beautiful and well looked after. I can tell that the whole team at the guest house truly care about taking care of the property and guests. Nothing was too much trouble - from the moment I arrived I felt like home. My standard room was spotless, beautifully designed, clean and quiet. The team gave me tips for sightseeing and eating out and even offered to drop me off at a nearby beach although it’s a pleasant 10 minute walk away. They also arranged a massage appointment for me and the therapist was very professional. It felt wonderful to have a massage at the guest house after a full day of sightseeing in old Goa, which was also recommended by the team. Food was delicious and the menu had a lot of options. Truly wonderful stay. Hope to be back soon.
