Guest Reviews
- Kenneth (3/5): - Nothing sadly. The noise from workmen.

- Trevor (8/5): - Easy to find location and no problem parking. Friendly staff. No food options (I was there on a Monday evening) and bar closed as soon as I arrived, although they did let me get a drink to take up to my room.
- shona (9/5): wonderful host, great food and lovely room. most definitely stay there again -
- RYAN (7/5): -
- graham (5/5): Disappointing - Fast easy check in Was supposed to be superior king room it was really quite small
The toilet/ shower room was over the corridor which I believed to be shut off from everyone else until I realised that someone has come through the fire escape at the other side of the hall and opened the door which meant that when I came out the shower I could have been met in the hall by a member of staff on another guest
I tried turning the wall radiator on but nothing happened there was a small oil filled radiator heater which I had turned on but the room was freezing I sat with my jacket on the whole time as I had to get a lot of work done
The draft that came through the window was unbelievable and the noise it made howling was incredible I hardly slept a wink
- Nicola (3/5): Disappointed - Our room was not ready. We were give a key for a room that had not been cleaned. The room was not clean. The room was not ready for our arrival. It was also not cleaned properly. It was quite expensive and not even bottled water was supplied. Family had problems with their rooms also.
- JACK (6/5): Apart from plumbing issues hotel is fine for an overnight - Location and restaurant Issue with shower not working and hot water flow poor
- Ian (9/5): Great staff, very helpful - Staff were great. So helpful I arrived for check in at 2pm but the main doors were locked. It was only at 3pm when someone was exiting that I got it. Staff were not aware I had booked.
- Marion (10/5): - It was a lovely hotel we were visiting friends which stayed right round the corner so very convenient for.

- jean (9/5): Jean & Michael - Loved the friendly staff. Lovely restaurant, good pub food , everywhere lovely and clean The bed a wee bit firm for us but that's down to preference, the shower could do with wee rubber mat as bit slippy, but no big issues fir sure
- Fiona (8/5): -
- John (7/5): -
- Audrey (7/5): Disappointing - Very clean and staff seemed helpful Chef was not in until 10am and promised cold breakfast at 8am didn’t materialise
- Thomas (7/5): Clean & well equipped - Clean rooms & helpful staff The traffic noise
- Edward (10/5): -
- Robert (9/5): Superb! - Staff were excellent. Very helpful and friendly. The irons in the room arent very good, however, the owner kindly took my shirt away and ironed it for me saving the day!
- David (10/5): - Newmacnar is very good and the staff very helpful
- Margaret-Anne (10/5): Absolute gem! - It is a very stylish, cozy hotel. It's in a lovely easy drive location which perfect for a night away to relax. The choice on the menu was amazing, and the quality of the dishes superb. I had the most sublime cocktails while enjoying the glorious sunshine in the fabulous outdoor area. The staff were brilliant throughout my entire stay and their service was impeccable. The room was perfect for me and the fan in the room was a welcome sight after a day in the sun. Nothing it was a truly perfect stay.
- Scott (6/5): Perfectly nice place - need to either explain breakfast or provide it - whichever is easier. - Pleasant enough - ideally located for a wedding we were attending. Bed comfortable and room clean, if a little small. Could not quite figure out the breakfast situation, not clear if this is poor communication on their part or our failure to understand. Paid in advance for 3 nights breakfast. Was told on arrival that if a cooked breakfast was required they need to know the evening before (to arrange staff), that it would not be available before 10:00, and it would come at extra cost. Alternatively a 'continental' breakfast is provided and left in the the little kitchenette area upstairs, we said this would be fine.
1st morning no breakfast left. 2nd morning (after chat and apology the night before) there was some croissants left out in polystyrene kebab shop type containers with a butter sachet and a babybel. Left out overnight; so stale by the morning. 3rd morning again no breakfast. So overall paid £60 for a dry croissant, a room temperature babybel, and some yogurt.
Checked out on the 3rd morning with no staff around to tell and were (as far as I could tell) the only people in the building. Leaving a croissant out overnight and putting some yoghurt in a fridge is not a continental breakfast. There's a filter coffee machine but no coffee (that I could find). Just strange and certainly poor value. Such an easy thing to get right.
- Michael (3/5): Poor - The restaurant had good food but was the local pub. We had breakfast included but was told at check in just continental but wasn't provided at all on our first night and we had to complain.
- Siim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susanne (10/5): Exceptional - Everything Na

- Gordon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ian (10/5): Fantastic hotel would definitely stay again - Amazing location and the staff are the best, they kept the kitchen open for us when we were turning up late and even brought the food to the room if we wanted it there
- Debra (4/5): Handy location for Oldmeldrum. Overall disappointing. RESTAURANT GOOD (eaten there previously) - Close proximity to Oldmeldrum. Room very clean, shower good Booked superking, got a twin. Only staff member we saw spent less than a minute showing us the room, no instructions or explanation re where shared kitchenette was (found by accident next day, no toaster??). Main road location so couldn't open windows as too noisy. Walls were paper thin so we heard everything including lady next door coughing and spluttering from 6.30 am. Saw no one else from Hotel in the 3 nights we stayed to mention re wrong bed type.
- Sandra (8/5): Very good - Food in scullery restaurant was excellent
- Edward (10/5): Exceptional - The staff were extremely helpful and couldn’t do enough.
- Kalham (8/5): Very good -
- Kenny (1/5): Bad -
- George (4/5): Not the best! - Booked this for one of my employees who was working in the area. When he arrived he was shown to a room in the roofspace that had to duck all the time due to the amount the roof came into the room. Booked a room with a private bathroom but he was shown a bathroom along a public corridor, not exactly private! Then the bar was noisy until about 0130 when he was trying to sleep as he was up early in the morning. Needless to say he wasn't very happy!
- Mike (10/5): Very nice place and location - Really nice place to stay and dine well done
- William (8/5): Very good -
- Darren (8/5): staff and food great, mattress not so great -

- Fraser (10/5): Ideal spot for a weekend trip visiting around Aberdeen - Comfortable friendly clean welcoming hotel. Room compact but freshly decorated and ideal for us. Great out of town location. Nothing
- Ellie (9/5): One night stay at Newmachar - The bed was comfortable, shower was good and hot, and the restaurant and food was incredible! Staff were also very friendly and helpful. Other guests were a little noisy outside our room when entering their own room, but that's at no fault of the hotel and their staff.
- John (10/5): Great small hotel, friendly staff, and excellent food! - Very comfortable room. Clean and well appointed. Warm and cosy. Bar very good for food first night. Restaurant is excellent for great quality food. No cooked breakfast options for week days, and nobody to check you out in the morning when you leave. Everything was good though.

We felt at home the minute we met and our conversations continued throughout our stay. Needs a larger snooker table....JOKE!
- Nigel (10/5): A perfect place to stay outside of Aberdeen. - All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was spot on, and I enjoyed a couple of beers with the locals.
