• Mariely (4/5): Better Experience Elsewhere for this Price Point - The hotel itself is situated in the center of Cayala which made it easy to navigate. However, the restroom door does not close all the way and it made it uncomfortable for everyone to use the restroom as you can see when someone is sitting on the toilet. The shower door also didn't close all the way so a lot of water and ended up leaking out. The elevators shut off and you can get stuck for up to 30 minutes depending on how long it takes for staff to reset it. The staff was amazing. They were so helpful and courteous. The only reason I would come back is for the staff.

• C195MXantoniob (2/5): Bad Management, lied to us and double billed, 30 days later no refunds yet - I made a reservation with family on the authorization for the room; the hotel did not honor the other names even after the front desk confirmed them and made them pay upon arrival. They informed my family that since they paid, that I would not be charged, but they then proceeded to also charge me. After a few weeks of back and forth, they said they would reimburse my family, but a month later there has been no refund. The Manager (Mauricio) was rude and has refused to help any further. I am disappointed with the manner in which the hotel, and Marriott have handled this incident.
• Blanca (6/5): - Marriott was a total let down, even though, is located on a beautiful part of town, is overpriced, parking is a nightmare, like being in a maze, and staff were not friendly, or give cero help to assist you in ways to navigate, around the place. Breakfast was Not that good, and very expensive. I will never choose them again.

• JudithG999 (10/5): Welcoming and comfortable, convenient to US Embassy - Modern hotel, comfortable room, welcoming staff. We stayed one night in this hotel for an appointment the next day at the US Embassy. It is located within walking distance of the embassy. Had a drink at the bar on the 6th floor, near reception. Fabulous view of the city and the volcanoes. Not inexpensive but everything worked, good wifi, and we were very comfortable. When we asked for directions to a restaurant, the young woman from reception ran out to the street to let us know that she had told us to turn left and she meant right! Very kind of her. And the staff spoke both Spanish and English (we used both!)

I went searching for an outdoor pool and could not find one in the area of Cayala. That is the only thing I would recommend. Any pool that could be shared by that hotel and others would be great. Not the AC hotel's fault, will always choose this hotel line.

For $250 the room was a bit tight in space and our view from the window was a brick wall of a building next door. Got a room here only because of the surrounding shops and restaurants. Sin embargo, lamento decir que la experiencia no cumplió con mis expectativas 😓. Primero, creo que es uno de los hoteles más caros en los que me he hospedado en Guatemala 🤔. Entendiendo que el precio puede ser justificado por el área en la que se encuentra, debo decir que los resultados no justificaban el costo. A pesar de que el personal del hotel fue muy atento 👍, encontré varios problemas durante mi estancia. Estimado equipo del hotel, Algunos de los inconvenientes presentes se debían a una vista limitada desde nuestra habitación, la falta de señal en la televisión 📺 y, además, mi esposo y yo terminamos encerrados en el gimnasio 🏋️‍♂️por un rato ya que nadie atendía nuestras llamadas para asistirnos. Otro factor que sumó a mi decepción fue mi intento fallido de usar las escaleras interiores. Solo pude acceder a las escaleras exteriores y no pude regresar debido a la falta de indicaciones claras 😕. La última gota fue cuando intentamos usar la cafetera ☕ y no pudimos, o estaba demasiado complicada para comprender o simplemente no funcionaba. Habiendo pagado más de 200 dólares por mi estancia, la decepción es grande y me cuestiono si me hospedaría nuevamente allí ⚖️. Sin embargo, seguiré visitando Cayala. Esperamos que tomen en cuenta estas observaciones, gracias! Saludos,

• vivianwH184KZ (4/5): Really think about staying at this hotel - The hotel has beautiful views, but the hotel service leave a lot to be desired. If you travel with a lot of luggage, or with elderly people, or small children do not expect help with you luggage. You have to handle your luggage yourself. The rooms are not very clean. When you check in ask questions because they do not give you any information. If you schedule a shuttle to the airport double and triple check because if though I made the reservation and confirmed the day before, the still had it for an hour later. Thankfully I allowed extra time to get to my flight. The people are nice, I just think the management does not know how to coordinate their personnel.

MY WIFE, OUR GRANDAUGHTER AND MYSELF, STAYED FOR A WEEK THIS TIME AROUND. WE LET THE FRONT DESK AND THE MANAGER KNOW THAT OUR SHOWER WAS LEAKING AND CREATED A HUGE PUDDLE WHEN DONE AND THAT OUR TOWELS WHERE VERY OLD. THE MANAGER DID NOTHING TO ACCOMEDATE US. MY WIFE THE FOLLOWING DAY ALSO SHARED THAT THIS WAS NOT RIGHT, THEY SENT A HANDYMAN WHOM EXPLAINED THAT 63 ROOMS HAD THIS DEFFECT AND THAT THE DOORS NEEDED TO BE FLIPPED. WE CAME BACK FROM ANTIGUA, AND AT 9PM OUR ROOM WAS NOT DONE. WE SENT CLOTHES TO THERE INTERNAL DRY CLEANERS AND THEY WHERE NOT READY AS THEY SAID THEY WOULD. EVERY DAY WE NEEDED TO REMIND THEM FOR ADDITIONAL TOWELS, SINCE WE NEEDED TO COVER THE FLOOR WITH THEM AFTER EACH ONE OF US SHOWERED. THE PHONE NEVER WORKED, NOR WAS THERE ANY INFO ON THE HOTELS DIRECTORY WITH EXTENSIONS, WE ASKED THE FRONT DESK, THEY GAVE ME THE EXTENSIONS AND THEY DID NOT WORK. I SHARED MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE MANAGER, HOPING THAT HE WOULD DO SOMETHING FOR US AS MARRIOTT BONVOY MEMBERS SO THAT WE WOULD RETURN, BUT NOT SO. I FILLED OUT THE MARRIOT SURVEY AND WAS CONTACTED BY MARCELO, WHOM SAID THAT THEY WILL LOOK INTO IT, NEVER HEARD BACK, SO I EMAILED MARCELO AND STILL NO RESPONSE. Bed was so comfortable, best sleep I got in Guatemala. Breakfast buffet was delicious, egg were made to order and there was fresh fruit, cheeses, potatoes, fresh bread, yogurt, etc. Would definitely recommend including it in your stay fare.

• Victoria (10/5): - Great hotel with plenty to do around. The infrastructure is a little off with the lobby being on the 6th floor and only one elevator going to the parking. The bathrooms don’t have doors so you can hear everything. The staff is incredibly nice, the ac is amazing and other getting annoyed at the logistics the stay was very good.
